  • System.Device.Location.GeoLocation

I changed the latitude and longitude to random locations to protect the innocent. “Stumbled across this method this morning while coding all the math out by hand to calculate distances. This one is definitely worth filing away for future reference, saved me a ton of work. This was added in v4 of the framework, and is in the core framework install, so should work in services as well as client applications. var location1 = new GeoCoordinate(40.102, -94.788171); var location2 = new GeoCoordinate(50.0011, -96.699148); // distance shown is straight line meters. • Android–Supporting Multiple Devices Part 2

    - by rodelljr
Originally posted on: http://geekswithblogs.net/rodelljr/archive/2014/06/03/androidsupporting-multiple-devices-part-2.aspxI would like to thank the KC Mobile App Developers group for allowing me to do my presentation; Supporting Multiple Devices Part 2. In this talk, I discussed a Master/Detail application that runs on Android 2.2 devices and forward. I used the Actionbar compat Android library to allow the older devices to have an actionbar. I also used a SQLite database for my data. And just to add one last thing, I also incorporated the use of custom fonts. If you are interesting in looking at this sample application, I have uploaded it to my GitHub account here. I also have a Power Point presentation which you can get here.I will be doing this talk again at a later date this year, so when I have a date and location, I will post a follow up blog.

I'm using Ubuntu 12.04 64bit. I'm using HTTP proxy over ssh as mentioned here. If I do not start TinyProxy, everything is OK. But, when I start TinyProxy, I'm getting the following. I think there is an application running on my machine and watching the proxy to start. But I could not decide which one it could be. ps ax PID TTY STAT TIME COMMAND 1 ? Ss 0:01 /sbin/init 2 ? • Urlscan 3.1 block User Agent

    - by Benjamin
I need to block requests from certain User Agents to our Sharepoint Environment that have been identified after going through the IIS logs. I have tried the below by amending the urlscan.ini config file and doing and iisreset, but it doesn't block anything. Am I entering the correct strings? I'm copying user agent string from the iis logs http://blogs.msdn.com/rakkimk/archive/2009/06/12/urlscan-rejecting-the-request-depending-on-the-user-agent-string.aspx

  • Resgen al.exe generated resources do not work within .net library

    - by Raj G
Hi, I am currently working on a library in .Net and I planned to make the strings that are used within the library into culture specific resource files. I made Resources.resx, Resources.en-US.resx and Resources.ja-JP.resx file. I also deleted the Resources.designer.cs file autogenerated by visual studio 2008. I am loading Resources through my custom ResourceManager object [using GetString method]. The problem that I am facing is that when I compile the library within visual studio and set the culture from the calling application, everything is working fine. But if I manually go to the directory and change a string for a culture and regenerate the satellite assembly with resgen and al.exe, the string displayed, falls back to the invariant culture. I have attached the ildasm view of both the dlls en-US generated from within visual studio //Metadata version: v2.0.50727 .assembly extern mscorlib { .publickeytoken = (B7 7A 5C 56 19 34 E0 89 ) // .z\V.4.. .hash = (71 05 4D 54 C4 8D C2 90 7D 8B CF 57 2E B5 98 22 // q.MT....}..W..." • Mongodb performance on Windows

