  • Inserting Google Maps into a WYSIWYG editor, then saving and retrieving properly

    - by Tatu Ulmanen
    Hi, I'm trying to extend jWysiwyg with an function to add a map from Google Maps. I can get the map all right, but I'm having problems with how to handle the generated map so it can be saved with the page and then retrieved. To open the process up a bit: User enters editor which is created using jWysiwyg. User clicks on a button which asks for an address, then returns the corresponding latitude and longitude. I use this location information to create a map using Google Maps API (V3), which I then insert into the editable WYSIWYG area. When I save the page, the whole Google generated HTML gets saved into the database, which will not work properly when opened next time (I get a grey box when I open up the page again). Now, the problem is that I need to insert the map in such a format that it will work afterwards (perhaps using <script> tags). I also need the map to be visible in the WYSIWYG editor itself, so I cannot just put in a placeholder tag which would later be populated with the correct map data. So, in short; how would you insert a Google Map into a WYSIWYG editor in a way that it is both visible/previewable from the editor itself and could also be saved in a format that would work properly when opened the next time?

  • WPF TreeViewItem Context Menu Unhighlights Item

    - by Snea
    I have been having problems with this for some time now, and have come up with some less-than-desirable solutions. The problem is that when a TreeViewItem's context menu is opened, the TreeViewItem is greyed out. Is it possible for a TreeViewItem to stay highlighted while its ContextMenu is open? The problem with the TreeViewItem greying out, is that it gives no relation to the context menu and the TreeViewItem, and it looks ugly. Generally, the code I use for setting a context menu is this. Sometimes the context menu will be generated by the code with a PreviewRightMouseButtonDown EventSetter, but it doesn't make a difference. <TreeView> <TreeView.Resources> <Style TargetType="{x:Type TreeViewItem}"> <Setter Property="ContextMenu"> <Setter.Value> <ContextMenu> <MenuItem Header="Menu Item 1" /> <MenuItem Header="Menu Item 2" /> </ContextMenu> </Setter.Value> </Setter> </Style> </TreeView.Resources> <TreeViewItem Header="Item 1"> <TreeViewItem Header="Sub-Item 1"/> </TreeViewItem> <TreeViewItem Header="Item 2"></TreeViewItem> </TreeView> So far the only solution I have found is to override the "grey" unfocused color with the focused color, but then the TreeView never seems unfocused, such as when another control is clicked on. I have had problems with ListViews as well.

  • WPF DatePicker IsEnabled property not changing appearance

    - by Jonathan
    I think I have found an issue with the DatePicker in the toolkit, perhaps some of you gurus can check it out. The issue is when setting the IsEnabled property of the DatePicker. If set in XAML, it stays grey even if you set the IsEnabled to true at run time. The same goes for the other way around should it start off being enabled. The button just changes the IsEnabled property of the date picker, you will see that when it becomes enabled, the style remains grayed out. <Window x:Class="WpfApplication3.Window1" xmlns="http://schemas.microsoft.com/winfx/2006/xaml/presentation" xmlns:x="http://schemas.microsoft.com/winfx/2006/xaml" xmlns:tk="http://schemas.microsoft.com/wpf/2008/toolkit" Title="Window1" Height="300" Width="300"> <StackPanel> <tk:DatePicker x:Name="txtDate" IsEnabled="False"></tk:DatePicker> <Button Height="25" Click="Button_Click"></Button> </StackPanel> </Window> private void Button_Click(object sender, RoutedEventArgs e) { txtDate.IsEnabled = !txtDate.IsEnabled; }

  • determine parity of a bit representation of a number in MIPS

    - by Hristo
    Is there some instruction in MIPS that will determine the parity of a certain bit representation? I know to determine whether a "number" has an even parity or an odd parity is to XOR the individual bits of the binary representation together, but that seems computationally-intensive for a set of MIPS instructions... and I need to do this as quick as possible. Also, the number I'm working in is represented in Grey Code... just to throw that in there. So is there some pseudo-instruction in MIPS to determine the parity of a "number" or do I have to do it by hand? If there is no MIPS instruction, which it seems very unlikely to be, any advice on how to do it by hand? Thanks, Hristo follow-up: I found a optimization, but my implementation isn't working. unsigned int v; // 32-bit word v ^= v >> 1; v ^= v >> 2; v = (v & 0x11111111U) * 0x11111111U; return (v >> 28) & 1;

