  • SQL Server - Missing Indexes - What would use the index?

    I am using SQL Server 2008 and we are using the DMV's to find missing indexes. However, before I create the new index I am trying to figure out what proc/query is wanting that index. I want the most information I can get so I can make informed decision on my indexes. Sometimes the indexes SQL Server wants does not make sense to me. Does anyone know how I can figure out what wants it?

    I'd like the user to specify a RSS feed address and serialize the information from it. I am not interested in the XML format, but populate a strongly typed object from the XML. My question is, is there a standard that all RSS feeds support (Do all of them have date, title etc)? If so, is there a XSD that describes this. If not, how do I handle serializing a RSS feed to an object in ASP.NET?

    I'm looking or a way to programmatically determine which version of the .NET Framework an application pool is using in IIS, at runtime, and for a website application to then use that information to choose which *.config file it should use.     We are using bcrypt for passwords and data that never needs to be decrypted. What should do to protect other user information that does. For this example lets say that we didn't want a users real name to be in plain text in case someone was to obtain the db. This is somewhat sensitive data but also needs to be called from time to time and displayed in plain text. Is there a simple way to do this?

    I have a initApp.as which instantiates a class which needs to access the "currentState" property and the States array as well. However we cannot get this to work as we cannot see how we can access this information. Within initApp.as currentState is accessed via "this.currentState". This does not work in the class which is instatiated within initApp.as. The following error is thrown: "Access of undefined property currentState." Anyone know how this can be solved?

  • An IE7 toolbar button, with 2 different *.rc files

    I have a IE 7 button toolbar project on Visual C++. My question is, can my button have 2 *.rc files. Means, by default it will use the 1st *.rc file, and when certain condition achieve inside my *.cpp, the button will be using the 2nd *.rc file. Is this allowed in visual studio or IE7? edit: Both rc files has different information for icon image.
