  • MySQL Error for Mac OSx

    I'm trying to run the mysql command on my mac osx but keep getting the error: ERROR 2002 (HY000): Can't connect to local MySQL server through socket '/tmp/mysql.sock' (2) I did try researching this extensively but could'nt find a suitable solution. Most of the solutions refer to /etc/my.cnf but I don't seem to have this configuration file in the first place. I'm pretty much stuck and have been for quite a while. Any help is greatly appreciated.

    I am new in mysql cluster and mysql cluster and versions are not my choice. I setup four machines. Two of them manager , Two of them data cluster (ndb and mysqld). And i integrate with mysql utilities master/slave configuration. Everything working fine. Mysql version 5.6.17, ndb 7.3.5 , servers ubuntu 14.04. There will be no much transactions. The only important thing is HA. Everythings must be double. My problem is virtual ip. Since I have only one farm which have master slave configuration, how can i do it without proxy? If I must use proxy which proxy is better?

What do I need to do to make Django work with the MySQL drivers that come with gevent or Concurrence? Is there a step-by-step guide somewhere that I can follow? Is this a major undertaking? Thanks.

I'm trying to find out why I get mysql server has gone error. One my windows machines apache it stops because of this issue.     I have a server that has been running at high CPU load due to MySQL activity, when i run the command mysqladmin pr i often see a few queries with the state "writing to net". I had a look around and couldn't find much out about this other than the fact i read somewhere that this shouldnt be expected in usual MySQL activity. Any ideas what this could mean? Running MySQL 5.0.91-community on CentOS 4.8

    Got a problem with a mysql server installation on Debian. (Not my server so I have no idea what caused this...) Installing new applications that add a database fail with error: ERROR 1045 (28000): Access denied for user 'root'@'localhost' (using password: YES) I can log in with the user, I've flushed permissions...     Question about using DRBD to provide HA for MySQL. I need to be sure that my backup MySQL instance is always going to be in a functional state when the failover occurs. What happens, for example, if the primary dies part way through committing a transaction? Are we going to end up with data copied to the secondary that mysql can't handle? Or, what if the network goes away while the two are syncing, and not all of the data makes it across. It seems like it's possible to get into a state where incomplete data on the secondary makes it impossible for mysql to start up and read the database. Am I missing something?

    so i am getting this error when trying to connect to my mysql server. i have reinstalled MYSQL and php several times and tried a slew of command line work from info around the web.mysql is running and i know that my mysql.sock exists and is located in ~/private/tmp/ and also in ~/tmp/. i also have plenty of hard drive space. i have installed and setup phpmyadmin correctly only adding a password to 'Password for config auth'. AND i have connected to the server via Sequel Pro. so my question is what the heck is going on that i can't connect to the server via phpmyadmin? any guesses? also i'm on a 64-bit intel mac running snow leopard

    The mysql chars is utf-8, and the jsp page is also set to utf-8. I use the method: DriverManager.getConnection("jdbc:mysql://localhost:3306/jsptest?"+"useUnicode=true&characterEncoding=UTF-8","root",""); But it can not be use. When I insert Chinese chars into mysql and select it out, that would be proper functioning. The question is when I select some Chinese chars that I write into mysql at first, it would be all the "?" at the Chinese char place! Please watch the picture:

    I've recently suffered from a power outage on one of my monitoring servers at the office. The result of that outage caused for some database tables to get corrupted.   • Windows Embedded Compact 7 in Padua

    Yesterday I did a presentation about Windows CE at the University of Padua Even if the picture seems to suggest that I just showed and empty slide, I illustrated the new features of the OS and did a quick demo of Silverlight for Windows Embedded on Windows Embedded Compact 7 (I’ve to get used to this new name), showing the new tools that provide a better integration between Expression Blend and Visual Studio for the development of Silverlight applications (I hope to be able to write more on this topic soon!). The Operating System was running on some real hardware (TI OMAP3530 evaluation board) and many people had a chance to interact with the new customizable shell. Most of the 60 people attending were still awake at the end of the one hour and a half session, and some of them even asked questions! I would like to thank all the people attending and all the people of Arrow, Fortech Embedded Labs and the University of Padua that made this event possible and provide me the tool and the time to do this presentation.   • Mysql loses its root password

    I am having a strange problem, my mysql loses/resets the root password automatically. By which I mean that it resets it to none. It has happened twice this month. I am worried that it can be a security issue as data is open waiting only for someone trying no password! Here is the version: mysql --version mysql Ver 14.14 Distrib 5.1.56, for redhat-linux-gnu (i386) using readline 5.1 Any help would be appreciated.     Or Will I need to get the enterprise version? This is because I found this on MySQL's site: If you are running a MySQL production level system, we would like to direct your attention to the product description of MySQL Enterprise Edition at: http://mysql.com/products/enterprise/ When I check the features, it seems like the community edition does not support transactions, while the enterprise version does. If it is true that the community edition is not right for production, then it seems like posgresql may be my way out, for it supports transactions and it is fully opensource. Will the sql syntax need to change (much) if I have to change? Thank you.
