  • Attempt to create nested for loops generating missing arguments error

    - by JerryK
Am attempting to teach myself to program using Tcl. (I want to become more familiar with the language to understand someone else's code - SCID chess) The task i've set myself to motivate my learing of Tcl is to solve the 8 queens problem. My approach to creating a program is to sucessively 'prototype' a solution. So. I'm up to nesting a for loop holding the q pos on row 2 inside the for loop holding the q pos on row 1 Here is my code set allowd 1 set notallowd 0 for {set r1p 1} {$r1p <= 8} {incr r1p } { puts "1st row q placed at $r1p" ;# re-initialize r2 'free for q placemnt' array after every change of r1 q pos: for {set i 1 } {$i <= 8} {incr i} { set r2($i) $allowd } for { set r2($r1p) $notallowd ; set r2([eval $r1p-1]) $notallowd ; set r2([eval $r1p+1]) $notallowd ; set r2p 1} {$r2p <= 8} { incr r2p ;# end of 'next' arg of r2 forloop } ;# commnd arg of r2 forloop placed below: {puts "2nd row q placed at $r2p" } } My problem is that when i run the code the interpreter is aborting with the fatal error: "wrong #args should be for start test next command. I've gone over my code a few times and can't see that i've missed any of the for loop arguments.

  • How to avoid nested functions when using AJAX?

    - by Fletcher Moore
Sequential Asynchronous calls are gross. Is there a more readable solution? The problem is this is hard to follow: ajaxOne(function() { // do something ajaxTwo(function() { // do something ajaxThree() }); }); where the anonymous functions are callbacks that are called on server response. I'm using a third party API to make the AJAX calls, so I need a generic solution.

  • Accessing a nested hash in a controller

    - by Magicked
I have the following (snipped) parameters passed into my controller. Parameters: {"commit"=>"OK", "action"=>"set_incident_incident_status_id", "id"=>"1", "controller"=>"incidents", "incident"=>{"incident_status_id"=>"1"}} I know that if I want to select the incident, I can do: @incident = Incident.find(params[:id]) How do I access the "incident"={"incident_status_id"="1"}? I thought to try something like: @incident_status = IncidentStatus.find(params[:incident => :incident_status_id]) But that didn't work. I'm assuming it's just a syntax problem at this point, and I haven't found a solution yet. Any help would be much appreciated!

  • Firefox can not layout nested tables properly?

    - by ooplidi
    I want to implement a collapsible menu. I plan to use table component to simulate a menu, and nest a sub table into a table cell to simulate a sub menu. Below is my code, it works as expected in IE, Chrome and Safari, but it doesn't work well in Firefox: <html> <body> <div id="menu" style="position:absolute; left:150px; top:100px; z-index:1"> <table width="200px" height="90" border=1 cellpadding="0" cellspacing="0"> <tr> <td colspan=2>Money</td> </tr> <tr> <td colspan=2>Tool</td> </tr> <tr> <td>Food <table style="position:absolute; left:200px; top:60px; z-index:1" width="200px" height="60px" border="1" cellpadding="0" cellspacing="0"> <tr> <td>Cookie</td> </tr> <tr> <td>Fruit <table style="position:absolute; left:200px; top:30px; z-index:1" width="200px" height="60px" border="1" cellpadding="0" cellspacing="0"> <tr> <td>Apple</td> </tr> <tr> <td>Banana</td> </tr> </table> </td> </tr> </table> </td> </tr> </table> </div> </body> </html> It seems that Firefox think the "left" and "top" attribute for the level 3 menu is relative to the level 1 menu, so it layout the level 3 menu incorrectly. Other browsers will calculate the offset base on the level 2 menu, that works as expected. Is it a bug in Firefox? If so how can I work around it? I want my code to have the same behavior in all major browsers.

  • Need to use query column value in nested subquery

    - by Dustin
It seems I cannot use a column from the parent query in a sub query. How can I refactor this query to get what I need? dbo.func_getRelatedAcnts returns a table of related accounts (all children from a given account). Events and Profiles are related to accounts. SELECT COUNT(r.reg_id) FROM registrations r JOIN profiles p ON (r.reg_frn_pro_id = p.pro_id) JOIN events e ON (r.reg_frn_evt_id = e.evt_id) WHERE evt_frn_acnt_id NOT IN (SELECT * FROM dbo.func_getRelatedAcnts(p.pro_frn_acnt_id))

  • Posting form using javascript and json with nested objects

    - by Tim
    I have an html form that has the following structure: <input type="text" name="title" /> <input type="text" name="persons[0].name" /> <input type="text" name="persons[0].color" /> <input type="text" name="persons[1].name" /> <input type="text" name="persons[1].color" /> I would like to serialize this into the following json: { "title":"titlecontent", "persons":[ { "name":"person0name", "color":"red" }, { "name":"person1name", "color":"blue" } ] } Notice that the number of persons can vary from case to case. The structure of the html form can change, but the structure of the submitted json can't. How is this done the easiest?