    - by Chris
I've been researching nosql options available for .NET lately and MongoDB is emerging as a clear winner in terms of availability and support, so tonight I decided to give it a go. I downloaded version 1.2.4 (Windows x64 binary) from the mongodb site and ran it with the following options: C:\mongodb\bin>mkdir data C:\mongodb\bin>mongod -dbpath ./data --cpu --quiet I then loaded up the latest mongodb-csharp driver from http://github.com/samus/mongodb-csharp and immediately ran the benchmark program. Having heard about how "amazingly fast" MongoDB is, I was rather shocked at the poor benchmark performance. Starting Tests encode (small).........................................320000 00:00:00.0156250 encode (medium)........................................80000 00:00:00.0625000 encode (large).........................................1818 00:00:02.7500000 decode (small).........................................320000 00:00:00.0156250 decode (medium)........................................160000 00:00:00.0312500 decode (large).........................................2370 00:00:02.1093750 insert (small, no index)...............................2176 00:00:02.2968750 insert (medium, no index)..............................2269 00:00:02.2031250 insert (large, no index)...............................778 00:00:06.4218750 insert (small, indexed)................................2051 00:00:02.4375000 insert (medium, indexed)...............................2133 00:00:02.3437500 insert (large, indexed)................................835 00:00:05.9843750 batch insert (small, no index).........................53333 00:00:00.0937500 batch insert (medium, no index)........................26666 00:00:00.1875000 batch insert (large, no index).........................1114 00:00:04.4843750 find_one (small, no index).............................350 00:00:14.2812500 find_one (medium, no index)............................204 00:00:24.4687500 find_one (large, no index).............................135 00:00:37.0156250 find_one (small, indexed)..............................352 00:00:14.1718750 find_one (medium, indexed).............................184 00:00:27.0937500 find_one (large, indexed)..............................128 00:00:38.9062500 find (small, no index).................................516 00:00:09.6718750 find (medium, no index)................................316 00:00:15.7812500 find (large, no index).................................216 00:00:23.0468750 find (small, indexed)..................................532 00:00:09.3906250 find (medium, indexed).................................346 00:00:14.4375000 find (large, indexed)..................................212 00:00:23.5468750 find range (small, indexed)............................440 00:00:11.3593750 find range (medium, indexed)...........................294 00:00:16.9531250 find range (large, indexed)............................199 00:00:25.0625000 Press any key to continue... For starters, I can get better non-batch insert performance from SQL Server Express. What really struck me, however, was the slow performance of the find_nnnn queries. Why is retrieving data from MongoDB so slow? What am I missing? Edit: This was all on the local machine, no network latency or anything. MongoDB's CPU usage ran at about 75% the entire time the test was running. Edit 2: Also, I ran a trace on the benchmark program and confirmed that 50% of the CPU time spent was waiting for MongoDB to return data, so it's not a performance issue with the C# driver.

  • CURL login by script to a Joomla website

    - by Paryeshakaya
    Hello, I need to login by a PHP script that uses CURL to a Joomla website, in order to access to a private page that needs to be processed, but nothwithstanding several attempts I have done, I have always a 403 error. I have done a similar thing with other websites and it worked. Script I use: $uname = "id"; $upswd = "pswd"; $url = "http://www.somewebpage.com"; $agent = "'Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; en-US; rv:1.8.0.6) Gecko/20060728 Firefox/1.5.0.6'"; $ch = curl_init(); curl_setopt($ch, CURLOPT_URL, $url ); curl_setopt($ch, CURLOPT_SSL_VERIFYPEER, FALSE ); curl_setopt($ch, CURLOPT_RETURNTRANSFER, TRUE ); curl_setopt($ch, CURLOPT_COOKIEJAR, './cookie.txt'); curl_setopt($ch, CURLOPT_COOKIEFILE, './cookie.txt'); curl_setopt($ch, CURLOPT_USERAGENT, $agent ); curl_setopt($ch, CURLOPT_HEADER, TRUE ); curl_setopt($ch, CURLOPT_REFERER, $url1); // POST fields $postfields = array(); $postfields['username'] = urlencode($uname); $postfields['passwd'] = urlencode($upswd); $postfields['remember'] = 'yes'; $postfields['option'] = 'login'; $postfields['op2'] = 'login'; $postfields['return'] = urlencode($url); $postfields['message'] = '0'; $postfields['force_session'] = '1'; $postfields['j3b00d36f4336137f4f03335c5eee6440'] = '1'; curl_setopt($ch, CURLOPT_POST, 1); curl_setopt($ch, CURLOPT_POSTFIELDS, $postfields); $ret = curl_exec($ch); The username and password, as well as the website URL I am using are perfectly working. This is the result I get: HTTP/1.1 100 Continue HTTP/1.1 403 Forbidden Date: Sat, 06 Feb 2010 08:29:36 GMT Server: Apache/2.2.13 (Unix) mod_ssl/2.2.13 OpenSSL/0.9.7a DAV/2 mod_auth_passthrough/2.1 mod_bwlimited/1.4 FrontPage/5.0.2.2635 X-Powered-By: PHP/5.2.10 Connection: close Transfer-Encoding: chunked Content-Type: text/html Is there something wrong in my CURL request?   • Why would Java classloading fail on Linux, but succeed on Windows?

