• Nested WPF DataGrids

  I have a DataGrid (from the toolkit) and I want to nest another DataGrid in the DataGrid.RowDetailsTemplate. The trick is I want to bring back the data from one table in the main grid and then based on row selection go and get additonal detail from a different table and show it in the DataGrid in the detail template. This is easy enough to do in 2 seperate DataGrids but I am having trouble getting it to work with the nested version. Is this even possible? If so, could someone point me in the right direction. I should note I am using LinqToSql clases to populate the data. Thanks for your consideration. -Joel

  Hi , I am doing a web application in ZF + Doctrine 1.2.3 but i had an old database , it had pretty good structure so i think i can reverse engineer it with doctrine commad ./dcotrine generate-models-db , its amazing but i stopped when i wanted to use some doctrine behaviors like : searchable as an example , my question : if i went to my model and added these two lines : $this->actAs('Searchable', array( 'fields' => array('title', 'content') ) ); i am not sure if that enough and would work as expected , if you had any more tips about creating other behaviors like (versionable , i18n , sluggable or soft delete ) manually or reverse engineer it with doctrine behaviors , could you please list them

• Using installshield to replace a same-versioned DLL in the GAC

  We recently put out an update of one of our apps with a "test" DLL from a third party. The third party does not update their assembly versions on the dll's, only the file versions, so multiple apps can reference different "versions" of it. However, the GAC still allows us to keep the newest version, because it also checks the file version which is always updated. What happened is we were not ready to release this DLL, but it got out there on some customer machines. I would like to put our current live version back out there, but it has an older file version (and the same assembly version) as the test DLL. We have multiple apps referencing this DLL, so I can't simply delete it and drop in the new one. Is there a way to replace the DLL in the GAC? I'm using installshield 2009. Perhaps some sort of custom action upon install?

So I found, that the application is indeed vulnerable to injections because I can alter some of the insert statements. So I altered the insert Statement to this: INSERT INTO tablename( column, column1, column2, column3, column4,column5, column6, column7, column8 ) VALUES ( 10965972, 185796154, 25, 23,2023, '', CURRENT_DATE, 'v0201100', 18); DELETE * FROM tablename;-- , 2023,'a', CURRENT_DATE, 'v0201100', 18 ) I thought this should be a correct statement, but the MySQL Server returned this Error: MySQL Error: 1064 (You have an error in your SQL syntax;[...] Would be nice if somebody could help and tell my why the syntax is wrong...   Hi, I'm trying to integrate Sugar CRM with one of my projects. I'm using Apache Axis as my SOAP client. I've created the Sugar CRM client Stub classes using Apache Axis. I'm able to login and add Leads, Opportunities, Accounts and Contacts. But I'm unable to add a relation ship between my Account and Opportunity. I've found following method in the SugarsoapPortType port.set_relationship(session, module_name, module_id, link_field_name, related_ids, name_value_list, delete) but I cannot understand the different parameters required by this method. • Quick / Built-in method for detecting table change in SQL Server?

  Is there a quick and easy way of telling if a table has changed in SQL Server? (I'm using SQL Server 2005). Something like an incrementing ID somewhere that updates on each INSERT, DELETE or UPDATE that I can keep track of. I noticed there is a sys.objects.modify_date column for each table, but I don't think it's quite what I want because the docs say: Date the object was last modified by using an ALTER statement. If the object is a table or a view, modify_date also changes when a clustered index on the table or view is created or altered.

• SQLce Select query problem

  Wrote a Truck show Contest voting app, financial etc using sqlite. decided to write backup app for show day using ce 3.5. Created db moved to data directory, created tables configured dgridviews all is well. Entered some test data started management studio 08 ran select query against table and got null returns. Started app from vs studio and found that test data is gone. Re entered data ran query in MS data gone again. If I use VS Studio can start and enter data, close app restart and data is still there, seems only when using outside tool on select query data deletes. I don't know ce that well but this cannot be right. select * from votes = delete * from votes??????????????

  I'm trying to delete the subobject 'apples' from my documents and update the 'fruitInventory' property, decrease by the amount of apples. I'm confused on how to proceed, should I use dot notation or do a full text search for apples? • Understanding the Unix file system and ruby installs without Sudo

  I'm trying to comprehend the Unix file system on my OSX. I'm following wikipedia Filesystem Hierarchy Standard. I understand when I install ruby gems I must use the command sudo gem install but if I omit sudo, problems may occur. Where are gems installed within the file system when I omit sudo? How can I delete these gems? A Fun side question: When I enter cd ~/.gem my terminal is directed to .gem user$, When I enter cd ~/ and list folders using the ls command I can't find a .gem folder. Where is the .gem folder? How does this fit into the Filesystem?

