  • Is Interop.Domino dll thread safe ?

    Hi , I am using Interop.Domino dll version 1.2 in c# application, and using multithreading to access multiple NSF file at same time by creating new session for each thread created (Max 5 threads at a time). For the large NSF files, I was getting the Notes error like memory segment overflow. To overcome this problem, i used Marshal.ReleaseComObject(object) to release the necessary Notesdocument, and NotesView object where ever possible. Now, the issues is like, i am able to access 2 NSF files but the rest threads are going in dll exceptions as few Notes object are getting null. Kindly provide me some help.... Thanks for help.

    I have multiple pages with java applet written with SWT. The problem is, applet loads only on first page, to load it on another page i need restart browser, otherwise i get following error: Exception in thread "Thread-27" java.lang.UnsatisfiedLinkError: Could not load SWT library. Do I really need to download Microsoft.web.mvc.dataannotation dll (The other dll is already present in the vs). to use(fire) datannotation on the page.? I am using partial views as well on the pages with dataviewmodel class(I will be using formviewmodel class for validation?)

  • activeX component in axapta

    hi folks, i'm struggling with an .net activeX i try to use in ms axapta 2009. using this component on my local machine where it was compiled, it's working quite fine. it can be added as activeX element on a form, the methods and events are listed in the axapta-activeX-explorer and i can interact with it without any problems. but trying to distribute the dll to other clients isn't working as intended. the registration of the dll via regasm /codebase /tlb works properly - getting the message, registration was successful. the component is also listed when selecting an activeX-element to add in ax, but neither functions nor properties are listed. and launching the form results in an errormessage - activeX component CLSID ... not found on system, not installed. the classID is indeed the one, defined in .net. strange things happen, having a look on the task-manager. the activeX-component itself is just a wrapper to interact with a com-application. when launching the ax-form with the not working and _not_installed_!! activeX-thing, the taskmanager shows a new process of the com-application, which is instanciated by the activeX :/ things i tried: using different versions of regasm, eg \Windows\Microsoft.NET\Framework\v2.0.50727 ; C:\Windows\Microsoft.NET\Framework64\v2.0.50727 using new GUIDs in .net, prior removing the old ones from the registry compiling, using different versions of the .net framework doing registration via regasm, regasm /codebase, regasm /codebase /tlb, using a visual-studio-setup running registration via command-line as administrator running setup as administrator running even ax as administrator on client-machine moving dll to a different folder followed by new registration ( windows/system32; ax/client/bin ) installing to GAC ( gacutil /i ) different project-options in visual studio ( COM-Visibility; register for COM-Interop; different targetPlatform ) hoped for the fact, that compiling in visual studio with register for COM-Interop option enabled does something more than just the regasm-registration, i used a registry-monitor-microsoft-tool for logging the registry-activity which happend during compilation. using these logs to create all registry-entries on the target-client in addition didn't work either. any hints or help would be so much appreciated! this thing is blocking me for days now :(

    So I cant find a definitive answer to the Question. How do you load the app.config file into a DLL. I understand that generally the App.config info should be put into the executable app.config. However i am building an add-in and have to executable available. I would like to use the namespace.dll.config file to store my variables, but i need a way of loading it into the system. Do you need to build out some code to load this file in? Can you use the configurationManager namespace to make this happen easily?

    Hi, I am using dotnetCHARTING: the dll is installed in the GAC and referenced in my web.config (all versions appear to match). The project has a reference to the dll. web.config: <add assembly="dotnetCHARTING, Version=5.3.3540.17054, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=af2cd47db69d93bd"/> The site code compiles ok, but all aspx pages using the charting library complain that the Chart tag does not exist (warning that it might be a compile error). The aspx pages do not render the charts. Each page has a reference to the assembly: <%@ Register Assembly="dotnetCHARTING" Namespace="dotnetCHARTING" TagPrefix="dotnetCHARTING" %> Does anybody know what could be causing this?   • Users suddenly missing write permissions to the root drive c within an active directory domain

    I'm managing an active directory single domain environment on some Windows Server 2008, Windows Server 2008 R2 and Windows Server 2012 machines. Since a few weeks I got a strange issue. Some users (not all!) report that they cannot any longer save, copy or write files to the root drive c, whether on their clients (vista, win 7) nor via remote desktop connection on a Windows Server 2008 machine. Even running programs that require direct write permissions to the root drive without administrator permissions fail to do so since then. The affected users have local administrator permissions. The question I'm facing now is: What caused this change of system behavior? Why did this happen? I didn't find out yet. What was the last thing I did before it happened? The last action that was made before it happened was the rollout of a GPO containing network drive mappings for the users depending on their security group membership. All network drives are located on a linux server with samba enabled. We did not change any UAC settings, and they have always been activated. However I can't imagine that rolling out this GPO caused the problem. Has anybody faced an issue like that? Just in case: I know that it is for a specific reason that an user without administrative privileges is prevented from writing to the root drive since windows vista and the implementation of UAC. I don't think that those users should be able to write to drive c, but I try to figure out why this is happening and a few weeks ago this was still working. I also know that a user who is a member of the local administrators group does not execute anything with administrator permissions per default unless he or she executes a program with this permissions. What did I do yet? I checked the permissions of the affected programs, the affected clients/server. Didn't find something special. I checked ALL of our GPOs if there exist any restrictions that could prevent the affected users from writing to the root drive. Did not find any settings. I checked the UAC settings of the affected users and compared those to other users that still can write to the root drive. Everything similar. I googled though the internet and tried to find someone who had a similar problem. Did not find one. Has anybody an idea? Thank you very much. Error-Code 0x80070522: The client is missing a required permission. The command icacls C: shows the following: NT-AUTORITY\SYSTEM:(OI)(CI)(F) PRE-DEFINED\Administrators:(OI)(CI)(F) computername\username:(OI)(CI)(F) A college just told me that also the primary domain-controller (PDC) changed from Windows Server 2008 to Windows Server 2012. That also may be a reason. Any suggestions?

