• Lookup Multiple Results for Multiple Criteria

  I've got a list of parent SKUs for items I need to create in my inventory system. This list has been finely paired down to the 165 products we would like to carry. However, each one of these 165 SKUs has between 2 and 8 child SKUs of different colors, sizes, etc. Those are stored on a different worksheet, mixed into around 2500 items. Those are the SKUs I need to input into my inventory system. Here is what it looks like. Sheet 1 is just SKUs: A 1 2 3 4 Sheet 2 is comprised of all the child SKUs, with parent SKUs in column B. Not all parents have the same number of children: A B 1BLKM 1 1BLKL 1 1BLUM 1 2BLKM 2 2BLKL 2 2BLUM 2 2ORAM 2 3BLKM 3 3BLUM 3 I want to look up all of the child SKUs for the Parent SKU list that has been fine tuned. Parent SKU is included as a column on the child SKU worksheet. I need to lookup all matches of the Parent SKU, then continue to move down the parent SKU list until all matches for all 165 parent items have been found. It seems like every function I try can't use an Array for input. Is there a way to do this with Lookup or some combination of index, match, row, etc? Any way at all to do it without VBA? Or maybe even a VBA solution with code that I can understand, as someone who hasn't used VBA before.

• How to determine the source for wakeup in hibernate

  I have a big problem with my home theater PC that runs Windows 7 64Bit. Normally, I send that PC to hibernate every evening, but from time to time, it keeps waking up for no obvious reason, and stays on until I realize, which is sometimes half a day later :( I have already checked for Windows update, which is not set to automatical, since I prefer installing updates manually. When I look in the system event log, there is an entry called "Power Troubleshooter" which tells me that my system was reactivated at a specific time, but it also says: Source = Unknown, which is the most annoying part. So how can I actually figure out, which process reactivates the PC? Is it possible to set a group policy which forbidds applications or services from scheduling tasks that allow waking up from hibernate at all?

So if the LastRxNo is the same, have one line and the AdminTime column will have multiple values. Here is a picture of what I want it to look like Any ideas? I was thinking an IF function, but I'm not too familiar with Excel to get it to work. It was just made in the Microsoft Query tool in Excel.

  I have a data sheet with multiple values in multiple columns. I have a qty and a current price which when multiplied out gives me the current revenue (CurRev). I want to use this lookup table to give me the new revenue (NewRev) from the new price but can't figure out how to do multiple ifs in a lookup. What I want is to build a new column that checks the "Product", "Tier" and "Location/State" and gives me the new price from the lookup table (above) and then multiply that by the qty. e.g. Data > Product, Tier, Location, Qty, CurRev, NewRev > Product1, Tier1, VIC, 2, $1000.00, $6000 (2 x $3000) > Product2, Tier3, NSW, 1, $100.00, $200 (1 x $200) > Product1, Tier3, SA, 5, $250.00, $750 (5 x $150) > Product3, Tier1, ACT, 5, $100.00, $500(5 x $100) > Product2, Tier3, QLD, 2, $150.00, $240 (2 x $240) Worst case, if I just get the new rate I can create another column

• R: Plotting a graph with different colors of points based on advanced criteria

  What I would like to do is a plot (using ggplot), where the x axis represent years which have a different colour for the last three years in the plot than the rest. The last three years should also meet a certain criteria and based on this the last three years can either be red or green. The criteria is that the mean of the last three years should be less (making it green) or more (making it red) than the 66%-percentile of the remaining years. The only thing it does seem to do is that it turns the years before 2008 into one level and those after into another one and base the point colour off these two levels. Since I don’t want this year to be stationary either, I made another tiny function: fun3 <- function(x) { df <- subset(x, Year==(max(Year)-2)) df$Year } So the previous code would have the same effect as: geom_point(size=3, aes(colour=ifelse(df1$Year<fun3(df1), "black","red"))) But it still does not care about my colours. Why does it make the years into levels? And how come an ifelse function doesn’t work within another one in this case? How would it be possible to the arguments to do what I like? I realise this might be a bit messy, asking for a lot at the same time, but I hope my description is pretty clear. It would be helpful if someone could at least point me in the right direction. I tried to put the code for the plot into a function as well so I wouldn’t have to change the data frame at all functions within the plot, but I can’t get it to work. Thank you!

  Is it possible to use the criteria api to load a set of parent objects along with a filtered, eagerly loaded set of child objects? I'm trying to query a list of categories and at the same time load the categories products that start with the letter M. The query below gives me the results I want but the Products are not eagerly loaded, that is NHibernate performs additional queries when I enumerate the Product collection: var categoriesWithProducts = session.CreateCriteria<Category>() .SetFetchMode("Products", FetchMode.Eager) .CreateCriteria("Products") .Add(Expression.Like("Name", "M%")) .List<Category>(); What am I missing here?

