  • Changing code at runtime

    I have a pointer to a function (which i get from a vtable) and I want to edit the function by changing the assembler code (changing a few bytes) at runtime. I tried using memset and also tried assigning the new value directly (something like mPtr[0] = X, mPtr[1] = Y etc.) but I keep getting segmentation fault. How can I change the code? (I'm using C++)

  • Compiler error: memset was not declared in this scope

    Hi, I am trying to compile my c program in ubuntu 9.10 (gcc 4.4.1). I am getting this error: Rect.cpp:344: error: ‘memset’ was not declared in this scope But the problem is I have already included in my cpp file: #include <stdio.h> #include <stdlib.h> And the same program compiles fine under ubuntu 8.04 gcc 4.2.4). Please tell me what am i missing. Thank you.

    I have a MySQL table that has a row called cur_odds which is a percent number with the percent probability that that row will get selected. How do I make a query that will actually select the rows in approximately that frequency when you run through 100 queries for example? I tried the following, but a row that has a probability of 0.35 ends up getting selected around 60-70% of the time. SELECT * FROM table ORDER BY RAND()*cur_odds DESC

Now, i figure out that i have to write buddy class for every model or i have to go to designer generated code and put my annotations there (not a good idea though). if someone can suggest me a solution that helps me avoid writing those buddy classes and get the same functionality.     I'm just starting to work with j2me. I'm trying to work with HttpConnection but everytime I run my sample midlet, I'm always getting an IOException which says that there is a connection error. When I test it with the emulator of the Nokia S40 5th edition FP1 lite sdk, I don't experience that problem. I'm using a Nokia 2330 phone with gprs.

    Using MSSQL2005, Can I truncate a table with a foreign key constraint if I first truncate the child table(the table with the primary key of the FK relationship)? I know I can use a DELETE without a where clause and then RESEED the identity OR Remove the FK, truncate and recreate but I thought as long as you truncate the child table you'll be OK however I'm getting a "Cannot truncate table 'TableName' because it is being referenced by a FOREIGN KEY constraint." error.

    I'm using postgres and I'm getting the duplicate key error when updating a row: cursor.execute("UPDATE jiveuser SET userenabled = 0 WHERE userid = %s" % str(userId)) psycopg2.IntegrityError: duplicate key value violates unique constraint "jiveuser_pk" I don't understand how updating a row can cause this error... any help will be much appreciated.

    I'm developing a twitter messaging utility using Twitter API (twitterizer). But since I'm within a corporate proxy, I'm getting the error '407 Proxy Authentication Required'. Is there any way to authenticate the user before calling the API or use the default proxy settings? P.S Internally the API is using HttpWebRequest.
