  • How is "Make Object ID" implemented in the .NET debugger?

    Hi, I would like know how this feature is implemented in VS - I understand it holds some sort of weak-reference to the object in the debugged-application's memory, but how exactly is it accomplished? I know simply tracking the address (as in native code) wouldn't work, because the GC might move the object about, invalidating the address. Thanks.

How can I have it stream the file to the server?

    I need to display some very large images on the iPad. The files are jpgs and are about 6700x2700 (maps). Is there any way around loading the entire image into memory? Currently I load it int a scroll view for zooming/panning. The images are stored locally on the device.

    I'm trying to make a class where I put a key and value into the put method which puts the key in the k string array and value into the v string array, however it is not being saved in the array when I do get or display. For example: put(dan,30) get(dan) returns null display returns null null 10 times.     What is a good way to represent a collection of bits? I have a set of various on/off toggles (thousands of them) and need to store and retrieve their state. The naïve implementation would be an array of booleans, but I'm wondering if there's a better way (better in terms of access speed and/or memory requirements). I've found this BitArray implementation, but it's limited to 32 bits, which is not enough for this case.

    Ok here is my question in javascript you can declare a variable and be undefined you can apply variable == undefined, I know that but how you can compare a value that you dont know yet if it's in the cpu memory.   • IIS7 Itegrated Pipeline Mode: Context.User is intermittently null for Windows Auth

    Our code relies on checking the Context.User.Identity value in the Global.asax Application_AuthenticateRequest(...) method to retrieve some information about the logged in user. This works fine in classic mode but when I flip IIS to use the Integrated Pipeline "Context.User" comes back as null, but only intermittently. Any ideas why? I have < authentication mode="Windows" and only Windows Auth enabled in the Virtual Directory.

    Hi, I have a raw YUYV422 buffer with 8-bit 4:2:2 Component Y’CbCr format (Y0, Cb, Y1, Cr order). I know that ffmpeg's PIX_FMT_YUYV422 only handle 16-bit buffers.So I am getting Bad memory error when scaling that buffer into YUV420P. Can any one give me a clue, how can I use this buffer with ffmpeg to covert into YUV420. Thanks, Raghu

I have multiple instances of this Console application running at once, and all of them are doing the same static data initialization , is there a way that I can have a single data source and share the data among processes so that each process does not have to consume large amount of memory?

    Hey all, I'm working on building my own string class with very basic functionality. I am having difficulty understand what is going on with the basic class that I have define, and believe there is some sort of error dealing with the scope occurring. When I try to view the objects I created, all the fields are described as (obviously bad pointer). Also, if I make the data fields public or build an accessor method, the program crashes. For some reason the pointer for the object is 0xccccccccc which points to no where. How can a I fix this?
