  • How to assign a numbering scheme to TreeNodes based on position

    I have a TreeView control in a Windows Forms application that is displaying my own subclass of TreeNode. I need to display a number along with each node's text indicating its position in the tree, like 1 for the root, 1.1 for its first child, 1.2 for its second child, etc. I'm using C# with .NET 2.0 The best that I can come up with is, after the tree is built, go to each node, recursively find the parent and append the parent's sibling number to the front of the node's text until you reach the root.

  • How to set user environment variables in Windows Server 2008 R2 as a normal user?

    In older versions of Windows, it was just open the Control Panel, select the System applet, select the Advanced tab, and then hit the Environment variables button. As a normal user, you could edit the "User variables" but not the "System variables". In Windows Server 2008 R2, if I try to hit the Advanced System settings option in the System applet, it prompts for the Administrator password.

  • Problem using FormView to insert.

    I have a formview control, and on the ItemCreated event, I am "priming" some of the fields with default values. However, when I try to use the formview to insert, before the ItemInserting event gets called, for some reason it calls ItemCreated first. That results in the fields being over-written with the default values right before the insert happens. How do I get it to not call the ItemCreated event before the ItemInserting event?

But I have one issue now that if I tap on a textbox for selecting different values then the default mobile textbox popup window come up which I want to prevent. I tried Readonly="true" but that will simply disable the function and not able to select any values from that. So I want to prevent this input window when I click on a textbox.

    Hi all , i was building an application that use local connection and listens to another application that also uses local connection , the second application is sort of remote control for the first app. it invokes function of the listening app from outside. anyway , everything works good on local host.     Hi I'm trying to bind a control to the parent's Height/width property using ElementName and a Path. However, I don't want to bind to the actual height, but to exactly half the height.     i have a page consisting of devexpress gridview control with 4 columns and 4 asp.net text boxes. on selecting a row in gridview ,it should update the 4 textboxes with the values of the row selected. so i was assigning the value of the rows of the grid to the text box in the custom callback event of the grid and also the value gets assigned to the all textboxes's text property but it doesn't updates the textbox value in the UI screen.

    As I understand it, a group-box is just another control. Controls inside it are not owned by it, so unlike in Winforms, if you move a group-box the contained controls stay put. What would be the nicest way to address this? Just create your own data-structure mapping controls to 'container' group-boxes so that when the container is moved the children are automatically moved?
