SQLce create table "index field" explanation (SQL Management Studio) ?

Hi, I'm new to databases, and now creating SQLCE database in Management Studio. There is a value in brackets; [UQ_Users_0000000000000028], which seems a bit random to me, so would just like to ask if someone could explain this field? I'm trying to make an accurate Visual Studio scheme. I set hi function to blood color (#9A1102) for the "CSS function" (selector). But now the brackets with properties (id, class) in html elements also have blood color: (ironically the same color here in Stackoverflow). "Pattern matching" of algebraic type data constructors

Let's consider a data type with many constructors: data T = Alpha Int | Beta Int | Gamma Int Int | Delta Int I want to write a function to check if two values are produced with the same constructor: sameK (Alpha _) (Alpha _) = True sameK (Beta _) (Beta _) = True sameK (Gamma _ _) (Gamma _ _) = True sameK _ _ = False Maintaining sameK is not much fun, it is potentially buggy. For example, when new constructors are added to T, it's easy to forget to update sameK. I omitted one line to give an example: -- it’s easy to forget: -- sameK (Delta _) (Delta _) = True The question is how to avoid boilerplate in sameK? Or how to make sure it checks for all T constructors? Rails app Hangs and Ruby uses 100% CPU

I have an apache2 server running Phusion Passenger. On this machine I have two virtual hosts setup each look like this (path's are different for the 2nd virtualhost...but other directives are the same) ServerName beta.mysite.us DocumentRoot "/var/www/beta/mysite/public" <Directory "/var/www/beta/mysite/public"> RewriteEngine on AllowOverride All Options FollowSymLinks </Directory> # http://www.modrails.com/documentation/Users guide.html PassengerAppRoot "/var/www/beta/mysite" RailsEnv development PassengerMaxPoolSize 6 PassengerDefaultUser mysite # PassengerHighPerformance does come at a trade off of lack of support for mod_rewrite PassengerHighPerformance off RailsSpawnMethod conservative RailsFrameworkSpawnerIdleTime 0 RailsAppSpawnerIdleTime 0 PassengerPoolIdleTime 300 ErrorLog "/var/log/httpd/mysite-beta-error_log" CustomLog "/var/log/httpd/mysite-beta-access_log" common Apache starts fine. I can go to one of the virtualhosts and it will load Rails and work. When I go to the second virtualhost, a ruby process spawns ("Rails: /var/www/mysite/current" according to ps awuxf) and uses 100% CPU. This process never exits. At this point neither virtualhost is responsive. If I kill the the offending ruby process, another ruby process replaces it and uses 100% cpu. If I kill these processes about 5-6 times, then both virtualhosts respond but they, are somehow, running the same Rails app?! I have another virtualhost on this machine that is not setup with phusion passenger..This one never exhibits any problems. Any help / ideas would be much appreciated!

When it finds the "title" key, I need to add those to an array. Then the next sections that would use the "gallery" key needs to be in its own array until it finds another "title" key. Then the "gallery" keys after that into their own array. I am using this a UITableView section titles and content. So, the NSDictionary above should have one NSArray *titles; array, and two other arrays each containing the galleries that came after the title. I have tried using a for loop but I just can't seem to get it right. And ideas would be appreciated.

I have written a simple template class for test purpose. Implement Negascout Algorithm with stack

I'm not familiar with how these stack exchange accounts work so if this is double posting I apologize. I asked the same thing on stackoverflow. I have added an AI routine to a game I am working on using the Negascout algorithm. It works great, but when I set a higher maximum depth it can take a few seconds to complete. The problem is it blocks the main thread, and the framework I am using does not have a way to deal with multi-threading properly across platforms. So I am trying to change this routine from recursively calling itself, to just managing a stack (vector) so that I can progress through the routine at a controlled pace and not lock up the application while the AI is thinking. I am getting hung up on the second recursive call in the loop. It relies on a returned value from the first call, so I don't know how to add these to a stack. How do I view the full content of a text or varchar(MAX) column in SQL Server 2008 Management Studio

In this live SQL Server 2008 (build 10.0.1600) database, there's an Events table, which contains a text column named Details. (Yes, I realize this should actually be a varchar(MAX) column, but whoever set this database up did not do it that way.) This column contains very large logs of exceptions and associated JSON data that I'm trying to access through SQL Server Management Studio, but whenever I copy the results from the grid to a text editor, it truncates it at 43679 characters. I've read on various locations on the Internet that you can set your Maximum Characters Retrieved for XML Data in Tools > Options > Query Results > SQL Server > Results To Grid to Unlimited, and then perform a query such as this: select Convert(xml, Details) from Events where EventID = 13920 (Note that the data is column is not XML at all. CONVERTing the column to XML is merely a workaround I found from Googling that someone else has used to get around the limit SSMS has from retrieving data from a text or varchar(MAX) column.) However, after setting the option above, running the query, and clicking on the link in the result, I still get the following error: Unable to show XML. The following error happened: Unexpected end of file has occurred. Line 5, position 220160. One solution is to increase the number of characters retrieved from the server for XML data. To change this setting, on the Tools menu, click Options. So, any idea on how to access this data? Would converting the column to varchar(MAX) fix my woes?

