    Environment: JBoss 5.1.0, JBoss Seam 2.2.0 While trying to get my application running in a clustered environment after login I am getting the following exception. Post login we try to store the currentUser in jboss seam session context. java.io.NotSerializableException: org.jboss.seam.util.AnnotatedBeanProperty How to resolve this?     hi all, This is an issue which I have seen all across the web. I will bring it up again as till now I don't have a fix for the same. I am using hibernate 3. mysql 5 and latest c3p0 jar. I am getting a broken pipe exception. And I have only select operations . And below is the method which is used most often to execute my select queries. One tricky thing which I am not understanding is in my findById method i am using this line of code getSession().beginTransaction(); without which it gives me an error saying that this cannot happpen without a transaction. But nowhere I am closing this transaction. I have tried out almost every solution available via googling, on stackoverlow or on hibernate forums with no avail. (And increasing wait_timeout on mysql is not a valid option in my case).

  • Cacti: "An internal Net-Snmp error condition detected in Cacti snmp_count"

    There's the odd forum topic about an error similarly obscure as this, but I haven't seen any for snmp_count in particular. Also I don't see graphing problems, though I can't simply go and eyeball all graphs. However the poller does time out and has to be stopped by its internal process preventing overruns. If I filter out the flood of this error in the log I dont get anything else except the poller timeout: 06/12/2014 12:48:00 PM - POLLER: Poller[0] Maximum runtime of 58 seconds exceeded. When I kill it the flooding of the error stops. Of course it's the same on the next poll run as it goes through the devices. 2053 is apparently the DB ID for a device. I deleted it completely to see if that stops it. It doesn't, instead 2052 is seen there. I suspect It'll be the same if I keep deleting devices which I will not do. This started happening midday when I wasn't doing anything to the cacti server. I have tried reducing Maximum Threads per Process to 1 and Number of PHP Script Servers to 1. I've been running it at 10 script servers / 40 threads for months with poll cycle time of about 20 sec. I just found out Running snmpwalk on any host would begin returning the values but then timeout halfway through. This doesn't happen from different servers on the network this Cacti is suggesting still that it's a problem with it locally. Any suggestions? For one polling cycle I changed to use cmd.php instead. then I started getting errors like CMDPHP: Poller[0] Host[45] DS[541] WARNING: Result from SNMP not valid. Partial Result: U Perhaps as expected. Looking closely I see that every snmpwalk I do is interrupted at the same place as if some byte limit is hit and the connection torn down.

  • Windows XP SP3 - Library not registered error... IE8 not installing.

    Specs to put things in context: AMD Athlon XP 2400+ @ 1987 MHz / 2 x 512MB PC3200 DDR RAM / WD 160GB IDE HDD / 3DFuzion 128MB GeForce 6200 AGP 4x / FIC AM37 / Windows XP SP3 Just recently, I was unable to start Windows Media Player. I clicked it and the busy cursor came up, but then nothing happened. Also, I tried doing a search for a file, and same thing. It would show busy cursor then suddenly stop doing anything. I couldn't find it in the Processes of the Task Manager. (Perhaps I don't know what I'm looking for?) Also, I was trying to update my DirectX, which has been running something older than DX9 9.0c for a while now, except the installation fails due to "internal error". I think the failed DirectX installation has been like that for a while... (I remember trying to install DX9 9.0c a while back, but still failed.) The Windows programs not starting, I don't think I've ever had before... what could be the cause of these problems?! Thanks in advance. =) EDIT1: Weird thing now is that when I try to open User Accounts, I get a message saying "Wrong number of arguments or invalid property assignment." Also, when I'm trying to open services.msc, I'm getting a script error that says that "Library not registered." (Code: 0, URL: res://C:\WINDOWS\System32\mmcndmgr.dll/views.htm) Perhaps this is related to my other question, where I seemed to have an unregistered library of some sort. EDIT2: The DirectX End-User Runtime Web Installer freakishly worked and updated successfully. Now, I have focussed the question on the bigger problem. For WMP11, H&S, and Search, I click it once, get a busy icon for a second, and then nothing happens. Refer to EDIT1 for other problems. EDIT3: Seems that my problems may be related to some Internet Explorer Script Errors. So what I did was download the IE8 installer from the Microsoft website, but when I run it and get to the main portion of the installer, it just keeps looping on the Downloading step of the installation. The installer is still running, but I left it for at least 4 hours and the downloading step was still not finished. What is the problem? Also, I uninstalled Ubuntu 9.10 after these problems, but they still remain. EDIT4: I'm getting an active desktop recovery background on startup now. And within seconds my computer hangs again. EDIT3 explains main issue though.

