  • How to create a closure and pass in variable length argument list?

    - by Jian Lin
    We can create a closure p by capturing the arguments in the scope in the following code: var p = function() { }; if (typeof(console) != 'undefined' && console.log) { p = function() { console.log(arguments); }; } but the arguments are passed like an array to console.log, instead of passed one by one as in console.log(arguments[0], arguments[1], arguments[2], ... Is there a way to expand the arguments and pass to console.log like the way above? Note that p = console.log; works well in Firefox and IE 8 but not on Chrome.

  • Using 'load' in octave

    - by lollygagger
    Is there a way to tell the load function to only load until a certain line? I want to read in a data file and assign the numbers to an array, however, I want it to stop after it has created a 200 X 200. Could I also do this with a do-while loop and fgetl? When I try to use fgetl(fid, len) and give it 'len', it does not obey :-/ How can I tell octave to ignore the comment lines in an input file? They are '#' characters, so I figured octave would just automatically ignore them, but not so... Thanks.

  • How to access parent Iframe from javascript

    - by José Leal
    Well, I have an IFrame, which calls a same domain page. My problem is that I want to access some information from this parent Iframe from this called page (from javascript). How can I access this Iframe? Details: There are severals Iframes just like this one, that can have the same page loaded, because I am programming a windows environment. I intend to close this Iframe, that's why I need to know which I should close from inside him. I have an array keeping references to these Iframes EDIT: There iframes are generated dynamically

  • Circular dependencies in StructureMap - can they be broken with property injection?

    - by Andy
    Hi, I've got the simplest kind of circular dependency in structuremap - class A relies on class B in its constructor, and class B relies on class A in its constructor. To break the dependency, I made class B take class A as a property, rather than a constructor argument, but structuremap still complains. I've seen circular dependencies broken using this method in other DI frameworks - is this a problem with Structuremap or am I doing something wrong? Edit: I should mention that class B's property is an array of class A instances, wired up like this: x.For<IB>().Singleton().Use<B>().Setter(y => y.ArrayOfA).IsTheDefault();

  • Is Matlab faster than Python?

    - by kame
    I want to compute magnetic fields of some conductors using the biot-savart-law and I want to use a 1000x1000x1000 matrix. Before I use Matlab, but now I want to use Python. Is Python slower than Matlab? How can I make Python faster? EDIT: Maybe the best way is to compute the big array with c/c++ and then transfering them to python. I want to visualise then with VPython. EDIT2: Could somebody give an advice for which is better in my case: C or C++?

  • java reading numbers, interpreting as octal, want interpreted as string

    - by user331401
    hello, i am having an issue, where java is reading an array list from a YAML file of numbers, or strings, and it is interpreting the numbers as octal if it has a leading 0, and no 8-9 digit. is there a way to force java to read the yaml field as a string? code: ArrayList recordrarray = (ArrayList) sect.get("recordnum"); if (recordrarray != null) { recno = join (recordrarray, " "); } HAVE ALSO TRIED: Iterator<String> iter = recordrarray.iterator(); if (iter.hasNext()) recno = " " +String.valueOf(iter.next()); System.out.println(" this recnum:" + recno); while (iter.hasNext()){ recno += ""+String.valueOf(iter.next())); System.out.println(" done recnum:" + String.valueOf(iter.next())); } the input is such: 061456 changes to 25390 061506 changes to 25414 061559 - FINE it took a while to figure out what it was doing, and apparently this is a common issue for java, ideas? thanks

  • Confusion Matrix with number of classified/misclassified instances on it (Python/Matplotlib)

    - by Pinkie

  • Efficient heaps in purely functional languages

    - by Kim
    As an exercise in Haskell, I'm trying to implement heapsort. The heap is usually implemented as an array in imperative languages, but this would be hugely inefficient in purely functional languages. So I've looked at binary heaps, but everything I found so far describes them from an imperative viewpoint and the algorithms presented are hard to translate to a functional setting. How to efficiently implement a heap in a purely functional language such as Haskell? Edit: By efficient I mean it should still be in O(n*log n), but it doesn't have to beat a C program. Also, I'd like to use purely functional programming. What else would be the point of doing it in Haskell?

