  I just upgraded to Ubuntu 13.10 3 days ago and since then I've been trying to install a couple of themes for example i tried MOKA theme and many more.whenever i try to install a theme when ever i add the PPA: and after that i type sudo apt-get update its shows this: W: Failed to fetch http://ppa.launchpad.net/jolicloud-team/ppa/ubuntu/dists/saucy/main/binary-i386/Packages 404 Not Found W: Failed to fetch http://ppa.launchpad.net/webupd8team/jupiter/ubuntu/dists/saucy/main/binary-i386/Packages 404 Not Found E: Some index files failed to download. • Tagging gone from Nautilus, GAJ, tracker

  I had installed Gnome Activity Journal, Zeitgeist and Tracker but borked the install by mixing the PPAs with the universe repos. I removed all the packages, did apt-get remove --purge, then did a locate to manually rm everything else. Then I reinstalled from the PPAs properly. Now I can't tag files anymore, either in Nautilus or GAJ. What packages are involved in tagging? What else might I be missing?

  I am doing a keyword analysis by correlating data between Google ANalytics and Google Adwords Keyword tool. So here is the confusion I check the local monthly searches (Sweden) for "SEO Packages" using the adwords keyword tool and it shows: 46 monthly searches Now I come back to GA and check the impressions for "SEO Packages" that we got from Sweden and the value is: 150 impressions. So basically: Local monthly searches in Sweden: 46 Monthly impression we got from Sweden: 150 How come we get 150 impressions out of only 150 searches?

• I think "/lib/modules/$(uname -r)/build" points to incorrect folder

  I compile/create my own deb packages of kernel with: make-kpkg --rootcmd fakeroot --initrd --append-to-version=$version --revision=1 kernel_image kernel_headers But when I install both packages, in /lib/modules/(*name_kernel_compiled*) it creates two links, sources and build, pointing to folder with sources, from I've compiled. sources link is correct but build should point to /usr/src/linux-(version kernel), don't you think?

But after the upgrade a lot of my image processing packages don't work some of their dependencies have been removed. Honestly there is not that much difference between 11.10 and 12.04. So please can someone tell me how to safely remove 12.04 and go back to 11.10 without losing documents, and source packages on my old Ubuntu. Thanks

• Probelms Intstalling Trac using apt-get Ubuntu Jaunty

  Hi, I'm having some issues getting apt to install trac correctly on my Ubuntu Jaunty Box. Using the command 'apt-get install trac' I get the following output: root@myserver:~# apt-get install trac Reading package lists... Done Building dependency tree Reading state information... Done Some packages could not be installed. This may mean that you have requested an impossible situation or if you are using the unstable distribution that some required packages have not yet been created or been moved out of Incoming. Since you only requested a single operation it is extremely likely that the package is simply not installable and a bug report against that package should be filed. The following information may help to resolve the situation: The following packages have unmet dependencies: trac: Depends: python-setuptools (> 0.5) but it is not installable Depends: python-pysqlite2 (>= 2.3.2) but it is not going to be installed Depends: python-subversion but it is not installable Depends: libjs-jquery but it is not installable Recommends: python-pygments (= 0.6) but it is not installable or enscript but it is not installable Recommends: python-tz but it is not installable E: Broken packages I have successfully used the command on my karmic kola desktop machine and am able to create new projects etc. I thought I might be able to solve the problem by installing all python related extensions. This produced a very similar output. I have Main, universe and multi-verse repositories enabled. Its a remote machine and I have no access to the gui. • switchless Infiniband between two servers on RHEL 6.3

  I have 2 servers running RHEL 6.3 which have 2 port Infiniband cards >lspci | grep -i infini 07:00.0 InfiniBand: QLogic Corp. IBA7322 QDR InfiniBand HCA (rev 02) I'm interested in connecting them directly to each other bypassing an Infiniband switch (which I don't have). Quick googling showed that at least in some configurations it's possible. I installed all RedHat Infiniband packages with yum groupinstall "Infiniband Support". However, ibv_devinfo shows that both ports in each card are down, which indicates that cables are not connected. But the cable is connected, although the LEDs are off on the cards (not a good sign). Another source of confusion for me is that according to this, RedHat doesn't come with OFED packages and I'm slightly hesitant to install them from source due to the lack of RedHat support for them... So where am I going with this? The questions I have are: is it possible to have a switchless/direct Infiniband connection between two servers the way I described above? If it's possible, do I have to use the OFED packages or can I configure everything with just the packages coming with RHEL. Why are the LEDs off on my servers even though the cable is connected? Any additional input/advice/pointers would be appreciated. P.S. I followed this guide for installation instructions. The Infiniband cards are clearly recognized by my OS and the rdma service is running. Update: I have opensm installed. When I run it it says: OpenSM 3.3.13 Command Line Arguments: Log File: /var/log/opensm.log ------------------------------------------------- OpenSM 3.3.13 Entering DISCOVERING state Using default GUID 0x1175000076e4c8 SM port is down and stays at that point.

Starting to download xdebug-2.0.5.tgz (289,234 bytes) ............................................................done: 289,234 bytes 67 source files, building running: phpize sh: phpize: not found ERROR: `phpize' failed A quick google tells me that phpize is a part of a package called php5-dev, so off I ran to install that. My problem is that using sudo apt-get install php5-dev fails with this output: sudo apt-get install php5-dev Reading package lists... Done Building dependency tree Reading state information... I'm guessing the fact that it's not entirely numeric is throwing apt-get off? I can probably install xdebug manually (though I've never done this before, so picture me with a deer clueless-newb in headlights look here, violently shaking my head and begging for a simpler solution) rather than via pecl / aptitude, but is there a way I can make aptitude install php5-dev despite the bogus 'broken package' claim? Is it even bogus, or am I misreading the error message? Alternatively: Could I install phpize in some other way (e.g. via pear or pecl)?