    I am trying to insert an audio channel with a video: first of all I extract the audio from the original video for processing: ffmpeg -i lotr.mp4 lotr.wav I then extract all frames for later processing too: ffmpeg -i lotr.mp4 -f image2 %d.jpg When done processing audio and video streams, I try to create the video ffmpeg -f image2 -r 15 -i %d.jpg new.mp4 then merge with the audio: ffmpeg -i new.mp4 -i lotr.wav -map 0:0 -map 1:0 new_w_audio.mp4 Result: CPU activity = 100%, the process hangs and never returns.     I'd like to block access to Google search using PF after the threshold of 17500 requests (connection established) in 24h, from a host running FreeBSD 9. What I came up with, after reading pf-faq is this rule: pass out on $net proto tcp from any to 'www.google.com' port www flags S/SA keep state (max-src-conn 200, max-src-conn-rate 17500/86400) NOTE: 86400 are 24h in seconds. The rule should work, but PF is smart enough to know that www.google.com resolves in 5 different IPs. This option has two formats: + source-track rule - The maximum number of states created by this rule is limited by the rule's max-src-nodes and max-src-states options. Only state entries created by this particular rule count toward the rule's limits. + source-track global - The number of states created by all rules that use this option is limited. Each rule can specify different max-src-nodes and max-src-states options, however state entries created by any participating rule count towards each individual rule's limits. The total number of source IP addresses tracked globally can be controlled via the src-nodes runtime option. I tried to apply source-track-global in the above rule without success. How can I use this option in order to achieve my goal? Any thoughts or comments are more than welcome since I'm an amateur and don't fully understand PF yet. Thanks

  • Can't get Monit to work

    I am trying to configure Monit on my local machine to get a taste at how it works, but I have some issues. What I am trying to do is to get any evidence that Monit is up and running correctly and is actually monitoring something. So my /etc/monit/monitrc looks like set daemon 60 set logfile /var/log/monit.log set idfile /var/lib/monit/id set statefile /var/lib/monit/state set eventqueue basedir /var/lib/monit/events slots 100 set httpd port 2812 and allow username:password check process apache2 with pidfile /usr/local/apache/logs/apache2.pid start program = "/etc/init.d/apache2 start" stop program = "/etc/init.d/apache2 stop" if failed port 6543 protocol http then exec "/usr/bin/touch /tmp/monit" If I understand correctly, since apache does not listen on port 6543 (it is just a random number) I should get an error, and as a consequence the file /tmp/monit should be created. So I start monit by sudo service monit start sudo monit monitor apache2 Unfortunately no such file is created. Instead the web console shows an error for apache - execution failed. The log says 'apache2' failed to start. What am I doing wrong? EDIT As suggested in the comments, I ran monit in verbose mode, by monit -vv monitor apache2 (the exact command suggested in the comments failed).     I've used the directions here to successfully install Glassfish 3.0.1 on an virtualized (VirtualBox and VMWare) Ubuntu 10.10 Server instance without any real difficulty not resolved by more closely following the directions. However when I try applying them to Glassfish 3.1, I seem to keep getting stuck at section 6. "Security configuration before first startup". In particular, there are some differences I noted: 1) There are two keys in the default keystore. The 's1as' key is still there, but another named 'glassfish-instance' is also there. When I saw this, I deleted and recreated them both along with a 'myAlias' key which I was going to use where needed. 2) When turning the security on it seems like part of the server thinks it's on, but others don't. Update 2: Modifying the LD_LIBRARY_PATH had no effect on the lib-deps of mod_ssl.so. UPDATE 3: I've compiled and recompiled many times, and verified with ldconfig that the OpenSSL libs dir is in my path, and included in ld.so.conf. Still cannot get httpd/mod_ssl to load the library at runtime.

    I have a redhat server that isnt resolving dependencies correctly. I want to install httpd via yum "yum install httpd" and it installs correctly, but when i go to start httpd I get the following error: /sbin/service httpd restart Stopping httpd: [FAILED] Starting httpd: /usr/sbin/httpd: error while loading shared libraries: libaprutil-1.so.0: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory [FAILED] It is missing the dependency for apr-util package. Weirdly the i386 package is installed and not the x86_64 package.   • SSD Fresh Does Not Start

