• TableView problem with Tab Bar!?!?!

  I created a tableView which worked fine in a single view app but as soon as I changed the view controller for a Tab Bar Controller and tapped the tab for the view with the table view in I suddenly get this!   I had to do an update in my WebView from the Appdelegate.m I try it like this: [self performSelectorOnMainThread:@selector(loadWebViewWithContent:) withObject:requestObj waitUntilDone:NO]; The loadWebViewWithContent Method works great from ViewController.m, but not from the Appdelegate.   I get this error when ever I try to connect my desktop with another desktop using SSH, but I'm able to ping the other desktop successfully. ssh: connect to host 192.168.1.7 port 22: Connection refused When I try to restart sshd, it says sshd : unrecognized service I can connect to remote server using SSH but I'm not able to connect within the local network. • Sony Ericsson Windows driver problem

  I've installed Update Service and MediaGo for my Sony Ericsson phone but one of the drivers that was installed along with the software is causing problems in Windows 7 x64. Looking in the Event Log I see the following warning: Detected unrecognized USB driver (\Driver\seehcri) This is the driver corresponding to the Sony Ericsson seehcri Control Device. The failure to recognize the USB driver is causing problems with other services, namely the VMware USB Arbitration Service. It should normally start automatically but, due to the failure to recognize the seehcri USB driver, it fails with the following error: Error 31: A device attached to the system is not functioning. Disabling the driver has not helped at all. The VMWare service still refuses to start and I keep getting both warnings in the Event Log. I would like to remove the Sony Ericsson driver but unfortunately, that's not possible. Uninstalling the Sony Ericsson seehcri Control Device from Device Manager causes Windows to almost completely freeze up while trying to look for drivers for unrecognized hardware. Windows tries over and over again to locate and install drivers for an Unknown device, failing every time. Looking in Device Manager, it simply fills up with hundreds of unknown devices, also using up the CPU to almost 85% in the process. What should I do? How can I safely remove the driver without causing Windows to look for a new driver?

  Hi, I migrated a site from IIS6 to Windows Server 2008 R2 IIS7.5. It has an asmx web service, which is working fine locally, but returns this 500 error when called from another machine: Request format is unrecognized for URL unexpectedly ending in /myMethodName The solution in previous versions is to add this to the web.config for the protocols needed (typically omitting HttpGet for production): <system.web> <webServices> <protocols> <add name="HttpGet" /> <add name="HttpPost" /> <add name="HttpSoap" /> </protocols> </webServices> </system.web> This is posted everywhere, including http://stackoverflow.com/questions/657313/request-format-is-unrecognized-for-url-unexpectedly-ending-in For IIS7.5, this throws a configuration error; I understand this section doesn't belong, but tried it anyway. I also boiled down the asmx call to a simple hello world. I tested with POST also, just to eliminate any issues with GET. • MySql server answer #2002

  Since this morning, phpmyadmin is giving me the error message #2002 the server doesn't answer (or the connection to local Mysql is not well configured) and a message about control-use. I'm disappointed it used to work until 2am last night and now the MySQL engine doesn't want to start (told me sometimes about sockets ..)   Can I user mono's AOT feature to natively "pre-compile" .NET DLLs (and or EXEs) to make them harder to reverse engineer? If so, how do I get mono/AOT working in Windows 7? (I'm running x64 but the app is targeting x86 explicitly.) I just installed Mono 2.6.3 and MinGW 5.1.6 and I'm trying to AOT compile an exe (or a dll, it doesn't matter).   I have a mapView to which I add annotations. The pin's callout have a button (rightCalloutAccessoryView). • SIGABRT on any UIView touch