  • Proper usage of Java Weak Reference in case of nested collections

    - by Tong Wang
I need to define a weak reference Map, whose value is a Set. I use Google collections' MapMaker, like this: Map<Class<? extends Object>, Set<Foo>> map = new MapMaker().weakKeys().weakValues().makeMap(); So, for Set<Foo>, can I use a normal HashSet? Or, do I have to create a weak HashSet, like this: Collections.newSetFromMap(new WeakHashMap<Foo, Boolean>()); And why? Another question, the key of my map is Class objects, when will a Class object become weakly reachable? In other words, what is the lifetime of a Class object? Thanks.

  • How can I use cURL to open multiple URLs simultaneously with PHP?

    - by Rob
Here is my current code: $SQL = mysql_query("SELECT url FROM urls") or die(mysql_error()); //Query the urls table while($resultSet = mysql_fetch_array($SQL)){ //Put all the urls into one variable // Now for some cURL to run it. $ch = curl_init($resultSet['url']); //load the urls curl_setopt($ch, CURLOPT_TIMEOUT, 2); //No need to wait for it to load. Execute it and go. curl_exec($ch); //Execute curl_close($ch); //Close it off } //While loop I'm relatively new to cURL. By relatively new, I mean this is my first time using cURL. Currently it loads one for two seconds, then loads the next one for 2 seconds, then the next. however, I want to make it load ALL of them at the same time. I'm sure its possible, I'm just unsure as to how. If someone could point me in the right direction, I'd appreciate it.

  • Firing PropertyChanged event in a complex, nested type in WPF

    - by John
Hey I have a question about the PropertyChanged vent firing in WPF whne it is used in a complex type. I have a class called DataStore and a list of Departments (an ObservableCollection), and each department again has a list of Products. Properties in the Product class that are changed also affect properties in the Department and DataStore class. How does each Product notify the Department it belongs to, and the DataStore (which is the mother class of all) that one or more of its properties have changed their values? Example: a product has a property NumberSoldToday and is bound. The Department has a property called TotalNumberOfProductsSold: public int TotalNumberOfProductsSold { get { int result = 0; foreach(Product p in this.products) result += p.NumberSoldToday; return result; } } And the data store has a property TotalProductsSold (for all departments): public int TotalProductsSold { get { int result = 0; foreach(Product p in this.deparments) result += p.TotalNumberOfProductsSold; return result; } } If all these properties are bound, and the innermost property changes, it must somehow notify that the value of the other 2 changed as well. How? The only way I can see this happening is to hook up the PropertyChanged event in each class. Th event must also fire when deleting, adding to the collection of products and deparments, respectively. Is there a better, more clever way to do this?

