• Empty Post with JQuery Ajax Post

  Hi, I am getting a some unusual problem with JQuery ajax. I am using IIS to host my web application and I have http handler for which I have enabled only POST verb on it. Using JQuery ajax, I am posting data to this http handler, this is working fine in our development and testing environment and also most of the time on production environment as well. But sometimes we are getting empty post data on to the server. When we look into the csBytes on IISLog we found that it was very less compare to other success post requests. We are using JSON.js to convert the javascript object back to raw json string and latest jquery.1-3.js for posting to server. Anbody know why this is happening?

My problem is I am adding elements to binded dynamicaly using JS, when I change the value in UI, the same value is not reflected in other places. The problem is querySelectorAll is faling to find elements with same attribute. It is finding only first occurrence. Please look into the issue.

• Error when using jquery webservice call to populate dropdownlist

  Hey there, just set up a simple project to test the functionality of the maven exec plugin. I have one class containing one "Hello World" main method. I've tested two configurations of the exec plugin. <goals> <goal>exec</goal> </goals> <configuration> <executable>java</executable> <arguments> <argument>-classpath</argument> <classpath/> <argument>test.exec.HelloWorldExec</argument> </arguments> </configuration> failed miserably, giving me a ClassNotFoundException, while <goals><goal>java</goal></goals> <configuration> <mainClass>test.exec.HelloWorldExec</mainClass> </configuration> worked. However I would like to be able to start my java main class in a separate process, so I'd like to understand whats different with exec:exec and how I can get it to work?   I'm using a simple jquery code that grabs html code form a tag and then puts this content into a form input <td class="name_cat" ><span class="name_cat">It&#039;s a &quot;test&quot; </span> (5)</td> jquery gets the content into span.name_catand returns it as It's a "test". So when I print this into an input it becomes <input value="It's a "test"" /> which as you can imagine will only show as It's a , the following double quote will close the value tag. What's the trick here to keep the original string while not showing utf8 code in the input? • Compare text with innerHTML IE7 problem

  I can't find a work around for the innerHTML bug in IE7. I need to look at the contents of dynamicly generated HTML and change it if the text is "-1". I'm using the prototype js gallery but couldn't find a fix. Any ideas? • Weird Rails database errors

  I've had some trouble getting my Rails app to connect to PostgreSQL so I decided to just say screw it and use SQLite for now. (I'm using the tutorial here: http://guides.rubyonrails.org/getting_started.html) I started a BRAND NEW, fresh Rails app from this tutorial. When I visit my app in the browser after deleting public/index.html, I get this the first time: Please install the pg adapter: `gem install activerecord-pg-adapter` (no such file to load -- active_record/connection_adapters/pg_adapter) That's odd to me because I'm not mentioning PostgreSQL anywhere. Here's my databases.yml: # SQLite version 3.x # gem install sqlite3-ruby (not necessary on OS X Leopard) development: adapter: sqlite3 database: db/development.sqlite3 pool: 5 timeout: 5000 # Warning: The database defined as "test" will be erased and # re-generated from your development database when you run "rake". # Do not set this db to the same as development or production. test: adapter: sqlite3 database: db/test.sqlite3 pool: 5 timeout: 5000 production: adapter: sqlite3 database: db/production.sqlite3 pool: 5 timeout: 5000 To make things more confusing, I only get that "pg adapter" error on the first load.   So, I previously wasn't really in the practice of writing unit tests - now I kind of am and I need to check if I'm on the right track.   I have an application in which I launch a window that displays byte data coming in from a 3rd party tool. • Where to start with the development of first database driven Web App (long question)?

  Hi all, I've decided to develop a database driven web app, but I'm not sure where to start. The end goal of the project is three-fold: 1) to learn new technologies and practices, 2) deliver an unsolicited demo to management that would show how information that the company stores as office documents spread across a cumbersome network folder structure can be consolidated and made easier to access and maintain and 3) show my co-workers how Test Drive Development and prototyping via class diagrams can be very useful and reduces future maintenance headaches. I think this ends up being a basic CMS to which I have generated a set of features, see below. 1) Create a database to store the site structure (organized as a tree with a 'project group'-project structure). 2) Pull the site structure from the database and display as a tree using basic front end technologies. 3) Add administrator privileges/tools for modifying the site structure. 4) Auto create required sub pages* when an admin adds a new project. 4.1) There will be several sub pages under each project and the content for each sub page is different. 5) add user privileges for assigning read and write privileges to sub pages. What I would like to do is use Test Driven Development and class diagramming as part of my process for developing this project. My problem; I'm not sure where to start. I have read on Unit Testing and UML, but never used them in practice. Also, having never worked with databases before, how to I incorporate these items into the models and test units? • Separating Spring and Dojo single page app codebases

  I'm working on a web application with a Spring Roo REST API backend and a Dojo single-page client app. Spring Roo provides a handy admin interface (with Web MVC) out of the box, so I'd like to keep that accessible for administrative duties. However I'd like the Dojo app to be decoupled from the server application as possible. The server is a platform for which we expect new client applications to be developed, so I'd like to develop the 'official' client web app in isolation. What is the best (or even just one good) way to structure the application code? It's easy to leave the server alone as an API and admin interface, but where does all the Dojo JS live? It works okay when it's in the Spring webapp directory, but gets complicated quickly as soon as the structure gets more complex or is moved anywhere else (Spring URL mappings are still awfully opaque to me). Ideally it could be hosted locally on a development machine, which introduces all the cross-domain JS issues as well.