I've got a Java web application (using Spring), deployed with Jetty. Both the machines have Sun's java, the Linux machine has 1.6.0_10, while the Windows machine has 1.6.0_08, or maybe 07 or 06, I can't remember the exact number right now, and don't have the machine at hand. But even though the minor versions of the Javas are slightly different, the code shouldn't break like this. Does anyone understand what's wrong here?

    - by Haroldo
Firstly, only reply if you have experience using API V3 (i can speculate myself!) I had a little go with V3 and it looked great but would love to hear from someone who's given it a bit of use before I start working with it and deploy it on a live site. I'm only looking to do very basic things: put markers on a map custom markers info bubbles It all looks very easy with v3: http://www.svennerberg.com/2009/06/google-maps-api-3-the-basics/ is it stable enough?

There is more code involved for checking token validation, but in my opinion at least MEX should get published and CreateBehavior() should get invoked in order for me to proceed further.

  • Find out CRC or CHECKSUM of RS232 data

I need to communicate with a RS232 device, I have no specs or information available. I send a 16 byte command and get a 16 byte result back. • Detect marker with opencv and python

    - by Mitch
Hi im trying to detect a marker in a webcam video feed and overlay it with a 3d object - pretty much exactly like this: http://www.morethantechnical.com/2009/06/28/augmented-reality-with-nyartoolkit-opencv-opengl/ i know artoolkit is the best module for this, but i was hoping to just use opencv in python since i dont know nearly enough c/c++ to be able to use artoolkit. im hoping someone will be able to get me on the right track towards detecting the marker and determining its location and orientation etc since i have no idea how best to go about this or what functions i should be using thanks mitch

  • trouble resolving location in <xs:import > element in C#

    - by BobC
I'm using an XML schema document to validate incoming data documents, however the schema appears be failing during compilation at run time because it refers to a complex type which part of an external schema. The external schema is specified in a element at the top of the document. I had thought it might be an access problem, so I moved a copy of the external document to a localhost folder. I get the same error, so now I'm wondering if there might be some sort of issue with the use of the element. The schema document fragment looks like this: <xs:schema targetNamespace="http://www.smpte-ra.org/schemas/429-7/2006/CPL" xmlns:cpl="http://www.smpte-ra.org/schemas/429-7/2006/CPL" xmlns:ds="http://www.w3.org/2000/09/xmldsig#" xmlns:xs="http://www.w3.org/2001/XMLSchema" elementFormDefault="qualified" attributeFormDefault="unqualified"> ... <xs:import namespace="http://www.w3.org/2000/09/xmldsig#" schemaLocation="http://localhost/TMSWebServices/XMLSchema/xmldsig-core-schema.xsd"/> ... <xs:element name="Signer" type="ds:KeyInfoType" minOccurs="0"/> ... </xs:schema> The code I'm trying to run this with is real simple (got it from http://dotnetslackers.com/Community/blogs/haissam/archive/2008/11/06/validate-xml-against-xsd-xml-schema-using-c.aspx) string XSDFILEPATH = @"http://localhost/TMSWebServices/XMLSchema/CPL.xsd"; string XMLFILEPATH = @"C:\foo\bar\files\TestCPLs\CPL_930f5e92-be03-440c-a2ff-a13f3f16e1d6.xml"; System.Xml.XmlReaderSettings settings = new System.Xml.XmlReaderSettings(); settings.Schemas.Add(null, XSDFILEPATH); settings.ValidationType = System.Xml.ValidationType.Schema; System.Xml.XmlDocument document = new System.Xml.XmlDocument(); document.Load(XMLFILEPATH); System.Xml.XmlReader rdr = System.Xml.XmlReader.Create(new StringReader(document.InnerXml), settings); while (rdr.Read()) { } Everything goes well until the line that instantiates the XMLReader object just before the while loop. Then it fails with a type not declared error. The type that it's trying to find, KeyInfoType, is defined in one of the the documents in the import element. I've made sure the namespaces line up. I wondered if the # signs in the namespace definitions were causing a problem, but removing them had no effect, it just changed what the error looked like (i.e. "Type 'http://www.w3.org/2000/09/xmldsig:KeyInfoType' is not declared." versus "Type 'http://www.w3.org/2000/09/xmldsig#:KeyInfoType' is not declared.") My suspicion is that there's something about the processing of the element that I'm missing. Any suggestions are very welcome. Thanks!