  • HTML5 video (mp4 and ogv) problems in Safari and Firefox - but Chrome is all good

    - by qryss
    Hi folks, I have the following code: <video width="640" height="360" controls id="video-player" poster="/movies/poster.png"> <source src="/movies/640x360.m4v" type='video/mp4; codecs="avc1.42E01E, mp4a.40.2"'> <source src="/movies/640x360.ogv" type='video/ogg; codecs="theora, vorbis"'> </video> I'm using Rails (Mongrel in development and Mongrel+Apache in production). Chrome (Mac and Win) can play either file (tested by one then the other source tags) whether locally or from my production servers. Safari (Mac and Win) can play the mp4 file fine locally but not from production. Firefox 3.6 won't play the video in either OS. I just get a grey cross in the middle of the video player area. I've made sure that both Mongrel and Apache in each case have the right MIME types set. From Chrome's results I know there is nothing inherently wrong with my video files or the way the files are being asked for or delivered. Anyone got any clues? Or even a clue as to how to diagnose the problem? For Firefox I looked at https://developer.mozilla.org/En/Using_audio_and_video_in_Firefox where it refers to an 'error' event and an 'error' attribute. It seems the 'error' event is thrown pretty well straightaway and at that time there is no error attribute. Very helpful... :( Help enormously appreciated! Thanks in advance... Chris

  • Python: fetching SVG file using urllib is returning binary when I need ASCII

    - by Drew Dara-Abrams
    I'm using urllib (in Python) to fetch an SVG file: import urllib urllib.urlopen('http://alpha.vectors.cloudmade.com/BC9A493B41014CAABB98F0471D759707/-122.2487,37.87588,-122.265823,37.868054?styleid=1&viewport=400x231').read() which produces output of the sort: xb6\xf6\x00\xb3\xfb2\xff\xda\xc5\xf2\xc2\x14\xef\xcd\x82\x0b\xdbU\xb0\x81\xcaF\xd8\x1a\xf6\xdf[i)\xba\xcf\x80\xab\xd6\x8c\xe3l_\xe7\n\xed2,\xbdm\xa0_|\xbb\x12\xff\xb6\xf8\xda\xd9\xc3\xd9\t\xde\x9a\xf8\xae\xb3T\xa3\r`\x8a\x08!T\xfb8\x92\x95\x0c\xdd\x8b!\x02P\xea@\x98\x1c^\xc7\xda\\\xec\xe3\xe1\xbe,0\xcd\xbeZ~\x92\xb3\xfa\xdd\xfcbyu\xb8\x83\xbb\xbdS\x0f\x82\x0b\xfe\xf5_\xdawn\xff\xef_\xff\xe5\xfa\x1f?\xbf\xffoZ\x0f\x8b\xbfV\xf4\x04\x00' when I was expecting more like this: <?xml version='1.0' encoding='UTF-8'?> <svg xmlns="http://www.w3.org/2000/svg" xmlns:cm="http://cloudmade.com/" width="400" height="231"> <rect width="100%" height="100%" fill="#eae8dd" opacity="1"/> <g transform="scale(0.209849975856)"> <g transform="translate(13610569, 4561906)" flood-opacity="0.1" flood-color="grey"> <path d="M -13610027.720000000670552 -4562403.660000000149012 I guess this is an issue of binary vs. ASCII. Can anyone help me (a Python newbie) with the appropriate conversion so that I can get on with parsing and manipulating the SVG code?

  • what's the best way, using the TFS API, to add a label to a file?

    - by jcollum
    I'd like to add a label to a set of files using the TFS API. My code looks like this: VersionControlLabel label = new VersionControlLabel(this.vcServer, this.label, this.vcServer.AuthenticatedUser, this.labelScopeDirectory, this.labelComment); List<LabelItemSpec> labelSpecs = new List<LabelItemSpec>(); // iterate files and versions foreach (var fileAndVersion in this.filesAndVersions) { VersionSpec vs = null; Item i = null; // i have no idea why the itemspec is needed instead of the item and version... ItemSpec iSpec = new ItemSpec("{0}/{1}".FormatString(this.source, fileAndVersion.Key), RecursionType.None); GetItemAndVersionSpec(fileAndVersion.Key, fileAndVersion.Value, out vs, out i); labelSpecs.Add(new LabelItemSpec(iSpec, vs, false)); } this.vcServer.CreateLabel(label, labelSpecs.ToArray(), LabelChildOption.Merge); (there are some extension methods in there... this is all largely lifted from this blog post) The thing that concerns me is things like this in the MSDN docs: This enumeration supports the .NET Framework infrastructure and is not intended to be used directly from your code. So MSDN is telling me not to use that enumeration (LabelChildOption), which is afaik the only way to create a label and add it to a file. Is there a better way? Is this sort of a "grey" area in the TFS API?