    Hi, I'm a bit of a visual studio noob. I have just restarted a project in which I am using NHibernate. The project worked fine last time I used it but now is giving the following error. System.IO.FileLoadException: Could not load file or assembly 'Iesi.Collections, Version=1.0.0.3, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=aa95f207798dfdb4' or one of its dependencies. The located assembly's manifest definition does not match the assembly reference. (Exception from HRESULT: 0x80131040) at NHibernate.Cfg.Configuration.Reset() at NHibernate.Cfg.Configuration..ctor(SettingsFactory settingsFactory) at NHibernate.Cfg.Configuration..ctor() at Luther.Dao.Repositories.Session.NHibernateHelper..cctor() in NHibernateHelper.cs: line 18 I notice the current reference to the iesi dll ia at 1.0.1.0. What is the best way to get this up and running again? Try and find the appropriate version of the dll or sort out the manifest file? Any pointers much appreciated.

    Hi.. we have created a feature ,which have got 2 application pages. one is to activate the user control and the other one is for database configuration,for the database configuration the user have to give the .mdf and .ldf files to restore the database. For the restoration of database we have used microsoft.sqlserver.replication.dll, the feature is working fine, but when we deploy it on any other machine, at the time of activation it gives error, and the error is: Error: Cannot add the specified assembly to the global assembly cache: Microsoft.SqlServer.Replication.dll. Is it possible to parse Win32 DLL/Exe in C#.NET, read its export table,import table and get managed types from it. As its unmanaged PE(.NET doesn't allows you to convert unmanaged PE files to managed .NET assemblies, only it generates COM managed assemblies). So how to parse export and import tables of PE files and take all methods(signatures from it) in managed form.(e.g if char* as argument, it should display as IntPtr) Regards Usman

  • Custom draw button using uxtheme.dll

    I have implemented my custom button inheriting from CButton and drawing it by using uxtheme.dll (DrawThemeBackground with BP_PUSHBUTTON). Everything works fine but I have two statuses (Normal and Pressed) which Hot status is the same. It means when the user places the cursor over the button it is drawn alike regardless the button status (Pressed or not). This is a bit confusing to the user and I would like to change the way the button is drawn in Pressed & Hot status. Does anybody know a way? I have also thought about custumizing the whole drawing but the buttons use gradients, borders, shadows, etc. So it is not easy to achive the same look&feel drawing everything by myself. Is there a way to find the source code of the dll or know how to do it? Thanks in advance. Javier

    Hi, I developed an Outlook 2003 add-in which uses the com dll redemption. I created a visual studio 2008 setup project, added a custom action to run "caspol.exe -machine -addgroup 1 -strong -hex [key] -noname -noversion FullTrust -n \"Name\" -description \"desc\" and moved the registry keys under software to HKLM as described in http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/cc136646.aspx#AutoDeployVSTOse_InstallingtheAddinforAllUsers to ensure all-users compatibility. I included the redemption.dll in the setup with vsdrfCOMSelfReg (vsdrfCOM throwed an error). My problem is: When installing the setup on a test machine under an admin account, it runs fine under all users, however when we use the company wide software deployment which runs under a system account the setup executes but the add-in wont load. If I repair the installation with an admin account again it loads just fine. Shouldn't a system account have the required permissions to install all of the components? What options do I have?     I have a problem calling this function from a c++ DLL in c# INT32 WINAPI PM_COM_GetText(INT32 TextId, char* pBuf, INT32 BufSize); It writes a Text in a buffer for a given text id.   • C++ Project compiles as static lib, fails (linker error) as dynamic lib. why??

    Hi All. I've a VS2008 native C++ project, that I wish to compile as a DLL. It only references one external library (log4cplus.lib), and uses its functions. (also uses log4cplus's .h files , naturally). When I try to compile my project as a static library, it succeeeds. When I try as DLL, it fails : 1>MessageWriter.obj : error LNK2019: unresolved external symbol "public: static class log4cplus::Logger __cdecl log4cplus::Logger::getInstance(class std::basic_string<wchar_t,struct std::char_traits<wchar_t>,class std::allocator<wchar_t> > const &)" (?getInstance@Logger@log4cplus@@SA?AV12@ABV?$basic_string@_WU?$char_traits@_W@std@@V?$allocator@_W@2@@std@@@Z) referenced in function "class log4cplus::Logger __cdecl Log(void)" (?Log@@YA?AVLogger@log4cplus@@XZ) There are 4 more errors just like this related to functions within log4cplus.lib. It seems like something really stupid.. please help me :) Thanks!

  • TFS build problem: missing assembly in test output folder

    Hi all, I am trying to integrate unit test cases with a TFS build in our new solution. I've include the following configuration line in my TFSBuild.proj <ItemGroup> <TestContainer Include="$(OutDir)\%2aTest.dll" /> </ItemGroup> Which I think is the correct configuration since I only have 1 test project. However, when I do this, some dll is missing in the output folder of the test case, hence failing most of my test case. Has anyone run into this problem before? Thanks!

    Hi Guys, I'm looking for ways to speed my program to the max and one way I thought of was to strip all DLL's being run at startup and run them when they need to be. As an example, I have a DLL containing info required for an update module, but I don't want to have that running in the program if I don't need it till I have an update. (I know I can create a separate program and link it to that but this is just an example.) Is there anyway to attach this on a button click? Sorry if I haven't made my question understandable. Thanks
