  • How do I change an existing XCode target from dynamic to static?

    I'm working with an existing project that produces a dynamic library (Cocoa API). I'd rather generate a static library, but if I change the [Linking|Mach-O Type] field from "Dynamic Library" to "Static Library", both the Clean Project and Build Project complain that the target has an invalid MACH_O_TYPE value of 'staticlib'. Is there a straightforward way to get the build to produce a static .a file? Thanks, Eric

  • What is the correct response for web service?

    One of my web services returns the list of ids of the the projects a person is owner of. That is, when I GET http://example.com/wsListProjects?user=eric I get back xml with the list of projects. However, when I specify user=xxx, who doesn't exist, I currently return a 404 response? Is this the correct response to return? Thanks.

    Hi guys, I'm trying to instanciate a constant NSString by concatanating other NSString instances. Here is what I'm doing in my implementation file : static NSString *const MY_CONST = @"TEST"; static NSString *const MY_CONCATENATE_CONST = [NSString stringWithFormat:@"STRING %@", MY_CONST]; It leads to the following compilation error : Initializer element is not constant I suppose this is because stringWithFormat doesn't return a constant NSString, but since there is no other way to concatenate strings in Obj-C, what am I supposed to do ?   • Python: Converting legacy string dates to dates

    We have some legacy string dates that I need to convert to actual dates that can be used to perform some date logic. Converting to a date object isn't a problem if I knew what the format were! That is, some people wrote 'dd month yy', othes 'mon d, yyyy', etc. So, I was wondering if anybody knew of a py module that attempts to guess date formats and rewrites them in a uniform way?   • AJAX POST problems with CKFinder

    We're using CKFinder for one of our sites, which has been working fine for us until we moved to a new dedicated server (which is similar but not exactly the same as the old server). Now we cant upload, the AJAX request simply never finishes. From monitoring it in Firebug it attempts to POST to here: http://www.site.com/temp/ckfinder/core/connector/php/connector.php?command=FileUpload&type=Files&currentFolder=%2F&hash=4f9cdbbb1e295966&langCode=en&= but never gets a response. This is the same CKFinder install on both WIMP servers, one works fine one doesnt. any idea where we should be looking to fix this problem? php.ini maybe? any help would be great as we havent a clue at this stage.   • TLFTextfield broken after upgrading from CS5 to CS5.5

    For my project I am using the following: FlashDevelop 3.3.4 RTM Flash Pro CS 5 (libraries only, no code) Some time ago we started using TLFTextfields. One of the things I had to do was include the tlfruntime.swc file from the Adobe Flash CS 5 folder in the FlashDevelop project. Note that I copied this file to the project folder and included it, I didn't just include the file straight from the CS5 path. I have since been given a new computer that has Flash CS 5.5. I recompiled one of my swf libraries in CS 5.5, and now when I run the program, I get: Illegal override of createTextLine in flashx.textLayout.compose.ComposeState I figure the tlfruntime.swc being included in the FlashDevelop project is out of date and needs to be updated with the one from CS 5.5. So I copied the tlfruntime.swc from the CS 5.5 path, include it in the FlashDevelop project (instead of the older file), but now I get this: Illegal override of softKeyboardActivatingHandler in fl.text.container.TLFContainerController. Can anyone assist with what else I need to do to get TLFTextfields working again in CS 5.5?

    Hi, our Webpage: http://www.checkdent.com/mobile/sv.php?id=12332181087788749 looks fine on Android G1, but comes resized on the Google Nexus (higher resolution) Half part of the Page is outside of the View! I implemented as mentioned at several places the: target-densityDpi=device-dpi < meta content="minimum-scale=1.0, width=device-width, , target- densityDpi=device-dpi, maximum-scale=0.6667, user-scalable=no" name="viewport" / it works great within the 'android browser' but in my Webview Application it still resize!!     Hello everybody, I am having a Problem with my nhibernate-mapping and I can't find a solution by searching on stackoverflow/google/documentation. The database I am using has (amongst others) two tables. One is unit with the following fields: id enduring_id starts ends damage_enduring_id [...] The other one is damage, which has the following fields: id enduring_id starts ends [...] The units are assigned to a damage and one damage can have zero, one or more units working on it. Every time a unit moves to annother damage, the dataset is copied. The field "ends" of the old record and "starts" of the new record are set to the current time stamp, enduring_id stays the same. So if I want to know which units were working on a damage at a certain time, I do the following select: select * from unit join damage on damage.enduring_id = unit.damage_enduring_id where unit.starts <= 'time' and unit.ends = 'time' (This is not an actualy query from the database, I made it up to make clear what I mean. The the real database is a little more complex) Now I want to map it that way, so I can load all the damages which are valid at one time (starts <= wanted time <= ends) and that each of them has a Bag with all the attached units at that time (again starts <= wanted time <= ends). Is this possible within the mapping? Sorry if this is a stupid question, but I am pretty new to nhibernate and I have no clue how to do it. Thanks a lot for reading my post! Bye, Tobias

