  I am running a JSP/Servlet Web application and out of nowhere we experienced some random problems that don't make any sense. I checked the catalina.out file to check the log files, and I noticed it contained some of the following messages SEVERE: Error starting static Resources java.lang.IllegalArgumentException: Invalid or unreadable WAR file : error in opening zip file INFO: validateJarFile(/home/weremo/appservers/ apache-tomcat-6.0.26/webapps /WMA/WEB-INF/lib/ servlet-api.jar) - jar not loaded. See Servlet Spec 2.3, section 9.7.2. Offending class: javax/servlet/Servlet.class I am aware of what this message means, but am in the dark as to what could have caused it, or what effects it could have on the application.

  I am using Heroku with a Ruby on Rails application, and running from Safari. I have the following Ajax call: $.ajax({ type : 'POST', url : '/test_page', data : {stuff: arr1}, dataType : 'script' }); arr1 is supposed to be an array of objects. There's a console.log right before that, and it is: [Object, Object, Object, Object, Object, ...] However, I got an error on the server side when I made this ajax call.   Using the xml configuration of log4cxx (which is identical in configuration to log4j). I want to have a certain logger output exclusively to a specific appender (have it the only logger which outputs to that appender). I found that it's possible to bind a logger to a specific appender like this: <logger name="LoggerName"> <level value="info"/> <appender-ref ref="AppenderName"/> </logger> but it that logger still outputs to the root appender because I have this standard piece in the conf file: <root> <priority value="DEBUG"/> <appender-ref ref="OtherAppender"/> </root> How can I exclude that logger from the root logger? in other words, how do I configure the log such that all loggers inherit the appenders of the root logger except a specific logger?

• Real-time aggregation of files from multiple machines to one

  I need a tool which gets a list of machine names and file wildcards. Then it connects to all these machines (SSH) and begins to monitor changes (appendings to the end) in each file matched by wildcards. New lines in each such file are saved to the local machine to the file with the same name. (This is a task of real-time log files collecting.) I could use ssh + tail -f, of course, but it is not very robust: if a monitoring process dies and then restarts, some data from remote files may be lost (because tail -f does not save the position at which it is finished before). I may write this tool manually, but before - I'd like to know if such tool already exists or not.

  I have a simple Maven2 project with tests written for TestNG. When I say mvn test Maven2 compiles my test, but don't run them. I already checked this page: http://maven.apache.org/general.html#test-property-name. This is not my case. Anybody can help? • Question about a http form GET method, using query arguments

  I am looking at a bug in WebSVN where when I get into a file log and click on compare, it looses the repository name as part of the request. The details are unimportant. However, I've tracked down the bug to a http form that looks like this: <form method="get" action="comp.php?repname=Binaries&amp;" id="compare"> .... <input type="hidden" name="KEY" value="VALUE"> Is this supposed to work? Will both the "repname" argument, specified as part of the URL, and the hidden value be sent? It seems Chrome 4.1 only sends the hidden argument, and removes the repname parameter altogether. Is this correct? I fixed it temporarily, pending more information, by adding another hidden field for repname with the same value, and now everything works, I'm just wondering if Chrome or WebSVN is in fault here.

  Is it possible to get the original variable name of a variable passed to a function? E.g. foobar = "foo" def func(var): print var.origname So that: func(foobar) Returns: >>foobar EDIT: All I was trying to do was make a function like: def log(soup): f = open(varname+'.html', 'w') print >>f, soup.prettify() f.close() .. and have the function generate the filename from the name of the variable passed to it. I suppose if it's not possible I'll just have to pass the variable and the variable's name as a string each time.

  I need to be able to mimic 'tail -f' with Java. I'm trying to read a log file as it's being written by another process, but when I open the file to read it, it locks the file and the other process can't write to it anymore. Any help would be greatly appreciated! I'm interested in creating my own website, or possibly just a stand alone windows program for tracking my finances in ASP.NET or C#.NET. I'm assuming the answer is no, but is there any way that a personal developer can download transactions from financial websites like these? I know once you login to most financial sites you can download a CSV or Quicken file. Yet I really like how I can log-in to my Mint.com account and update all my accounts with one click.

• Why would an ASP.NET site become veeeeeery slow after the network connection dropped?

  I have an ASP.NET 3.5 site published in IIS 7.5 on Windows Server 2008 R2 64 bit. The pages are accessed over SSL One of our testers has determined that if, during a postback, he blocks network access on his PC, and then after a few seconds reconnects, our site becomes excruciatingly slow. Like 30 seconds per page load. If he hits the refresh button in his browser it stays slow. If he closes the tab, then re-opens it, it becomes fast again. This behavior happens with both IE 8 and the latest firefox. There are no event log entries on the server when this happens My question: - Has anyone seen this same behavior? - Does anyone have a theory as to what causes it?

  (using Python-Sphinx Documentation tool) I have a .txt log file I'd like to build into _build/html unaltered. What do I need to alter in conf.py, index.rst, etc. Here is the layout: src/ index.rst some_doc.rst somefile.txt How do I get somefile.txt into the html build? I tried adding a line like this to index.rst: Contents: .. toctree:: :maxdepth: 2 some_doc "somefile.txt" hoping it would work by magic, but no magic here! Assuming this is even possible, what would I put in some_doc.rst to refer/link to that file? Note Yes, I'm aware I could put it in /static and just be done with it, but that seems like a total hack, and ugly.

  Hi, I have a byte[] with some data in it, I would like to write this byte array AS-IS to the log file using log4.net. The problems that i am facing is that There are no overload for byte[] in TextWriter, so even implementing an IObjectRenderer is of no use. I dont have access to the underlying Stream object of Log4.net Also tried converting byte[] into char[] still when i write it, it adds an extra byte. Is this even possible with Log4.net. • Facebook Connect settings for popup dialog

  I'm in the process of implementing Facebook Connect for my site, everything seems to be working fine so far except that the look of my popup dialog upon clicking on "Login with Facebook" is totally different from what I see on other sites like say Posterous. I'm only getting a popup with the msg "Do you want to log in to with your Facebook account?" followed by the 2 login fields whereas Posterous has a more detailed dialog box with 2 images and more descriptive text. Am i missing out on some configuration settings here or? Thanks

• Trouble getting Flash socket policy file to work.

  Basically I'm using Flash to connect to a Java server. Despite my Java application replying to the , in the Flash debug log it lists (not sure about the order as there are lots): * Security Sandbox Violation * Connection to 192.168.1.86:4049 halted - not permitted from http://127.0.0.1:8888/Current/wander.swf Warning: Timeout on xmlsocket://192.168.1.86:4049 (at 3 seconds) while waiting for socket policy file. This should not cause any problems, but see http://www.adobe.com/go/strict_policy_files for an explanation. Error: Request for resource at xmlsocket://192.168.1.86:4049 by requestor from http://127.0.0.1:8888/Current/wander.swf is denied due to lack of policy file permissions. What I don't understand is, the server (port 4049) receives the request, outputs the policy file and then closes the connection, surely it shouldn't time out? The policy file I'm using is: <?xml version="1.0"?> <cross-domain-policy><allow-access-from domain="*" to-ports="*" /> </cross-domain-policy>

• codeigniter: how to redirect after login to current controller (php_self in regular php)

  Well it's not really a problem but I check if the user exist and log them in and redirect to site/members_area, but I don't want to send the user to a specific page but i want to reload the current controller.
