  I have written a very simple WCF service (hosted in IIS) and web application that talks to it. If they are both in the same domain, it works fine. But when I put them in different domains (on different sides of a firewall), then the web applications says: The request for security token could not be satisfied because authentication failed.   I have an ASP.NET application that accesses private key in a certificate in the certificates store. On Windows Server 2003 I was able to use winhttpcertcfg.exe to give private key access to the NETWORK SERVICE account. How do I give permissions to access a Private Key in a certificate in the certificate store (Local Computer\Personal) on a Windows Server 2008 R2 in an IIS 7.5 website? I've tried giving Full Trust access to "Everyone", "IIS AppPool\DefaultAppPool", "IIS_IUSRS", and everyother security account I could find using the Certificates MMC (Server 2008 R2). However the below code demonstrates that the code does not have access to the Private Key of a certificate that was imported with the private key. The code instead throws and error everytime the private key property is accessed. • WCF service using duplex channel in different domains

  I have a WCF service and a Windows client. They communicate via a Duplex WCF channel which when I run from within a single network domain runs fine, but when I put the server on a separate network domain I get the following message in the WCF server trace... The message with to 'net.tcp://abc:8731/ActiveAreaService/mex/mex' cannot be processed at the receiver, due to an AddressFilter mismatch at the EndpointDispatcher. Check that the sender and receiver's EndpointAddresses agree. So, it looks like the communication just work in one direction (from client to server) if the components are in two separate domains. The Network domains are fully trusted, so I'm a little confused as to what else could cause this? • How to expose MEX when I need the service to have NTLM authentication

  I'm developing a WCF service that is RESTful and SOAP, now both of them needs to be with NTLM authentication. I also want to expose a MEX endpoint so that others can easily reference the service and work with it. Now when I set IIS to require windows authentication I can use the REST service and make calls to the service succesfully, but when I want to reference the service with SVCUTIL it throws an error that it requires to be anonymous.   I have a certificate issued by a CA on our intranet (it's a V3 sha1 pfx file). When I use this in the signing part of my clickonce (vsto addin) project, I get the error: C:\Program Files (x86)\MSBuild\Microsoft\VisualStudio\v9.0\OfficeTools\Microsoft.VisualStudio.Tools.Office.Office2007.targets(250,9): error MSB3482: An error occurred while signing: Invalid provider type specified. • Combining MVVM Light Toolkit and Unity 2.0

  This is more of a commentary than a question, though feedback would be nice. I have been tasked to create the user interface for a new project we are doing. We want to use WPF and I wanted to learn all of the modern UI design techniques available. Since I am fairly new to WPF I have been researching what is available. I think I have pretty much settled on using MVVM Light Toolkit (mainly because of its "Blendability" and the EventToCommand behavior!), but I wanted to incorporate IoC also. So, here is what I have come up with. I have modified the default ViewModelLocator class in a MVVM Light project to use a UnityContainer to handle dependency injections.   I simply want flowing text on the left, and a help box on the right. The help box should extend all the way to the bottom. If you take out the outer StackPanel below it works great. But for reasons of layout (I'm inserting UserControls dynamically) I need to have the wrapping StackPanel. • Setting a Visual State from a data bound enum in WPF

  Hey all, I've got a scenario where I want to switch the visiblity of 4 different content controls. The visual states I have set opacity, and collapsed based on each given state (See code.) What I'd like to do is have the visual state bound to a property of my View Model of type Enum. I tried using DataStateBehavior, but it requires true/false, which doesn't work for me. So I tried DataStateSwitchBehavior, which seems to be totally broken for WPF4 from what I could tell. Is there a better way to be doing this? I'm really open to different approaches if need be, but I'd really like to keep this enum in the equation.   I have a WIX installer that executes Custom Actions over the course of install. When I run the WIX installer, and it encounters its first Custom Action, the installer fails out, and I receive an error in the MSI log as follows: Action start 12:03:53: LoadBCAConfigDefaults.   Is it possible to use the Biztalk adapter pack whithout a Biztalk installation (Biztalk license is available)? I want to use the Biztalk Adapter for SAP RFC calls within a .NET Application (as a replacement of the SAP Connector for .NET, which is unfortunately no longer maintened by SAP and I don't can use third party products like "ErpConnect"). I noticed that the version of sgen.exe in C:\Program Files\Microsoft SDKs\Windows\v7.0A\bin\ was built against .NET 2.0, but the version in C:\Program Files\Microsoft SDKs\Windows\v7.0A\bin\NETFX 4.0 Tools\ was built against .NET 4.0.

• Converting VS 2008 template to VS 2010 template

  I've got a project template that works for Visual studio 2008 but when I try to use it for visual studio 2010 I get "...The imported project "C:\program files (x86)\Microsoft\VisualStudio\v9.0\VSSDK\Microsoft.VsSDK.targets" was not found. The only thing I get from that is that it's looking for something in the 2008 SDK (which I have not installed but I would like to port the template to work with the VS 2010 SDK) ANy ideas on what I need to do to get the template working with the 2010 version?
