• Convert latitude and longitude into northings and eastings

  Hi I have the following UK postcode dy8 3xt and know that the latitude and longitude is:- 54.452772 -2.156082 I also know that the Eastings, Northings for the postcode is:- 389490 283880 However I am struggling to find the equation that converts lat/long to northings and Eastings, I would prefer to have the equation in both in jScript and c# (I am being greedy)! Can anyone help? EDIT Thanks for your help so far guys, I am starting to learn something here esp. the terminology... Some more info, if you click on this link you can see the results I am looking for. The postcode I entered projects to lat/lng using WG S84 and the grid ref projects to OSGB.   A friend of mine has created a movie for my site, it's in .flv format. I've heard of the popular flash player called flowplayer, but I have a bad feeling such a player will not work on the ipad and other devices which do not support flash. Is there a way to play a video in the flash format through a non-flash player so that the content can be viewed on all devices? I'm open to any ideas. Perhaps I may even need to convert the video to another format somehow. Thanks for any help, Evan

  Hi all, I am using thick box 3.1 to load a pop up. It working well by using in the following way: <a href="filename.php" class="thickbox"> TEST </a> If we click on the TEST now then the popup is working well and good. Now my prob is: I need to call this popup in form load using JavaScript. I do something like below: <script type="text/javascript"> window.location.href = "filename.php" </script> it's just redirecting to that particular file. But not showing in the pop up. • Tablesorter, Color rows depending on an specific value

  Hi all, I've been looking around for a solution to this thing but I haven't found anything similar to what I'm looking for. The thing is that I've got a table filled with data from a database, and what I want is to change the background colour of an specific row depending on a value of the class I'm loading in each row. The thing is that I have to display some data but as the fields to be displayed are quite a lot, I don't have more space to show an status field, so I would like to show the row in red if the status is inactive, and the rest of the rows in the normal color of the blue stylesheet. Is there a way to do that through tablesorter? I'm opened to suggestions, as I'm not sure how to do it. Thank you all in advance, Victor

• Rails prettyPhoto does not show photo with jquery (instead redirect to photo page)

  i do all instruction for use prettyPhoto in https://github.com/hiq5/prettyphoto-rails. and i do this to show a single photo( not gallery ) =link_to image_tag(photo.photo_url(:thumb).to_s, :alt => photo.name ,:class => "img-polaroid"), photo.photo_url, :rel => 'prettyPhoto' but still redirect to photo url and show photo, and doesn't use jQuery to show it on the current page. i check it with chrome development tools, there isn't any error. i use haml to generate views (instead erb), and carrierwave to upload photos. by the way I use twitter bootstrap. any help is appreciated.

• Flash player "now playing list" without interrupting current song

  I am designing a website that plays music. I need a flash player that has or can handle a now playing list. The problem I am facing is that I cannot update the playlist without refreshing the player which means it will interrupt the song that is currently playing. I have trying with JW player in particular so far and have not been successful. All i am able to do is pass a playlist as an xml file but not able to update it without refreshing the playlist. Is there any other player that would better suit my needs? Is there a way i can do this with jw player itself

• Overlaying image also fades when images change in IE6 jQ slideshow

  I have a pretty basic slideshow fading between images. On top of that slideshow I have a logo that is absolute positioned to stay partly over the slideshow. It works perfectly, but then there is IE6. In IE6 the part of the logo that is overlaying the slideshow also fades when the images change in the slideshow. I really do not want to have half the logo in all the pictures in the slideshow, but that seems to be the only solution right now. • Which is the most memory leak safe approach.

  I have a table of frequently updated information. This is presented using a container div with a div for each row, each row containing 10 divs. I am using setInterval to call a an asmx webservice that returns some json formatted information. On the success callback I call $("#myContainer").empty(); on the container div and recreate the rows and 10 nested divs for each row's columns. This page may be left to run for a whole day, so I am wary of updating the DOM like this as I have noticed that memory does rise for the browser over time (IE8). The other approach I am considering is to add an idea to the row div. When new results process each item of data, look for the corresponding row, if it exists overwrite the data in each div. If it doesn't exist (new data for example), append the row. What approaches have others used for this sort of long lived pseudo realtime information display. TIA
