• Free SWF Obfuscator

  Does anybody know of a free flash obfuscator? All I can find are commercial ones with free trials. I have done numerous google searches, and have been unable to find what I am looking for. I know that obfuscators do not make your swf hack proof, but they make things harder. Things I am looking for in an obfuscator: Unlimited obfuscations No time limit No watermark (or on the left side only! Right side is no good, same with center) Able to publish work (no special player needed other than standard flashplayer) I really was surprised to see how hard it was to find a good obfuscator (tried encoder, protection, etc. instead as well) and how easy it is to find a decompiler.... It is imperative that my code be protected, at least partially, to discourage the hacking of my game.

• Creating Membership Tables, SPROCs, Views in Attached DB

  I have AdventureWorks database mdf file in my VS 2010 project. Is there anyway I can create Membership tables inside my AdventureWorks database. I know I can detach the database attach in SQL SERVER 2008. Create the tables and then detach. But I don't have SQL SERVER 2008 and I want to see if this can be done using command line tool. I tried this but no use: aspnet_regsql.exe -d AdventureWorks.mdf -A mr -E -S .\SQLEXPRESS Update: If I right click and see the properties of the AdventureWorks.mdf database then it shows the name as "C4BE6C8DA139A060D14925377A7E63D0_64A_10\ADVENTUREWORKSWEBFORMS\ADVENTUREWORKSWEBFORMS\ADVENTUREWORKS\APP_DATA\ADVENTUREWORKS.MDF" This is interesting!

• C++ linking issue on Visual Studio 2008 when crosslinking different projects on same solution

  I'm using Google Test Framework to set some unit tests. I have got three projects in my solution: FN (my project) FN_test (my tests) gtest (Google Test Framework) I set FN_test to have FN and gtest as references (dependencies), and then I think I'm ready to set up my tests (I've already set everyone to /MTd (not doing this was leading me to linking errors before)). Particularly, I define a class called Embark in FN I would like to test using FN_test. So far, so good. Thus I write a classe called EmbarkTest using googletest, declare a member Embark* and write inside the constructor: EmbarkTest() { e = new Embark(900,2010); } Then , F7 pressed, I get the following: 1>FN_test.obj : error LNK2019: unresolved external symbol "public: __thiscall Embark::Embark(int,int)" (??0Embark@@QAE@HH@Z) referenced in function "protected: __thiscall EmbarkTest::EmbarkTest(void)" (??0EmbarkTest@@IAE@XZ) 1>D:\Users\lg\Product\code\FN\Debug\FN_test.exe : fatal error LNK1120: 1 unresolved externals Does someone know what have I done wrong and/or what can I do to settle this?

• Unlocking Locked Out accounts using PowerShell (not with Quest AD cmdlets)

  I'm writing a GUI tool using PowerShell that is able to do most AD related tasks with just a user name and button click. I've done all the usual ones (Create / Remove Users, Create / Remove Security & Distribution Groups, Resetting Passwords, etc) but can't find away of unlocking a "Locked Out" account. I'm trying to do this without using Quest AD cmdlets as I want a more stand alone solution. So I'm wondering whether is possible with plain PowerShell (1.0 or 2.0) in a Windows 2003 Domain. • A device specific alpha bitmap fails after switching resolutions in remote desktop

  All my alpha bitmaps, created using CreateCompatibleBitmap(..), start to receive an error code 87 after someone signs in with Remote Desktop. I am assuming that this is because the resolution changed and I am using a device specific bitmap. I am wondering what the best route is to fix this issue without migrating to a device independent bitmap? Some options are: 1) Detect remote desktop change and flag all bitmaps to be reloaded (I have done this but it does not work as well as I would like). 2) Wait for error code 87 to happen on an alphablend image that previously worked, and then reload it (was going to try this next, im sure it will work, but a little hacky) 3) Detect random event such as WM_DISPLAYCHANGE or _ that tells me when I should do this (ie: a device change event I'm guessing, or maybe something more specific?) 4) _?   In the context of C# 4, ASP.NET MVC 2, and NHibernate; I've got the following scenario: Let's assume an entity Product that have an association to ProductType. In a product edit view; how do I implement that only a sub-set of the product's properties are shown in an elegant and DRY way? Use a product view model builder, and from different view models automagically generate the view with my own Html.EditorForModel() (including drop-downs and other stuff not out-of-the-box)? Attribute the properties of one view model and use the Html.EditorForModel() way aforementioned? Use one model, but implement different web controls (view strategies) (can it be done DRY?)? Something else entirely?

