• How to save QuickTime movie trailer files?

  Is it true that a few months ago, QuickTime allows users to save the movie trailers without using the Pro version? Right now, it seems like we need to pay $29.99 to save the movie trailer clip onto the hard drive... Several months ago, I also tried using Ubuntu and there was a plugin to view the movie trailer and was able to save it too... Are there other ways to save it to the hard drive?

• Move to next selection in Word 2007

  When I have multiple selections in a Word 2007 document, such as after selecting all instances of a style, how can I move from one selection to the next? When you issue the select all instances command, the view snaps to the next instance of the style, but how can I find the other instances? Any cursor key will unselect everything. Using the mouse to scroll through the document is not feasible for large documents, plus the selection could be a single character -- very easy to miss!

  I have recently assembled a dual monitor setup. I often watch live.twit.tv in my browser and I would like to run it maximized while I do other stuff on second screen, but when I click on a desktop the full screen mode rolls back to normal view. The same case is for different Flash players and I believe Silverlight players suffer from the same problem. Is there any way to bypass this behavior?

• Taking a screencast in Backtrack 4

  I'm working on a tutorial using Backtrack 4 Live USB, and I would like to take a screencast of what I'm doing (not just screenshots) So far I have tried these application with limited success: -recordmydesktop -xvidcap -wink -istanbul -vlc -vnc2flv Each time I try the resulting files are generally choppy (at best 1 frame per second) and most don't even end up with a clear view of the screen each time. If anyone has suggestions for the screencast I would greatly appreciate it. Thanks, Bryan

• Textmate rails bundle

  Normally when working inside a Ruby on Rails view file, I can hit CTRL + SHIFT + . to get open/close tags for rails like so: <%= selection %> I'm not sure how, but yesterday this functionality stopped working. I reinstalled the Ruby on Rails bundle for Textmate but alas, it did not help. Can anybody speculate might have happened and how I could fix it/reset to original settings? Thanks!

• Can't write to raid on Fedora

  I just did a fresh install of Fedora 11 and added Raid 1 following this tutorial: http://www.optimiz3.com/installing-fedora-11-and-setting-up-a-raid-0-1-5-6-or-10-array/ Now I see the filesystem when I open 'Computer' in the GUI, and I open it and see 'lost+found', but i can't write to the drive. The option is simply greyed out. And when I view Properties on the drive and go to Permissions, it says 'The permissions of {driveid} could not be determined.' Any ideas?

• Can I open a Disk2vhd created VHD file with 7-zip?

  I've created a VHD file of my C: drive, for backup purposes, using Disk2vhd 1.0. When I try opening the file using 7-Zip 4.65 (to view the contents) I get the error: "Can not open the file XXX as an archive". Does anyone know why this is? I have to assume that either the VHD creation failed and it's a corrupted file, or Disk2vhd creates a variation of the VHD format that 7-Zip doesn't support.

" system error 58 has occurred. the specified server cannot perform the requested operation." both machines are in same domain. windows xp machine can view and access all other share except windows 7. both machines do not have any firewall.

We have a cameraswitcher, very low key, that I can press buttons and it willswitch the view of the camera from one to the next. currently I control the cameras by sellecting the cameras via a remote control for change of angles.   In Outlook 2007, when in Calendar view, there's a category (group) of calendars on the left hand bar titled "People's Calendars". We're migrating from a system where all employees have access to read and write to all other employees' calendars (via a 3rd party Web Calendar). Is it possible, from an admin level, to auto-populate this People's Calendars category in everyone's Outlook with all the employees in the company, and grant everyone read / write access to everyone else's calendars? That said: When I change the entry in the /etc/init.d/tomcat6 to TOMCAT6_USER=root and then run sudo /etc/init.d/tomcat6 start I get [fail] and nothing is written to the logs under /var/log/tomcat6 and no entry for tomcat6 is created under /var/run How do I diagnose what is going wrong?

Because i work as a web designer/developer i need an extension for either chrome or ff that can do this and then i'll use that for my primary 'browsing' browser any tips would be greatly appreciated! ps. • Handbrake --stop-at parameter not working as intended

  Hey all, I run the following from command line: handbrakeCLI.exe -i SourceFile.mkv -o OutputFile.mkv --stop-at 120 According to the CLIGuide you can supply the --stop-at value as seconds (which is what I want, stop encoding 120 seconds into the file). My purpose for this is to quickly create a very high quality video clip from a full movie for testing other encoding processes. However, when I view my output file it is the entire movie. Any ideas?