  • How to use Django with GWT ?

    - by Mononofu
So I know that I can communicate between those two using JSON, but I also know that I would have to manually recreate all Django objects in JS. Do you know of any tool or library that could help me do that? Or maybe even a better way of achieving the same goal? I only found these two: http://palantar.blogspot.com/2006/06/agad-tutorial-ish-sort-of-post.html http://stackoverflow.com/questions/990319/django-gwt-or-jquery But then I still would have to manually mirror my objects, which would violate DRY.

  • XML Postback issue

    - by Mikey1980
    I have a script that is designed to parse XML postbacks from Ultracart, right now just dumps it into a MySQL table. The script works fine if I point it to a XML file on my localhost but using 'php://input' it doesn't seem to grabbing anything. My logs show apache returning 200 after the post so I have no idea what could be wrong or how to drill down the issue.. here's the code: $doc = new DOMDocument(); $doc->loadXML($page); $handle = fopen("test2/".time().".xml", "w+"); fwrite($handle,trim($page)); // it doesn't save this either :'( fclose(); require_once('includes/database.php'); $db = new Database('localhost', 'user', 'password', 'db_name'); $data = array(); $exports = $doc->getElementsByTagName("export"); foreach ($exports as $export) { $orders = $export->getElementsByTagName("order"); foreach($orders as $order) { $data['order_id'] = $order->getElementsByTagName("order_id")->item(0)->nodeValue; $data['payment_status'] = $order->getElementsByTagName("payment_status")->item(0)->nodeValue; $date_array = explode(" ",$order->getElementsByTagName("payment_date_time")->item(0)->nodeValue); if ($date_array[1] == 'JAN') { $date_array[1] = '01'; } if ($date_array[1] == 'FEB') { $date_array[1] = '02'; } if ($date_array[1] == 'MAR') { $date_array[1] = '03'; } if ($date_array[1] == 'APR') { $date_array[1] = '04'; } if ($date_array[1] == 'MAY') { $date_array[1] = '05'; } // converts Ultracart date to if ($date_array[1] == 'JUN') { $date_array[1] = '06'; } // MySQL date if ($date_array[1] == 'JUL') { $date_array[1] = '07'; } if ($date_array[1] == 'AUG') { $date_array[1] = '08'; } if ($date_array[1] == 'SEP') { $date_array[1] = '09'; } if ($date_array[1] == 'OCT') { $date_array[1] = '10'; } if ($date_array[1] == 'NOV') { $date_array[1] = '11'; } if ($date_array[1] == 'DEC') { $date_array[1] = '12'; } $data['payment_date'] = $date_array[2]."-".$date_array[1]."-".$date_array[0]; $data['payment_time'] = $date_array[3]; //... we'll skip this, there are 80 some elements $data['discount'] = $order->getElementsByTagName("discount")->item(0)->nodeValue; $data['distribution_center_code'] = $order->getElementsByTagName("distribution_center_code")->item(0)->nodeValue; } } } $db->insert('order_history',$data); } else die('ERROR: Token Check Failed!');

  • Intersection of Inner Polygons of MKPolygon being colored - iOS

    - by Josh Glick
I am trying to create a fog of war style map where areas I have visited are uncovered and the rest of the map is "hidden". I am using a MKPolygonOverlay that covers the whole map and create inner polygons around all the locations I have visited. However in areas where these inner polygons overlap, that portion of the overlay is still being drawn. As a new user I can't post pictures but here is a link to the image: http://dl.dropbox.com/u/13815916/Screen%20Shot%202012-06-29%20at%204.40.20%20AM.png

  • Virtualenv with Eclipse (Galileo)