• Visio 2010 Reverse Engineer Oracle

  I have used Visio 2007 in the past to reverse engineer Oracle databases to get a flow scheme. I believe all Office 2007 products were x86 as well which is where I suspect my issue currently lies. I have since upgraded to Visio 2010 x64 and when I go to reverse engineer something from Oracle it shows up under Installed Visio Drivers but I can't seem to create a data source using it. My assumption here is it is because Oracle doesn't play nicely with x64 and with Visio being compiled as x64 I don't even get the option to use it. Has anyone done this with Visio 2010 x64 and Oracle yet? Or are there other tools you would recommend to reverse engineer and get a model such as the one generated by Visio?

  Objective: In support of a Windows Service that may have multiple instances on a single machine, use a Setup Project to create an MSI capable of: Receiving user input for Service Name Installing service Serializing Service Name from 1 (so that the proper name can be used in logging and uninstall) My initial hope was to set Service Name in App.config (and then retrieve it during uninstall upon instantiation of the ServiceInstaller. This seems to have been naive, because it is not accessible during the install. If MyInstaller extends Installer, it can call base.Install(); however, my attempts to write to app.config (within MyInstaller.Install() and after base.Install()) are inneffective. So while the service can be installed with a custom Service Name, that name is not serialized and the installer is most displeased upon uninstall. How should this be done?

• an HTML file is NOT an Excel file, right?

  we use an application that has an "export to excel" feature that doesn't work on PC's that done have outlook express installed. i know, you're thinking "WTF does outlook express have to do with excel files?" i asked the same thing, and here's what i found: the file being generated is actually one of those Microsoft Single File Web Pages (.mht) and NOT an excel file you need to have outlook express installed to actually view a .mht file. i've explained to their support people that just because you can slap a .xls on a file and excel will open it does not mean its an excel file, and does not mean that this is the right way to do it. how would you explain that this is not proper?

• Action Mailer Confirmation Emails - Ruby on Rails...

  I have successfully installed the Clearance Gem from ThoughtBot. Clearance sends a confirmation email upon a new sign_up and suggests adding: config.action_mailer.default_url_options = { :host => 'localhost:3000' } to your /environments/test.rb and development.rb. I have tried this and also config.action_mailer.default_url_options = { :host => '127.0.0.1', :port => 3000 } But can't seem to get rails to send the email. As I am new to both Ruby and Rails, I am wondering if there is some step/config that ThoughtBot is assuming I have already done to send emails. What am I doing wrong/missing? • Any way to get read timeouts with Java NIO/selectors?

  I'm converting a Java server application which used blocking IO and thread-per-client to NIO and a single IO thread (probably a thread pool after I get the basic implementation done). The one thing I am having an issue with is disconnecting clients after they have been idle for a period. I had previously been using SO_TIMEOUT and blocking reads. However, with selector-based IO, reads don't block... I was hoping that I'd be able to set a timeout and be able to select on read timeout, with something like SelectionKey.isReadTimeout(), but nothing like that seems to exist. The current best solution I have come up with is to have a Timer with a TimerTask which keeps track of the keys which are waiting on read, and then canceling them and re-scheduling them on each read. Is there a better solution?

• Work-around for PHP5's PDO rowCount MySQL issue

  I've recently started work on a new project using PHP5 and want to use their PDO classes for it. The problem is that the MySQL PDO Driver doesn't support rowCount() so there's no way to run a query and then get the number of affected rows, or rows returned, which is a pretty big issue as far as I'm concerned. I was wondering if anyone else has dealt with this before and what you've done to work around it. Having to do a fetch() or fetchAll() to check if any rows were affected or returned seems like a hack to me, I'd rather just do $stmt-numRows() or something similar.