  • java TrayIcon using image with transparent background

    - by Jack
    I am using the following code to set a tray icon in Windows and Linux. It works wonderful in Windows and works okay in Linux. In Linux (Ubuntu) I have my panel set to be (somewhat) transparent and when I add a GIF (with a transparent background) the background of the icon shows up all grey and ugly (see image, green diamond "!")....Any ideas on how to make the GIF image I am adding "keep" its transparent background? and the image I am using, if you'd like to test: import java.awt.*; import java.awt.event.*; public class TrayFun { static class ShowMessageListener implements ActionListener { TrayIcon trayIcon; String title; String message; TrayIcon.MessageType messageType; ShowMessageListener( TrayIcon trayIcon, String title, String message, TrayIcon.MessageType messageType) { this.trayIcon = trayIcon; this.title = title; this.message = message; this.messageType = messageType; } public void actionPerformed(ActionEvent e) { trayIcon.displayMessage(title, message, messageType); } } public static void main(String args[]) { Runnable runner = new Runnable() { public void run() { if (SystemTray.isSupported()) { final SystemTray tray = SystemTray.getSystemTray(); Image image = Toolkit.getDefaultToolkit().getImage("green_info.png"); PopupMenu popup = new PopupMenu(); final TrayIcon trayIcon = new TrayIcon(image, "The Tip Text", popup); trayIcon.setImageAutoSize(true); MenuItem item = new MenuItem("Close"); item.addActionListener(new ActionListener() { public void actionPerformed(ActionEvent e) { tray.remove(trayIcon); } }); popup.add(item); try { tray.add(trayIcon); } catch (AWTException e) { System.err.println("Can't add to tray"); } } else { System.err.println("Tray unavailable"); } } }; EventQueue.invokeLater(runner); } }

  • Output redirection still with colors in PowerShell

    - by stej
    Suppose I run msbuild like this: function Clean-Sln { param($sln) MSBuild.exe $sln /target:Clean } Clean-Sln c:\temp\SO.sln In Posh console the output is in colors. That's pretty handy - you spot colors just by watching the output. And e.g. not important messages are grey. Question I'd like to add ability to redirect it somewhere like this (simplified example): function Clean-Sln { param($sln) MSBuild.exe $sln /target:Clean | Redirect-AccordingToRedirectionVariable } $global:Redirection = 'Console' Clean-Sln c:\temp\SO.sln $global:Redirection = 'TempFile' Clean-Sln c:\temp\Another.sln If I use 'Console', the cmdlet/function Redirect-AccordingToRedirectionVariable should output the msbuild messages with colors the same way as the output was not piped. In other words - it should leave the output as it is. If I use 'TempFile', Redirect-AccordingToRedirectionVariable will store the output in a temp file. Is it even possible? I guess it is not :| Or do you have any advice how to achieve the goal? Possible solution: if ($Redirection -eq 'Console) { MSBuild.exe $sln /target:Clean | Redirect-AccordingToRedirectionVariable } else { MSBuild.exe $sln /target:Clean | Out-File c:\temp.txt } But if you imagine there can be many many msbuild calls, it's not ideal. Don't be shy to tell me any new suggestion how to cope with it ;) Any background info about redirections/coloring/outpu is welcome as well. (The problem is not msbuild specific, the problem touches any application that writes colored output)

  • page wide bread crumb bar as at apple.com/store

    - by punkish
    I want to build a (don't know what to call it other than) bread crumb bar at the top of the page, kinda like at http://store.apple.com/us/browse/home/shop_mac/software, y'know, at the top of the page, the horizontal, light grey bar that looks like so [home icon] | Shop Mac | Mac Software Help | Account | Cart Actually, I've got that bar working, with a curved, square left edge, the intermediate chevrons, and the curved, square right edge. So, my bar looks like so [ Home > Foo > Bar > Baz ] I have little graphics fragments that make up the [ and the and the ] and the middle parts. The only problem is, I want the right edge to be at the right edge of my page. So, the above bar should look like so [ Home > Foo > Bar > Baz ] I want to have a variable number of entries in my bread crumb bar... so, I could have "Home, Foo, Bar, Baz" or I could have "Home, Foo" or "Home, Foo, Bar, Baz, Qux" and so on. In other words, I want the right edge of my bar to be dynamically long enough to extend to the edge of my web page. Suggestions?

