• What's the cause of (and treatment for) this java MySQL exception?

The problem is I only want the inner div to scrollTo and the outer div to remain at the top of the screen.   I tried to build the ceplayit files (of directshow player samples). I added them to a smart device project based on the sdk for my device (named TEMP). I am using MFC in visual Studio 2005. Anyways, I have downloaded free fonts from GoSquared (link) which provides all fonts in single SVG file. So, is there any standard way or tool to convert this single SVG files into individual icon's svg/png file? (I have GIMP) By the way, It also gives .ai file, but I don't have Adobe Illustrator (in fact, I don;t have any Adobe Design too).. Cheers,

• Can I use Sikuli as an Jython library in my project?

  Sikuli is really cool, but it's working in its buildin Jython environment, the Sikuli IDE. So I m wondering is it possible to import Sikuli as an external library to my Jython library? I saw from Sikuli's website that they have this Python module which provides all Sikuli actions like click and type. Did find: /eclipse_3.4.2/workspace/Jython/src/tmplib/libVDictProxy.jnilib: no matching architecture in universal wrapper I m using Jython 2.2.1 and Mac 10.6.2 (32-bit mode). I have also set to use 32-bit mode first in Java Preference.

  I'm deploying an enterprise application on Weblogic 8.1 which has log4j 1.2.8 on it's classpath. I'm getting the following error with SLF4J 1.6.1: SLF4J versions 1.4.0 and later requires log4j 1.2.12 or later http://www.slf4j.org/codes.html#log4j_version Above link recommends using Log4jLoggerAdapter. • Bit manipulation, permutate bits

  Hi. I am trying to make a loop that loops through all different integers where exactly 10 of the last 40 bits are set high, the rest set low. The reason is that I have a map with 40 different values, and I want to sum all different ways ten of these values can be multiplied. (This is just out of curiosity, so it's really the "bitmanip"-loop that is of interest, not the sum as such.) If I were to do this with e.g. 2 out of 4 bits, it would be easy to set all manually, 0011 = 7, 0101 = 5, 1001 = 9, 0110 = 6, 1010 = 10, 1100 = 12, but with 10 out of 40 I can't seem to find a method to generate these effectively. I tried, starting with 1023 ( = 1111111111 in binary), finding a good way to manipulate this, but with no success. I've been trying to do this in C++, but it's really the general method(if any) that is of interest. I did some googling, but with little success, if anyone has a good link, that would of course be appreciated too. :)

What do I need to do to see this namespace? And do you have link for that MSDN example for compress folder, because I read all MSDN but I couldn't find anything. OK, but I need next information. Where should I copy ICSharpCode.SharpZipLib.dll to see that namespace in Visual Studio?

• How to Add a File from my source tree to Maven Site

  I have a Maven 2 RESTful application using Jersey/JAXB. I generate the JAXB beans from a schema file, where the schema file is in my resources directory, e.g., src/main/resources/foo.xsd. I want to include foo.xsd file in the generated Maven site for my project, so that clients can see the XML schema when writing RESTful calls. How can I include foo.xsd in the site? I could have a copy of the file in src/main/site/..., and then update my site.xml to point to it (or have a .apt whose contents point to it), but I don't like that because I'm still tweaking foo.xsd, and don't want to have to remember to copy it each time I update it. And that's just bad practice. I also tried having a .apt file that has a link to the foo.xsd which gets copied to the target/classes directory. That works until I do a site:deploy, because that only copies the target/site directory. Thanks, Charles

  I've just found myself in situation where I needed to handle exception I'll probably never get, so out of curiosity, let's do a small poll. Do you validate the presence of resources in your programs? I mean, those resources which are installed with your program, like icons, images and similar. Generally, if those are missing, either your install didn't do its job, or the user randomly deleted files in your app. If you do validate the presence, what do you do when the files are not there? Of course, for web apps, you'll have nice 404 page or broken link, but what about the rest? Fail early, yes, but leave handling failures to your compiler, or what?

  Hi, I’ve throughout the last couple of years downloaded a lot of templates for websites and these are now starting to become chaotic in the different folders so I’m starting to get a overview of the different templates. Regarding to this I was thinking about the way that WordPress displays the different themes installed in the themes folder. It provides a small overview (thumbnail) of the theme and a possibility to preview the theme. Of cause, I don’t need or want such a advanced system as Wordpress but I’m attractive to the idea of displaying my templates in the same kind of manner and without using a Database. I’ve played around with different directory management scripts and tools for PHP but the best result I’ve got so fare is just to display the different content in the different folders but not create a preview which in each preview it will use the webpage itself and it’s stylesheets, images, etc. Does anyone have an idea how to create such a script or have a link to a already existing script. Of cause is all the main pages named index.htm / .html Sincere Mestika

• Unable to use Client Application Services with custom MembershipProvider.

  Hi, I have a Windows-Forms Application that I configured to use with an ASP.NET Service that is an Authentication service using a custom MembershipProvider. When I call Membership.CreateUser in the Windows Application a NotSupportedException is thrown telling: "Specified method is not supported.". I tried creating a web page in the website and test the MembershipProvider, everything works just fine when woeking from within the website. Any ideas or link for how to use custom (not SqlMembershipProvider) MembershipProvider will be really appreciated! Edit: The method ValidateUser does work. The overriden CreateUser doesn't work I tried Override Sub CreateUser(.......) As MembershipUser Return New User() End Sub But I still get the same excetption as before.