  • C# LINQ filtering with nested if statements

    - by Tim Sumrall
    I have a learning project where a data grid is filtered by 3 controls (a checkbox and 2 dropdowns) I'm about to wrap up and move on to another project as it works well but I don't like the complexity of nesting IF statements to capture all the possible combinations of the 3 filters and was wondering if there is a better way. For example: Something that would allow for more filters to be added easily rather than walking through all the nests and adding another level of madness. private void BuildQuery() { EntityQuery<MASTER_DOCKS> query = QDocksContext.GetMASTER_DOCKSQuery(); if (Tonnage.IsChecked.HasValue && Tonnage.IsChecked.Value) { if (null != FilterWaterWay.SelectedValue) { string WaterwaytoFilterBy = FilterWaterWay.SelectedValue.ToString(); if (!string.IsNullOrWhiteSpace(WaterwaytoFilterBy) && WaterwaytoFilterBy != "[Select WaterWay]") { if (null != FilterState.SelectedValue) { string StateToFilterBy = FilterState.SelectedValue.ToString(); if (null != FilterState.SelectedValue && !string.IsNullOrWhiteSpace(StateToFilterBy) && StateToFilterBy != "[Select State]") { if (!string.IsNullOrWhiteSpace(StateToFilterBy) && StateToFilterBy != "[Select State]") { query = query.Where(s => s.WTWY_NAME == WaterwaytoFilterBy && s.STATE == StateToFilterBy && (s.Tons != "0" && s.Tons != "")).OrderBy(s => s.WTWY_NAME); MyQuery.Text = "Tonnage, WW and State"; } } if (StateToFilterBy == "[Select State]") //waterway but no state { query = query.Where(s => s.WTWY_NAME == WaterwaytoFilterBy && (s.Tons != "0" && s.Tons != "")).OrderBy(s => s.WTWY_NAME); MyQuery.Text = "Tonnage, WW No State"; } } } else { if (null != FilterState.SelectedValue) { string StateToFilterBy = FilterState.SelectedValue.ToString(); if (null != FilterState.SelectedValue && !string.IsNullOrWhiteSpace(StateToFilterBy) && StateToFilterBy != "[Select State]") { if (!string.IsNullOrWhiteSpace(StateToFilterBy) && StateToFilterBy != "[Select State]") { query = query.Where(s => s.STATE == StateToFilterBy && (s.Tons != "0" && s.Tons != "")).OrderBy(s => s.WTWY_NAME); MyQuery.Text = "Tonnage State No WW"; } } else { query = query.Where(s => (s.Tons != "0" && s.Tons != "")); MyQuery.Text = "Tonnage No State No WW"; } } } } } else //no tonnage { if (null != FilterWaterWay.SelectedValue) { string WaterwaytoFilterBy = FilterWaterWay.SelectedValue.ToString(); if (!string.IsNullOrWhiteSpace(WaterwaytoFilterBy) && WaterwaytoFilterBy != "[Select WaterWay]") { if (null != FilterState.SelectedValue) { string StateToFilterBy = FilterState.SelectedValue.ToString(); if (null != FilterState.SelectedValue && !string.IsNullOrWhiteSpace(StateToFilterBy) && StateToFilterBy != "[Select State]") { if (!string.IsNullOrWhiteSpace(StateToFilterBy) && StateToFilterBy != "[Select State]") { query = query.Where(s => s.WTWY_NAME == WaterwaytoFilterBy && s.STATE == StateToFilterBy).OrderBy(s => s.WTWY_NAME); MyQuery.Text = "No Tonnage, WW and State"; } } if (StateToFilterBy == "[Select State]") //waterway but no state { query = query.Where(s => s.WTWY_NAME == WaterwaytoFilterBy).OrderBy(s => s.WTWY_NAME); MyQuery.Text = "No Tonnage, WW No State"; } } } else { if (null != FilterState.SelectedValue) { string StateToFilterBy = FilterState.SelectedValue.ToString(); if (null != FilterState.SelectedValue && !string.IsNullOrWhiteSpace(StateToFilterBy) && StateToFilterBy != "[Select State]") { if (!string.IsNullOrWhiteSpace(StateToFilterBy) && StateToFilterBy != "[Select State]") { query = query.Where(s => s.STATE == StateToFilterBy).OrderBy(s => s.WTWY_NAME); MyQuery.Text = "No Tonnage State No WW"; } } else { LoadAllData(); MyQuery.Text = "No Tonnage No State No WW"; } } } } } LoadOperation<MASTER_DOCKS> loadOp = this.QDocksContext.Load(query); DocksGrid.ItemsSource = loadOp.Entities; }

  • How do I map nested generics in NHibernate

    - by Gluip
In NHibernate you can map generics like this <class name="Units.Parameter`1[System.Int32], Units" table="parameter_int" > </class> But how can I map a class like this? Set<T> where T is a Parameter<int> like this Set<Parameter<int>> My mapping hbm.xml looking like this fails <class name="Set`1[[Units.Parameter`1[System.Int32], Units]],Units" table="settable"/> I simplified my mappings a little to get my point accross very clearly. Basically I want NHibernate to map generic class which has has generic type parameter. Want I understand from googling around is that NHibernate is not able to parse the name to the correct type in TypeNameParser.Parse() which result in the following error when adding the mapping to the configuration System.ArgumentException: Exception of type 'System.ArgumentException' was thrown. Parameter name: typeName@31 Anybody found a way around this limitation?

