  What does 'this' keyword refer to when used in gloabl object? Let's say for instance we have: var SomeGlobalObject = { rendered: true, show: function() { /* I should use 'SomeGlobalObject.rendered' below, otherwise it won't work when called from event scope. But it works when called from timer scope!! How can this be? */ if(this.rendered) alert("hello"); } } Now if we call in an inline script in the HTML page: SomeGlobalObject.show(); window.setTimeout("Msg.show()", 1000); everything work ok. But if we do something like AppendEvent(window, 'load', Msg.show); we get an error because this.rendered is undefined when called from the event scope. Do you know why this happens? Could you explain then if there is another smarter way to do this without having to rewrite every time "SomeGlobalObject.someProperty" into the the SomeGlobalObject code? Thanks! • Postback event not firing on FIRST button click..

  Hi, I have a form which accepts two arguments. The first one is mode - this is either view, new or edit. If it is new then the second argument is type - this is either range, collection or design. When set to new, and the type is valid, a new instance of that type is created and the data from the form is added to it. The item (range, collection or design) then validates the data. If any of the data is invalid then it throws an error, and this error is displayed at the top of the form telling the user why it is invalid. A variable, _Databind, is set to false so that it does not change the data input by the user (in the form fields). The button used to submit the button is called btnSave, and is created in the html source. The click event is wired up in the form Protected Sub Blah(sender, e) Handles btnSave.Click. Strangely, whenever I edit an item that already exists the form submits fine the first time - the click event is fired. However when in "new" mode I have to click the button twice to fire the event. It also blanks all the form fields out on first click. I have even put a Response.Write("Hello World") line at the start of the click event - this is not being output on first click when adding a new item either. It is on first load when the mode is set to edit however. Does anyone have any ideas as to what is causing it to behave this way? Thanks in advance for any help. Regards, Richard

  I am looking to migrate my selenium RC tests to using PHPUnit 3.4.12 from PHPUnit 3.3.2 The selenium test will fail with an exception of the following when I use assertTextPresent() PHPUnit_Framework_Exception: Response from Selenium RC server for getLocation(). ERROR Server Exception: sessionId should not be null; has this session been started yet?. As you can see, the test should have completed as indicated by the "Killing Firefox" bit, but it instead continued to do something else and triggered the getLocation[, ] command which caused the exception. I have tried the same test with PHPUnit 3.3.2 which did not produce this problem - the test would happily end without the getLocation(). Any ideas? thanks

  Hi I'm using a xslt based dataview webpart the steps i have taken to create a data view webpart is that 1. added a list view webpart on the page 2. Modified the toolbar property to show fulll toolbar 3. open the web page containing above list view webpart in sharepoint desginer and converted it to xslt based webpart (to make further changes in UI) 4. saved the page and previewed in browser in browser web part was throwing the error while i was able to see it properly in desginer witout any error the error maesseged shown in webpart was: ** Unable to display this Web Part. So MSDN is telling me not to use that enumeration (LabelChildOption), which is afaik the only way to create a label and add it to a file. Is there a better way? Is this sort of a "grey" area in the TFS API?

You can assume the input is well formed and does not have to be error checked. Update: Please post your solution in the form of a function. Most people have done this already, but some haven't, which isn't entirely fair. The board is supplied to your function as the parameter. The result should be returned by the function. The function can have a name of your choosing.

• Help with pregreplace and uniqid for jquery dialog boxes

  First of all, do not be overwhelmed by the long code, I just put it for reference...I have a function that runs preg_replace on each comment users post and puts matches in a jquery dialog box with a matching open-link. For example, if there is a paragraph with two matches, they will be put inside two divs, and a jquery dialog function will be echoed twice; one for each div. While this works for one match, if there are multiple matches, it does not. I am not sure how to distribute unique ids at a point in time for each of the divs and matching dialog open-scripts. Keep in mind, I removed the preg replace function since it kind of complicates the problem. I suppose I am not putting the accordion and head class at the right place, but as of now the names look like default links. • Android: Determine when an app is being finalized vs destroyed for screen orientation change

