• Service redirection on same network

  I have a network on which I run multiple servers each dedicated to a given service. Because most services run on distinct ports I'm currently looking for a way of unifying "all" services into a single "proxy" machine. The idea is to abstract which machine is being accessed but still allow direct connection if needed/requested. This "proxy" machine has only one network interface which is part of the same network as all the other service providing machines. I've looked into Routing and NAT but I've so far failed to figure out how to make it work. I tried to achieve this using shorewall but couldn't find clear examples. However I'm not entirely sure this is the best/simplest strategy. With that said, what would be the best way of achieving this result? Example case: Proxy IP - Listening port - Send requests to 192.168.0.50 80 192.168.0.1:80 " 22 192.168.0.2:2222 " 3306 192.168.0.3:3000 " 5432 192.168.0.4:5432 " 5222 192.168.0.5:5222 PS: I'm not concerned with the single-point-of-failure nature of the proxy.   My server has three default gateways, how can that be? Shouldn't there be one default gw? • Joomla Admin module in "New Article" form?

  In Joomla 1.5, I am interested in developing a fairly simple module that I was hoping would live on the right side of the create new article page. I've created a handful of modules before, one on the admin page at the dashboard that is on the right side that you click to expand/collapse. So, can I create a module that I could attach to any new article form on the right side, somewhere under "advanced settings" or something? Thanks.

It's just been 2 months since we used it so now I have forgotten my login - my usual ones don't work.   I'm working on a website where a logged-in admin needs the ability to upload and manage multiple PDFs from their computer. They'd need to be able to upload/remove the files. Also, there would need to be a way that they can sort the list of uploaded files and save that order so that other visitors to the page would see the list of files in that particular order. • A list of pros and cons to giving developers “Local Admin” privileges to their machines? [closed]

  Possible Duplicate: Is local “User” rights enough or do developers need Local Administrator or Power User while coding? I currently work for a large utilities company which currently does not grant “Local Admin” access to developers. This is causing a lot of grief as anything that requires elevated privileges needs to be done by the Desktop Support/Server Teams. In some cases this can take several days and requires our developers to have to show why they need this access. I personally think that all developers should have local administration rights and are currently fighting with management to achieve this but I would like to know what other people think about this. To achieve this I would like to hear what people believe are the pros and cons of letting developers have local admin access to their machines.   I have a model similar to the following (simplified): models.py class Sample(models.Model): name=models.CharField(max_length=200) class Action(models.Model): samples=models.ManyToManyField(Sample) title=models.CharField(max_length=200) description=models.TextField() Now, if Action.samples would have been a ForeignKey instead of a ManyToManyField, when I display Action as a TabularInline in Sample in the Django Admin, I would get a number of rows, each containing a nice form to edit or add another Action. However; when I display the above as an inline using the following: class ActionInline(admin.TabularInline): model=Action.samples.through I get a select box listing all available actions, and not a nifty form to create a new Action. My question is really: How do I display the ManyToMany relation as an inline with a form to input information as described? In principle it should be possible since, from the Sample's point of view, the situation is identical in both cases; Each Sample has a list of Actions regardless if the relation is a ForeignKey or a ManyToManyRelation. Also; Through the Sample admin page, I never want to choose from existing Actions, only create new or edit old ones.