    This simple regex matching returns a string instead of an object on every browser but the latest firefox... text = "language. Filename: My Old School Yard.avi. File description: File size: 701.54 MB. View on Megavideo. Enter this, here:" name = text.match(/(Filename:)(.*) File /); alert(typeof(name)); as far as i know this the match function is suppose to return an object (Array). Has anyone come across this issue?

  • Binding the property to a control defined inside a listboxitem template

    - by Malcolm
    I have a class called ledgerObject : public class LedgerObject { public ChargeLine ChargeLine{ get; set; } public DelegateCommand Click_hyperbnCommand{ get; private set; } public LedgerObject() { this.Click_hyperbnCommand = new DelegateCommand(click_btn); } private void click_btn(object args) { } } The chargeLine which is the property of this class is itself a class and has some properties in it. So I am binding the datacontext of a listbox to an array of LedgerObject, and I want to bind the textblock control defined inside a listboxitem template to the property of a ChargeLine. Any idea or suggestion will help. I have tried this but not working: <TextBlock Margin="4 0 4 0" Grid.Column="3" Text="{Binding Path=ChargeLine.SimCode}" TextDecorations="Underline" Foreground="Red" />

  • Increment global variable on click in flash, actionscript 3

    - by msandbot
    Hi, Making a flash page that can cycle through these three images on mouseclick. For some reason the local changes to count are not reflected on the global one. I tried _global but the syntax was odd and gave me errors. How should I implement this? import flash.events.Event; var images:Array = ["images/image.jpg", "images/image2.jpg", "images/image3.jpg"]; var count:int = 0; forward.addEventListener(MouseEvent.CLICK, loadPhoto); function loadPhoto(evt:Event){ if(count>2){ count==0; } trace(count); imageFrame.source = images[count]; count++; }

  • Binding Many-to-Many Core Data relationships in UI

    - by Kevin
    Basically my setup is this. I have a many-to-many relationship in Core Data where a student entity can have multiple courses, and a course entity can have multiple students. My problem is in trying to figure out how to bind this relationship to the UI in Interface Builder. I want to be able to add courses to a course array controller, then have those courses displayed in a popup menu in a NSTableView in the Edit Student window where you can add courses to a student. This is what I have so far: http://vimeo.com/10671726 It's probably easier to understand from the video. Thanks

  • Symfony forms: how to change default widget for form generation

    - by caymcorp
    I'm using a custom Widget for date fields, and I want to use it in all my forms. The problem is that symfony uses the default sfWidgetFormDate. What I want is to change this default widget in order to generate forms with my custom Widget. I don't want to change by hand all the forms generated. The only approach I have found is the treak of modify BaseFormDoctrine.php: public function setup() { foreach($this->getWidgetSchema()->getFields() as $name=>$widget) { if($widget instanceof sfWidgetFormDate) { $this->widgetSchema[$name] = new sfWidgetFormJQueryDate(array( 'config' => '{}', 'image'=>'/images/calendar.png', )); } } }

  • c printing string syntax

    - by user535256
    Hello guys, Just stuck on c syntax regarding strings. Say I have a string like (name[5]="peter";) in c say if I just wanted to print the last character of string or check the last character of the string, which in this case would be 'r' how can I do this? The way I was thinking does not seem to work name[5]="peter"; if(name[5]=="r") printf("last character of name is r"); Question: is there some sort of function to do this that can check one character of array, is a certain value, like name[5] is 'r' in string peter or likewise name[1] is 'n' Also how do I use printf to print that certain char, having problems using printf("last character of name is %s",name[5]) ??? Thanks

  • What software design pattern is best for the following scenario (C#)

    - by askjdh
    I have a gps device that records data e.g. datetime, latitude, longitude I have an sdk that reads the data from the device. The way the data is read: A command packet (basically a combination of int values in a struct) is sent to the device. The device responds with the data in fixed size chunks e.g. 64bytes Depending on the command issued I will get back differect data structs e.g. sending command 1 to the device returns a struct like struct x { id int, name char[20] } command 2 returns a collection of the following structs (basically it boils down to an array of the structs - y[12]) struct y { date datetime, lat decimal, lon decimal } I would then want to convert the struct to a class and save the data to a database. What would be the best way to encapsulate the entire process, preferably using some established design pattern? Many thanks M

