    Hi, I have a query: declare @Code nvarchar(100) select @Code="BMW" select name from NewCars where code=@Code if @@rowcount = 0 Select name from OldCars where code=@Code In Sql managment studio first part give me 0 resuklts, and second 1 one result, and that is ok, but in sqldatareader I use the same query ofcource without: declare @Code nvarchar(100) select @Code="BMW" because I use: cmd.Parameters.AddWithValue("@Code", "BMW"); And using (SqlDataReader reader = cmd.ExecuteReader()) { if (reader.HasRows) { while (reader.Read()) { Name= reader["Name"].ToString(); } } else { throw new NotSupportedException("Lack of car with this Code"); } } gives me zero result

    i'm looking for a book that talks about sofware decision like : when should i use thread pool and shouldn't. and in the first case, explains how. how should i acess my DB , how big my transactions should be how to read XML, to use DOM or SAX, what library to choose, and best ways to parse how to handle client-server app best efficient way and more stuff like that. is a book like that exist ? (preferably in c++ but not that important)

  • Need to have either example.com/username or username.example.com, but how?

    Hey guys, I'm almost finished developing my large project, however I would love it if I could make it so instead of having the users profile pages at: http://example.com/profile/username/USERNAME (i'm currently using .htaccess to rewrite the GET data into forward slashes and profile(.php) being read as just 'profile' profile.php also parses the url correctly to retrieve the GET data) But it would be some much better if I could do it so that it's like http://www.example.com/USERNAME (preferred) or http://www.USERNAME.example.com Any ideas or resources?   • Multiple ClickOnce applications associated with the same file type

    I have multiple .Net applications that read the same file type, but when deployed with ClickOnce, the file association in Windows is made to "ClickOnce Application Deployment Support Library", which is what actually launches the program. But once the first .Net application is installed on the workstation, subsequent applications can't be selected in the "Open With" menu, and "ClickOnce Application Deployment Support Library" won't give the user a choice, either. How can I associate multiple ClickOnce-published applications to the same file type so the user can pick between them?

  • Is there any way to test server side code using JSTestDriver?

    I'm new to JS unit testing and I like what I've read about JSTestDriver. The idea of have the suite run every time you save is pretty cool. JSTestDriver runs Javascript in a browser sandbox and PHP runs on the server. If the browser slaves can serve from an arbitrary server is there any reason that you couldn't test it via AJAX? It this a misuse/misunderstanding of what the framework is for? Any clarifications are appreciated.

    SA1124 DoNotUseRegions suggest that region should not be used anywhere. Is it really reasonable? I think region is a way to group relative code together and make large class easy to read, for example, if you generate interface method in for class, a region will be automatically inserted by visual studio. I would like to remove this rule while checking code style. May I know your ideal on this rule?

In Java, I can use RESTlet for example, is there any possibility to use something like that for Qt, too?     I'd like to generate method-chaining setters (setters that return the object being set), like so: public MyObject setField (Object value) { this.field = value; return this; } This makes it easier to do one-liner instantiations, which I find easier to read: myMethod (new MyObject ().setField (someValue).setOtherField (someOtherValue)); Can Eclipse's templates be modified to do this? I've changed the content to include return this; but the signature is not changed.

  • Odd behavior in Django Form (readonly field/widget)

    I'm having a problem with a test app I'm writing to verify some Django functionality. The test app is a small "grade book" application that is currently using Alex Gaynor's readonly field functionality http://lazypython.blogspot.com/2008/12/building-read-only-field-in-django.html There are 2 problems which may be related. First, when I flop the comment on these 2 lines below: # myform = GradeForm(data=request.POST, instance=mygrade) myform = GradeROForm(data=request.POST, instance=mygrade) it works like I expect, except of course that the student field is changeable. When the comments are the shown way, the "studentId" field is displayed as a number (not the name, problem 1) and when I hit submit I get an error saying that studentId needs to be a Student instance. I'm at a loss as to how to fix this. I'm not wedded to Alex Gaynor's code. ANY code will work.     hi, I have a win form that creates a site in IIS7. One function needs to open the web.config file and make a few updates. (connection string, smtp, impersonation) However I do not have the virtual path, just the physical path. Is there any way I can still use WebConfigurationManager?     Hi, for a little project I have to do the following task on my IPhone: open a TCP socket send a command to the server shutdown the WRITE part of the connection read the response from the server close the connection I'm not experienced with socket programming - I've just started with network programming and I've already used the CFStream interface.