  • Using jQuery, setting Draggable on an element prevents blur from firing when you click the draggable

    - by Danno
    Using jQuery, when you set a blur event on a text box and set another element as draggable, when you click the draggable element, the blur event does not fire in FireFox. IE is a little better, you get the blur event but you don't get the click event on the draggable element. If you don't specify the cancel: "" in the draggable constructor, you will get the blur event to fire, but then the element you want to drag is not draggable. jQuery v1.3.2 jQuery UI v1.7.2 The console.log lines are for FireFox's FireBug plugin. <HTML> <HEAD> <TITLE>Blur/Click Workbench</TITLE> <script src="js/jquery.js" type="text/javascript" ></script> <script src="js/ui/ui.core.js" type="text/javascript"></script> <script src="js/ui/ui.draggable.js" type="text/javascript"></script> <script type="text/javascript"> function blurring() { console.log('1 - blurring - ' + $( this ).attr('id')); } function clicking() { console.log('2 - clicking - ' + $( this ).attr('id')); } $(document).ready(function() { $( ".draggableTool" ).draggable( { cancel: "" } ); $( '.property' ).blur( blurring ); $( '#labelContainer' ).click( clicking ); }); </script> </HEAD> <BODY> <input type='text' class='property' id='tb1' /> <br /> <input type='text' class='property' id='tb2' /> <br /> <label class='draggableTool' id='labelContainer' style='height:20px;position:absolute;'> <textarea id='taLabel' style='height:100%;background-color:white;border:1px solid grey;'>Label</textarea> </label> </BODY> </HTML>

  • Custom title of PreferenceActivity (problem)

    - by Emerald214
    I have the same problem like this question: Custom title bar in PreferenceActivity ?? After extending PreferenceActivity, I write this code in onCreate(), it just shows a blank grey title. I think it is a bug (because this solution works well with Activity). requestWindowFeature(Window.FEATURE_CUSTOM_TITLE); getWindow().setFeatureInt(Window.FEATURE_CUSTOM_TITLE, R.layout.window_title); super.onCreate(savedInstanceState); addPreferencesFromResource(R.xml.main_pref); Edited: window_title.xml <?xml version="1.0" encoding="utf-8"?> <LinearLayout xmlns:android="http://schemas.android.com/apk/res/android" android:orientation="horizontal" android:layout_width="match_parent" android:background="@color/titleBar" android:layout_height="wrap_content" android:gravity="center_vertical" android:paddingLeft="5dip" android:paddingRight="5dip"> <ImageView android:id="@+id/imageView1" android:src="@drawable/megadict_icon" android:layout_height="35dip" android:layout_width="35dip" android:layout_gravity="center_vertical"> </ImageView> <TextView android:layout_width="wrap_content" android:id="@+id/textView1" android:layout_height="wrap_content" android:textColor="@color/white" android:textSize="16dip" android:layout_weight="1" android:layout_gravity="center_vertical" android:text="@string/appName" android:paddingLeft="5dip" android:paddingRight="5dip"> </TextView> <ProgressBar style="?android:attr/progressBarStyleSmall" android:id="@+id/progressBar" android:layout_width="28dip" android:layout_height="28dip" android:layout_gravity="center_vertical" android:visibility="invisible"> </ProgressBar> </LinearLayout> main_pref.xml <?xml version="1.0" encoding="utf-8"?> <PreferenceScreen xmlns:android="http://schemas.android.com/apk/res/android" android:title="@string/mainPrefTitle"> <ListPreference android:entries="@array/languageStrings" android:entryValues="@array/languageValues" android:dialogTitle="@string/languagePrefTitle" android:title="@string/mainPrefTitle" android:key="languagePrefKey"> </ListPreference> </PreferenceScreen>