  • Paging doesn't work in the Joomla Article Manager in the admin section

    - by SkippyFire
    I inherited a Joomla site that is having a problem with the article manager in the admin section. The pagination doesn't work! If I click the page number, forward, back, or page size, nothing happens! So I found out that someone had previously installed the iJoomla SEO plugin, but it never worked so they removed it. I think it is incompatible with the version I have. I setup a local environment with almost the same setup (I have 5.2.11 vs the servers 5.2.13) with Wamp Server, and I found that some of the session variables are missing! When dumped via print_r(), the $_SESSION variable is missing the "com_content", "global", and "com_plugins" arrays! So I guess that is the reason that paging doesn't work, because the "com_content" array looks like it has paging info in it. (maybe I'm wrong) So I'm running Version 1.5.13 on PHP Version 5.2.13 Anyone know why this would happen? Thanks in advance!

  • Complex SQL query... 3 tables and need the most popular in the last 24 hours using timestamps!

    - by Stefan
    Hey guys, I have 3 tables with a column in each which relates to one ID per row. I am looking for an sql statement query which will check all 3 tables for any rows in the last 24 hours (86400 seconds) i have stored timestamps in each tables under column time. After I get this query I will be able to do the next step which is to then check to see how many of the ID's a reoccurring so I can then sort by most popular in the array and limit it to the top 5... Any ideas welcome! :) Thanks in advanced. Stefan

  • Is POSTing a Dictionary to an .NET MVC action possible?

    - by Brenton Alker
    I have a form which contains a series of fields like: <input type="text" name="User[123]" value="Alice" /> <input type="text" name="User[456]" value="Bob" /> ... Where the index of the User array (123 and 456) are ID's associated with the value. I'm trying to update these values in the controller. My thinking is that a Dictionary that maps ID to name would work, but creating the action like: public void Save(Dictionary<string, string> user) { // ... } results in the user parameter being null. So, is passing a Dictionary possible? or, is there another method to achieve this?

  • Write wave files to memory in Java

    - by Cliff
    I'm trying to figure out why my servlet code creates wave files with improper headers. I use: AudioSystem.write( new AudioInputStream( new ByteArrayInputStream(memoryBytes), new AudioFormat(22000, 16, 1, true,false), memoryBytes.length ), AudioFileFormat.Type.WAVE, servletOutputStream ); taking a byte array from memory containing raw PCM samples and a servlet output stream that gets returned to the client. In the result I get a normal wave file but with zeros in the chunk size fields. Is the API broken? I would think that the size could be filled in using the size passed in the audio input stream. But now, after typing this out I'm thinking its not making this info available to the outer write() method on AudioSystem. It seems like the AudioSystem.write call needs a size parameter unless it is able to pull the size from the stream... which wouldn't work with an arbitrary sized stream. Does anyone know how to make this example work?

More info: generatedNumbers is array with four elements of NSNumber (4,1,3,2) buttons are set in UIView via IB and are tagged (1,2,3,4) -(IBAction) myFunction:(id) sender { int i, value; for (i = 0; i<[generatedNumbers count]; i++) { value = [[generatedNumbers objectAtIndex:i] intValue]; UIButton *button = (UIButton *)[self.view viewWithTag:i+1]; UIImage *img = [UIImage imageNamed:[NSString stringWithFormat:@"%d.png",value]]; [button setImage:img forState:UIControlStateNormal]; [img release]; usleep(500000); } }

  • Marshal a list of objects from VB6 to C#

    - by Andrew
    I have a development which requires the passing of objects between a VB6 application and a C# class library. The objects are defined in the C# class library and are used as parameters for methods exposed by other classes in the same library. The objects all contain simple string/numeric properties and so marshaling has been relatively painless. We now have a requirement to pass an object which contains a list of other objects. If I was coding this in VB6 I might have a class containing a collection as a member variable. In C# I might have a class with a List member variable. Is it possible to construct a C# class in such a way that the VB6 application could populate this inner list and marshal it successfully? I don't have a lot of experience here but I would guess Id have to use an array of Object types.