• How do I repeat function over several row.

  I'll admit that I'm not an Excel guru so maybe someone here can help me. On my worksheet I have several blocks of data. I calculate the sum of all items within column D of that block. Within each block I am checking the value of the cell in column C and if it contains the letter "y" and the value in column D of that row is equal to zero I must exclude the total sum of column D. Currently I am doing this by multiplying the sum value by either 1 or 0 which is produced by running a test over the cell contents. Below is an example of what I am using to test rows 23 to row 25 inclusively for data in Column D. I am also performing the same on Column E and G, but the "y" character is always in column C, hence the absolut column reference. =IF(AND($C23="y",D23=0),0,1)*IF(AND($C24="y",D24=0),0,1)*IF(AND($C25="y",D25=0),0,1) There must be a more efficient way to do this. Ideally I would like to write a function that I can paste into a cell and then select the rows or cells over which I run the test. Can anyone point me in the right direction?

• what's a good technique for building and running many similar unit tests?

  I have a test setup where I have many very similar unit tests that I need to run. For example, there are about 40 stored procedures that need to be checked for existence in the target environment. However I'd like all the tests to be grouped by their business unit. So there'd be 40 instances of a very similar TestMethod in 40 separate classes. Kinda lame. One other thing: each group of tests need to be in their own solution. So Business Unit A will have a solution called Tests.BusinessUnitA. I'm thinking that I can set this all up by passing a configuration object (with the name of the stored proc to check, among other things) to a TestRunner class. The problem is that I'm losing the atomicity of my unit tests. I wouldn't be able to run just one of the tests, I'd have to run all the tests in the TestRunner class. This is what the code looks like at this time. Sure, it's nice and compact, but if Test 8 fails, I have no way of running just Test 8.   I am trying to delay PHP execution until a cookie is set through JavaScript. I reduced my code significantly to show a simple version that is answerable, I am well aware that I am able to use setcookie() in PHP, the requirements for the cookie are client-side. I understand mixing PHP and JavaScript is incorrect, but any help on how to make this work (is there a PHP delay? - I tried sleep(), didn't work and didn't think it would work, since the scripts would be delayed as well) would be greatly appreciated.

  Hi, I am basically from QA. What we testers do each day is 1. Open a web browser. Type in http://11.12.13.27.8080/cruisecontrol (since we are in a particular network, only we can access this) 2. Check if the latest nightly build has been successful. If it is successful, deploy it on a test environment by clicking on 'Deploy this build' link. This deploying takes around 1-1.5 hours. During this time we cannot use our machines to work on anything else. Only after this deploying can we begin to test. Now, i wanted to know if its possible to do the below. When at home in the morning, i use something which will trigger a script (which will be on my machine at workplace). This script will inturn automatically deploy the build. I already have such a similar script. What i want to know is how is it possible to trigger this script from my home machine? Is it even possible? For e.g the external trigger will say "Deploy xxx branch on yyy test environment". So the script on my workplace machine will be invoked and it will automatically deploy it before i actually come to my desk. Please help. I am from QA and have no idea about all this.

  I am trying to read in an input file 64 bits at a time, then do some calculations on those 64 bits, the problem is I need to convert the ascii text to hexadecimal characters. I have searched around but none of the answers posted seem to work for my situation.   I have been getting some weird errors when I upgrade jQuery from 1.4.4 to 1.5.1. Maybe you guys can explain what I need to change or why the new version is not working. • Error message: "$(window).width is not a function"

  Hi all, i am trying to use a jQuery scrollbar called "Jscrollhorizontalpane". when i am trying to use it i get the following error message: "$(window).width is not a function" in firebug's console. i am new to jQuery do this might be very basic but still, i dont know what that means and why there is a problem. the scroller comes in a bundle with a few files, one of which is called "jScrollHorizontalPane.js" and i believe it holds the code for the scroller. i tried replacing $ signs there with the word "jQuery" (in case there is a conflict) but it didnt seem to help. also important to add that on the same page i am using another jQuery scroller (a vertical one as opposed to the horizontal on mentioned above) which works just fine and when i examined it's .js file, i could spot lines with "$(window).width". any ideas?

  Hi, I'm facing an issue with c++ on vs2005 and also vs2008... here's how you can reproduce the issue.... create a new (c++) project called 'test' (file|new|project) select "Windows Forms Application" and add the 'stdio.h' include and the code fragment below into the test.cpp source file..... -------------------start of snippet-------------------- #include <stdio.h> ... int main(array<System::String ^> ^args) { int i; System::Threading::ThreadState state; char str[20]; sprintf (str, "%s", "test string"); ... -------------------end of snippet-------------------- If you compile the code as above (you'll have to 'buildall' first), you'll get two warnings about 'i' and 'state' being unreferenced (nothing about sprintf being deprecated). If you comment out "System::Threading :Thread state;", you'll get one warning about 'i' being unreferenced and another warning (C4996) for the 'deprecated' sprintf statement.... This issue also occurs for "System::Windows::Forms::MessageBoxIcon", "System::Base64FormattingOptions" (and perhap all 'enum class' types!) Anyone know of the cause and workaround to the issue demonstrated here ( i have other files that demonstate this issue..).
