• Understanding a multilayer perceptron network

  Hi all, I'm trying to understand how to train a multilayer, however, I'm having some trouble figuring out on choosing the amount of neurons in my network. For a specific task, I have four input sources that can each input one of three states. I guess that would mean four input neurons firing either 0, 1 or 2, but as far as I'm told, input should be kept binary? Furthermore am I having some issues choosing on the amount of neurons in the hidden layer. Any comments would be great. Thanks.

  I want to use Project Rome to create an RSS feed, using the code from the tutorial as base. I would like to add a pubsubhubbub discovery link, but there doesn't seem to be a general way to do so. I can use a Link object if I create an atom feed (which I don't want to limit myself to), or I can just add foreign markup, like this: // import org.jdom.Element Element element = new Element("link"); element.setAttribute("rel", "hub"); element.setAttribute("href", "https://myhub.example.com/endpoint"); feed.setForeignMarkup(Arrays.asList(element)); But it feels ugly. Is this really the best way to do this?

• Embed a Python persistance layer into a C++ application - good idea?

  say I'm about to write an application with a thin GUI layer, a really fat calculation layer (doing computationally heavy calibrations and other long-running stuff) and fairly simple persistance layer. I'm looking at building the GUI + calculation layer in C++ (using Qt for the gui parts). Now - would it be a crazy idea to build the persistance layer in Python, using sqlalchemy, and embed it into the C++ application, letting the layers interface with eachother through lightweigth data transfer objects (written in C++ but accessible from python)? (the other alternative I'm leaning towards would probably be to write the app in Python from the start, using the PyQt wrapper, and then calling into C++ for the computational tasks) Thanks, Rickard

• Provide "Paste Link" Functionality in C# Winforms App

  I would like to add Copy-Paste Link functionality to an application. The application replaces a complex Excel workbook. I would like to be able to copy tables, text, and charts from the application and use Paste Link in MS Word. For the uninitiated: With Excel, when you use Paste Link for the tables, text, charts, etc. the items update in Word when you change them in Excel. Does anyone know for sure if this is/is not possible (is it some proprietary feature of MS Word-Excel)? If not, can anyone point me to some resources that will help (either an app that does this or a tutorial/write-up). Thanks!

• Grails and PermGen issue with g:link and g:render

  I've been running grails for sometime without any issues but recently after an upgrade to Grails 1.1.1, I've encountered the dreaded PermGen errors. Prior to the upgrade, no such issue. The error seems to be happening when the <g:link> and <g:render> tags are used in a GSP although I'm not sure it's indicative that this is the issue but more of the fact that it ran out of space when these tags were being rendered. Typically, everyone who encounters PermGen errors recommend increasing your java environment options -- but what maybe the source of the issue? Is it a Grails 1.1/hibernate/spring problem? • Cucumber/Webrat: follow link by CSS class?

  Hello there, is it possible to follow a link by it's class name instead of the id, text or title? Given I have (haha, cucumber insider he?) the following html code: <div id="some_information_container"> <a href="edit" class="edit_button">Translation here</a> </div> I do not want to match by text because I'd have to care about the translation values in my tests I want to have my buttons look all the same style, so I will use the CSS class. I don't want to assign a id to every single link, because some of them are perfectly identified through the container and the link class Is there anything I missed in Cucumber/Webrat? Or do you have some advices to solve this in a better way?   I will be displaying news feeds from external websites on my website. So i need to open external links in those feeds in a new window, but give the user an option to return to my website. Basically I'm trying to replicate Google Images' technique of opening a link in a window with 2 frames - with the top frame having an option to "Remove Frame" and the bottom frame displaying the content of the link. Also, since the news feed will be dynamic, I don't want to hard-code anything. The code should be used automatically by any link appearing in the news feeds. Any ideas on how to do it?

  Hi! Through XForms, I generate an XML document. I need this XML document to be transformed by a specific XSL. How do I link the XSL to the XML through XForms?   I want to have a link in the popup.html file for my extension that loads another file (which will be included with the extension) how can I do this? or will I need to keep it in the same page? I tried using this code: <a href="/mail.html"> <img id="newmail_icon" src="" width="16" height="16" /> <span id="newmail">loading</span><br /> </a> But when I click the link nothing happens. I just found out that adding target="_blank" to the link will make it work and open in a new tab, but I can't get it to open in the popup. I have tried target="_self" but it didn't do anything.

