• Is there a better way of designing zend_forms rather than using decorators?

  Hi, I am currently using zend_decorators to add styles to my form. I was wondering if there is an alternative way of doing it? It is a bit difficult to write decorators. I would love the casual one using divs and css style : <input type="submit" class="colorfulButton" > It is much simpler rather than set a decorator for a certain control and add it. Since it requires creating a decorator for each style implementation and adding it up with the control. Will view helpers to the trick?

• Can I use XText for a DSL involving an XML file type?

  I have defined a small DSL that is mostly written in the form of different types of XML files in conjuction with some property files. This works very well but I wish to create an Eclipse Editor to make editing these files easier for beginners (I already have a working parser). The main XML file can reference some items from the .properties files and vice-versa. THe main xml file can also reference other XML files. Certain options should only be available in the main xml file based on the contents of the .properties files and based on some osgi plugins that can be added to the DSL project (the syntax is dynamic depending on context). The structure of the language is fixed but the options available in each attribute or the choice of attributes themselves changes depending on metadata contained in plugin .jar files. Questions: Does XText support dynamic syntax (validation changes depending on external factors)? Does XText support XML files / .properties files? Thank you very much for your help in advance.

• Visual Studio 2008 freezing when editing aspx/master pages

  Visual Studio freezes up continually when I'm editing master pages or aspx files. Here's what I've tried that have not helped: restarting VS only working with few files open at a time Disabled all addins (resharper etc.) deleted .suo and .user files changed default editor from Web Form Editor and Master Page Editor to HTML Editor installed SP1 I don't have tons of files - 3 Master pages and maybe 30 aspx files. It is a asp.net mvc project. All I have to do to get VS to freeze is type a little text or even just paste. The freezing lasts a good 5-10 seconds. My machine has 4GB of RAM and fast disks. Could it have anything to do with asp.net mvc? Would the amount and size of other projects in the solution affect the editor?

  I'm trying to setup a User - UserProfile relationship, display the form and save the data. When submitted, the data is saved, except the password field doesn't get hashed. Additionally, how can I remove the help_text from the username and password (inherited from the User model)? Full code is below, excuse me if it's too long. • How to hide the vertical scroll bar in a .NET ListView Control in Details mode

  I've got a ListView control in Details mode with a single column. It's on a form that is meant to only be used with the keyboard, mostly with the up/down arrows for scrolling and enter to select. So I don't really need to have the scroll bars and would just like them to not show for a cleaner look. However, when I set the ListView.Scrollable property to false, I can still move the selected item up and down, but as soon as it moves to an item not currently in view, the list won't move to show that item. I've tried using EnsureVisible to programmatically scroll the list, but it does nothing when in this mode. Is there any way to manually move the list up and down to scroll, but without having the scrollbar present?

  I have this string that shall come in from another file. The string has maximum length of 102 digits. I need to compare the string with numbers in a pair and delete those form that string. e.g - 6125223659587412563265... till 102 numbers that compare with this string- first set - 61 new string = 25223659587412563265 second set - 36 new string = 252259587412563265 and so on. the set of numbers shall go to maximum of 51 pairs = 102, which shall give an end result of string = "" How can i achieve this in a loop?

I suspect this might be due to zend updates.. Does anyone face this problem?

• Storing index values in FAST-ESP without modifications

  Hi, first of all I'm totally new to FAST but I already have a couple of issues I need to solve, so I'm sorry if my questions are very basic =) Well, the problem is that I have a field in the FAST index which in the source document is something like "ABC 12345" (please note the intentional whitespaces) but when stored in the index is in the form "ABC 123456" (please note that now there is a single space). If I retrieve all the document values then this specific value is OK (with all the whitespaces), my only problem is with the way the value is stored in the index since I need to retrieve and display it to my user just like it appears in the original document, and I don't want to go to the full document just for this value, I want the value that I already have in the index. I think I need to update one of the FAST XML configuration files but I don't have enough documentation at hand in order to decide where to perform the change, index_profile.xml? in the XMLMapper file?

• Spring validator default message codes not resolving

  Hi all, I have a custom spring validator which has the following default message: public @interface FieldMatch { String message() default "au.com.xxx.website.FieldMatchValidation"; ... The problem I'm having is that the message code is not being resolved and <form:error...> is simply displaying the code rather than the message (Which is in a properties file which is being used by a ResourceBundleMessageSource). I've also tried this as String message() default "{au.com.xxx.website.FieldMatchValidation}"; Which causes the message source to crash with an exception indicating that it thinks that the "{}" brackets should contain a number because it thinks it's a parameter place holder. I think that the issue is that the message code is not being seen as a message code and therefore not resolved, but I cannot figure out why. Any suggestions?