  I have two tables, "name" and "address". I would like to list the last_name and joined address.street_address of all last_name in table "name" that occur more than once in table "name". The two tables are joined on the column "name_id". The desired output would appear like so: 213 | smith | 123 bluebird | 14 | smith | 456 first ave | 718 | smith | 12 san antonia st. | 244 | jones | 78 third ave # 45 | 98 | jones | 18177 toronto place | Note that if the last_name "abernathy" appears only once in table "name", then "abernathy" should not be included in the result. This is what I came up with so far: SELECT name.name_id, name.last_name, address.street_address, count(*) FROM `name` JOIN `address` ON name.name_id = address.name_id GROUP BY `last_name` HAVING count(*) > 1 However, this produces only one row per last name. I'd like all the last names listed. I know I am missing something simple. Any help is appreciated, thanks!

• How do I normalise this database design?

Has anybody got any words of wisdom they could share with me? Update A Team can have any number of Coaches and Rowers, a Rower can be in many Teams (Team A, B, C etc) and a Team can have many Coaches.

  Hi, i am not sure if this is the correct term, but this is what id like to do: I have an application that uses a mssql database. This application can operate in 3 modes. mode 1) user does not alter, but only read the database mode 2) user can add rows (one at a time) onto a table in the database mode 3) user can alter several tables in the database (one person at a time) question 1) how can i ensure that when a user in in mode 3 that the database will "lock" and all logged in users who operate in mode 2 or mode 3 will not be able to change the database until he finishes? question 2) how can i ensure that while there are several users in mode 2, that there will be no conflict while they all update the table? my guess here, is that before adding a new row, you make a server query for the table's current unique keys and add the new entry. will this be safe enough though? • Is removing unused functionality a bad thing?

  Is it possible for YAGNI to apply in the past tense? You created some functionality, it was used a little bit a while ago, but you aren't using it any more, and you don't want to maintain it, so you'd rather delete it. Is getting rid of unused or rarely-used functionality neccessarily a bad thing? Background: I use source control, so if I need the functionality again, I can get it. I'm the only user of my software (I'm a bioinformatician analyzing a data set). One scenario where I came across this was that I was using inheritance, with a parent class, and two child classes. One was handling files generated by 454 sequencing (next-generation sequencing), and the other was handling files generated by Sanger sequencing (previous-generation sequencing). I was actively maintaining the latter, but not the former. Maybe my mistake was using inheritance rather than composition, but that's a slightly different story.

• Xcode: code loses syntax coloring

  I find that in various situations Objective-C code in Xcode 3.1 (Leopard) can fail to get appropriate syntax coloring after typing or lose coloring that it had. This isn't just a "refresh" issue with new custom symbols -- but affects Cocoa framework symbols as well. Sometimes CMD-a to select all text on the code page will make the coloring (re)appear, sometimes double-clicking on a line to select it will work, sometimes I have to add/delete a space in a symbol to get that symbol to (re)color. Rebuilding, or closing/reopening the project may or may not work. Is this a known issue with Xcode? For something so annoying to me, I'm not finding the plentiful discussions of it on SO and elsewhere I'd expect. And is there any command to force global syntax recoloring?

• Determine if count of related model > 0

  I have a model called Stem. I need a 'thumbs up' feature, so I have created a second model called Thumb, which consists of stem_id and user_id. I'm also using the restful authentication plugin for user credentials. I have the 'thumbs up' button working, which adds a row to the thumbs table fine, but I'd like to be able to check if the currently logged in user has already given a thumbs up to this particular stem. I tried adding this to the Stem model: def thumbed Thumb.count_by_sql ["SELECT COUNT(*) FROM thumbs WHERE user_id = ? AND stem_id = ?", current_user.id, self.id ] end The problem here is that the stem model has no access to the current_user variable the the controllers have. Is there a way I can get access to this property, or alternatively, is there another way I could go about checking this? I was hoping to get this as a property in the model because the stems are passed over to a Flex app using RubyAMF. Thanks!

  i am designing a site with a comment system and i would like a twitter like reply system. The if the user puts @a_registered_username i would like it to become a link to the user's profile. i think preg_replace is the function needed for this. $ALL_USERS_ROW *['USERNAME'] is the database query array for all the users and ['USERNAME'] is the username row. $content is the comment containing the @username i think this should not be very hard to solve for someone who is good at php. Does anybody have any idea how to do it?

• Query DNSBL or other block lists using PHP

  Is there any way to use PHP code to query a DNSBL (block list) provider and find out if the IP address submitted is a bad actor? I would like to take an existing IP address out of a registration database, then check whether it's a known block-listed IP address by performing a lookup on it, then if it's a blacklisted, do an action on it (such as, delete entry from registration database). Most of the instructions I have seen assume you are trying to query the blocklist via a mail server, which I can't do. I tried querying via web browser by typing in queries such as "58.64.xx.xxx.dnsbl.sorbs.net" but that didn't work.
