• Reusing my PagedList object on WCF

  The problem: I have a custom collection PagedList<T> that is being returned from my WCF service as PagedListOfEntitySearchResultW_SH0Zpu5 when T is EntitySearchResult object. I want to reuse this PagedList<T> type between the application and the service. My scenario: I've created a PagedList<T> type that inherits from List<T>. This type is on a separated assembly that is referenced on both application and WCF service. I'm using the /reference option on the scvutil to enable the type reusing. I also don't want any arrays returned so I also use the /collection to map to the generic List type. • StackOverflowException throws often when .net application built with Debug mode

  I have an application which access an external webservice often, when i are trying to debug it, means debuging in vistual studio. it often throws out StackOverflowException at the webserverice call point. when building in Release mode , the exception thrown out only occasionally. • How to retrive message list from p2p

  Hello friends I have a messaging system that uses p2p. Each peer has a incoming message list and a outgoing message list. What I need to do is whenever a new peer will join the mesh he will get the all the incoming messages from other peers and add those into it's own incoming message list. Now I know when I get the other peer info from I can ask them to give their own list to me. But I'm not finding the way how..? Any suggestion on this or help would be highly appreciated.   I wrote a .asmx web service which I'm trying to consume from a java client. I'm using axis2's wsdl2java to generate code. But it says that the wsdl is invalid. What exactly is the problem here? It is .net which generated the wsdl automatically after all. Are there problems with wsdl standards, rather the lack of them? What can I do now? • Good bug tracking with Sharepoint?

  At my place of work, it has been decided to move many processes to Sharepoint. I'm now looking into how Sharepoint can be used for bug tracking (à la Mantis, FogBugz etc. but within Sharepoint). Specifically, we're using a collaboration room and the solution must work inside that. I know that I can create lists using an "Issue tracker" template, but it lacks workflow, integrated correspondence (like FogBugz), and audit log (any user can edit any field any time, without it being noted anywhere). That's not sufficient, so I am looking for "bigger" solutions but haven't yet found anything at all. This question is similar but aims at Helpdesk use; we aim at bug tracking and change requests to a system. I'm open to suggestions! As I'm not an administrator, I can't just grab a Sharepoint component and install it for testing. I'm looking for experiences, documentation, white papers, screen shots -- the actual downloadable will be relevant later. Ideally, some of these matters should be covered: Support for different ticket types (bug, feature, inquiry, internal task). Configurable workflow per ticket type, no fixed number of steps. Configurable read/write permissions per field and per workflow status. Configurable dashboard for managers with nice charts. Configurable email notifications. Correspondence à la FogBugz. (Challenge: we use Notes, not Exchange.)

  Howdy, I have several erros in the system event log of my single Windows 2003 SP2 domain controller. Multiple member computers on the domain are listed in these errors. I am seeing two similar errors for each computer one second apart in the event log. Event ID 7 Source KDC The Security Account Manager failed a KDC request in an unexpected way. The error is in the data field. The account name was [email protected] and lookup type 0x8. followed by Event ID 7 Source KDC The Security Account Manager failed a KDC request in an unexpected way. The error is in the data field. The account name was MEMBERNAME$ and lookup type 0x8. The Lookup Types are also different, I have 0x8, 0x28, 0x0, 0x20. I am also receiving other authentication errors in the same time frame as all of the KDC errors Event ID 5722 Source NETLOGON The session setup from the computer MEMBERNAME failed to authenticate. The name(s) of the account(s) referenced in the security database is MEMBERNAME$. The following error occurred: Access is denied. I have run dcdiag /v to see if there was something wrong with Active Directory, but all tests passed. I also ran netdiag /v and it appers all of those tests ran.   Hi, I have an (old) SMC-001 IPMI device on an (old) X6DVL-EG2 motherboard. My problem is that I cannot access the BMC from LAN. I'm also getting some interesting output from ipmitool. First, the setup. I enable Console Redirection in the BIOS, turn BIOS Redirection after POSt to "disabled". I then modprobe'ed for ipmi_msghandler, ipmi_devintf and ipmi_si. I then found ipmi0 under /dev. So far so good.   Hi have some questions for Zimbra v8.0.6GA. Under Configure - MTA - Network, I'm seeing a few settings and am not very clear what to do with them. Web mail MTA Host name Is this for delivering local mail only (ie not for external mails)? According to this link, it says the following. That's a mouthful but what is "composed messages"? Is this for a multi server deployment where the Postfix server for Zimbra isn't installed on the same box that as the rest of the servers? Webmail MTA is used by the Zimbra server for composed messages and must be the location of the Postfix server in the Zimbra MTA. Relay MTA for external delivery My understanding after reading the doc is that if my ISP doesn't force me to relay outgoing mails through them, and I have enabled DNS lookup, I can leave this blank? Inbound SMTP host name Sorry I know this is explained as "If your MX records point to a spam-relay or any other external non-Zimbra server, enter the name of that server in the Inbound SMTP host name field." but I'm not following. Can someone provide an example? MTA Trusted Networks The admin doc says "To set up MTA trusted networks on a per server basis, make sure that MTA trusted networks have been set up as global settings and then go the Configure Servers MTA page and in the MTA Trusted Networks field enter the trusted network addresses for the server." However I see out of the box it has default networks setup for the server whereas on a global level it's blank. Does this mean there is a bug with the install software and I have to copy the setting from the server to the global setting?