    Hello! I have a really puzzling problem: I am writing a PHP CLI application running on a debian server. I am connected to the server via SSH, just the normal way. Everything runs as usual. Except the following: echo "My CLI fun\n\n"; echo "Is this."; Outputs on the SSH terminal, when executing the PHP script: My CLI funIs this. I am really puzzled as I have never had such a problem. The bash behaves normal in all other aspects. I already tried to output chr(10) and such, same problem. Does anybody have a clue?

    Hi SO community! I am drawing graphs into a WinForms Picturebox. Now I am searching for a possibility to 'duplicate' a line (an array of points), so that the two resulting lines are positioned a fixed distance away from the original one. Like in this picture, I have the red line and want to get the black ones: I thought about just moving the line a few pixels up/right/up-right, but that leads to strange overlapping lines. Is there any other approach that does what I want? Any ideas would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

    Hi, I'm trying to load a local SWF file and use the classes in that SWF (its a code only SWF, nothing in library). Here's the code that loads the library: var AD:ApplicationDomain = ApplicationDomain.currentDomain; var context:LoaderContext = new LoaderContext(false, AD); SA_gamecore_loader = new Loader(); SA_gamecore_loader.contentLoaderInfo.addEventListener(Event.COMPLETE, onGameCoreLibraryDataComplete); SA_gamecore_loader.load(new URLRequest("GameCore.swf"), context); Here's the code that tries to instantiate a class from GameCore.swf: var test:Class = GetClassFromDefinition("MenuArt") as Class; var testInstance:Object = new test(); public function GetClassFromDefinition(theStr:String):Object { var theClass:Object; try { theClass = GameCoreLibraryData.applicationDomain.getDefinition(theStr); } catch(e:ReferenceError) { trace(e); return null; } return theClass; } And this is the message that's traced: ReferenceError: Error #1065: Variable MenuArt is not defined. The GameCore.swf is in the same location as the parent swf. I'm using Flash Develop if that helps. Anyone able to point out what I'm doing wrong?

  • How can I get an AdWords ad to show up for a specific term ASAP?

    I have a very specific situation... I have a client who has a site, backed by a celebrity, selling a comment product.... so imagine my site is all about "Martha Stewart used cars" (that's not it-- but you get the idea). My client wants to see their site show up ASAP in Google search results. While I'm waiting for organic search to kick in and recognize my site, index it properly, etc, I want to buy some adwords for keywords like "Martha Stewart used cars" and "Martha Stewart used car" and so forth and have the ads show up on the 1st page of search results. I've done this. The problem is that many, many other advertisers have set up ads on the keyword "used cars" so my Martha-specific ads never are shown. Even when I bid specifically on the keyword phrase "Martha Stewart used cars" and I enter that directly into Google, it doesn't show my ad. SO MY QUESTION.... how/what can I do to get my ads to show... or really, can I do anything else to get my client's site to show on the result page? (I'm not interested in anything black-hat or illegal; I'm just trying to throw some resources at this situation so when those folks looking SPECIFICALLY for "Martha Stewart used cars" will get to the site quickly.) thanks-- Eric

  • configure a Macbook Pro to use external monitor at boot (Debian Linux)

    In the spirit of reuse, I've installed Debian (version 6.0.5 "squeeze") on my wife’s old Macbook Pro (circa 2009 or so), to repurpose it for various tasks. The catch is the display is flaky. It will last a random amount of time, between 2 minutes and 2 hours, before freezing and graying out. This is a known issue with that generation of MBP. Fortunately it’s no problem for me, as I plan to use it with an external monitor anyway. Which brings us to the problem: How do I configure this thing to output to the external display by default, and hopefully disable the built-in LCD? The ideal solution would be to modify a setting in the EFI (BIOS), but I’m not holding out much hope for that. Next best thing would be a kernel option I can pass to the NVIDIA driver. What won’t work is a solution that doesn’t give me a display until X starts. I need to have console access, especially given that the built-in LCD is dying, and any day now might give out completely. So far I haven’t been able to find anything online. lspci says I’ve got an NVIDIA GeForce 9400M Help is much appreciated! Eric PS if this question is better suited to the Unix & Linux area, pls advise and I will move it.
