  • ASP.NET "Object reference not set..." error

    Hi, I have a website written using ASP.NET. We have a development machine and a deployment server. The site works great on the development machine, but when is transfered (using simple FTP Upload) generates strange behavior. It starts working just fine, but after a while stops working and throws an exception "Exception: Object reference not set to an instance of an object.". The deal is that the absolute path of the website on the development machine is different than on the deployment server (and why should they be similar?) and the exact error is: Exception: Object reference not set to an instance of an object. at SOMEPROJECT_Objects.Player..ctor(Int32 PlayerID) in C:\inetpub\wwwroot\SOMEPROJECTSolution\ALLPROJECT\SOMEPROJECT_Objects\Player.cs:line 123 at SOMEPROJECT_GameLayer.M_Game.PlayerActiveGame(Int32 PlayerID) in C:\inetpub\wwwroot\SOMEPROJECTSolution\ALLPROJECT\SOMEPROJECT_GameLayer\M_Game.cs:line 85 at Web.getsms.Page_Load(Object sender, EventArgs e) in C:\inetpub\wwwroot\SOMEPROJECTSolution\ALLPROJECT\SOMEPROJECT-sms\Web\getsms.aspx.cs:line 59 The address that it is looking for is the address on the DEVELOPMENT machine, where as the site now resides on the deployment server.     Hello, I want to insert a hash in the db using Storage::nfreeze but the data is not inserted properly. the code is as follow: %rec=(); $rec{'name'} = 'my name'; $rec{'address'} = 'my address'; my $order1 = new Order(); $order1->set_session(\%rec); $self->createOrder($order1); sub createOrder { my $self = $_[0]; my $order = $_[1]; # Retrieve the fields to insert into the database. my $st = $dbh->prepare("insert into order (session,.......) values(?,........)"); my $session = %{$order->get_session()}; $st->execute(&Storable::nfreeze(\%session),.....); $st->finish(); } sub getOrder { ... my $session = &Storable::thaw( $ref->{'session'} ); ..... } the thaw is working fine because I tested it withe some rows that have been inserted correctly. but when I try to get a row that was inserted using the createOrder subroutine, I get an error saying" Storable binary image v36.65 more recent than I am (v2.7) at blib/lib/Storable.pm (autosplit into blib/lib/auto/Storable/thaw.al) line 415 the error comes from the line that have thaw. the nfreeze did not store the hash properly. Can someone point me to what i m doing wrong in the createOrder subroutine? Thanks in advance. I know the module version have nothing to do with the problem.

  • Regular expression for finding non-breaking string names in code and then breaking them up for SQL q

    I am trying to devlop a regex for finding camel case strings in several code files I am working with so I can break them up into separate words for use in a SQL query. I have strings of the form... EmailAddress FirstName MyNameIs And I want them like this... Email Address First Name My Name Is An example SQL query which I currently have is... select FirstName, MyNameIs from MyTables I need the queries in the form... select FirstName as 'First Name', MyNameIs as 'My Name Is' from MyTables Any time a new capital letter appears that should be a new grouping which I can pick out of the matched string. I currently have the following regex... ([A-Z][a-z]+)+ Which does match the cases I have shown above but when I want to perform a replace I need to define groups. Currently I have tried... (([A-Z])([a-z]+))+ Which sort of works. It will pick out "Address" as the first grouping from "EmailAddress" as opposed to "Email" which is what I was expecting. No doubt there is something I'm misunderstanding here so any help is greatly appreciated.

  • How does the socket API accept() function work?

    The socket API is the de-facto standard for TCP/IP and UDP/IP communications (that is, networking code as we know it). However, one of its core functions, accept() is a bit magical. To borrow a semi-formal definition: accept() is used on the server side. It accepts a received incoming attempt to create a new TCP connection from the remote client, and creates a new socket associated with the socket address pair of this connection. In other words, accept returns a new socket through which the server can communicate with the newly connected client. The old socket (on which accept was called) stays open, on the same port, listening for new connections. How does accept work? How is it implemented? There's a lot of confusion on this topic. Many people claim accept opens a new port and you communicate with the client through it. But this obviously isn't true, as no new port is opened. You actually can communicate through the same port with different clients, but how? When several threads call recv on the same port, how does the data know where to go? I guess it's something along the lines of the client's address being associated with a socket descriptor, and whenever data comes through recv it's routed to the correct socket, but I'm not sure. It'd be great to get a thorough explanation of the inner-workings of this mechanism.

  • Why don't this toggle animation execute in all browsers

    hi i wonder if there are some GUI softwares to administrate a svn repo? or do you actually have to log into the ubuntu server with ssh and use all the svn commands to copy the trunk to a branch, merge the data back and forth, copy to a tag, delete and so on. im using netbeans in mac. i think it's only handling the communication between a local project and the repo. not the flows between trunc, branch and tag (creating, deleting, viewing differences etc)

  • How to know when a user has really released a key in Java?

