• 3D primitive rendering library

  Hi, I am looking for a library which would easily allow me to render shapes (cubes, spheres, lines, circles, etc.) in 3D3 and OpenGL if possible. I want to be able to rapidly design visual debugging tools and I am not proefficient enough in graphics rendering to do it myself (writing the low level stuff that is). The library would have to be for C/C++. I've already taken a look at the open-source 3d engine, but I feel those are too big for what I really need. Do any of you know if such library exist? If so, links would be appreciated!

• How to track inbound HTTP traffic using Plesk 10.4.4?

  I am running Plesk 10.4.4 on a Debian 6.0 server. The outbound traffic is being tracked but the inbound http traffic seems to be 0 at all times, i.e. looking at the DomainsTraffic and ClientsTraffic the http_in column is always 0. Is this a setting that I have missed? I've had a look and cannot find anything. How do I get Plesk to track the inbound HTTP traffic? I have already made sure that Home Tools & Settings Server settings had 'Include in the traffic calculation' set to 'inbound and outbound traffic', yet this does not solve the problem. Apache allows inbound traffic to be logged using %I in the log format, is there a way to get Plesk to add the %I to the log and then use that in bandwidth calculations?

  Possible Duplicate: The SEO Benefit of Breaking Up Content Onto Different Websites I was wondering if (assuming all your content is related) it would be better to put all your content under a single domain or multiple domains that link to each other. Lets say I have Site A which doesn't have a good search ranking. If I have a new product that I'm sure could get a good ranking on its own would I get a better search ranking for Site A if I - Add the new product as a new section to Site A. Or put the product on new Site B and link back to Site A. To give you an example if you were developing a few browser plugins would it be better (in terms of ranking) to showcase them all in the same site, or would you give them each their own domain's that link to each other? • Computer freezes up

  I am using the latest Ubuntu OS and up-to-date Chrome browser. Occasionally when I am working at a 5 hour stretch, the computer will freeze up completely and I will have to close down manually and reboot. When this happens I lose the material I have been working on as I cannot save it. And I often receive a notice at this time saying that my profile is not available or that I do not have a profile. I am an Ubuntu user not a technician and do not know what to do about this problem.

• Issue with div image size [migrated]

  I hope this helps explain the issue I am having I have recently designed a horizontal scrolling portfolio for a client, the rights and wrongs of horizontal web design, is a sligtly seperate topic but alas the client wanted something different. Im having a real issue with the bottom div though As the monitor size is reduced its creating the browser scroll bar down the side as the div image is overlapping the monitor size. Wouldnt be such a huge issue but because of the nature of the horizontal site its producing a diagional scrolling effect. Is there away to prevent the screen expanding from the actual monitor size using css or anyother solution? I'm probably staring at the answer as I type but brain doesnt seem to be working unfortunately.

• Windows not shown in Grub after installing 12.10

  I just installed 12.10 alongside Windows 7. I split my partition into two because disk reader during the installation didn't recognize Windows 7 as being installed on the computer. It installed correctly and I restarted only to find out it wasn't recognized in Grub also and booted straight to Ubuntu. I read this post and thought of using boot-repair would be fine but I gain this error: gpt detected. Please create bios-boot partition (>1MB, unformed filesystem, bios_grub flag). This can be performed via tools such as Gparted. Then try again. I've no idea what it means or what to do next. Suggestions would be appreciated and I have lost my Windows installation disk and I really don't want to have to go looking for it.

  Currently, my webpage images use the alt attribute only. Users complain that their IE8 cannot show the "tooltip" bubble when they mouse over the image. On Microsoft's What's New in Internet Explorer 8 page, it says The alt attribute is no longer displayed as the image tooltip when the browser is running in IE8 Standards mode. Instead, the target of the longDesc attribute is used as the tooltip if present; otherwise, the title is displayed. The alt attribute is still used as the Microsoft Active Accessibility name, and the title attribute is used as the fallback name only if alt is not present. I also found that many say title should be used. Which should I use to meet the industrial standard: alt, longdesc or title?

  The number of URLs on my website is constantly growing (by 10-50 per week or so). Should I Regularly submit an updated sitemap including all URLs. Have a sitemap of only the static content of my website. Have some tool which automatically creates sitemaps on any changes. As for 3) is googlesitemapgenerator useful in this respect? I am a bit anxious allowing a beta product mess with my apache. Is anybody using it or has another recommendation of similar tools?

  I am an active user of workspaces in Ubuntu. Until recently, pressing Ctrl+Alt+D (show desktop) acted only on the current workspace. For example, one might want to minimize the applications in the current workspace, open a file, and then bring some of them back. The current implementation works on all workspaces uniformly which is counter-intuitive to me. The reason for the existence of workspaces is the separation of logic -- one can have a browser open in one workspace, a text editor in another, a terminal in a third. The current functionality goes against this idea. Is there a way to restrict the action of the show desktop command to a single workspace only?

Buy some time by solving easy and solvable piece. Halving the difficulty by dividing the project into small goals and blocks. The more blocks you create the more hinges you have. Analogies which means : using other code blocks, yours or from other programmers . which has problem similar to the current problem. Experiments not guessing by writing "predicted end" code, in other word creating a hypothesis, about what will happen if you do this or that. Use your tools first, don't begin with a unknown code first. By making small goals you ll not get frustrated. Start from smallest problem. Are there other principles?

  i have been learning c++ for a while. i had also tried java a little and i am loving it both. but i'm confused what path to choose after i finish this. i mean what are the types of programming i can try after this. because of not knowing the different streams of programming and its languages, tools, etc i'm not able to plan anything. and i don't have a cs degree. so are valid diploma courses available for the same? please help me with this. i'm not getting motivated without good idea in hand. thanks in advance :)

• Unable to install Xdebug

  I've registered xdebug in php.ini (as per http://xdebug.org/docs/install) but it's not showing up when i run "php -m" or when i get a test page to run "phpinfo()". I've just installed the latest version of XAMPP. Can anyone provide any suggestions in getting xdebug to show up? • Microsoft Management Console stops working when I add snap-in to it

  I have Windows 7 Ultimate OS. I'm opening mmc.exe as administrator and trying add Certificates or any other snap-in, then while loading that snap-in MMC breaks and displays following message and after that it closes automatically once I click on close button on that message. What could be the problem?   Hello I have a cron job setup on one server to run a backup script in PHP that is hosted on another server. The command I've been using is formatted like this: curl -sS http://www.example.com/backup.php Lately I've been getting this error when the Cron runs curl: (52) Empty reply from server I have no idea what this means. It doesn't interfere with actual operation, but it does make the javascript console basically unusable. I'd like to know if there is a way to suppress warnings in the console? There are quite a few posts available regarding that topic but it appears that in order to solve my problem, it would be necessary to to make some very granular configurations on apache and also make sure that the right stuff is sent from the browser. So I reconsidered the strategy and found a much simpler solution. Just modify the vhost reverse proxy config to move the elastisearch server AND kibana on the same http port. This also adds even better security to Kibana.
