  • Custom Extension not showing up wthin experimental instance

    I have a VSIX extension that I created which shows up in Visual Studio 2010 and works as designed. However I am attempting to build some Visual Studio automation which relies on this Extension and although its present in the project where I am building my automation package, when I run the package project, the visual studio experimental solution loads no problem, however when I look within the Extension Manager I do not see my registered Extension (even though it shows up within my Visual Studio project where I am building my extension. The extension is a custom shell for LightSwitch which may be a clue as to why it is not showing within my experimental instance of Visual Studio, not sure as I see other extensions I built and registered for LightSwitch showing up. Of course my issue is that when I attempt to load a solution that has a dependency on my LightSwitch extension, which otherwise loads fine outside of the Experimental Instance, fails due to the fact it can't locate my custom extension when I try to load the solution within my experimental solution.

Client is using double data entry system to reduce the errors. We are maintaining entry number in infopath form to seperate each entry. Note: I know we can compare xml data files of 2 documents. (xml data file has field names like field1,field2 and so on..while on form that field1 represent some meaninngful text) But the question is we want to compare it Visually side by side.   • How can I catch a change event from an HTML text field when a user clicks on a link after editing?

    Our webapp has a form with fields and values that change depending on values entered. Each time there is a change event on one of the form elements, we use an expensive AJAX call to update other elements on the page. This works great for selects, radio buttons and checkboxes. The issue comes in when a user adds content to a text field, and then clicks a link without taking the focus from the text field. The browser moves to a new page, and the contents of the text field are never saved. Is there an easy way to code around this? The AJAX call is too expensive to call with each key press.     created the first rails app! excinting! for two weeks now I did Zombie, rubymonk etc. I love it! I used scaffold form url:string and included the gem share_counts. rails c: f = form.first ShareCounts.twitter f.url works! but... I have trouble to write the controller and the view! For you experienced railies this is probably a silly question, and probably only 5 lines of code, but for me thats a big step learning RoR!     I'm having an issue when I try to nest pound signs in my ColdFusion code. I keep getting the following error message: Invalid CFML construct found on line 57 at column 26. ColdFusion was looking at the following text: # Here is the code: <cfloop index="i" from="1" to="12"> <cfset needRecord.setNeed#i#(#form["need#i#"]#) /> </cfloop> If I run the loop outside the cfset tag like this: <cfloop index="i" from="1" to="12"> needRecord.setNeed#i#(#form["need#i#"]#) </cfloop> The code runs and generates what I would like to generate within the cfset tag. Any idea what I'm doing wrong? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

  • Data persistance with BufferedReader and PrintWriter?

    I have this simple application with a couple of classes which are all related. There's one, the main one, for which there is only one instance of. I need to save save and load that using a text stream. My instructor requirement is BufferedReader to load the stream and PrintWriter to save it. But is this even possible? To persist a data object/class with a text stream? I know how to do it with and object, using serialization. But I don't see how am I supposed to do it using text streams. Suggestions?

    Im trying to make part of my form/questionnaire appears when hover on image and stay active untill hover another image next to it. and repeat it on 7 images. Of course I need the cheched checkboxes to stay after they'll be hidden so you can come back to them by hover the image and for ex. correct answers and so on..     I have a problem with calling soap service from php page. I was implemented two page,first page was created in php, and second page was created in asp.net. In asp.net application I have SOAP service, which methods should be called from php.   • Do you leave Windows Automatic Updates enabled on your production IIS server?

    If you were running a 24/7 website on Windows Server 2003 (IIS6). Would you leave the Windows automatic update feature enabled or would you turn it off? When enabled, you always get the latest security patches and bug fixes automatically as soon as they're available, which is the most secure choice. However, the machine will sometimes get automatically rebooted to apply the updates leading to a couple of minutes of downtime in the middle of the night. Also, I've seen rare occasions where the machine does not restart correctly resulting in further downtime. If auto updates are off, when do you apply the patches? I guess you have to use a load balancer with multiple web servers and rotate them out of the production site, apply patches manually, and put them back in. This can be logistically inconvenient when the load balancer is managed by a hosting company. You will also have machines in production that don't always have the latest security patches and you have to routinely spend time deciding which patches to apply and when.

  • Website image caching with Apache

    How can I get static content on Apache to be {cached by browser} and not {checked for freshness {with every request}}? I'm working on a website hosted on Apache webserver. Recently, I was testing something with headers (Content-Type for different types of content) and saw a lot of conditional requests for images. Example: 200 /index.php?page=1234&action=list 304 /favicon.ico 304 /img/logo.png 304 /img/arrow.png (etc.) Although the image files are static content and are cached by the browser, every time an user opens a page that links to them, they are conditionally requested, to which they send "304 Not Modified". That's good (less data transferred), but it means 20+ more requests with every page load (longer page load due to all those round-trips, even with Keep-Alive and pipelining enabled). How do I tell the browser to keep the existing file and not check for newer version? EDIT: the mod_expires method works, even with the favicon.

Methods I know are as follow: Name form elements as array, eg. <input type="text" name="contact[name]"> <input type="text" name="contact[surname]"> and then use: $this->Model_name->add_contact($this->input->post('contact')); The other would be to add each element to an array and then send it to the model as such: <input type="text" name="name"> <input type="text" name="surname"> and $contact_array = array('name' => $this->input->post('name'), 'surname' => $this->input->post('surname')); $this->Model_name->add_contact($this->input->post('contact')); Which one of these would be best practice, and is there a way to directly send a whole POST to a model (or a whole form maybe?)

  • Open two new tabs using Javascript

    I have this situation: There are a login page with a login form (form action is $_SERVER['PHP_SELF']). When user login, it will check what application the user can access and open all the application that available for that user in new tab. If user can access application (for example) 'Docs' and 'Sites', it will open 2 tabs. I Open new tab using window.open('app1.html','_newhtml');, some people say that it only works in Firefox. It's OK, no big deal for me. The problem is, It only open 1 tab, although I write it 2 times window.open('app1.html','_newhtml'); window.open('app2.html','_newhtml'); How can I open 2 tabs? are there any hacks from server side or client side programming?