    (Edited for clarity) I want to detect when a user presses and releases a key in Java Swing, ignoring the keyboard auto repeat feature. I also would like a pure Java approach the works on Linux, Mac OS and Windows. Requirements: When the user presses some key I want to know what key is that; When the user releases some key, I want to know what key is that; I want to ignore the system auto repeat options: I want to receive just one keypress event for each key press and just one key release event for each key release; If possible, I would use items 1 to 3 to know if the user is holding more than one key at a time (i.e, she hits 'a' and without releasing it, she hits "Enter"). The problem I'm facing in Java is that under Linux, when the user holds some key, there are many keyPress and keyRelease events being fired (because of the keyboard repeat feature).     I need to parse strings inputs where the columns are separated by columns and any field that contains a comma in the data is wrapped in quotes (commas separated, quoted text identifiers). For this project I need to remove the quotes and any commas that occur between pairs of quotes. Basically, I need to remove commas and quotes that are contained in fields while preserving the commas that are used to separate the fields. Here's a little code I put together that handles the simple scenario: // Sample input 1: This works and covers 99% of the records that I need to parse. string str1 = "[email protected],2010/03/27 12:2:02,,some_first_name,some_last_name,,\"This Address Works, Suite 200\",Some City,TN,09876-5432,9795551212x123,XYZ"; str1 = Regex.Replace(str1, "\"([^\"^,]*),([^\"^,]*)\"", "$1$2"); Console.WriteLine(str1); // Outputs: [email protected],2010/03/27 12:2:02,,some_first_name,some_last_name,,This Address Works Suite 200,Some City,TN,09876-5432,9795551212x123,XYZ Although this code works for most of my records, it doesn't work when a field contains more than one commas. What I would like to do is modify the code so that it remove each instance of a comma contained within the column no matter how many commas there are in the field. I don't want to hard code only handling 2 commas, or 3 commas, or 25 commas. The code should just remove all the commas in the field. I use the Camera.getCamera() method and in turn Camera.names to get a list of camera attached with the system. Unfortunately, if the camera is already in use by another application, say a desktop application on user's system, the browser is crashed. Is there any way that I can detect if a specific camera from the list of available camera is already in use by any other application?

  • File permissions changed between OS X and Windows

    I zipped a rails project from OS X and sent it to a colleague who works on Windows. He updated the source, zipped the whole project folder and sent the zip file back to me. After unzipping the project, I found that the file permissions information is kind of lost. For example, the script/server is changed from -rwxr-xr-x to -rw-r--r--. Is there a way to preserver the file permission flags, when transferring files between mac and windows? Thanks

  • Database Functional Programming in Clojure

The hierarchy consists of a Person table with subsidiary Address, Phone, etc. tables. I have to dump thousands of rows, so I would like to do so incrementally and not keep the whole XML file in memory. I would like to isolate non-pure function code to a small portion of the application. I am thinking that this might be a good opportunity to explore FP and concurrency in Clojure. I can also show the benefits of immutable data and multi-core utilization to my skeptical co-workers. I'm not sure how the overall architecture of the application should be. I am thinking that I can use an impure function to retrieve the database rows and return a lazy sequence that can then be processed by a pure function that returns an XML fragment. For each Person row, I can create a Future and have several processed in parallel (the output order does not matter). As each Person is processed, the task will retrieve the appropriate rows from the Address, Phone, etc. tables and generate the nested XML. I can use a a generic function to process most of the tables, relying on database meta-data to get the column information, with special functions for the few tables that need custom processing. These functions could be listed in a map(table name -> function). Am I going about this in the right way? I can easily fall back to doing it in OO using Java, but that would be no fun. BTW, are there any good books on FP patterns or architecture? I have several good books on Clojure, Scala, and F#, but although each covers the language well, none look at the "big picture" of function programming design.

How am I able to install the developer certificate and provisioning profiles on both machines? On the macbook it says 'a valid signing identity matching this profile could not be found in your keychain'. In my keychain I have a 'green status' for my developer certificate and in the xcode organizer for my device as well.

  • Extracting shell script from parameterised Hudson job

    I have a parameterised Hudson job, used for some AWS deployment stuff, which in one build step runs certain shell commands. However, that script has become sufficiently complicated that I want to "extract" it from Hudson to a separate script file, so that it can easily be versioned properly. The Hudson job would then simply update from VCS and execute the external script file. My main question is about passing parameters to the script. I have a Hudson parameter named AMI_ID and a few others. The script references those params as if they were environment variables: echo "Using AMI $AMI_ID and type $TYPE" Now, this works fine inside Hudson, but not if Hudson calls an external script. Could I somehow make Hudson set the params as environment variables so that I don't need to change the script? Or is my best option to alter the script to take command line parameters (and possibly assign those to named variables for readability: ami_id=$1; type=$2; ... )? I tried something like this but the script doesn't get correctly replaced values: export AMI_ID=$AMI_ID export TYPE=$TYPE external-script.sh # this tries to use e.g. $AMI_ID Bonus question: when the script is inside Hudson, the "console output" will contain both the executed commands and their output. This is extremely useful for debugging when something goes wrong with a build! For example, here the line starting with "+" is part of the script and the following line its output: + ec2-associate-address -K pk.pem -C cert.pem 77.125.116.139 -i i-aa3487fd ADDRESS 77.125.116.139 i-aa3487fd When calling an external script, Hudson output will only contain the latter line, making debugging harder. I could cat the script file to stdout before running it, but that's not optimal either. In effect, I'd like a kind of DOS-style "echo on" for the script which I'm calling from Hudson - anyone know a trick to achieve this?