• Uploading image file from website on yahoo server causes 410 gone error message when trying to acces

  I have a form that lets users upload a photo of themselves. This seems to work. The photo does exist on the server once uploaded. When I try to access the file I get a "403 forbidden - you don't have permission to access this url on this sever" and also I get "Additionally, a 410 Gone error was encountered while trying to use an ErrorDocument to handle the request."   I'm using this jquery autocomplete plug-in with rails: http://docs.jquery.com/Plugins/Autocomplete I can't figure out how to format my results, both in my Rails controller and in my javascript file. I have something like this in my controller... @query = params[:q].downcase @json = User.all(:login => /^#{@query}/) respond_to do |format| format.js { render :json => @json.to_json(:only => "login"), :layout => false } end And then this in my script.js file... $("#form").autocomplete('/url', { width: 320, dataType: 'json', highlight: false, scroll: true, scrollHeight: 300 }) But I can't figure out how to parse the data, so my autocomplete just gets a raw array of all my results at once. How do I process the JSON in the script.js file and/or in my controller for it to work?

So how do I go about doing something like that?

I could repeat the requisite conversions a dozen times by putting them in each of the callers, but it seems much more efficient to do it once in the called method. public String myMethod(String myArg) { return DoSomething(myArg); } public Int32 myMethod(String myArg) { return Convert.ToInt32(DoSomething(myArg)); } private String DoSomething(key) { return SomeList[key]; } If I have multiple methods that pull data from SomeList and have to utilize different data types then in each I have to do a type conversion. Examples might be session variables or query or form requests or any other number of things.   As a non-techie, I would really appreciate your help on this. I have some files (html) that need to be in pure ascii form to be properly processed. Since these files are produced by humans, every so often non-ascii characters sneak in. Often it is a stray " (curled variety) or something similar that is difficult to find and need to be removed. I have found text editors (eg. textmate) that can strip out all non-ascii characters, but I need to find one that can highlight where they are, rather than remove them (as I need to remove them from the source and not the html file). I hope this makes sense and appreciate any assistance you can provide. Thanks!

• How do I specify the com+ server when registering a vb6 com+ application without using clireg?

  I've found lots of documentation on how to install com+ components with WiX or an exported msi from dcomcnfg but the problem with these approaches is I can't see where to specify the com+ server. Currently we register the components with clireg and the -s switch which allows us to specify the com+ server like so: clireg32.exe BLEH.VBR -s COMSERVER -t BLEH.TLB -d This is messy to say the least and I've been trying to get this into some automated form of installation that doesn't involve calling a batch file full of clireg32 calls. Currently WiX is the backbone of our packaging automation so a solution with WiX would be awesome. Thanks.

  Hey, I have a form for administrators where they insert a user name ("domain\name") and the code gets and sets some information out of it. It's a huge project and some of the lists contain the username as a string ("domain\name"), but some lists only count on the "Created By" column, which is auto-created. I want to know what's the fastest way to query these lists using the username string. I tried to use the same query as the one I use for the first kind of lists and it obviously didn't work - <Where><Eq><FieldRef Name='UserName'/><Value Type='Text'>domain\\username</Value></Eq></Where> Thank you.

  I have a WPF control1 (has a moving control) that is hosted through elementhost on a windows form. My aim is to capture the mouse move events for the elementhost. I found out from the following link that MouseMove fires when Control moves under mouse while mouse stands still. http://social.msdn.microsoft.com/Forums/en/wpf/thread/56e7b331-ac6f-4d62-a83b-c09009b79fa0 I am getting fake mouse move events for elementhost. In order to fix this issue, I added a button on top of elementhost and set its Visible property to Hidden. Still I get fake mouse move events.. How to fix this issue? Is there any workaround? • JsonResult shows up a file download in browser

  I'm trying to use jquery.Ajax to post data to an ASP.NET MVC2 action method that returns a JsonResult. Everything works great except when the response gets back to the browser it is treated as a file download instead of being passed into the success handler.   I have an XForm that has certain fields that may often be left blank (optional street address). Is there is technique to set a default value for that field, preferably a space (I am running into weird formatting issues with CSS). The html form way of value="" doesn't work, neither does setting a default value in the XML schema. • Where to get MSDN Help Viewer for 2010 like earlier MSDN with Index, Tree and one window?

  I upgraded to Visual Studio 2010 RC, and I remember filling one big form for MSDN help improvement campaign and I was wondering I will get to see a Help Viewer like MSDN included in Visual Studio 2008, which included One Program (Not IE), Index and the way to view preferred language setting. Google results shows that there were headlines that Microsoft Help Viewer released for 2010 RC, but where is it? is it the same one which opens in IE and has absolute difficult way to view it? Current MSDN opening in IE is so inconvenient, there is no index, there is no grouping of content, like I typed search for TextBox and it showed up for ASP.NET, WinForms and I got lost to find out the reference in multiple pages for search results.
