  • DotNetNuke create new portal didnt create new portal

    hi folks, I've installed dotnetnuke today for the first time, I've created a new portal via host/portals. It says its created it but just doesn't find it. I just don't know how/why? The portal ID is 4. and there is a directory in dotnetnuke/Portals/4 But the url localhost/bmd (name of the portal) doesn't resolve to anything/ Anyone know a solution to this? maybe it happened to you too?   • Displaying pic for user through a question's answer

    Ok, I am trying to display the profile pic of a user. The application I have set up allows users to create questions and answers (I am calling answers 'sites' in the code) the view in which I am trying to do so is in the /views/questions/show.html.erb file. It might also be of note that I am using the Paperclip gem. My error directs me to the Questions#show action so I am imagining that I need to define something in there but not sure what. Is is possible to call the pic given the current associations, placement of the call, and if so what Controller additions do I need to make, and what line of code will call the pic?     Currently I'm using file_get_contents() to submit GET data to an array of sites, but upon execution of the page I get this error: Fatal error: Maximum execution time of 30 seconds exceeded All I really want the script to do is start loading the webpage, and then leave. Each webpage may take up to 5 minutes to load fully, and I don't need it to load fully.   • Using one data source across multiple views in Kendo UI SPA

    I am trying to build a Kendo UI SPA. I have two views. View 1 (appListView) shows Application Details in a grid and view 2 (activityView) will have a dropdown for application names and a grid that shows the activity for selected application As I am loading all the application details on the loading of view 1, I would like to re-use those details to populate the dropdown on view 2. Please see my code below. Everything works fine but when I go to View 2 it makes a call to the service again to get application details. I would like to use the existing data if it is already loaded and if the uses comes to view 2 directly then it should get application data also. I am not sure what I am missing in the code. Ive even gone so far as to comment bits and pieces of the code with NSLog but no luck. I'll post the code for StockData below this. As far as I can figure something is getting deallocated before I do the release but I'm not sure how. The only place I've got release in my code is under dealloc method call. Now when an user pastes in an url (if they don't know what they are doing, like most people) it comes out like this http://http://www.google.com. I've seen a site that as soon as you have http://http:// it removes one via Ajax. I am not familiar with Ajax, so can anyone help me? I don't want to clear the field on focus only.

    I've been struggling a bit with the jQuery Form plugin. I want to create a file upload form that posts the data (JSON, from the chosen file) into a REST service exposed by a servlet. The URL for the POST is calculated from what the user chooses in a SELECT dropdown. When the upload is complete, I want to notify the user immediately, AJAX-style. The problem is that the POST header has a Content-Length of 0 and contains no data. An example of a link is: javascript:__doPostBack('ctl00$cphMain$ucOemSchPicker$dlSch$ctl03$btnSch','') As soon as this is clicked, the browser doesn't fetch a new URL but a section of webpage is updated to reflect new information. What would I pass into a urllib function to complete the operation?

  • StringBuffer wont read whole stream into a string (JAVA/Android)

    Hi all! I'm making an android program that retrieves content of a webpage using HttpURLConnection. I'm new to both Java and Android. Problem is: Reader reads whole page source, but in the last while iteration it doesn't append to stringBuffer that last part. Using debbuger I have determined that, in the last loop iteration, string buff is created, but stringBuffer just doesnt append it. I need to parse retrieved content. Is there any better way to handle the content for parsing than using strings. I've read on numerous other sites that string size in Java is limited only by available heap size. I've tried with StringBuilder too. Anyone know what could be the problem. Btw feel free to suggest any improvements to the code. Thanks!