  Hi all, I am relatively new to the Android world and am having some difficultly understanding how the whole screen orientation cycle works. I understand that when the orientation changes from portrait to landscape or vice versa the activity is destroyed and then re-created. Thus all the code in the onCreate function will run again. So here's my situation: I have an app that I am working on where it logs into a website, retrieves data, and displays it to the user. While this is all done in background threads, the code that starts these threads is in the onCreate function. Now, the problem lies in that whenever the user changes the screen orientation, the app will log in, retrieve the data, and display it to the user again. What I would like to do is set a boolean that tells the app if it is logged in or not so it knows whether or not it must log in when the onCreate function is called. So long as the app is in memory the HttpClient will exist and contain the cookies from logging the user in but when the app is killed by the system those will go away. So I would assume that I need to do something like setting the logged in boolean to false when the app is killed but since onDestroy is called when the screen is rotated how is this possible? I also looked into the finalize function and isFinishing() but those seem to not be working. Shorter version: How can I distinguish between when an app is being killed from memory from when an activity is being rotated and different code for each event? Any help or a point in the right direction is greatly appreciated. Thank you!

It is only throwing on the build machine and not on my development box, so i'm going through a process of trial and error to see any differences between the two. • Best practices for class-mapping with SoapClient

  Using SoapClient's class mapping feature and it's pretty sweet. Unfortunately the SOAP service we're using has a bunch of read-only properties on some of the objects and will throw faults if the properties are passed back as anything but null. Need to filter out the properties before they're used in the SOAP call and am looking for advice on the best way to do it. So far the options are: Stick to a convention where I use getter and setter functions to manipulate the properties, and use property overloading to filter method access since only SoapClient would be doing that. E.g. developers would access properties like this: $obj->getAccountNumber() SoapClient would access properties like this: $obj->accountNumber I don't like this because the properties are still exposed and things could go wrong if developers don't stick to convention. Have a wrapper for SoapClient that sets a public property the mapped objects can check to see if the property is being accessed by SoapClient. I already have a wrapper that assigns a reference to itself to all the mapped objects. class SoapClientWrapper { public function __soapCall($method, $args) { $this->setSoapMode(true); $this->_soapClient->__soapCall($method, $args); $this->setSoapMode(false); } } class Invoice { function __get($val) { if($this->_soapClient->getSoapMode()) { return null; } else { return $this->$val; } } } This works but it doesn't feel right and seems a bit clunky. Do the mapping manually, and don't use SoapClient's mapping features. I'd just have a function on all the mapped objects that returns the safe-to-send properties. Also, nobody would have access to properties they shouldn't since I could enforce getters and setters. A lot more work, though.

  Rolling comments inside a log4net file Is it possible to roll the data inside the log file? So I have an xml config file like <log4net> <appender name="LogFileAppender" type="log4net.Appender.RollingFileAppender"> <layout type="log4net.Layout.PatternLayout"> <ConversionPattern value="%d{yyyy-MM-dd hh:mm:ss} – %-5p: %m%n" /> </layout> <param name="File" value="c:\log.txt" /> <param name="AppendToFile" value="true" /> <rollingStyle value="Size" /> <maxSizeRollBackups value="1" /> <maximumFileSize value="5MB" /> <staticLogFileName value="false" /> </appender> <root> <level value="DEBUG" /> <appender-ref ref="LogFileAppender" /> </root> </log4net> What I want is to have a 5MB file that when it gets to the end will pull off the first line of the file and then add a new line at the end. Is that possible (I do not see it in the documentation)?

• Memory leak with NSData

  I'm having a leak with this code without being able to find where it's coming from. This function get called within an autorelease pool. I release the IplImage* image argument. When I run the ObjAlloc tool, it tells me that "NSData* data" is leaking. If I try to manually release the UIImage returned by this function, I get an EXC_BAD_ACCESS error, probably because this UIImage is autoreleased. I'm a bit confused, any hint would be appreciated.   I have been trying to get a bit more familiar with the Graph API for facebook. Its very convenient although the documentation is poor at some places. Im having trouble uploading an image to an album. Anyone know how to do it ?
