• Urban Airship - not receivng push notifications on device?

  I just installed everything to my app and tried to push, but no messages appear. The token for my device is saved so that's working. When I push, the website says it sent, but no message are received on the device. Right now I'm using a production certificate for push notifications, with a developer provision and not the distribution certificate. I tried cleaning the build and reinstalling but no luck since an extra app was installed from the same one. I used the code that is on the sample file tutorial, I think that's all the details. Don't know what to do next.

• Twitter + OAuth Problem -- Cancel Button

  Hi everyone, I'm implementing OAuth to post on Twitter... which works perfectly. My issue is for those who entered the Twitter login area by accident and want to press the "Cancel" button. Unfortunately, the "Cancel" button is dismissed but then immediately reappears.   I have a UIPopoverController which I'm trying to show from a UIBarButtonItem in a navigation bar. Despite setting the resizing mask for the tableview inside the popover's content viewController, it takes up the whole height of the screen. The only thing which has any effect on the content size is menuPopover.contentViewController.view setFrame:CGRect. I'm using the code below to show the popover inside the left hand side of a UISplitViewController // menuPopover and editVc are properties on the parent viewController menuPopover = [[UIPopoverController alloc] initWithContentViewController:editVc]; [menuPopover presentPopoverFromBarButtonItem:btnMenu permittedArrowDirections:UIPopoverArrowDirectionAny animated:true]; [menuPopover setPopoverContentSize:CGSizeMake(400, 500) animated:true]; [menuPopover.contentViewController.view setFrame:CGRectMake(0,0,400, 500)]; Yet this is what I'm seeing.   I'm trying to use a pretty straightforward custom map annotation view and callout - the annotation view when I create it, just adds a UIImageView as a subview to itself. That works fine. However, when I call canShowCallout on the annotation view, An exception is thrown in MapKit immediately after returning the view.   If I have a UIScrollView set up in the view via the Interface Builder, how do I get a reference to it in the ViewController implementation? I want to programmatically add labels to the scroll view. For example, in C# if you have a textbox declared in the UI/form, you can access it by simply using the ID declared for that textbox. It doesn't seem this simple in objective c. Thanks Kevin

• Good way to cache data during Android application lifecycle?

  Hello, keeping my question short, I have creating application with 3 activities, where A - list of categories, B - list of items, C - single item. Data displayed in B and C is parsed from online XML. But, if I go trough A - B1 - C, then back to A and then back to B1 I would like to have it's data cached somewhere so I wouldn't have to request XML again. I'm new to Android and Java programming, I've googled a lot and still can't find (or simply do not have an idea where to look) a way to do what I want. Would storing all received data in main activity A (HashMaps? ContentProviders?) and then passing to B and C (if they get same request that was before) be a good idea?

Since that's not part of the method signature, I wonder if it would hurt to do something like: -(BOOL)validateAge:(NSNumber *)ioValue error:(NSError **)outError Is this still fine with KVC?

I'm using the following code to generate section headers: -(NSString*)tableView:(UITableView*)tableView titleForHeaderInSection:(NSInteger)section { if (section == 0) { NSString *header = @"Header 1"; return header; } if (section == 1) { NSString *header = @"Header 2"; return header; } else { NSString *header = @"Header 3"; return header; } } When my table is displayed, there are two headers for each section - one with white text on a gray bar that stretches across the screen (like the letter separators in the Contacts app), and one in gray text on the table background (which is the one I want). Both headers have identical text. Where is the first header coming from?

  Hi, Iam planning to create an app, and not to publish it at the google market. i want the users to update thire app once in a while when an updates will be rlsd via server(let's not get into the idea how i gonna do this)... so for this i need to give to each app some ID, so i know that that user gotta update his app, and not new installation (i wanna avoid the case the user will have two versions of the app).. and ofcourse install the app to new users. how could i sign those apps with version when i rls an update manually? mybe some other idea? thanks, ray.

For example how would I check if a specific CCSprite I declared has been touched?   Is it an error to call dealloc on a UIViewController from a background thread? It seems that UITextView (can?) eventually call _WebTryThreadLock which results in: bool _WebTryThreadLock(bool): Tried to obtain the web lock from a thread other than the main thread or the web thread. This may be a result of calling to UIKit from a secondary thread. Background: I have a subclassed NSOperation that takes a selector and a target object to notify. -(id)initWithTarget:(id)target { if (self = [super init]) { _target = [target retain]; } return self; } -(void)dealloc { [_target release]; [super dealloc]; } If the UIViewController has already been dismissed when the NSOperation gets around to running, then the call to release triggers it's dealloc on a background thread.