    I recently installed a new 60GB SSD as my primary hard drive and re-installed Windows 7 Professional 64-bit. I then installed SSD Fress from Abelssoft to optimize Windows to run on the SSD. It seemed to install okay, but when I try to run the utility, its splash screen appears briefly before it quietly closes. No errors are displayed; the utility just fails to launch. I have run SSD Fresh on another SSD-equipped Windows 7 Pro x64 computer in the past without any problems. Does anyone know what might be preventing the program from running? I tried shutting down the Spybot Resident and disabling the firewall and virus scanner with no luck. I also tried running the tool as administrator; I even tried reinstalling it, running the installer as administrator. No luck. I already have a custom ISO with a kickstart file that I use on servers with DVD flawlessly. I used iso2usb to move the ISO t? my USB. When I boot from the USB, the ks file is found, anaconda starts, but then stops with the following error: "The installation source given by device ['sda1'] could not be found.     We have a rather unfortunate legacy application at work, written originally in VB6 it predates anybody in our IT department by at least 5 years. We have a contracted developer for ongoing maintenance and where he can he rewrites sections over into .NET code (Not sure about his techniques here, this is a side job for his regular work as an IBM engineer) the application works fine (such as it is) under windows XP. We have only a couple of Windows 7 machines mainly for testing and this application seems to run into a wall. Things like the background not loading and SQL errors. This is even running under administrator. Running an SQL trace from the ODBC control panel shows several interesting things. The only thing that is different in this particular scenario though is Windows 7, I know the connection string is fine since it works on the XP machines. The VB components are supposed to be still functional under Win7. My computer is running 32 bit win7 and my VP is running Win7 64 bit and both have the same problem so that can be ruled out. I have already tried reinstalling the SQL Native Client and the VB runtime as well as the application in question. Hopefully I can find a solution and not have to resort to using the XP VM.

    I’m running a Debian Squeeze AMD64 server. Target runlevel after boot is runlevel 2, which includes rsyslogd, cron, sshd and some other stuff, but not dovecot, postfix, apache2, etc. The system fails to reach runlevel 2 with several symptoms: The system hangs at trying to start rsyslogd Booting into runlevel 1 works, then login from the console works Starting rsyslogd from runlevel 1 via /etc/init.d/rsyslog hangs Starting runlevel 2 with rsyslogd disabled works But then, logging in via console fails: I get the motd, and then nothing Starting sshd from runlevel 1 succeeds But then, I cannot login via ssh. Sometimes password ssh login gives me the motd and then nothing, sometimes not even this. Trying to offer a public key seems to annoy the sshd enough to not talk to me any further. When rebooting from runlevel 1, the server hangs at trying to stop apache2 (which is not running, so this really should be trivial). Trying to stop apache2 when logged in in runleve 1 does hang as well. And that’s just the stuff which fails all the time. RAM has been tested, dmesg shows no problems. I have no clue. Update: (shortened) output from rsyslogd -c4 -d called in runlevel 1 rsyslogd 4.6.4 startup, compatibility mode 4, module path '' caller requested object 'net', not found (iRet -3003) Requested to load module 'lmnet' loading module '/user/lib/rsyslog/lmnet.so' module of type 2 being loaded conf.c requested ref for 'lmnet', refcount 1 rsylog runtime initialized, version 4.6.4, current users 1 syslogd.c requested ref for 'lmnet', refcount now 2 I can kill rsyslogd with Strg+C, then. /var/log shows none of the configured log files, though. Update2: Thanks to @DerfK I still have no clue, but at least I narrowed down the problem. I’m now testing with /etc/init.d/apache2 stop (without an apache2 running, of course) which hangs as well and looks like an even more obvious failure. After some testing I found out that a file with one single line: /usr/sbin/apache2ctl configtest /dev/null 2&1 hangs, while the same line executed in an interactive shell works. I was not able to further reduce this line while, i. e. every single part, the stream redirections and the commando itself is necessary to reproduce the hang. @DerfK also pointed me to strace which gave a shallow hint about what kind of hang we have here: wait4(-1for the init scripts futex(0xsomepointer, FUTEX_WAIT_PRIVATE, 2, NULL for rsyslogd / apache2 binaries called by the init scripts The system was installed as a Debian Lenny by my hoster in autumn 2011, I upgraded it to Squeeze immediately and kept it up to date with Squeeze, which then used to be testing. There were no big changes, though. I guess I never tried to reboot the system before. Update3: I found the problem. My /etc/nsswitch.conf specified ldap as hosts lookup backup, which is not available at that time of the boot. Relying on dns solely fixes my boot problems.

