  • How do I create a "global variable" in Java such that all classes can access it?

    - by Chrystle Soh
here's my problem: I have multiple classes that are part of the same package and they need access to a certain file path String filePath = "D:/Users/Mine/School/Java/CZ2002_Assignment/src/" Rather than declaring the same Filepath in every single class, is it possible to simply have a "global" type of variable of this FilePath so that all classes can access it and I only need to declare and update it once. Thanks

Hi, I have a server where I installed SQL Server 2008 and after I applied the SP1. Now, I want also to add the Analysis Services to this instance by using the "Add or remove features...". My questions are: Is it possible to add the Analysis Services on a server with SP1 already installed? How can I apply the SP1 also to the new Analysis Service feature? THANKS!

  • Is there a way to catch an attempt to access a non existant property or method?

    - by Tor Valamo
    For instance this code: function stuff() { this.onlyMethod = function () { return something; } } // some error is thrown stuff().nonExistant(); Is there a way to do something like PHP's __call as a fallback from inside the object? function stuff() { this.onlyMethod = function () { return something; } this.__call__ = function (name, params) { alert(name + " can't be called."); } } // would then raise the alert "nonExistant can't be called". stuff().nonExistant();

  • Using mod_negotiation to serve webp if the UA requests it.

    - by Rich Bradshaw
Is it possible to use mod_negotiation to serve up a webp image if the browser supports it, and a jpg otherwise? For instance, if I link to an image with the path /images/test, it serves the image found at /images/test.webp if the UA knows about webp, or jpg otherwise? I've tried poking around, but it seems that the Accept headers in Chrome at least look like Accept:*/*, rather than specifying the image type. If this isn't the way to do it, has anyone got any other suggestions?

This time my setup looks like this: one table with galleries names (gallery_id, gallery_name) and another table with galleries photos (photo_id, photo_gallery_id, photo_name). What I need is to get all the galleries with one random picture for each gallery. Is it possible to do this with a single query?

  • How to get an array size

I'd like to know how to get an array rows & columns size. For instance it would be something like this: int matrix[][] = { { 2, 3 , 4}, { 1, 5, 3 } } The size of this one would be 2 x 3. How can I calculate this without including other libraries but stdio or stdlib?

  • Python : Convert from C-Char to Int

    - by cuband
I have a string read in from a binary file that is unpacked using struct.unpack as a string of length n. Each byte in the string is a single integer (1-byte) representing 0-255. So for each character in the string I want to convert it to an integer. I can't figure out how to do this. Using ord doesn't seem to be on the right track...

  • Operating System Development

    - by j-t-s
Hi All I'm looking for any website(s) devoted and/or related to Operating System Development, and would love for you to kindly share any links you may have. I have searched myself, but keep winding up at the same old sites, and am wondering if there are others that just don't get noticed by the major search engines or something. I've put this as a community wiki, simply because I don't think it's very fair to judge an answer based on a single link. Thank you.

  • How do I read and write to a file using threads in java?

    - by WarmWaffles
I'm writing an application where I need to read blocks in from a single file, each block is roughly 512 bytes. I am also needing to write blocks simultaneously. One of the ideas I had was BlockReader implements Runnable and BlockWriter implements Runnable and BlockManager manages both the reader and writer. The problem that I am seeing with most examples that I have found was locking problems and potential deadlock situations. Any ideas how to implement this?

I'm trying to make a class that extends qwidget, that pops up a new window, I must be missing something fundamental, class NewQuery(QtGui.QWidget): def __init__(self, parent): QtGui.QMainWindow.__init__(self,parent) self.setWindowTitle('Add New Query') grid = QtGui.QGridLayout() label = QtGui.QLabel('blah') grid.addWidget(label,0,0) self.setLayout(grid) self.resize(300,200) when a new instance of this is made in main window's class, and show() called, the content is overlaid on the main window, how can I make it display in a new window?
