    Many of us have probably seen the new SQL Server 2012 per core licensing, with Enterprise Edition at $6,874 per core super ceding the $27,495 per socket of SQL Server 2008 R2 (discounted to $19,188 for 4-way and $23,370 for 2-way in TPC benchmark reports) with Software Assurance at $6,874 per processor? Datacenter was $57,498 per processor, so the new per-core licensing puts 2012 EE on par with 2008R2 DC, at 8-cores per socket.   • Ubuntu Server adding a new user

    Hi i am new to Ubuntu server and i have been trying to add a new user. I typed in adduser then username and also tried useradd then username but it does seem to add a user but when i login i only get a dollar sign instead of user@servername. I have tried adding rules to allow me into the sudo for that username but i just can't work out why i only get the dollar sign. So would be really grateful if someone could help me with this Thanks....

  • Chrome Open in New Tab/Window Menu Items

    The problem is, both Firefox and Internet Explorer have "Open in New Tab" as the second option. This has become muscle memory for me by now, to the point that I don't use as often as I want to, solely because I can't open a page in a new tab without thinking about it. Is there a way to switch the position of "Open Link in new tab" and "Open link in new window", so that I can resume browsing as normal, or am I cursed by this user interface design nightmare by Google?

    I have used this Bookmark in Firefox so that my email would be autofilled and I only had to write in my password. PayPal has recently changed its login URL. Has anybody figured out a method to achieve this with the new URl ?     As announced on the Oracle Certification website, Java Architect, Java Developer, Solaris System Administrator and Solaris Security Administrator certification tracks will include a new mandatory course attendance requirement. Because of unforeseen disaster and subsequent recovery efforts underway in Japan, Oracle has extended the start date of this new requirement to October 1, 2011. Candidates may earn their certifications using the current track requirements (found on the Oracle Certification website) through September 30, 2011.

  • Rotate camera around player and set new forward directions

    I have a 3rd person camera which can rotate around the player. When I look at the back of the player and press forward, player goes forward. Then I rotate 360 around the player and "forward direction" is tilted for 90 degrees. So every 360 turn there is 90 degrees of direction change. For example when camera is facing the right side of the player, when I press button to move forward, I want player to turn to the left and make that the "new forward". I have Player object with Camera as child object. Camera object has Camera script. Inside Camera script there are Player and Camera classes. Player object itself, has Input Controller. Also I'm making this script for joystick/ controller primarily.   • Alt + Tab window switcher preview stoped working

    It just stopped working. After I boot Ubuntu it does not work. When I run unity --replace it works again, but after restart problem occurs again. And that happens on every reboot. I have some startup apps, but I don't think that can be the problem. Any idea? UPDATE: Looks like I had some problems with firefox causing Alt+Tab to stop working. After reinstalling firefox and computer restart it works.

    my problem is my courser is blinking for any windows that refresh. for example right now each litter i write the courser blink for it , well it's acceptable now but imagine what happen when i open facebook (each picture , each simple element in the web page the courser blink for it) , please help me i really want to move to Ubuntu but problems keep get in my way and push me back to windows PC status : Core i5 , 4G ram , Nvidia optimus 310m , 500G HDD. Condition : it was working good with Ubuntu 13.04 but after the ugprade to 13.10 the problem apear and thanks in advance

  • Browser window size statistics?

    I was wondering, are there any statistics available on what size users have their browser set to nowadays? I know the screen resolutions (we have analytics, which shows those as well) but I doubt a lot of people with 1280*xxx and higher still browse full-screen though. My boss is determined to keep our website 900px wide though, because that way people with 1800*xxx resolutions can have two browser windows next to eachother without having to scroll horizontally. I have never seen anyone browse with two adjacent browser windows like that except here at my current job, so I'm kind of doubting whether this is the best decision or just his personal preference. Anyone that can help out here?

    Once application is maximized (say "Cheese") how can I restore its size back to the original? Is it possible to drag-and-drop from one application to another application in Unity? If so, how can I do that? Suppose I have a Rhythmbox open and I would like to drag a picture from a Desktop location (actually where is it?) to Rhythmbox album art section in the lower left corner? Unity was poorly designed, IMHO.