What Color is the Windows' System.Control? (Visual Studio Design View)

In Visual Studio Design View, the selection of Form Colors in the Properties Pane are selectable from the "Custom", "Web", and "System" tabs. Of course, the color number can be used, too. When the "System" Tab is selected, the colors in the list depend on what type of Theme the Computer User has set on the PC. I'd like to stick with this, but I need to know how to "read in" the colors. I have controls that I create "on-the-fly" or often need to change a color back after getting the person's attention using a blink/flicker technique. How do I get the list of System Theme colors? Most forms have a BackColor that defaults to "Control", which looks like a very light gray under Windows 7, running the default Windows 7 Theme. I've managed to grab a color by physically reading the ARGB value in code, but I'd rather have a way to access the colors by their Theme Name, if that can be done. public Form1() { Color cControl = this.BackColor; Console.WriteLine(cControl.Name); // there is not always a name! } Does anyone know what I'm talking about?

What is the process involved in viewing a webservice in a browser from within visual studio?

I have created a new VS2008 ASP.Net Web service project, with the default name WebService1. If I right click on the Service1.asmx file and select 'View in Browser' what are the processes that go on to make this happen? I am asking because I have a situation where when I run this from a visual studio project started in our development shell (which sets up a common build environment) I cannot get the web service to show up in the browser. It starts the asp.net development server and creates a single file: C:\WINDOWS\Microsoft.NET\Framework\v2.0.50727\Temporary ASP.NET Files\root\c43ddc22\268ae91b\hash\hash.web but when I start it from a stand alone project i get a whole slew of files in here: C:\WINDOWS\Microsoft.NET\Framework\v2.0.50727\Temporary ASP.NET Files\root\edad4eee\d198cf0e\App_Web_defaultwsdlhelpgenerator.aspx.cdcab7d2.vicgkf94.dll C:\WINDOWS\Microsoft.NET\Framework\v2.0.50727\Temporary ASP.NET Files\root\edad4eee\d198cf0e\service1.asmx.cdcab7d2.compiled etc etc I am trying to debug this but not really getting anywhere. i have inspected the output from VS but the only option I get is for the build output, which is basic and doesn't really contain any information that is useful. I have tried running both versions with DebugView running but no output there either. I would like to know if there are any log files I could look at, or if anyone has any suggestions on how I might be able to debug what is going wrong here? For completeness the output I get when it doesn't work is: Parser Error Description: An error occurred during the parsing of a resource required to service this request. Does XAML work with file links in Visual Studio?

I'm adding a new WPF project to an existing Visual Studio solution and would like to reuse a bunch of code (C# and xaml) from an existing project within the solution. I've created the new project and added existing files as follows: Right click project Add - Add Existing Item Find the file to reuse, use the arrow next to "Add" and "Add as Link" I now have a nice project set up with all the proper links. However, XAML chokes on these links. For example: <ResourceDictionary.MergedDictionaries> <ResourceDictionary Source="Resources\Elements\Buttons\Buttons.xaml" /> <ResourceDictionary Source="Resources\Elements\TextBox\TextBox.xaml" /> </ResourceDictionary.MergedDictionaries> The files "Buttons.xaml" and "TextBox.xaml" exist as links in my new project. The project builds, but when I run, I get the following XamlParseException: 'Resources\Elements\Buttons\Buttons.xaml' value cannot be assigned to property 'Source' of object 'System.Windows.ResourceDictionary'. Cannot locate resource 'resources/elements/buttons/buttons.xaml'. It seems like the XAML parser is requiring an actual copy of these XAML files to exist in my new project, instead of links. This is exactly what I'm trying to avoid. I want my project to share these files so that any changes get transferred to the other project without hunting and copying. Any insight is appreciated!

Configuration Error , Finding assembly after I swapped referenced dll out. Visual Studio 2003

Here is the situation. I had a clean build of my asp.net web application working. I then went into the bin folder under the web app and replaced two referenced dll's with two older version of the same dll's. (Same name etc.) After testing I replaced those dll's back to the new ones and now my application keeps throwing the configuration error === Pre-bind state information === LOG: DisplayName = xxxxx.xxxx.Personalization (Partial) LOG: Appbase = file:///c:/inetpub/wwwroot/appname LOG: Initial PrivatePath = bin Calling assembly : (Unknown). LOG: Policy not being applied to reference at this time (private, custom, partial, or location-based assembly bind). I found this issue on the web and tried all the solutions to it but nothing worked. I then went into all my projects that it references under the solution and cleared out the bin/debug folder in each, I cleared out the obj folder under each and also deleted the temporary files associated with the application. I rebuilt it and it still will not work due to this error Not sure what is causing this or how to fix this issue. I have tried restarting IIS, stopping index services which was said to be a known issue. This is .net framework 1.1 app and visual studio 2003 Any suggestions would be great. Thanks.