  Hey guys, I have a WordPress site for a client. He owns a video store, and I made a site for him to update the list of movies, usually just the "new this week" movies. The Pod has a field where you insert the release date. 2010-04-20 Then there is a Pod page/template combo that calls the movies with a certain release date like this: $date = pods_url_variable('last'); He then just creates a blank WP page with the slug 2010-04-20 So when you open that page, the Pod page/template reads that slug and renders a list of the appropriate movies. My problem: I need these to be searchable. Is this possible. I'm also open to suggestions on other ways to go about making this site work. I need it to be as simple as that. Uploads some movies and creates a new page. Then the rest is done automatically. Please and thank you guys

Situation: I want to make three ajax calls in a click event. Each ajax call does a distinct operation and returns back data that is needed for a final callback.   Exchange Autodiscovery will give me the user's Display Name via the UserSettingName.UserDisplayName property. However, in cases where autodiscovery fails and connection needs to be done manually I can't figure out how to get the DisplayName. • UnauthorizedAccessException cannot resolve Directory.GetFiles failure

  Hi all, Directory.GetFiles method fails on the first encounter with a folder it has no access rights to. The method throws an UnauthorizedAccessException (which can be caught) but by the time this is done, the method has already failed/terminated. The code I am using is listed below: try { // looks in stated directory and returns the path of all files found getFiles = Directory.GetFiles(@directoryToSearch, filetype, SearchOption.AllDirectories); } catch (UnauthorizedAccessException) { } As far as I am aware, there is no way to check beforehand whether a certain folder has access rights defined. In my example, I'm searching on a disk across a network and when I come across a root access only folder, my program fails. I have searched for a few days now for any sort of resolve, but this problem doesn't seem to be very prevalent on here or Google. I look forward to any suggestions you may have, Regards

  Hi, I'm done some WinForms work in C# but now moving to have to develop a web application front end in .NET (C#). I have experience developing web apps in Ruby on Rails (& a little with Java with JSP pages & struts mvc). Should I jump straight to MVC framework? (as opposed to going ASP.net) That is from the point of view of future direction for Microsoft & as well ease in ramping up from myself. Or if you like, given my experience to date, what would the pros/cons for me re MVC versus ASP.net? thanks

  Let's say that i want make a request a to a web page which is hosted in Europe (i live in USA).My packets only consist the IP address of the web page, first the domain name to ip address transformation is done, then my packets start their journey through to europe. i assume that MAC addresses never used in this situation? are they? First, my packets deal with many routers on way how these routers communicate with each other?, are router addresses added to my packet headers ? Second, is there a specific path router to router comminication or which conditions affect this route? Third to cross the Atlantic Ocean, are cables used or... ?

• Rendering to a single Bitmap object from multiple threads

  What im doing is rendering a number of bitmaps to a single bitmap. There could be hundreds of images and the bitmap being rendered to could be over 1000x1000 pixels. Im hoping to speed up this process by using multiple threads but since the Bitmap object is not thread-safe it cant be rendered to directly concurrently. What im thinking is to split the large bitmap into sections per cpu, render them separately then join them back together at the end. I haven't done this yet incase you guys/girls have any better suggestions. Any ideas? Thanks

• Access 2007 VBA : Building a listbox with selection choices from another list box

  So there are 8 categories that may be associated to each order, but not necessarily all of them. So i was going to build a list box that allowed the user to double click each of the category they wish to associate when they have an "Order Detail" form opened up (unbound form that has hidden text boxes with all needed ID numbers). I want to have another empty text box right beside it that will allow me to append the selections (up to 8) so the user can see that they have been added. So one list box with the default choices, and when a choice is double clicked, it adds that choice to the second list box to see the tally so to speak.   Hi there, I have a flash animation with the size of 1280x1024 and I want to embed it into an HTML file. I want the flash file to be displayed in 800x600. • Recommended Model Based Testing Tools

  Does anyone have any suggestions on what Model Based Testing Tools to use? Is Spec Explorer/SPEC# worth it's weight in tester training? What I have traditionally done is create a Visio Model where I call out the states and associated variables, outputs and expected results from each state. Then in a completely disconnected way, I data drive my test scripts with those variables based on that model. But, they are not connected. I want a way to create a model, associate the variables in a business friendly way, that will then build the data parameters for the scripts. I can't be the first person to need this. Is there a tool out there that will do basically that? Short of developing it myself.