    - by Adam Nelson
Does anybody have directions for getting Eclipse (Galileo), PyDev, and Virtualenv working together? I'm specifically trying to run Pinax but any instructions are fine. I thought I had it (and even blogged everything but the final step - interactive debugging) and still there is no solution. I'm specifically on OS X but any answer should be sufficient. This is the best resource I've found so far: http://blog.vlku.com/index.php/2009/06/10/djangoeclipse-with-code-complete-screencast/

  • Printf in assembler doesn't print

    - by Gaim
Hi there, I have got a homework to hack program using buffer overflow ( with disassambling, program was written in C++, I haven't got the source code ). I have already managed it but I have a problem. I have to print some message on the screen, so I found out address of printf function, pushed address of "HACKED" and address of "%s" on the stack ( in this order ) and called that function. Called code passed well but nothing had been printed. I have tried to simulate the environment like in other place in the program but there has to be something wrong. Do you have any idea what I am doing wrong that I have no output, please? Thanks a lot EDIT: This program is running on Windows XP SP3 32b, written in C++, Intel asm there is the "hack" code CPU Disasm Address Hex dump Command Comments 0012F9A3 90 NOP ;hack begins 0012F9A4 90 NOP 0012F9A5 90 NOP 0012F9A6 89E5 MOV EBP,ESP 0012F9A8 83EC 7F SUB ESP,7F ;creating a place for working data 0012F9AB 83EC 7F SUB ESP,7F 0012F9AE 31C0 XOR EAX,EAX 0012F9B0 50 PUSH EAX 0012F9B1 50 PUSH EAX 0012F9B2 50 PUSH EAX 0012F9B3 89E8 MOV EAX,EBP 0012F9B5 83E8 09 SUB EAX,9 0012F9B8 BA 1406EDFF MOV EDX,FFED0614 ;address to jump, it is negative because there mustn't be 00 bytes 0012F9BD F7DA NOT EDX 0012F9BF FFE2 JMP EDX ;I have to jump because there are some values overwritten by the program 0012F9C1 90 NOP 0012F9C2 0090 00000000 ADD BYTE PTR DS:[EAX],DL 0012F9C8 90 NOP 0012F9C9 90 NOP 0012F9CA 90 NOP 0012F9CB 90 NOP 0012F9CC 6C INS BYTE PTR ES:[EDI],DX ; I/O command 0012F9CD 65:6E OUTS DX,BYTE PTR GS:[ESI] ; I/O command 0012F9CF 67:74 68 JE SHORT 0012FA3A ; Superfluous address size prefix 0012F9D2 2069 73 AND BYTE PTR DS:[ECX+73],CH 0012F9D5 203439 AND BYTE PTR DS:[EDI+ECX],DH 0012F9D8 34 2C XOR AL,2C 0012F9DA 2066 69 AND BYTE PTR DS:[ESI+69],AH 0012F9DD 72 73 JB SHORT 0012FA52 0012F9DF 74 20 JE SHORT 0012FA01 0012F9E1 3120 XOR DWORD PTR DS:[EAX],ESP 0012F9E3 6C INS BYTE PTR ES:[EDI],DX ; I/O command 0012F9E4 696E 65 7300909 IMUL EBP,DWORD PTR DS:[ESI+65],-6F6FFF8D 0012F9EB 90 NOP 0012F9EC 90 NOP 0012F9ED 90 NOP 0012F9EE 31DB XOR EBX,EBX ; hack continues 0012F9F0 8818 MOV BYTE PTR DS:[EAX],BL ; writing 00 behind word "HACKED" 0012F9F2 83E8 06 SUB EAX,6 0012F9F5 50 PUSH EAX ; address of "HACKED" 0012F9F6 B8 3B8CBEFF MOV EAX,FFBE8C3B 0012F9FB F7D0 NOT EAX 0012F9FD 50 PUSH EAX ; address of "%s" 0012F9FE B8 FFE4BFFF MOV EAX,FFBFE4FF 0012FA03 F7D0 NOT EAX 0012FA05 FFD0 CALL EAX ;address of printf This code is really ugly because I am new in assembler and there mustn't be null bytes because of buffer-overflow bug
