  • Loop through children and display each, as3

    - by VideoDnd
    How do I loop through all of my children, and display each? I would like to know the best way to do this. my children and containerfive children, one plays every sec, 1,2,3, etc. var square1:Square1 = new Square1; var square2:Square2 = new Square2; var square3:Square3 = new Square3; var square4:Square4 = new Square4; var square5:Square5 = new Square5; var container:Sprite = new Sprite; addChild(container); container.addChild(square1) container.addChild(square2) container.addChild(square3) container.addChild(square4) container.addChild(square5) my timer var timly:Timer = new Timer(1000, 5); timly.start(); timly.addEventListener(TimerEvent.TIMER, onLoop); Note: Tried for loop, numChildren -1, and visibility ERROR 'access of undefined property' //Thomas's idea var timly:Timer = new Timer(1000, 10); timly.start(); timly.addEventListener(TimerEvent.TIMER, onLoop, false, 0, true); // var square1:Square1 = new Square1; square1.visible = false container.addChild(square2) var square2:Square2 = new Square2; square2.visible = false container.addChild(square3) var square3:Square3 = new Square3; square3.visible = false container.addChild(square3) var square4:Square4 = new Square4; square4.visible = false container.addChild(square4) var square5:Square5 = new Square5; square5.visible = false container.addChild(square5) var container:Sprite = new Sprite; this.addChild(container); var curCount:Number = 100; // function collectChildren(container:DisplayObjectContainer):Array { var len:int = container.numChildren; var mySquaresArray:Array = []; for (var i:int = 0; i < len; i++) { mySquaresArray.push(container.getChildAt(i).name); } return mySquaresArray; } // function onLoop( e:Event ) { curCount = e.target.currentCount; if( curCount > 1 ) { var previous_square = curCount -2; mySquaresArray[previous_square].visible = false; } var current_square = curCount - 1; mySquaresArray[current_square].visible = true; }

  • Differences between Assembly Code output of the same program

    - by ultrajohn
    I have been trying to replicate the buffer overflow example3 from this article aleph one I'm doing this as a practice for a project in a computer security course i'm taking so please, I badly need your help. I've been the following the example, performing the tasks as I go along. My problem is the assembly code dumped by gdb in my computer (i'm doing this on a debian linux image running on VM Ware) is different from that of the example in the article. There are some constructs which I find confusing. Here is the one from my computer: here is the one from the article... Dump of assembler code for function main: 0x8000490 <main>: pushl %ebp 0x8000491 <main+1>: movl %esp,%ebp 0x8000493 <main+3>: subl $0x4,%esp 0x8000496 <main+6>: movl $0x0,0xfffffffc(%ebp) 0x800049d <main+13>: pushl $0x3 0x800049f <main+15>: pushl $0x2 0x80004a1 <main+17>: pushl $0x1 0x80004a3 <main+19>: call 0x8000470 <function> 0x80004a8 <main+24>: addl $0xc,%esp 0x80004ab <main+27>: movl $0x1,0xfffffffc(%ebp) 0x80004b2 <main+34>: movl 0xfffffffc(%ebp),%eax 0x80004b5 <main+37>: pushl %eax 0x80004b6 <main+38>: pushl $0x80004f8 0x80004bb <main+43>: call 0x8000378 <printf> 0x80004c0 <main+48>: addl $0x8,%esp 0x80004c3 <main+51>: movl %ebp,%esp 0x80004c5 <main+53>: popl %ebp 0x80004c6 <main+54>: ret 0x80004c7 <main+55>: nop As you can see, there are differences between the two. I'm confuse and I can't understand totally the assembly code from my computer. I would like to know the differences between the two. How is pushl different from push, mov vs movl , and so on... what does the expression 0xhexavalue(%register) means? I am sorry If I'm asking a lot, But I badly need your help. Thanks for the help really...

  • JavaScript Loop and wait for function

    - by Fluidbyte
    I have a simple single-dimension array, let's say: fruits = ["apples","bananas","oranges","peaches","plums"]; I can loop thru with with $.each() function: $.each(fruits, function(index, fruit) { showFruit(fruit); }); but I'm calling to another function which I need to finish before moving on to the next item. So, if I have a function like this: function showFruit(fruit){ $.getScript('some/script.js',function(){ // Do stuff }) } What's the best way to make sure the previous fruit has been appended before moving on?

  • compare two following values in numpy array

    - by Billy Mitchell
    What is the best way to touch two following values in an numpy array? example: npdata = np.array([13,15,20,25]) for i in range( len(npdata) ): print npdata[i] - npdata[i+1] this looks really messed up and additionally needs exception code for the last iteration of the loop. any ideas? Thanks!

  • JQuery delay()-function breaks loop?

    - by Rakward
    I'm trying to fade an element in and out, but with a slight pause in between, it works without the pause, but when I add the pause using the jQuery delay()-function, it just stops; Here's the code: $('#headerimage2').each(function(){ for(i=1;i<50;i++){ $(this).fadeOut(1200).delay(1000).fadeIn(1000).delay(1000); } }); Why does the delay()-function (both first and second) break the loop?