  Hi. I'm afraid no amount of Googling has been able to save my hyde on this. I seem to be getting SIGABRT error anytime I touch the screen of the phone, on any UIView. The debugger console posts this error before the SIGABRT: .... [310:207] *** -[UIView _exclusiveTouchView]: unrecognized selector sent to instance 0x14c0c0 .... [310:207] *** Terminating app due to uncaught exception 'NSInvalidArgumentException', reason: '*** -[UIView _exclusiveTouchView]: unrecognized selector sent to instance 0x14c0c0' (this is not my specific call to _exclusiveTouchView, of course.) I would gladly post some code, but the truth is I cannot find (or guess) where this problem may be coming from. This is not happening on any ONE UIView but on all the UIViews in my stack. I can summarize the display logic, though, perhaps that will shed some light. So the application is created and a UIWindow is alloc'd. A single viewcontroller is then alloc'd, which makes and adds its own blank self.view, to which the other UIViews, representing the different game states, are attached. Interestingly enough, this error is does NOT happen on the Simulator, but happens consistently on the device. And I should also mention that the application has yet to override/use any of the touchesBegan:/Ended:/Moved: etc... In other words, this error happens without these methods in the code. I'm really not understanding where this error is coming from... Any suggestions?

• Calling method on category included from iPhone static library causes NSInvalidArgumentException

  I have created a static library to house some of my code like categories. I have a category for UIViews in "UIView-Extensions.h" named Extensions. In this category I have a method called: - (void)fadeOutWithDelay:(CGFloat)delay duration:(CGFloat)duration; Calling this method works fine on the simulator on Debug configuration. However, if try to run the app on the device I get a NSInvalidArgumentException: [UIView fadeOutWithDelay:duration:]: unrecognized selector sent to instance 0x1912b0 *** Terminating app due to uncaught exception 'NSInvalidArgumentException', reason: '*** -[UIView fadeOutWithDelay:duration:]: unrecognized selector sent to instance 0x1912b0 It seems for some reason UIView-Extensions.h is not being included in the device builds. What I have checked/tried I did try to include another category for NSString, and had the same issue. Other files, like whole classes and functions work fine. It is an issue that only happens with categories. I did a clean all targets, which did not fix the problem. I checked the static library project, the categories are included in the target's "copy headers" and "compile sources" groups. The static library is included in the main projects "link binary with library" group. Another project I have added the static library to works just fine. • Debugging unexpected error message - possible memory management problem?

  I am trying to debug an application that is throwing up strange (to my untutored eyed) errors. When I try to simply log the count of an array... NSLog(@"Array has %i items", [[self startingPlayers] count]); ...I sometimes get an error: -[NSCFString count]: unrecognized selector sent to instance 0x1002af600 or other times -[NSConcreteNotification count]: unrecognized selector sent to instance 0x1002af600 I am not sending 'count' to any NSString or NSNotification, and this line of code works fine normally. A Theory... Although the error varies, the crash happens at predictable times, immediately after I have run through some other code where I'm thinking I might have a memory management issue. Is it possible that the object reference is still pointing to something that is meant to be destroyed? Sorry if my terms are off, but perhaps it's expecting the array at the address it calls 'count' on, but finds another previous object that shouldn't still be there (eg an NSString)? Would this cause the problem? If so, what is the most efficient way to debug and find out what is that address? Most of my debugging up until now involves inserting NSLogs, so this would be a good opportunity to learn how to use the debugger.

• Can I load a UIImage from a URL?

  I have a URL for an image (got it from UIImagePickerController) but I no longer have the image in memory (the URL was saved from a previous run of the app). Can I reload the UIImage from the URL again? I see that UIImage has a imageWithContentsOfFile: but I have a URL. Can I use NSData's dataWithContentsOfURL: to read the URL? EDIT based on @Daniel's answer I tried the following code but it doesn't work... Any ideas why my NSString (photoURL's address is 0x536fbe0) doesn't respond to length? Why does it say it doesn't respond to -[NSURL length]? Doesn't it know that param is an NSString, not a NSURL?

• iPhone SDK: Switching to one view then back to previous view errors

  I have a UITabBarConroller that I use to switch between 3 different views. This all works perfectly. On one of my tabs, I added a button at the to called "Add", I have added an outlet to this, as well as an IBAction method which looks like the following: // Method used to load up view where we can add a new ride - (IBAction)showAddNewRideView { MyRidesViewController *controller = [[MyRidesViewController alloc] initWithNibName:@"AddNewRide" bundle:nil]; controller.modalTransitionStyle = UIModalTransitionStyleCoverVertical; [self presentModalViewController:controller animated:YES]; [controller release]; }//end showAddNewRideView This currently works fine, and loads up my AddNewRide nib file. But, once that view loads, I have a cancel button, which, when clicked, I want to return to the previous view.
