    hi im not sure if this is the right place to ask but, i just build a new desktop for gaming. i3 530 2.93 GHz P7H55-M/USB3 Corsair Vengeance 4GB 1600MHz iGame Gtx 460 Win 7 32bit Huntkey X7 900W Everytime i start the computer it would run normally until the windows loading and will just stuck and hit the blue screen.i tried everypossible way to repair,restore the windows but nutin seems to be working. I'm not sure if its compatibility problem or Bios or even Ram,since the beep is a normal beep and will only blue screen when loading the windows. if anyone can help me id appriciate it. thx

    Our config is currently: 1 Windows 2000 domain controller running ISA2000, dhcp, dns 1 Windows 2003 domain controller as main file server, prob cert server as well, dhcp, dns 1 Windows 2008/Exchange2010 domain controller as Exchange server, DHCP,DNS Currently getting FRS errors on files server journalwrap error Currently getting FRS errors on othe DC's can't replicate from above Exchange DC holds Schema, rid,pdc, and infastructure roles File Server holds Domain namaing operation master role WOW, I didn't set this up, just inherited it. Am I right to assume that fixing the FRS errors is #1, what do I need to do for that? set enable journalwrap auto restore in registry? Demote W2000 domain controller, should that have any implications for ISA? We have Forefront to be deployed but that's another day Transfer Domain Nameing Role to Exchange server (I know or think having an Exchange server as DC isn't best practive) We will be getting another server W2008 to replace current file server and I thought it could takeover all roles once deployed Demote W2k3 file server and then raise functional domain level to 2008 Am I missing anything other that the sense to walk away?   • KB2667402 update fails to install with 0x80004005. Yet it's also showing as installed

    I've got 15 Windows 2008 R2 x64 servers that I manage with SCCM2012. I've noticed during my Windows updates reporting that there's two boxes that are showing as 'error' for total updates installed. Digging around, it looks like the update that is failing to install is KB2667402. The Software Centre on the server itself shows the following: The software change returned error code 0x80004005(-2147467259). So SCCM thinks it hasn't installed the update. However, if I go to the Programs and Features application and select 'Windows Updates', I can see an entry for KB2667402: If I try and uninstall this, I get an error: An error occurred. Not all of the updates were successfully uninstalled If I try and download the patch from Microsoft directly, I get the same error installing as displayed in Software Centre. The only odd thing about this setup that I can think would affect this is that I run the RDP service on a non-standard port. However, I do this across all the servers, so it seems odd that it would fail on just 2 out of 15.   • Do certain usb ports work better on my IBM T60?

    Hi. I am using a Microsoft wireless phone ear piece and I have had the receiver plugged into the USB port on the Left Hand side. I have been getting intermittent success with the signal. I have recently tried plugging it in to one of the ports on the top Right Hand side, and it seems that I am getting a better signal. Is there a difference between the ports? Thanks.

    If I have a text file in Unix that contains N-many independent entries (e.g. records about employees, where each employee has a separate record), is it expected that this file will take up less space than if I split the file into N files, each containing the entry for one employee? in other words, can one save significant space on unix file systems by concatenating many files together, or is the difference negligible? thanks.

  • Is there any way to search within OneNote 2007 attachments

    I'm starting to use OneNote (2007) more. One thing I'd like to do is take notes on papers I have read. That is, I attach, say, a PDF file, and then type in some notes about it. Sometimes I do other stuff like copy some key text or figures from the paper, so OneNote is great for this because all that plus my own notes plus the file itself can all be in one place. However, the OneNote search doesn't seem to be able to search within said PDF files. Windows search finds things, but just in the OneNote cache, not the actual Onenote .one files. (Presumably that will only work for recently accessed stuff, and in any case doesn't take me to my actual notes.) Is there a way to do what I want? If not, does anyone have a suggestion (or link) as to how to best use OneNote to store (and later search for!) this kind of content and notes?

    I am using Chrome 28.0.1500.20 beta on OSX 10.7. In this version, when you perform a google search using the address bar the bookmarks bar disappears. Toggling "always show bookmarks bar" does not restore the bookmark (see screenshot below). I want to always show the bookmark bar. In particular, I often use a bookmarklet that converts a current google search into a Google Scholar search. Is there a way to always show the bookmark bar even when performing a Google search in Chrome?

    I have a BIND DNS server running on my Windows 7 development machine and I'm serving pages with WAMPSERVER. My ideia is to develop some tools (in PHP) for my intranet at work and I want them to be accessible via LAN in this format: http://tools.mycompany.com I've already placed BIND and I can access http://tools.mycompany.com on the machine that holds BIND server, but I cannot access it from other LAN computers. I've done the following on my router: defined static IP's for all LAN computers set Port Forwarding to my server (remember: it serves DNS and Web pages) set DNS server configuration to point to my LAN server On LAN computers, I went to Local Area Network properties and also changed the DNS server IP in order to point to my local DNS server.   • My iPhone is stuck at screen with USB cable and iTunes logo

    I just tried updating the iPhone's firmware, and things went haywire. iTunes informed the update had failed and linked me to this page. The iPhone is stuck on the image from the top of that page. I held down the sleep and home buttons until it turned off and turned it back on, and then went through the iPhone's 'restore' mode. It then error'd again and I'm stuck back with the logos on the iPhone. Does anyone know how to fix this? Thanks

    Hi Guys, I'm looking for a simple virtual appliance that I can deploy to my ESX environment to use as a virtual NAT router / firewall to create an isolated network that I can easily give internet access too. Basic setup: ESX Host, has 2 vswitches configured: 1 is connected to the physical LAN, the other is isolated. I need an appliance that I can add 2 vNICs to, and attach one to the isolated vSwitch, the other to the LAN, to give the isolated network outbound access (so it can reach the internet). Anyone have an appliance that I can setup quickly to do so? Thanks.