  • Eclipse does not refresh project files in package explorer view

    - by EugeneP
    Today I see a strange behaviour of Eclipse 3.5.2 for the first time in 3 months. First, when I run a main function, it runs a previously compiled version. Let's say I press Ctrl+F11 in the window with an open java class and existing main function. Usually it rebuilds the class and runs a new version. Today even if there was a compile mistake, it would run fine. So I guess it does not recompile the class. Next, more strangely, if I intentionally make a mistake in the code and Eclipse underlines those lines in red, still the project Explorer does not mark them as containing errors. They remain of grey color if there were not any errors. First I did not know how to solve this problem. I tried to reopen the project, restart Eclipse and finally reboot the OS. After the tenth attempt, after rebooting, Eclipse said that all project's files are "OUT OF SYNC with the file system". When I pressed "Refresh" - F5 on a project's header name in Project Explorer it finally marked all the files with errors as containing errors and running the main function gave the desired result. An hour of my work passed and this happened again , with the other project. All the same. No marking of files as red, running no matter what old version of class with no compile errors. And since Eclipse does not tell that files are out of sync, simply pressing F5 on a project cannot help. What can you suggest?

  • iReport / jFreeChart - Combining getItemPaint() override and series colors

    - by barneskd
    I'm attempting to create a bar chart that needs to use specific series colors for N number of categories and a separate color for 1 other category. Here is an example: http://i.imgur.com/1DeCF.png (Sorry, I don't have enough points to embed images yet) In the mockup, Categories 1-3 use a collection of 5 colors to render their series while Category 4 uses a single grey color. My first approach was to override the getItemPaint() method using a customizer class, but I can only figure out how to define a color on the category level, not the series level. Is it possible to define colors on category and/or series levels? Something like, If category != "Category4" Use colors A, B, C, D, and E in category's series Else Use color F in category's series Another thought I had was to combine iReport's Series Colors bar chart property and the getItemPaint() override; that way I could define the 5 colors to use in iReport and use the getItemPaint() override only in the case where the category equals "Category 4". So far I've had no luck combining the two; if the override is defined it overrides iReport's Series Color property.

  • WPF Textbox & Borders - curious resizing behavior

    - by CitizenParker
    The following XAML produces a window with strange behavior around the textbox: <Window x:Class="WpfSandbox.CuriousExample" xmlns="http://schemas.microsoft.com/winfx/2006/xaml/presentation" xmlns:x="http://schemas.microsoft.com/winfx/2006/xaml" Title="CuriousExample" Height="300" Width="300"> <DockPanel Margin="15"> <TextBox BorderThickness="1" BorderBrush="#FF000000"></TextBox> </DockPanel> </Window> What happens, at least during my limited testing, is that the textbox renders with an inset border pattern (top/left is black, right/bottom is grey). However, when you resize to any position except the original, the entire textbox border goes to black. Whenever you return the window to the exact number of on-screen pixels the form had when it first loaded, it's inset again. I'm guessing it isn't pixel snapping as I can easily correct the problem with this code: <Window x:Class="WpfSandbox.CuriousExample" xmlns="http://schemas.microsoft.com/winfx/2006/xaml/presentation" xmlns:x="http://schemas.microsoft.com/winfx/2006/xaml" Title="CuriousExample" Height="300" Width="300"> <DockPanel Margin="15"> <Border BorderThickness="1" BorderBrush="#FF000000"> <TextBox BorderThickness="0" ></TextBox> </Border> </DockPanel> </Window> Anyone care to venture an explanation as to what I'm seeing? Or is it all in my head? Like I said, the above workaround can resolve this problem - just trying to understand what is happening here. Thanks, -Scott

