• Did anyone see the spasticNav.js Menu for jQuery ?

  Helooo all, If anyone doesn't know what i'm talking about, this is the link: http://net.tutsplus.com/tutorials/html-css-techniques/how-to-build-a-lava-lamp-style-navigation-menu/ How can i click the menu, and make it “stick” :) without reloading the whole page ? The plugin takes a static state of the tag UL – and run the plugin on it. which mean that if i move the “currentPageItem” from the first LI tag and give it to the next LI tag – the spasticNav doesn’t run for each object again. it still “remembers” the old state. ( because the .js file run only once at the top of the page ) So what should I add to the code in order to get dynamic “Click” event ? ( without reloading the whole page [ ajax ] ) Does anyone have any ideas about this specific plugin ? Thanks.

  Hi, I've created a view in Drupal that retrieves a list of nodes. The display of this view is a page and it works perfectly well. It does even allow me to filter its content by argument. See the current's view configuration (click to enlarge): I want to use AJAX to use the filter (by parameter) functionality without reloading the page. I've enabled the "Use AJAX" option but I am not sure on how to continue. Any ideas on how to do that? By the way, I'm building my own theme (in case that changes anything). Thanks in advance Update: Basically, this view works when I browse through section/parameter1, section/parameter2... but I want to do the same with AJAX, without reloading the page. • Warn user when new data is inserted on database

  I don't know how to search about this so I'm kinda lost (the two topics I saw here were closed). I have a news website and I want to warn the user when a new data is inserted on the database. I want to do that like here on StackOverflow where we are warned without reloading the page or like in facebook where you are warned about new messages/notifications without reloading. Which is the best way to do that? Is it some kind of listener with a timeout that is constantly checking the database? It doesn't sounds efficient... Thanks in advance.

  I have wireless Internet access and it worked well on Ubuntu 12.04 LTS until today, when I installed updates from the Update Manager. After the reloading of the computer the sign of Internet disappeared and the Internet connection stopped working. I went to the Network section of the System settings and got such a message: The system network services are not compatible with this version. ping 8.8.8.8 gives the result Network is unreachable. What should I do?

  Getting and Setting the URL, and different parts of the URL are a basic part of Application Design. For Page Navigation Deep Linking Providing a link to the user Querying Data Passing information to other pages Both angularjs and javascript provide ways to get/set the URL and parts of the URL. I'm looking for the following information: Situation: Show a simple URL in the browser address bar to the user Provide a more detailed URL with string parameters to the page that the user will not see. In other words, two different URLs will be used, one simple one that the user sees in the browser, a more detailed one available to the page on load. Get URL info with PHP when then page intially loads, both don't reload the PHP page when the user needs more detailed info that is already loaded but not displayed yet. Set the URL with a more detailed URL for deep linking as the user drills down to more specific information. Get URL info in a controller or JavaSript when angularjs detects a change in the URL with routing. Hash or Query String or Both? Should I use a hash # in the URL, a string ?= or both? Here is what I currently know and what I want: A Query String HTTP:\\www.name.com?mykey=itemID will prevent angularjs from reloading the page. So, I can change the URL by adding/changing the string at the end, thereby providing new info to the page, and keep the page from reloading. I can change the URL and force a page reload with: window.location.href = "#Store/" + argUserPubId + "?itemID=home"; If home is the itemID string, I want code to simply load the page, and not display more detailed information. If there is a real itemID in the URL query string, I want the code to display the more detailed information. Code from angularjs will run either from the controller specified in the routing, or a controller specified in the HTML, or both. The angularjs code specified in the routing seems to run first, before the code specified in the HTML. A different URL for the page can be used in angularjs templateURL: than the URL that was sent to the browser address bar. when('/Store/:StoreId', { templateUrl: function(params){return 'Client_Pages/Stores.php?storeID=' + params.StoreId;}, controller: 'storeParseData' }). The above code detects http:\\www.name.com\Store\StoreID in the browser, but SENDS http:\\www.name.com\Client_Pages/Stores.php?storeID=StoreID to the page. In the above code, a function is used for the angularjs routing templateURL: to dynamically set the templateURL. So, when the user clicks something to see details of an item, how should I configure the URL? Should I use angularjs $location or window.location.href ? Should I use a longer URL with more parameters, a hash bang, or a query string? Should I use: http:\\www.name.com\Store\StoreID\ItemID or http:\\www.name.com\Store\StoreID#ItemID or http:\\www.name.com\Store\StoreID?ItemID or http:\\www.name.com\Store#StoreID?ItemID or Something else?

  I've apache2,tomcat6 ubuntu servers running on port 80 with mod_jk setup hosting jsp pages. The developers are complaining that the pages are being rendered very slow when tried with IE browser and saying, at every refresh the images are reloading again and again which is not happening with other browsers. I'm given a hint CDNwhich I've no knowledge but I found in the google that cdn makes pages available on many server which improves the speed of the page being rendered. Anybody could tell me how could I make my pages available in cdn servers?