  • APC File Cache not working but user cache is fine

    I have just got a VPS (with cPanel/WHM) to test what gains i could get in my application with using apc file cache AND user cache. So firstly I got the PHP 5.3 compiled in as a DSO (apache module). Then installed APC via PECL through SSH. (First I tried with WHM Module installer, it also had the same problem, so I tried it via ssh) All seemed fine and phpinfo showed apc loaded and enabled. Then I checked with apc.php. All seemed OK But as I started testing my php application, the stats in apc for File Cache Information state: Cached Files 0 ( 0.0 Bytes) Hits 1 Misses 0 Request Rate (hits, misses) 0.00 cache requests/second Hit Rate 0.00 cache requests/second Miss Rate 0.00 cache requests/second Insert Rate 0.00 cache requests/second Cache full count 0 Which meant no PHP files were being cached, even though I had browsed through over 10 PHP files having multiple includes. So there must have been some Cached Files. But the user cache is functioning fine. User Cache Information Cached Variables 0 ( 0.0 Bytes) Hits 1000 Misses 1000 Request Rate (hits, misses) 0.84 cache requests/second Hit Rate 0.42 cache requests/second Miss Rate 0.42 cache requests/second Insert Rate 0.84 cache requests/second Cache full count 0 Its actually from an APC caching test script which tries to retrieve and store 1000 entries and gives me the times. A sort of simple benchmark. Can anyone help me here. Even though apc.cache_by_default = 1, no php files are being cached. Set apc.max_file_size = 5M (just in case) 3. switched php handler from dso to FastCGI in WHM (then switched it back to dso as it did not solve the problem) 4. Even tried restarting the container

  • SMB returns the entire file instead of header info

    Starting a section of code checks for access to many data files (flat files so each table is a file) and when I do a packet capture, in our capture only the header info is sent by the server to the client. However I have one Customer who is using a SAN that gets the whole file instead of just the header info,and besides just being slower, this is causing file access issues. They have already turned off OPLOCKS at the server and at the workstations. This is not client server. The data files and the application reside on the server but the users run the application locally via a shortcut with a mapped drive or UNC. So when I simply select an option that prompts for a vehicle number, not tryng to select a record but rather simply verify the datafiles are accessible, that window opens in 1-2 seconds for me. When they do the same thing it takes 6-15 seconds after there several users are running the program. Maximum number of users is 15. The program has a lot of small modules, 800 .cob modules. So it is very chatty but these are datafiles. We have Wireshark captures that show he's pulling the whole file and we're just getting the header. Thier capture vs ours. We suspect the SAN. Has anyone ever heard of a SAN improperly interpreting runtime requests? So an SMB request. This is Acucobol-GT (now Microfocus). The application is written in COBOL. This is not a new program just a new problem. This is one customer of over a thousand who are otherwise running smoothly and we are totally stumped. All XP users, the server is Windows 2003 (with Virtual server) and I don't yet know the SAN info. Also we have many installations running virtual servers but only few on SANs or we just don't know it. This is not a network throught put issue, the load is less than 5% on the server and theer are no timeout or retransmits. PS If it wasn't for Wireshark I'd still be chasing my tail. An application trace file on thier installation just looks like they run slower. If you want the Wireshark trace file I can make it available. Thanks in advance - Please excuse my verbosity (word?) but I'm not sure what's relavent.

    I have some encrypted pdf files that have no problem and in my last windows, I could open them easily with Adobe Reader 9.2 and other pdf readers. But now, I can only open non-encrypted pdf files and one encrypted file with Adobe Reader. every time I open almost any encrypted pdf, it closes itself. Also, when I try to search a folder for a keyword with Foxit Reader, once it closed. This is not related to Adobe Reader, because I have the same problem with Word 2007. When I open a document, sometimes it closes instantly and sometimes it closes after a few seconds and sometimes it is stable. My windows is Fresh. I have installed it a few days ago.     Very slow processing using Windows Server2008 R2 Standard with Service Pack One. Situation: Read a text file using the text data to populate a series of MS Sql tables. The converted data is used to generate monthly PDF invoice files; the PDF files are saved directly to the hard drive. The application is multi-threading with one thread used for the text conversion and three threads for PDF invoice generation. The text conversion is occurring concurrently with the invoice generation. Application Software: C# using Microsoft Visual Studio 2010 Ultimate. Crystal Report Writer 2011 with runtime 13_0_3 64 bit version. Targeted platform is x64; also tested as x86, and Any CPU with similar results. Microsoft .NET Framework 4.0. Microsoft Sql 2008 Issue: The software is running very slowly. The conversion of the text file is approximately six hundred fifty records per second and generation of the PDF files is approximately twelve invoices per minute. The text file to be converted is six hundred Meg with seven thousand invoices to be generated. The software was installed on three different machines from the same distribution files. The same text file was converted on each machine. The user executing the application was an administrator on each machine. The only variances were the machine and operating system.