  • RelativeLayout differences between 1.5 and 2.1

    - by Kilnr
    I've got a ListView with items composed of RelativeLayouts. This is the relevant XML from the list items: <?xml version="1.0" encoding="utf-8"?> <RelativeLayout xmlns:android="http://schemas.android.com/apk/res/android" android:layout_width="fill_parent" android:layout_height="wrap_content"> <TextView android:id="@+id/xx" android:gravity="center_vertical" android:layout_width="wrap_content" android:layout_height="wrap_content" android:layout_gravity="center_vertical" android:layout_centerInParent="true" android:layout_alignParentLeft="true"/> <TextView android:id="@+id/title" android:layout_width="fill_parent" android:layout_height="wrap_content" android:layout_toRightOf="@id/xx" /> <TextView android:id="@+id/tag" android:layout_width="wrap_content" android:layout_height="wrap_content" android:layout_toRightOf="@id/xx" android:layout_below="@id/title" /> <TextView android:id="@+id/subtitle" android:layout_width="wrap_content" android:layout_height="wrap_content" android:layout_toRightOf="@id/tag" android:layout_below="@id/title" /> </RelativeLayout> On Android 2.1 (tested on a Nexus One), this shows the desired behavior: On Android 1.5 however (tested on a HTC Hero), it shows up like this: [edit] On 1.6 (emulator), it works as expected as well. The small grey line on the top left is what shows up in the first pic as "xx", so that should be vertically centered. As far as I can see, the XML dictates this, but for some reason, 1.5 ignores it. Why is this? I can't find anything about this difference, and I've been brute forcing any combination of layout_center, center, alignParent*, but to no avail... Can anyone shed some light on this? Thanks!

  • Forms/AD Authentication with Sharepoint

    - by David Lively
    All, I'm configuring Sharepoint to use forms authentication with LDAP/Active Directory. I'm new to Sharepoint, so if this is obvious, please point me in the right direction. Whenever I attempt to log in with a bad account or password, I get the very friendly (and correct) error message, The server could not sign you in. Make sure your user name and password are correct, and then try again. ... which implies that Sharepoint is able to communicate with AD. If I log in with a valid account, I get a page that says: (I added the grey bar to cover up the login name) Any suggestions? The account I'm logging in with is an administrator and has been granted full control in central administration. Also, interesting note: If I click the "sign in as a different user" link, and attempt to sign in using with the same credentials I just used, the site just redirects back to the login page, with no error or status message. If I then manually enter the site url, it again shows the "Error: Access Denied" page. Argh.

  • QPainter declared inside a run function creates artifact.

    - by yan bellavance
    I am rendering a QPixmap inside of a QThread. the code to paint is inside a function. If I declare the painter inside the drawChart function everything seems ok but if I declare the painter inside the run function the image is wrong in the sense that at the edge of a black and white area, the pixels at the interface are overlapped to give a grey. Does anyone know why this is so? Could it be because of the nature of the run function itself? //This is ok void RenderThread::run() { QImage image(resultSize, QImage::Format_RGB32); drawChart(&image); emit renderedImage(image, scaleFactor); } drawChart(&image){ QPainter painter(image); painter.doStuff()(; ... } //This gives a image that seems to have artifacts void RenderThread::run() { QImage image(resultSize, QImage::Format_RGB32); QPainter painter(image); drawChart(painter); emit renderedImage(image, scaleFactor); } drawChart(&painter){ painter.doStuff()(; ... }

  • Use of var keyword in C#

    - by kronoz
    After discussion with colleagues regarding the use of the 'var' keyword in C# 3 I wondered what people's opinions were on the appropriate uses of type inference via var? For example I rather lazily used var in questionable circumstances, e.g.:- foreach(var item in someList) { // ... } // Type of 'item' not clear. var something = someObject.SomeProperty; // Type of 'something' not clear. var something = someMethod(); // Type of 'something' not clear. More legitimate uses of var are as follows:- var l = new List<string>(); // Obvious what l will be. var s = new SomeClass(); // Obvious what s will be. Interestingly LINQ seems to be a bit of a grey area, e.g.:- var results = from r in dataContext.SomeTable select r; // Not *entirely clear* what results will be here. It's clear what results will be in that it will be a type which implements IEnumerable, however it isn't entirely obvious in the same way a var declaring a new object is. It's even worse when it comes to LINQ to objects, e.g.:- var results = from item in someList where item != 3 select item; This is no better than the equivilent foreach(var item in someList) { // ... } equivilent. There is a real concern about type safety here - for example if we were to place the results of that query into an overloaded method that accepted IEnumerable<int> and IEnumerable<double> the caller might inadvertently pass in the wrong type. Edit - var does maintain strong typing but the question is really whether it's dangerous for the type to not be immediately apparent on definition, something which is magnified when overloads mean compiler errors might not be issued when you unintentionally pass the wrong type to a method. • Using Custom MapType with Google Maps API

