Suppose that I have a legacy java application with thousands of lines of code which do:
try {
// stuff
} catch (Exception e) {
// eat the exception
}
Is there any global option that I could flip or 3rd party JAR which would log all "eaten" exceptions? I know that I could do a massive find replace (search for catch (Exception e) { and replace it with catch(Exception e) { logException(e);) but I was wondering if there was a better solution. Thanks!

Is it possible to solve a problem of O(n!) complexity within a reasonable time given infinite number of processing units and infinite space?
The typical example of O(n!) problem is brute-force search: trying all permutations (ordered combinations).
how do you run the cmdlet "get-mailbox" outside the current default scope of the current domain?
When I run get-mailbox -OrganizationalUnit bob.com/bobsage
I get an error message saying:
Get-mailbox: The requested search root 'rmcv.com/rmcvanguard' is not in the current default scope 'ems-1.net'. Cannot perform searches outside the current default scope.

Dokuwiki us prototype, my site use Jquery.
If there is another way to alter Dokuwiki javascript, instead using jQuery.noConflict(), or/and var $j = jQuery on my jQuery?
I open all .js files on Dokuwiki, search for "$(" and replace it with "$DW(", and it works like a charms, but I had to deal with every Dokuwiki plugins that has javascript in it.
So, how to alter "$" in prototype libaries/ Dokuwiki?
I put a login box alone with a keyword search box in 404.html in a Django project so in case a 404 error is raised, visitors get more options to jump to other parts.
But the CSRF middleware doesn't work in 404 error page with no csrf token rendered. I tried move 'django.middleware.csrf.CsrfViewMiddleware' to first of MIDDLEWARE_CLASSES in settings.py but did not work either.
Anyone knows a solution?

I want to show no scope bar when the table is empty (before the search bar edits for the first time), no scope bar when it's editing, and finally show it when editing done. I know about the UISearchBarDelegate protocol, but I don't know how to show/hide the scope bar with animation. I know UISearchBar has setShowsScopeBar:, but no setShowsScopeBar:animated: the way it does for setShowsCancelButton:animated.
I have 0 experience with python, very little with regex and I'm trying to figure out what this small snippet of
python regex would give back from a http response header Set-Cookie entry:
REGEX_COOKIE = '([A-Z]+=[^;]+;)'
resp = urllib2.urlopen(req)
re.search(REGEX_COOKIE, resp.info()['Set-Cookie']).group(1)
Can one give a simple example of a Set-Cookie value and explain what this would match on + return?

I am trying to do this, and running into problems. The parent project needs to access the class SettingsViewController from the child project. I have put the child project path into my header search paths. Everything compiles OK, but I get linker errors, as follows:
Undefined symbols:
"_OBJC_METACLASS_$_SettingsViewController", referenced from:
_OBJC_METACLASS_$_StatisticsViewController in StatisticsViewController.o
"_OBJC_CLASS_$_SettingsViewController", referenced from:
objc-class-ref-to-SettingsViewController in SelectionViewController.o
_OBJC_CLASS_$_StatisticsViewController in StatisticsViewController.o
ld: symbol(s) not found
collect2: ld returned 1 exit status
How can I fix this?
Hi,
After search a long time for a performance bug, I read abut denormal foating point values.
I have an Intel Core 2 Duo and I am compiling with gcc, using "-O2".
So what do I do? Can I somehow instruct g++ to avoid denormal values?
If not, can I somehow test if a float is denormal?
Thanks!

Hi everybody,
We are developing an English-Turkish dictionary website.
"Bin" means "Thousand" in Turkish. So when a user asks for http://tureng.com/search/bin we should show her the meaning of "Bin" in English. However, since /bin is a special directory, she got a 404.
Any ideas to solve it?
Thanks.
Has anybody ever used or have useful comments on Itzam/core?
I am attracted to it partly because I was impressed by the author's book C++ Components & Algorithms and as a possible backend for my search for a large non-SQL portable database engine.
Hi Guys,
I need to implement a Query Object Pattern in Java for my customizable search interface (of a webapp I'm writing).
Does anybody know where I can get an example/tutorial of Query Object Pattern (Martin Fowler's QoP)?
Thanks in Advance

Problem on WindowsXP (likely will happen on all Win installs), first time using Mercurial. I found the answer in an inobvious place so I'm asking/answering the question myself so others don't have to search like I did.
First time using Mercurial on machine.
Add new repoz:

Hey,
You probably already know about this
I guess it's a programming question.
I've been trying to find with google the info, but the amount of results using "open stackoverflow" pointing to questions here in stackoverflow is making the search a bit hard. So what better place to ask than here.
Where can i find information/documentation on how to install/use/extend the SO q&a system?
I want to create a clone for a local community from my city.
Will search engines see the non-www as a different domain from the www version?Whether it is a must to put redirection for non-www to www?

How can i change the 'space' of 'albert' if i dont know if he is a donkey or a zebra?
self.object_attr = {'donkey': {
'name': 'roger', 'zone': 'forrest', 'space': [0, 0]}{
'name': 'albert', 'zone': 'forrest', 'space': [1, 1]}
'zebra': {
'name': 'roger', 'zone': 'forrest', 'space': [0, 0]}{
'name': 'albert', 'zone': 'forrest', 'space': [1, 1]}}
This can search for albert in the dictionary but how can i change his location?
for i in self.object_attr
for j in self.object_attr[x][name]
if j == 'albert'
Hello
What XML-parser do you recommend for the following purpose:
The XML-file (formatted, containing whitespaces) is around 800 MB. It mostly contains three types of tag (let's call them n, w and r).
They have an attribute called id which i'd have to search for, as fast as possible.
Removing attributes I don't need could save around 30%, maybe a bit more.
First part for optimizing the second part: Is there any good tool (command line linux and windows if possible) to easily remove unused attributes in certain tags? I know that XSLT could be used. Or are there any easy alternatives? Also, I could split it into three files, one for each tag to gain speed for later parsing...
Speed is not too important for this preparation of the data, of course it would be nice when it took rather minutes than hours.
Second part: Once I have the data prepared, be it shortened or not, I should be able to search for the ID-attribute I was mentioning, this being time-critical.
Estimations using wc -l tell me that there are around 3M N-tags and around 418K W-tags. The latter ones can contain up to approximately 20 subtags each. W-Tags also contain some, but they would be stripped away.
"All I have to do" is navigating between tags containing certain id-attributes. Some tags have references to other id's, therefore giving me a tree, maybe even a graph. The original data is big (as mentioned), but the resultset shouldn't be too big as I only have to pick out certain elements.
Now the question: What XML parsing library should I use for this kind of processing? I would use Java 6 in a first instance, with having in mind to be porting it to BlackBerry.
Might it be useful to just create a flat file indexing the id's and pointing to an offset in the file? Is it even necessary to do the optimizations mentioned in the upper part? Or are there parser known to be quite as fast with the original data?
Little note: To test, I took the id being on the very last line on the file and searching for the id using grep. This took around a minute on a Core 2 Duo.
What happens if the file grows even bigger, let's say 5 GB?
I appreciate any notice or recommendation.
Thank you all very much in advance and regards