  Hello, im using JPA2 with Hibernate 3.6.x I have made a simple testing on the @Version. Let's say we have 2 entities, Entity Team has a List of Player Entities, bidirectional relationship, lazy fetchtype, cascade-type All Both entities have @Version And here are the scenarios : Whenever a modification is made to one of the team/player entity, the team/player's version will be increased when flushed/commited (version on the modified record is increased). Adding a new player entity to team's collection using persist, the entity the team's version will be assigned after persist (adding a new entity, that new entity will got it's version). Whenever an addition/modification/removal is made to one of the player entity, the team's version will be increased when flushed/commited. (add/modify/remove child record, parent's version got increased also) I can understand the number 1 and 2, but the number 3, i dont understand, why the team's version got increased ? And that makes me think of other questions : What if i got Parent <- child <- granchildren relation ship. Will an addition or modification on the grandchildren increase the version of child and parent ? In scenario number 2, how can i get the version on the team before it's commited, like perhaps by using flush ? Is it a recommended way to get the parent's version after we do something to the child[s] ? Here's a code sample from my experiment, proving that when ReceivingGoodDetail is the owning side, and the version got increased in the ReceivingGood after flushing.   I am using the below piece of XSL to select the id of the text nodes whose content has a given index. This index value in input will be relative to a spcified node whose id value is known. The criteria to select the text node is, The text node content should contain a index say 'i' relative to node say 'n' whose id value i know. 'i' and 'id of n' is got as index and nodeName from the input param as seen in the xsl. Node 'd1e5' has the text content whose index ranges from 1 to 33. • PostgreSQL: BYTEA vs OID+Large Object?

  I started an application with Hibernate 3.2 and PostgreSQL 8.4. I have some byte[] fields that were mapped as @Basic (= PG bytea) and others that got mapped as @Lob (=PG Large Object). Why the inconsistency? Because I was a Hibernate noob. Now, those fields are max 4 Kb (but average is 2-3 kb). The PostgreSQL documentation mentioned that the LOs are good when the fields are big, but I didn't see what 'big' meant. I have upgraded to PostgreSQL 9.0 with Hibernate 3.6 and I was stuck to change the annotation to @Type(type="org.hibernate.type.PrimitiveByteArrayBlobType"). This bug has brought forward a potential compatibility issue, and I eventually found out that Large Objects are a pain to deal with, compared to a normal field. So I am thinking of changing all of it to bytea. But I am concerned that bytea fields are encoded in Hex, so there is some overhead in encoding and decoding, and this would hurt the performance. Are there good benchmarks about the performance of both of these? Anybody has made the switch and saw a difference?

• Trying to use a grails domain class from the shell

  I'm new to Grails. I'm trying to experiement with my grails domains from the shell, and I can't get it to work. These domains work fine from the scaffold code when I run the app. Given this domain class class IncomingCall { String caller_id Date call_time int call_length static constraints = { } } I try to create an "IncomingCall" and save it from the shell. No matter what I do, I always get "Null"; the object isn't created. And if I try to create the object and then do a save, I get the "No hibernate session bound to thread" error (see below). groovy:000> new IncomingCall(caller_id:'555-1212', call_time: new Date(), call_length:10).save() ERROR org.hibernate.HibernateException: No Hibernate Session bound to thread, and configuration does not allow creation of non-transactional one here at org.springframework.orm.hibernate3.SpringSessionContext.currentSession (SpringSessionContext.java:63) at org.hibernate.impl.SessionFactoryImpl.getCurrentSession (SessionFactoryImpl.java:574) at groovysh_evaluate.run (groovysh_evaluate:3) ... groovy:000> How can I make this work from the shell?

• Using EhCache for session.createCriteria(...).list()

  I'm benchmarking the performance gains from using a 2nd level cache in Hibernate (enabling EhCache), but it doesn't seem to improve performance. In fact, the time to perform the query slightly increases. The query is: session.createCriteria(MyEntity.class).list(); The entity is: @Entity @Cache(usage = CacheConcurrencyStrategy.NONSTRICT_READ_WRITE) public class MyEntity { @Id @GeneratedValue private long id; @Column(length=5000) private String data; //---SNIP getters and setters--- } My hibernate.cfg.xml is: <!-- all the normal stuff to get it to connect & map the entities plus:--> <property name="hibernate.cache.region.factory_class"> net.sf.ehcache.hibernate.EhCacheRegionFactory </property> The MyEntity table contains about 2000 rows. The problem is that before adding in the cache, the query above to list all entities took an average of 65 ms. After the cache, they take an average of 74 ms. Is there something I'm missing? Is there something extra that needs to be done that will increase performance?

  I have a simple example of a blog: a Post table, a Tag table and a Post_Tag_MM lookup table linking the two tables. I use this hql query in order to fetch all posts, that DONT have some tags: var result = session .CreateQuery(@" select p from Post p join p.Tags t where (select count(ti) from p.Tags ti where ti.Uid in (:uidList)) = 0 ") .SetParameterList("uidList", uidList) .SetResultTransformer(new DistinctRootEntityResultTransformer()) .List<Post>(); How can this many-to-many query and the subselect translated into a criteria query? I dont quite understand the DetachedCriteria API yet and could not get it to return the right resultset. Thank you very much in advance. Regards, Max