  Can I somehow add an editable "From" field to Mail.app, a bit like Virtual Identity for Thunderbird, just like I could change the "Reply To" address on the fly? In Mail.app, one can set up multiple email addresses for a single account by just entering a comma-seperated list like [email protected], [email protected]. Next, when composing a message, Mail offers a dropdown to select a "From" address. And when replying†, it automatically selects the right address if it can find a match: Nice, but I'd like to be able to change the "From" on the fly, without going into the Account Information. Also, in previous versions of Mail one could even specify multiple Full Names for a single account: Email Address: Arjan <[email protected]>, Arjan on SU <[email protected]> But nowadays, Mail only uses the setting of Full Name, and even ignores names in the Email Address field when no value for Full Name is set at all. Hence, it would be great if I could change the Full Name on the fly as well. I had no luck finding a plugin for Mail yet. † When using sub-addressing, anything that is sent to [email protected] is simply delivered to [email protected]. I'd then like to reply with the same full address, rather than just [email protected] if Mail cannot find a match, without going into the Account Information first.   I'm running Vmware ESX 4.1 and I have a development VM that I recently upgraded from Ubuntu 10.04 to 11.04. Then I tried to re-install VMware Tools and some of the modules gave me an error and would not compile. As a result I'm having problems with backing up this virtual machine now and I suspect VMware tools is the reason. I installed latest patches for VMware host, that included an update to VMware Tools (v8.3.7 build-381511) but I'm still getting the same error.   In the People tile in Windows 8, you can connect to your different accounts, e.g. LinkedIn, Facebook, Google contacts. I have a lot of contact information in Google Contacts that I have carefully curated. I also have Facebook and LinkedIn contacts. I have already connected Facebook and LinkedIn contacts to the People app, and it seems to work ok. If I connect my Google Contacts to the People app too, what exactly will happen to the Google contacts? Will my Google contacts be modified in any way by the People app? Merged? Synced? (I understand that they will look merged in the People app, but I am wondering what will happen to the actual Google contacts, which I often use outside the People app) For instance: If a contact is in Facebook but is missing from Google Contacts, will it be created in Google contacts? If there is a picture for a person in both Facebook and Google Contacts, will the Google Contacts picture be overwritten? If I add a field, such as "Comments" to a contact in the People app, will that comment be written to the comment field for that contact in Google Contacts?

  Is there ever a legitimate reason for the SMTP “MAIL FROM:” field to not match the “From:” field in the DATA section of a message, besides mailing lists? Including the “From:” address in an email via SMTP is not a courtesy; it is required if the recipient is to be able to send a reply. • How to edit a read-only document in LibreOffice?

  I need to fill a form (which I received in .doc format and saved as .odt). The file is read-only except for the fields where I can enter the information. Unfortunately, with the fields filled it doesn't fit on one page, and I need to edit it so I can print and submit it. With LibreOffice beta 3, I could edit anything outside of the fields, and the fonts were slightly smaller, so it fit on the page even with the fields filled. Today I upgraded LibreOffice, and when I opened to edit a field where I had a mistake, it no longer fits on the page, and I can't edit it. When I opened the properties it says that the document is NOT read-only, but it is. When I try to delete text it tells me that I can't edit the read-only content. Can anyone give me some advice, because I've been trying to print my form for 2 hours already. I tried AbiWord and KWord, but both are missing elements from the page (though the forms fit). I can also edit the margins (Format - Page is dimmed, but when I begin to edit a field it's no longer dimmed)med

• SQL 2008 Replication corrupt data problem

  We took a SQL 2000 database. Took a lightspeed backup. Restored on SQL 2008 active/passive cluster. Then setup replication to replicate the data back to SQL 2000. So 2008 is the publisher/distributor, and 2000 is doing a pull subscription. Everything works well, execpt we occassionally get corrupt data in varchar/text fields on the subscriber. So for example we have a table with 4500 records. When we run this statement: update MedstaffProvider set Notes = 'Cell Phone: 360.123.4567 Answering Service: 360.123.9876' where LastName = 'smith' The record in the 2008 database is updated as expected. But in the subsriber datbase we'll get gibberish in the notes field: óPÌ[1] T $Oé[1] ð²ñ. K Here's what we know: This is repeatable, meaning we can run that same query all day long and get the same gibberish. If you alter update statement slightly the data gets replicated just fine. The collation on both databases is the same. So far we've only detected the problem with text/varchar fields. (The notes field above is text). Only one or two records in a table are impacted. The table structure looks identical in both 2000/2008. We haven't made any changes. We have found one solution that fixes the problem. Basically if we recreate the table in 2008 (say as MedStaffProvider2) and then insert all the data. Drop the original table. Rename the table to it's original name. Setup replication again. And run the exact same update statement it works as expected. Does anyone have any idea what might be happening here? Or are there any other techniques we can use to troubleshoot this? I've found a solution for this, but would really like to undertsand why this is happening.