  I added a server stanza to my virtual.conf, and now nginx seems to have a problem reloading the config. At this point I don't know what exactly is going wrong or how to debug better.   Hello, I have a website which has many pages: For example: HOME: http://mywebsite.com/index.html SOME PAGE: http://mywebsite.com/categorie/somepage.html I decided to make my pages load dynamically with AJAX without reloading the page. So I decided to use jQuery Address plugin ( http://www.asual.com/jquery/address/docs/ ) in order to allow deeplinking and Back-Forward navigation: <script type="text/javascript" src="uploads/scripts/jquery.address-1.2rc.min.js"></script> <script type="text/javascript"> $('a').address(function() { return $(this).attr('href').replace(/^#/, ''); }); </script> Now, after installing the plugin, if I go on http://mywebsite.com/index.html (HOME) and click on SOME PAGE link, jquery successfully loads the http://mywebsite.com/categorie/somepage.html without reloading the page and the address bar on my browser displays: http://mywebsite.com/index.html/#/categorie/somepage.html which is great! However, the problem is: if I copy this dynamically generated URL: http://mywebsite.com/index.html/#/categorie/somepage.html into a web browser address bar, it will take into my website index.html page and not to the "SOME PAGE" page. Also, The Forward/Back buttons don't work correctly, they only replace the address in the URL bar but the content stays the same. I suppose that I need to write some JavaScript rule that associates the dynamic URL with the correct page? Some help would be appreciated. Thanks :)

• Sharepoint designer is replacing french characters with &#65533;

  First of all, I'm not a web designer, I'm a programmer, so I'm working a bit out of my knowledge area. However, as the person in my office who has some working knowledge of French, I'm stuck with this issue. The Problem: Sharepoint Designer is replacing all French accented characters with the &#65533; (square box or diamond-? �) character. It doesn't appear to matter if I enter the 'é' character as alt-130 (in either design or source or as &eacute; Everything works fine when editing, but when the file is saved and loaded into a browser, it replaces the characters. When reloading into designer, the file shows the 65533 symbol. EDIT: More info. I use &#233; and save, close SP designer, Reloading SP designer will show the é (instead of the code) in source. Next reload will have replaced it with &#65533; Question 1: (more important) HOW DO I STOP THIS!? Question 2: (more interesting) Why does this happen? Charset is iso-8859-1

• Issue scrolling table view with content inset

  Hi all, I am experiencing a weird scrolling issue and I was hoping someone could give me a hand in trying to identify why this is happening. I have included the part of my code that I think is relevant to the question but am happy to update this post with whatever else is needed. I have implemented a pull to refresh view in the tableview's content inset area. The refresh fires an Async NSURLConnection that pulls data from a webserver, parses the relevant information and refreshes the table as required. I have included a couple of screenshots below that clearly identify what is happening at the moment. Has anyone experienced this before? Any ideas on what I should be looking at to try and fix it? • How do I use jquery to both download & delete files dynamically from servlet

  Is it possible to a jquery $.get() to call a servlet and use it to both download a file or update the page without reloading the page? (Or more basically, can I download a file without reloading the page?) For example, I am using a servlet that either returns a file to download of mimetype "application/octet-stream", or returns text to be update in the page of type "text/html".   After adding the line to /etc/haproxy/haproxy.cfg as part of creating a transparent proxy, source 0.0.0.0 usesrc clientip restarting haproxy starts giving an error ~# service haproxy reload * Reloading haproxy haproxy [ALERT] 230/153724 (1140) : [/usr/sbin/haproxy.main()] Some configuration options require full privileges, so global.uid cannot be changed.   I wanted to ask about Nginx Retry of Requests. I have a Nginx running at the backend which then sends the requests to HaProxy which then passes it on the web server and the request is processed. I am reloading my Haproxy config dynamically to provide elasticity. The problem is that the requests are dropped when I reload Haproxy. So I wanted to have a solution where I can just retry that from Nginx. I looked through the proxy_connect_timeout, proxy_next_upstream in http module and max_fails and fail_timeout in server module. I initially only had 1 server in the upstream connections so I just that up twice now and less requests are getting dropped ( only when ) have say the same server twice in upstream , if I have same server 3-4 times drops increase ). So , firstly I wanted to now , that when a request is not able to establish connection from Nginx to Haproxy so while reloading it seems that conneciton is seen as error and straightway the request is dropped . So how can I either specify the time after the failure I want to retry the request from Nginx to upstream or the time before which Nginx treats it as failed request. • Error handling pppd configuration?

  I have a computer, running ubuntu, that I want to be connected to the network at all times. It has a GSM modem connected to it via USB. Is there some program available that monitors that the networking is working (by pinging some site(s)), and if not tries to fix the error by reseting the modem, reloading the USB drivers and perhaps by dropping the USB port's current (if possible) to force the modem to reset ?