  • Problem with continue in While Loop within Try/Catch in C# (2.0)

    - by csharpnoob
    Hi, when i try to use in my ASPX Webpage in the Code Behind this try{ while() { ... db.Open(); readDataMoney = new OleDbCommand("SELECT * FROM Customer WHERE card = '" + customer.card + "';", db).ExecuteReader(); while (readDataMoney.Read()) { try { if (!readDataMoney.IsDBNull(readDataMoney.GetOrdinal("Credit"))) { customer.credit = Convert.ToDouble(readDataMoney[readDataMoney.GetOrdinal("Credit")]); } if (!readDataMoney.IsDBNull(readDataMoney.GetOrdinal("Bonus"))) { customer.bonus = Convert.ToDouble(readDataMoney[readDataMoney.GetOrdinal("Bonus")]); } } catch (Exception ex) { Connector.writeLog("Money: " + ex.StackTrace + "" + ex.Message + "" + ex.Source); customer.credit = 0.0; customer.credit = 0.0; continue; } finally { } } readDataMoney.Close(); vsiDB.Close(); ... } }catch { continue; } The whole page hangs if there is a problem when the read from db isn't working. I tried to check for !isNull, but same problem. I have a lots of differend MDB Files to process, which are readonly (can't repair/compact) and some or others not. Same Design/Layout of Tables. With good old ASP Classic 3.0 all of them are processing with the "On Resume Next". I know I know. But that's how it is. Can't change the source. So the basic question: So is there any way to tell .NET to continue the loop whatever happens within the try loop if there is any exception? After a lots of wating time i get this exceptions: at System.Data.Common.UnsafeNativeMethods.IDBInitializeInitialize.Invoke(IntPtr pThis) at System.Data.OleDb.DataSourceWrapper.InitializeAndCreateSession(OleDbConnectionString constr, SessionWrapper& sessionWrapper) at System.Data.OleDb.OleDbConnectionInternal..ctor(OleDbConnectionString constr, OleDbConnection connection) at System.Data.OleDb.OleDbConnectionFactory.CreateConnection(DbConnectionOptions options, Object poolGroupProviderInfo, DbConnectionPool pool, DbConnection owningObject) at System.Data.ProviderBase.DbConnectionFactory.CreateNonPooledConnection(DbConnection owningConnection, DbConnectionPoolGroup poolGroup) at System.Data.ProviderBase.DbConnectionFactory.GetConnection(DbConnection owningConnection) at System.Data.ProviderBase.DbConnectionClosed.OpenConnection(DbConnection outerConnection, DbConnectionFactory connectionFactory) at System.Data.OleDb.OleDbConnection.Open() at GetCustomer(String card)Thread was being aborted.System.Data and System.Runtime.InteropServices.Marshal.ReadInt16(IntPtr ptr, Int32 ofs) System.Data.ProviderBase.DbBuffer.ReadInt16(Int32 offset) System.Data.OleDb.ColumnBinding.Value_I2() System.Data.OleDb.ColumnBinding.Value() System.Data.OleDb.OleDbDataReader.GetValue(Int32 ordinal) System.Data.OleDb.OleDbDataReader.get_Item(Int32 index) Thread was terminated.mscorlib Thanks for any help.

    - by Alex Xander
    I am trying to use strtok() in nested loop. But this is not giving me desired results. Possibly because they are using same memory location. My code is of the form:- char *token1 = strtok(Str1, "%"); while(token1 != NULL ) { char *token2 = strtok(Str2, "%"); while(token2 != NULL ) { //DO SMTHING token2 = strtok(NULL, "%"); } token1 = strtok(NULL, "%"); // Do something more }

  • What are the main differences between: Seaside vs Aida vs Iliad

    - by elviejo
    What are the differences between the three Smalltalk web application frameworks? Some starting points: What is the sweet spot for each framework? in Which case would you use one or the other? What are their weaknesses? Which one has the cleanest URLs? How do they handle Ajax? Do they have some preference in their use of persistence? I'm just trying to decide which framework is appropriate for each kind of application.

  • Empty "for" loop in Facebook ajax

    - by celticpride
    While surfing facebook and using the Firebug network debugger I noticed that facebook's AJAX responses all start with an empty for loop. Example: for(;;);{...} Does anyone know why this is done? I assume it's to prevent some sort of XSS attack but I don't totally understand. Thanks!

  • How can I set the main theme-font dynamically, in WordPress

    - by windyjonas
    I have created a theme where I already have a custom options page where I let the user set text for footer, twitter user and some other things and that works well. Now i'd like to add the functionality of letting the user select which font that should be used for content on the site. How can i accomplish this? I can probably create a php file that outputs something like: <style type="text/css"> body{ font-family: <?php echo get_option('my-font');?>; } </style> and include that file in header.php, but that means that I have to hit php for every request for this css and I want to avoid that if posssible.

  • Python loop | "do-while" over a tree

    - by johannix
    Is there a more Pythonic way to put this loop together?: while True: children = tree.getChildren() if not children: break tree = children[0] UPDATE: I think this syntax is probably what I'm going to go with: while tree.getChildren(): tree = tree.getChildren()[0]

  • escape from a linux cli for loop

    - by aidan
    I'm doing something like this: for f in `find -iname '*.html'`; do scp $f remoteserver:$f; done; I've got through about 3 of the 1000 files and I've decided I want to abort the operation. CTRL+C only escapes the SCP login prompt and takes me to the next one, rather than escaping the for loop. Is there a better way than hitting CTRL+C 9997 times? Thanks!