• Split Tunnel VPN using incorrect Tunnel

  Our company has a handful of field offices that have recently been setup with a regular internet connection after we removed the T1 and router that connected them directly to our network. Now, when the users are in the office, they log in to the VPN to be able to connect to the network. For the sake of them being able to print and scan from the local multi-function we have setup a split tunnel VPN. We currently have about 15-20 users using this setup around the country without any problems. Recently one of our users started having problems accessing internal programs/sites when connecting from both home and the office. There are three other users in the same office and they do not have this problem. I assumed that it was something with the computer and went ahead and replaced it with another of the same model. The computer worked fine in our home office; however, when the user received it, she had the exact same problem both at home and in the field office. Thinking it may be a NIC driver issue I sent her another computer, this time a different model, same problem occurred. If I update the host file to point to the correct paths, things will work, and if I connect via a normal VPN connection everything works, but the user cannot scan or print - which is a problem. Have tried to find ways to create another tunnel on a normal VPN and have tried to find ways to force the correct tunnel on the split tunnel VPN. It appears that there is something related to the ISP because if I connect to Comcast or Verizon it is fine but once she connects to Insite then she has problems. I have been unable to get any support from Insite as they don't feel the issue is with them. We use a Nortel VPN client. Any thoughts or ideas would be appreciated.

• SORT empties my file?

  I'm attempting to sort a csv on my machine, but I seem to be erasing the contents each time I use the sort command. I've basically created a copy of my csv lacking the first row: sed '1d' original.csv > newcopy.csv To confirm that my new copy exists lacking the first row I can check with head: head 1 newcopy.csv Sure enough, it finds my file and shows me the original second now (now first row). My csv consists of numerous values seperated by commas: Jonathan Sampson,,,,[email protected],,,GA,United States,, Jane Doe,Mrs,,,[email protected],,,FL,United States,32501, As indicated above, some fields are empty. I want to sort based upon the email address field, which is either 4, or 5 - depending on whether the sort command uses a zero-based index. So I'm trying the following: sort -t, +4 -5 newcopy.csv > newcopy.csv So I'm using -t, to indicate that my fields are terminated by the comma, rather than a space. I'm not sure if +4 -5 actually sorts on the email field or not - I could use some help here. And then newcopy.csv > newcopy.csv to overwrite the original file with new sort results. After I do this, if I try to read in the first line: head 1 newcopy.csv I get the following error: head: cannot open `1' for reading: No such file or directory == newcopy.csv <== Sure enough, if I check my directory the file is now empty, and 0 bytes.

• Pivot tables: How can I total the subtotal?

  Person A needs £115, Person D £234 and Person G £789, but how do I SUM that and get it to show on the same ROW as the subtotal? The Rows are subscription names. The Value field holds the Cost per subscription. the Columns holds the name of the person who receives the subscription. I have GROUPED on YEAR & MONTH, and have a subtotal that shows me how much each person will need to pay each month for all their subscriptions, but I need a figure showing me the total of all the subscriptions per month. I've tried adding calculated fields, but I want to SUM the subtotals so I'm struggling to see the field I need to use. I've tried Grand Totals but that SUMS all rows and I really only want SUM the Subtotal Total Row. I need a nice neat report that my managers won't go white at when looking at it...to many numbers = fear and confusion. Anyway it got messy, so I've come for help. Cheers Mike.

• Access 2007: How can I make this EXPRESSION less complex?

  Access is telling me that my new expression is to complex. It used to work when we had 10 service levels, but now we have 19! Great! My expression is checking the COST of our services in the [PriceCharged] field and then assigning the appropriate HOURS [Servicelevel] when I perform a calculation to work out how much REVENUE each colleague has made when working for a client.   I have three FreeBSD 8.1 running on three different hardware and therefore consist of different network adapter as well (bce, bge and igb). I found that the network connection is kind of unstable which I have tried to scp some 10MB file and found that I cannot always get the files completed successfully. I have further checked with my network admin and he claim that the problem is being caused by the network driver which cannot support the load whereby he tried to ping using huge packet size (around 15k) and my server will drop packet consistently at a regular interval. I found that this statement may not be valid since the three server is using three different network drive and it would be quite impossible that the same problem is being caused by three different network adapter and thus different network driver.