  New to objective-c xcode and core-data so sorry for the remedial question. I have set up a very simple data model: Entity1 and Entity2, both contain a single attribute (String) and a one-to-many relationship with the other. I want to scan Entity1 and depending on the results of the scan create one or more Entity2 objects that link to Entity1. How can I do this? I don’t understand how I create Entity2 type objects in code and how I would define the relationship to the Entity1 object they are related to. I come from a SQL programming background where inserting elements into the Entity2 table with the ID of the related Entiry1 entry is easy. I can’t get my head around the xcode core-data abstraction and would appreciate any help.

  Hi, I have query regarding the disposing of an object. The scenario is as follows. In a Desktop Appication, developed in C#, I have a function in which a object in created like this. namespace Class 1 { variables section; .... .... Function1() { local variables; try { Object1 obj = new Object1(); .... .... if(true) { .... } else { **obj.Dispose();** } } catch() {} finally {} } } The object is not disposed when the else part is executed. The msdn link for this is http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/system.componentmodel.component.dispose(VS.90).aspx according to which the component should realase all the resources used by it.   I am using same network for 2 days and everything was normal. However, today even though it shows me as connected to the network, I do not have internet connection. If I use ethernet cable instead of wireless, I am still able to connect to the internet. Also my friends are able to connect to the wireless network and they can get internet connection. I did not update or install anything since yesterday. Therefore I do not have any idea why it is happening.   Hello, We are soon to get VS2010 and according to the link below, Microsoft do not support VS2010 on XP x64. http://www.microsoft.com/visualstudio/en-us/products/2010-editions/professional/system-requirements Does anyone have XP 64bit running VS2010? I am not interested in 64bit version of VS (I am wanting to install a 32bit version of VS2010 professional on a 64 bit XP machine). I am aware that XP will require SP3. Any warnings? Horror stories?   Hello, here is my dilemma. I have two worksheets one that has the name of clients and one that i want to copy the names to depending on the city. For instance: associated to each column is last name, first name and city. i have hundreds of names associated to different cities and what i would like is from worksheet1.xls to copy all the New York clients to worksheet2.xls either when i open worksheet2 or via macro what ever is easier and because last name is in one cell and the first name is in the other i would have to copy both. I saw that its possible to link cells from one worksheet to another and then do a vlookup depending on the criteria. Is that the best easiest way or is there another? thanks in advance and cheers oleg

• fastest (low latency) method for Inter Process Communication between Java and C/C++

  Hello, I have a Java app, connecting through TCP socket to a "server" developed in C/C++. both app & server are running on the same machine, a Solaris box (but we're considering migrating to Linux eventually). type of data exchanged is simple messages (login, login ACK, then client asks for something, server replies). each message is around 300 bytes long. Currently we're using Sockets, and all is OK, however I'm looking for a faster way to exchange data (lower latency), using IPC methods. I've been researching the net and came up with references to the following technologies: - shared memory - pipes - queues but I couldn't find proper analysis of their respective performances, neither how to implement them in both JAVA and C/C++ (so that they can talk to each other), except maybe pipes that I could imagine how to do. can anyone comment about performances & feasibility of each method in this context ? any pointer / link to useful implementation information ? thanks for your help

• What are some popular Git layout strategies?

  A fellow developer recently showed me a blog post with a nice visual representation of a git layout. He implied that this particular strategy was gaining a lot of popularity, but numerous searches here and through the Google have yet to turn up the blog post. The gist of it was that you had a trunk for main development, and a "side-trunk" for immediate customer-driven bug fixes. Main development had a branch, which was merged to trunk periodically for major releases, and then you had feature branches. There was a lovely diagram that clearly showed all this. Since I'd like to learn git better, I'd love to have that diagram available as an aide. It'd also be useful as a visual for trying to convince coworkers to switch to git. Does anyone happen to know what I'm talking about and can provide a link?

• Problem in creating different types of columns in a Winforms gridview

  My windows form application has a grid view control with filename as a default column. User should create a column of following types Text, Number, Currency, Combo Box, Check Box, Radio Button ,Date time type (should display DateTimePicker control) and Hyper Link type. After that i want to pass all rows to next screen for further processing. We can create a column of these types in a grid view but how can i store it in a data table so that i can pass it to next screen. Or should i create a column in a data table and then assign data table to grid view by gridview.DataSource = dt; but can we create a these types of columns in a data table.

• Drupal - Lightbox -> iframe node displaying entire website with views

  I am attempting to make a view that would list thumbnails of my projects, then when clicking them enlarge the photo using lightbox and list out some text and a link to the website. I am not sure if there is a way I can just add text to the lightbox using views so right now I have it using a field for Lightbox2 iframe: thumb200wh-node page. Open my entire website again in the lightbox instead of just the node: http://jeffkilroy.com/portfolio_boxes Is there a way to just display the node from the views module or is there a way to just use an image but modify the description so that I can put text in?
