  Hi guys I have installed a samba PDC but when I test the samba configurations file I am getting errors like these, "Invalid combination of parameters for service homes. Map system can only work if create mask includes octal 010 (S_IXGRP)." You should also check for the use of anycast servers such as Amazon Route 53 and dyn.com services. Worldwide server location - Servers shall be located worldwide, not just in one country! Ipv6 support - It shall be possible to declare an AAAA entry to your server if it supports IPV6 Cost is of course an issue. Some service are free, Amazon Route 53 seems quite cheap. Reliability : SLA is also important, it demonstrate that reliability is measured. Your dns provider shall then state for a refund in case a failure is encountered. Anything else? • External Video Hosting - will it eat my bandwidth?

  I hav asked this question before, on serverfault, but have been unable to get a clear answer or spammy ones. A client runs a website with limited bandwidth per month (10gb) but wants his users to be able to download hq videos. Now if he would rent hosting space on amazon, for example, the downloads would still go through his website right? So would this then still eat his bandwidth then, or not? It there a way to circumvent this? How do you do this, if you have limited bandwidth? If you are kind enough to answer, please don't spam me with what is good and not good hosting, I already know.

Current LDAP integration with SugarCRM only does password management. Does anybody know of a plug-in that supports this? I've searched and have not been able to find anything. Has anybody change the LDAP module code within Sugar to accommodate these features? I'd be interested in chatting with you. I apologize if this isn't on the correct site; neither serverfault nor stackoverflow seemed like the correct place. Perhaps webapps? Thanks!

• How to set up bridged networking in Xen?

  I have 2 domU virtual machines installed on a 11.10 Oneiric Dom0. My internal network is on the 192.168.1 subnet, and when the domU's start, they get ips on the 192.168.122 subnet. I have attempted to follow the instructions here : http://wiki.kartbuilding.net/index.php/Xen_Networking xend-config.sxp is configured correctly, but neither of my domU's have a config file in /etc/xen to modify. ifconfig reports that I have the following devices : eth0, lo, tap3.0, vif3.0, vif4.0, virbr0 bridge-utils is installed. My question, I would like to build a site that targets many different key words for the search engines, for an example. Let's say I built a site about Outdoor activities called outdoorreview.com and I planned on having many sections hunting fishing Hiking camping cycling climbing etc... For best Search Engine results, how could I get the most search engine traffic to all these ares? Also how should I structure the way to get to them, outdoorreview.com/Hiking/ or hiking.outdoorreview.com ?

  If I am targeting the same audience, but the new sub-site has different concept from the existing site, should I create a new sub-domain or create a new domain? What are the seo advantages and disadvantages of creating a new sub-domain? For example Stack Exchange with Alexa rank 1.474 right now, has sub-domains such as programmers.stackexchange.com and other domains such us serverfault.com with rank 3.515 and stackoverflow.com with rank 109. So why didn't Stack Exchange put, for example, Stack Overflow in a sub-domain to create a better ranking?

• Java heap keeps on shrinking! What is happening in this graph of heap size?

  Hi Guys, This is a screen shot of a JVM (win64, 6u17) running ActiveMQ, after every garbage collection the heap size is reducing. As the heap size reduces garbage collection gets more frequent and the heap reduces more quickly. Eventually the VM locks up as it's spending all it's time in GC. -Xms is the default and -Xmx is 2048mb. What is happening!!? • #1130 - Host ‘localhost’ is not allowed to connect to this MySQL server

  I accidently changed the "host" value for the root user inside of the user table for mysql. I need to change it back to localhost because I changed it to arancillary2125 (my other machines DNS name) but I cannot access mysql (from PHPMYADMIN or command prompt) due to "localhost" not having permissions anymore. • SystemIO Exception when opening RFCOMM in Mono

  I have a Mono application which opens a RFCOMM connection (/dev/rfcomm0) but when I run as a user, I get a System.IO.IOException Interrupted system call. I'm running this on openSUSE 11.2. If I run the application under sudo, it works fine. I have added the dialup group to my user account so I'm not getting a permission denied error. I'm not sure if this is a Mono serial comms question or a permissions question for ServerFault.

• Overriding SetThreadExecutionState

  I am not sure if this belongs on serverfault or superuser. I would like to override SetThreadExecutionState(ES_DISPLAY_REQUIRED) to be a no-op. How is this accomplished? Is there some registry setting that can be altered instead of API hooking? Blocking ES_DISPLAY_REQUIRED will prevent apps from keeping the monitor powered on. I have an application (likely the antivirus) that is preventing some monitors from entering power-save and I think this function is the culprit.
