  Is it possible to detect if a visitor is on the index page or domain root with client side scripting? I figure javascript would be the best method as I would like to append a value to an image file based on wether a visitor is on the home page or not. • JSON Feed Appears to be XHR when it should be JS

  I don't get why it'd doing this with the 2nd feed (appearing as a XHR call rather than just JS [looking at it in Firefox/Firebug]). The 2nd feed has the exact same MIME type as Flickr's JSON feed, yet the PortlandOregon.gov one shows as XHR and i get a NULL callback when using $.getJSON and if i use $.ajax with a 'json' or 'jsonp' type i get nothing at all. If i do the Flickr one i get the normal "[object Object]" callback. Whats going on? Please help! This has been such a headache for about a week. And i have authorization to change the feed, but i have to request the change, so if anyone knows for absolute sure let me know that! • Trying to integrate Jeditable+MarkItUp and Thickbox/Lightbox

  I've managed to successfully integrate MarkItUp with Jeditable based on the instructions on those two sites. What I would really like to do, however, is to have the Jeditable/MarkItUp editing window appear in a Thickbox or Lightbox overlay. So far my attempts to do this have not been successful.   I did some googling and figured I'm probably experiencing so called "event bubbling" that I've never heard of but are not surprised by it's existance. I want it to fire only once and I'm wondering how to fix this. Basically, I have this small code snippet: $('.bggallery_images').click(function () { alert('test'); }); This is supposed to fire once from a php snippet that basically adds an image of each image from a specific folder. It then outputs an echo string where each image has the class of "bggallery_images". • Is it better to have client (Javascript) processing HTML rather than C# processing HTML?

  We are in the process of building a huge site. We are contemplating on whether to do the processing of HTML at server side (ASP .Net) or at the client side. For example we have HTML files which acts like templates for the generation of tabs. Is it better for the server side to get hold of content section (div) of HTML load the appropriate values and send the updated HTML to the browser or is it better that a chunk of data is passed onto client and make Javascript do the work? Any justification with respect to either ways will be helpful. Thanks.

• Keep Side Navigation Fixed with Scrolling of page

I've had a quick go (not live) with position fixed but in doing so it the leftside navigation is about 200px or so from the top of the window.   On BBC articles, such as this one, there is a DOM element with class story-body, deep in the DOM chain. I want to hide all DOM element "outside" of this (unique) DOM element. The problem is that I can't just do $('*').hide(); $('.story-body'); because I need to make sure to keep the parents, grand-parents, etc. of story-body. I also can't do $('*').hide(); var current = $('.story-body').show(); while(current = current.parent()) { current.show(); } because that would simply show everything. Any suggestions?

• How do I include 2 tables in LocalStorage?

  I've got a table that you can edit, and I've got a simple code saving that list when you're done with editing it. (the tables have the contenteditable on) The problem I've stumbled upon is that if I double click on enter, the table gets divided into two separate tables with the same ID. This causes the code I'm using to set the localStorage to only store one of the tables (I assume the first).. I've thought of different solutions and I wonder if someone could point out the pro's and con's (if the solutions even works that is). Make a loop that checks the page after tables and stores them into an array of localStorage-items.. I'd have to dynamically create a localStorage item for each table. Take the whole div that the tables are in, and store that in the localStorage, when a user revisits the page, the page checks after the items in storage and displays the whole divs. Any suggestions you have that can beat this :).. (but no cache, it has to be with the localStorage!) Thanks

• FullCalendar Events: Confused how to enable resizing.

I looked at the source of the calendar on the main FullCalendar page, and my code is no different save that I get my events from a source rather than explicitly define them.
