  • Can I use "map" as a substitute for "for each"/"for in"?

    For a little while now javascript has the "map" function to loop over arrays. It appears possible to use it as a 'foreach' operator for example: var arr = ['a','b','c'] var doubles = arr.map(function(val){ return val + val }) Is this better or worse than saying for(var i in arr){ ... 50/50: saves having to use the index but adds a callback; it doesn't seem very common so I hesitate to use it but still want to.

  • Blackberry (Java) - Setting scrolling be not focused on objects on the screen

    I have a mainscreen which currently scrolls (and I have the arrows on the right) but the scrolling seems to be focused on the ButtonField objects that I have on the page. Is there any way to set the scrolling to be non-focused scrolling (moving a few pixels each time). Is there a way to set this? Other ideas I have had (which sound hacky so I want to avoid): - Placing NullFields around to scroll - Manually listening to the trackwheelRoll event and moving appropriately

    I'm trying to use a convention to map UInt32 properties to a SQL Server 2008 database. I don't seem to be able to create a solution based on existing web sources, due to updates in the way Fluent NHibernate works - i.e. examples are out of date. Here's my code as it currently stands (which, when I try to expose the schema, fails due to SQL Server not supporting UInt32). Apologies for the code being a little long, but I'm not 100% sure what is relevant to the problem, so I'm erring on the side of caution. I think I'll need a relatively comprehensive example, as I don't seem to be able to pull the pieces together into a working solution, at present.     I have a s:List where I've defined my own itemRenderer, and would like to insert a horizontal line separating items, similar to the way the mx:LinkBar works. I don't want to have a line at the top or bottom of the list, so I can't just include an upper or lower border in the itemRenderer. I was hoping the itemRenderer could be made aware of its index in the list, but I don't see how. Is there a way to do this?

  • Dynamic sizing of SSRS Report....

    Hello....I have a report with 12 Tablixes on it. The user can pcik and choose which one of these Tables and their associated data shows when the Report is generated. However, when chosing a subset of the 12 tables, the report shows blank space where I hide the non-selected tablse. Is there any way to make the report resize/fit the size of the selected tables...truncating the white space where the invisible tables are? Thanks

How can I perform this kind of validation with JPA 2.0/Hibernate? With a simple @NotNull annotation both getters must be non-null to pass validation.

    I want to extend the DataGrid component so that there is a (read-only) column for the row number like you see in spreadsheets. I came across this article http://www.cflex.net/showFileDetails.cfm?ObjectID=735 but it depends on the data being unique for each row so that it can index into the array. If the data is not unique (like for an empty grid) it doesn't work. How can I implement that?

    I have to provide a 508-compliant version of a page for the visually impaired and it isn't practical to just modify the page. Thus, I have created a new "reader-compatible" version of the page for the handicapped. The question is how I can tell if someone is using a reader rather than a standard browser? Is there a "header" or "useragent" value typically used by these non-standard browsers that I can look for? Thanks in advance!

Or do we have to compact/re-index the system occasionally to make it perform faster?

    Hi, During my file upload process, I found illegal character getting saved in Table. zurück.pdf, C _Word.doc were the file names. Here ü, space between C and _Word was found as ? in the Table Column. I have validate the filename in client side by replacing non-alpha numeric values by _ (underscore), but still it escapes and persist into DB. How can these handled in Client side?

  • invalid postback event instead of dropdown to datagrid

    I faced with funny situation. I created a page which is having some value, I set these value and control my post back event also. The problem is happening when I change a component index(ex reselect a combobox which is not inside my datagrid) then I dont know why without my page call the Page_Load it goes to create a new row in grid function and all of my parameter are null! I am just receiving null exception. So in other word I try to explain the situation: when I load my page I am initializing some parameter. then everything is working fine. in my page when I change selected item of my combo box, page suppose to go and run function related to that combo box, and call page_load, but it is not going there and it goes to rowcreated function. I am trying to illustrate part of my page.     Hi Everyone As everybody knows the en-US Keyboard-layout is the best one for programming. So I'd like to use it in my IDEs. But since I live in a non-en-US country I need the de-CH layout for all other applications. Now I wonder if it is possible to set the layout depending to which application currently has the focus.     I'm making a thread class to use as a wrapper for pthreads. I have a Queue class to use as a queue, but I'm having trouble with it.   • remote desktop computer viewer?

    I would like to install a quad core computer in my dorm at college and use my much slower laptop to be able to control the quad core just as if I had a quad core laptop (control as in i see the gui, not command line control)!