  How to design such flexible DAL (specifically in .NET) ? What interfaces .NET provides and what should be done on my own ? Its a greenfield project starting with SQL Server as data source but in future, parts of it will move to different NoSQL type of datastores. Also, we may need to experiment with lot of different datastores (like some data may have to go with Cassandra, some with RDBMS, some to other DHT etc.) Therefore easily switchable access layer will be needed. All i know right now is the 'data' and 'operations needed on that data'.

• Retrieving/simulating run-time "layer" functionality in Flash under ActionScript 3.

  Are there any AS3 classes to help arrange objects into layers, like in the designer, such that the objects all have the same parent? Obviously, I can use container clips to simulate layers, but I specifically want this kind of functionality for objects that have the same parent. My understanding is that the design-time notion of layers does not exist at run-time, and objects just have a depth index. I'm creating a class to simulate layering functionality with a single parent, but if one already exists, I'd like to check it out. On a side note... how do design-time layer masks manifest themselves at runtime in AS3? I thought maybe all objects on the masked layer share the same mask object, but the "mask" property appears to be null for all objects on the masked layer, even though they share the same parent timeline as the unmasked objects (i.e. unmasked layer object parent == masked layer object parent; therefore, no masked subcontainers appear to be in use).

  Hello, I trying to do billing service. Seller can create bill from my website and send to the buyer. Once seller created bill, bill detail will be send to buyer email address. What I want to know is, at the bill information email, can i send payment link whether buyer can click payment link and carried to the paypal payment page directly. Will not be landing or redirecting from our page. Can it be possible ? Because when someone request money from paypal, we get the payment link from paypal which is directly go to the payment page. • Validation errors from Google App Engine Logout link

  I am making a web page using the Google App Engine. I am validating my pages, and found that the logout link that is generated by the call to the users api (in python) users.create_logout_url(request.uri) does not validate as XHTML 1.0 Strict. The href in the anchor tag looks like this: /_ah/login?continue=http%3A//localhost%3A8080/&action=Logout Including a link with this anchor text throws three different validation errors: *general entity "action" not defined and no default entity *reference to entity "action" for which no system identifier could be generated *EntityRef: expecting ';' Here is a dummy page with the anchor tag in it, if you want to try it on w3c validator.Dummy Page. The logout link wont work, but you can see how the page is valid without it, but the actual text inside the href tag breaks the validation. Any thoughts on whats going on? Thank you!

  Hi guys, I'm having trouble getting in touch with SQL Server Managemen Studio 2008! I want to create a link-table that will link an Event to many Audiences (EventAudience). An example of the data that could be contained: EventId | AudienceId 4 1 5 1 4 2 However, I don't want this: EventId | AudienceId 4 1 4 1 I've been looking at relationships and constraints.. but no joy so far! As a sneaky second part to the question, I would like to set up the Audience table such that if a row is deleted from Audience, it will clear down the EventAudience link table in a cascading manner. If we fill in that box, we can get the link by calling this function <?php echo get_comment_author_link(); ?> But if you are logged in and you don't add the website at your profile, when you leave comment. It doesn't have the link on your username. What I want is, if the logged-in user doesn't have the website, there will be the link which will be carry them to their profile page which is something like http://www.example.com?author=21 Is there any function that i can use out there ? • Passing a variable to javascript via a link.

  My website has a javascript variable (addselectedsubdivision) that loads a neighborhood name from a box on the left to a box on the right. I was hoping I could build a link and then us PHP to add the subdivision letter, neighborhood, and city so that when you click on the link it goes right to this page and loads the neighborhood name in the box on the right. However, I can't get the variable to pass to the new page. Any suggestions?   Is there something wrong with this link.exe command line? OpenGL32.lib and Glu32.lib are found at both of the LIBPATH directories. Is it possible the libraries are somehow incompatible? Is there a way to have the link.exe say that instead of unresolved external symbol? Googling shows that this error usually means the libraries are not found, but they are there.   I have to select web link when i mouse hover to particular frame in the webpage, the button(link to next page) will be visible. WebElement mainElement = driver.findElement(By.xpath(<frame xpath >)); Actions builder = new Actions(driver); builder.moveToElement(mainElement); WebElement button1 = driver.findElement(By.xpath("//*[@id='currentSkills']/div[1]/div/a")); builder.moveToElement(button1).click().perform(); I am still unable to select the particular link when i execute, the following error am getting org.openqa.selenium.ElementNotVisibleException: Element is not currently visible and so may not be interacted with (WARNING: The server did not provide any stacktrace information) Command duration or timeout: 131 milliseconds But when i hover mouse pointer to the particular frame during AUT(just to move to particular frame without clicking anything), then test is executing sucessfully. I know this can be handled by JS. But i want to find out is there any solution within selenium webdriver Your help is much appreciated... Thanks Madan