    - by Pat Long - Munkii Yebee
    I realise there are a couple of examples such as Maoki's Add Your Own Custom Map and Mike Williams' [link text][Google Maps API Tutorial] however I have looked at these and still end up with a Grey box. The API will not call my "getTileUrl" callback function. This is the javascript I am using var map = new GMap2(document.getElementById("map")); map.setUIToDefault(); var copyCollection = new GCopyrightCollection('Map Data:'); var copyright = new GCopyright(1, new GLatLngBounds(new GLatLng(-90, -180), new GLatLng(90, 180)), 0, "©2006 RunwayFinder.com"); copyCollection.addCopyright(copyright); var tilelayers = [new GTileLayer(copyCollection, 3, 11)]; tilelayers[0].getTileUrl = function (a, b) { var z = 17 - b; var f = "http://localhost:25213/test.jpg?x=" + a.x + "&y=" + a.y + "&zoom=" + z + "&width=100&height=100"; return f; }; var custommap = new GMapType(tilelayers, new GMercatorProjection(12), "Chart", { errorMessage: "No chart data available" }); map.addMapType(custommap); Can anyone see what it is i am doing wrong?

  • jQuery UI + Gmaps = Problems (for me at least) HELP!!

    - by Luis
    Hi there! I started using jQuery as soon as I found out about it, it is very powerfull but I started struggling when I tried to load Gmaps api into the tabs jQuery UI brings. Strangly enough in IE 6,7,8 it works fine, but in Firefox, Safari (I'm using mac but tested it in windows and they both give the same problems) the map doesn't load entirely. When I click on the tab where the map loads in, only part of the map is fully operational, the rest is grey and not clickable. Please take a look at the link below and click the third tab in firefox/safari and IE and you will see the problem. http://movewithusoverseas.com/index-new.php?z=product-info.html&pid=1 I don't know if it is a bug in the jQuery UI code or I'm doing something wrong. If I load the map out of the tabs the map is shown OK. I'm fighting with this problem for a week and a half... any help will be much appreciated. Thanks in advance. Luis

  • Getting a lightweight installation of java eclipse.

    - by liam
    Having dealt with yet another stupid eclipse problem, I want to try to get the lightest, most minimal eclipse installation as possible. To be clear, I use eclipse for two things: - Editing Java - Debugging Java Everything else I do through emacs/zsh (editing jsp/xml/js, file management, svn check-in, etc). I have not found any aspect of working in eclipse to do these tasks to be efficient or even reliable, so I do not want plug-ins that relate to it. From the eclipse.org site, this is the lightest install of eclipse that they have, and I don't want any of those things (bugzilla, mylyn, cvs, xml_ui), and have actually had problems with each of them even though I do not use them. So what is the minimal build I can get that will: 1) Ignore svn metadata 2) Includes the full-featured editor (intellisense and type-finding) 3) Includes the full-featured debugger (standard eclipse/jdk) Does not have any extra plug-ins, platforms, or "integrations" with other platforms, specifically, I don't want to deal with plug-ins relating to: Maven, JSP Validation, Javascript editing or validation, CVS or SVN, Mylyn, Spring or Hibernate "natures", app servers like a bundled tomcat/glassfish/etc, J2EE tools, or anything of the like. I do primarily spring/hibernate/web-mvc apps, and have never dealt with an eclipse plug-in that handles any of it gracefully, I can work effectively with my own toolset, but eclipse extensions do nothing but get in the way. I have worked with plain eclipse up to Ganymede, MyEclipse (up to 7.5), and the latest version of Spring-SourceTools, and find that they are all saddled with buggy useless plug-ins (though the combination is always different). Switching to netbeans/intellij is not an option, and my teammates work with svn-controlled .class/.project files, so it pretty much has to be eclipse. Does anyone have any good advice on how I can save a few grey hairs?

  • How to show jQuery is working/waiting/loading ?

    - by Kim
    How do I show a loading picture and/or message to the user ? If possible, would I like to know how to make it full screen with grey-dimmed background. Kinda like when viewing the large picture from some galleries (sorry, no example link). Currently do I add a CSS class which has the image and other formating, but its not working for some reason. Results from the search do get inserted into the div. HTML <div id="searchresults"></div> CSS div.loading { background-image: url('../img/loading.gif'); background-position: center; width: 80px; height: 80px; } JS $(document).ready(function(){ $('#searchform').submit(function(){ $('#searchresults').addClass('loading'); $.post('search.php', $('#'+this.id).serialize(),function(result){ $('#searchresults').html(result); }); $('#searchresults').removeClass('loading'); return false; }); });