  • Allow X Client Display through TCP on Lucid

    On Karmic, to allow other PCs to open and X-Window on a station, one had to edit /etc/gdm.conf and change DisallowTCP to false. That file no longer exists on Lucid. I tried changing an entry in /etc/gdm/gdm.schemas (XML format) but that did not make a difference. Any ideas on where to go for this?

  • SQL Server 2008 - Error starting service - model.mdf not found?!

    my SQL server 2008 was running fine. About an hour ago, it suddenly stopped - the MSSQLSERVER service had stopped I right clicked, clicked start, and it said the service had started, and stopped I looked in the event log and saw these two errors: 17207 : udopen: Operating system error 3(error not found) during the creation/opening of physical device C:\Program Files\Microsoft SQL Server\MSSQL\data\model.mdf. 17204 : FCB::Open failed: Could not open device C:\Program Files\Microsoft SQL Server\MSSQL\data\model.mdf for virtual device number (VDN) 1. The model.mdf db has NEVER been in that location - i specified drive F: to use for data / log during install. I checked the SQL Configuration Manager, to try and set startup params, but SQL Server is not listed as one of the services..... EDIT: I've now moved the db to where it was looking for: C:\Program Files\Microsoft SQL Server\MSSQL\data\ directory. Now if I start the service, it still does not work - i get this error message in the log: Could not find row in sysindexes for database ID 3, object ID 1, index ID 1. Run DBCC CHECKTABLE on sysindexes. Interestingly, i checked the error log - around the time users reported problems, there is this: 2010-01-08 17:11:26.44 spid51 Configuration option 'show advanced options' changed from 0 to 1.   • Mysql replication, Slow resyncing of slave after an error

    I have a slave that got an error about a months or so ago and got way behind the master. I fixed the error and now playing catchup with the master but its going very slowly. Its going at 1.3x real time. I was using less that 10% of the db resources when these writes were first happening so the speed of the server shouldn't be an issue. Is there any settings I can switch to help the slave catch up with the master?

  • I have two 'WsusContent' folders. One has about 55gb of files in it. How do I clear it out?

    I ran the WSUS cleanup wizard in the WSUS MMC snap-in but this made no difference. I think the files are associated with System Center Essentials because they are in a folder called "data\SCE2007\WsusContent" I've looked for a similar cleanup wizard in System Center Essentials but can't find one. Is there a way to clear these files out that doesn't cause issues for SCE or anything else? FYI I've got both SCE and standalone WSUS settings already set to minimize the amount of updates downloaded from Microsoft to only those that are needed.

  • Windows 2008 VPS always crashes when out of disk space

    Hello, I am renting a Windows server 2008 dc SP2 VPS for hosting my Asp.Net projects. Now for the second time this month my VPS ran out of disk space. The first time it was a log file that got to big and yesterday it was my mistake for uploading a website without noticing the lack of space on my VPS. Now the side effect this has is that my VPS corrupts some files when trying to write them. Last time it was Plesk that stopped working yesterday it was IIS. So I was wondering is this normal behavior? I called my service provider to ask if they could restore a back-up and to ask if this is normal and they ensured me it was. I am not trying to blame them and I know it's mostly my fault for not monitoring my VPS better or for not setting better defaults.

  • Differences between how OS X Snow Leopard and Lion interface with a proxy?

    We have a proxy at school, which requires a login/password, and blocks a certain number of sites that aren't "school related" (facebook, youtube, etc.) While I'm able to get through to most things, people who've upgraded to Lion can't get through to anything, even though I've replicated my proxy/network settings on their machines. Is it possible that the difference in OS versions is causing this? I have Snow Leopard, they have Lion.

  • How do I stop track changes from turning on automatically in Word 2007

    Whenever I open an existing document in Word 2007 (on Windows XP), word turns on track changes, and changes the display mode to "Final" (that is, not "Final Showing Markup" -- so I often don't even notice track changes is on if I don't remember to pay attention. This happens for ALL existing documents, and doesn't happen for new documents. I can't find any option in the configuration that would control this behavior. I would like to restore the original/default behavior where documents are opening with Track Changes off, and in "Final showing markup" display. Steps to Reproduce Open Word 2007. Create a new document. Verify that track changes is off. Save the document and close Word. Open the document (either directly or through Word). Track changes is now on. Any ideas?

  • Burn Image context menu item missing in Windows 7

    My understanding is that in Windows 7 if I right click an ISO image I should have an option Burn Image, or if I double click an ISO I should get a dialog to let me burn the image.... Not happening for me, any idea's why? Edit: 29th April. I do have isoburn.exe in my system32 directory, and it works just fine if I launch it manually from cmd. However I simply do not have the context menu when I right click on a iso file. So my more specific question is, does anyone know how to simply restore this context menu item, an entry in the registry perhaps? (but where and what)

  • uninstall mysql on linux with plesk

    I'm having trouble uninstalling linux on my centOS 4 that has plesk. I'm actually trying to upgrade my Mysql 4.1 version to Mysql 5.0 using the following command: yum update mysql I get an error list of conflicted files however. When I try to remove mysql 4.1 and perform a clean install but when I use yum remove mysql* It deletes all of its dependencies and appearantly some of these are files needed by plesk, which causes my plesk to stop working. A did a full restore and everything is okay now, but how can I remove mysql without ruining plesk? I have also tried: rpm -qa | grep mysql to get a list of all files and remove them one by one, but there's a duplicate in that list, so I can't delete those (because it says it doesn't know which one to take). Any help would be greatly appreciated!