  • Nested Dynamic PHP Class

    - by user338844
Alright, I may just need a terminology update, but I have been playing in Magento and Joomla, and they do references like $mage = new Mage; $mage->block('blockname'); where class Mage through some process I am failing to figure out is calling: class blockname extends something{ } Don't quote me on that code, however I am looking to do something like that where I have a file that I can do $myscript-block('blockname'); and it will load and call the file with class blockname. I hope that is not too confusing, but any help is appreciated. Thanks in advance!

  • Rspec and Rails 3 - Problem Validating Nested Attribute Collection Size

    - by MunkiPhD
    When I create my Rspec tests, I keep getting a validation of false as opposed to true for the following tests. I've tried everything and the following is the measly code that I have now - so if it's waaaaay wrong, that's why. class Master < ActiveRecord::Base attr_accessible :name, :specific_size # Associations ---------------------- has_many :line_items accepts_nested_attributes_for :line_items, :allow_destroy => true, :reject_if => lambda { |a| a[:item_id].blank? } # Validations ----------------------- validates :name, :presence => true, :length => {:minimum => 3, :maximum => 30} validates :specific_size, :presence => true, :length => {:minimum => 4, :maximum => 30} validate :verify_items_count def verify_items_count if self.line_items.size < 2 errors.add(:base, "Not enough items to create a master") end end end And here it the items model: class LineItem < ActiveRecord::Base attr_accessible :specific_size, :other_item_type_id # Validations -------------------- validates :other_item_type_id, :presence => true validates :master_id, :presence => true validates :specific_size, :presence => true # Associations --------------------- belongs_to :other_item_type belongs_to :master end The RSpec Tests: before(:each) do @master_lines = [] @master_lines << LineItem.new(:other_item_type_id => 1, :master_id => 2, :specific_size => 1) @master_lines << LineItem.new(:other_item_type_id => 2, :master_id => 2, :specific_size => 1) @attr = {:name => "Some Master", :specific_size => "1 giga"} end it "should create a new instance given a valid name and specific size" do @master = Master.create(@attr) line_item_one = @master.line_items.build(:other_item_type_id => 1, :specific_size => 1) line_item_two = @master.line_items.build(:other_item_type_id => 2, :specific_size => 2) @master.line_items.size === 2 @master.should be_valid end it "should have at least two items to be valid" do master = Master.new(:name => "test name", :specific_size => "1 mega") master_item_one = LineItem.new(:other_item_type_id => 1, :specific_size => 2) master_item_two = LineItem.new(:other_item_type_id => 2, :specific_size => 1) master.line_items << master_item_one master.should_not be_valid master.line_items << master_item_two master.line_items.size.should === 2 master.should be_valid end I'm very new to Rspec and Rails - and I've been failing at this for the past couple of hours.   • rails - form to disply non-input type fields in nested form

Hi, I guess this is a newbie question, but what is the syntax in a form to show contents of fields not as a text box/area, but rather like label would appear. <% form_for @user do |f| %> <% f.fields_for :user_ingreds do |builder| %> <p> <%= builder.??? %> </p> <% end %> <% end%> user has many user_ingreds and accepts_nested_attributes for user_ingreds. • C# Using Reflection to Get a Generic Object's (and its Nested Objects) Properties

This is a scenario created to help understand what Im trying to achieve. I am trying to create a method that returns the specified property of a generic object e.g. public object getValue<TModel>(TModel item, string propertyName) where TModel : class{ PropertyInfo p = typeof(TModel).GetProperty(propertyName); return p.GetValue(item, null); } The code above works fine if you're looking for a property on the TModel item e.g. string customerName = getValue<Customer>(customer, "name"); However, if you want to find out what the customer's group's name is, it becomes a problem: e.g. string customerGroupName = getValue<Customer>(customer, "Group.name"); Hoping someone can give me some insight on this way out scenario - thanks.

  • Unit testing nested subflows (subflows of subflows)

    - by snusmumrik
I'm trying to write unit test for a flow, which has subflow, which, itself, has another subflow. I register first flow using FlowDefinitionResource getResource(FlowDefinitionResourceFactory resourceFactory). Then I register subflow definitions during test execution in FlowDefinitionRegistry before transitioning to them. Transitioning to "first level" subflow goes ok. The result of transitioning to subflow of current subflow - NoSuchFlowDefinitionException. The problem is that subflow definitions are all seem attached to the primary flow of the test and subflow can't be found within another subflow. Is there any way to attach subflow definition to another subflow in tests, which extend AbstractXmlFlowExecutionTests?
