  • C# ...extract email address from inside 100's of text files

    My SMTP server got 100's of errors when sending lots of emails. Now have lots of .BAD files each one containing an error message and somewhere in the middle, the actual email address it was supposed to be sent to. What is the easiest way to extract from each file "just" the "email address", so that I can have a list of the actual failed emails? I can code in C# and any suggestion will be truly welcomed.     Did you use teamviewer? (comic question i know... Who doesn't use it?) Do you have any idea how does teamviewer make connection even if i am behind the router, firewall, switch and my local firewall..? I'm trying to imagine a connection that is between remote machinge and my computer. Remote machine is sending the packets (and its header (for instance, destination IP, message body)) to me but it only knows my id number(which is given by my local teamviewer application). And this packets are reaching to my computer even if there is a juniper firewall (and also my windows firewall). What kind a message body is recieving by computer? (of course it is not like xml, text, html, excel :) Do you have any idea? PS. Please share your knowledge like you are explaining to beginner level user.

    Scenario: I have a text file that has pipe (as in the "|" character) delimited data. Each field of data in the pipe delimited fields can be of variable length, so counting characters won't work (or using some sort of substring function... if that even exists in VIM). Is it possible, using VIM / Vi to delete all data from the second pipe to the end of the line for the entire file? There are approx 150,000 lines, so doing this manually would only be appealing to a masochist... e.g. Change the following lines from: 1111|random sized text 12345|more random data la la la|1111|abcde 2222|random sized text abcdefghijk|la la la la|2222|defgh 3333|random sized text|more random data|33333|ijklmnop to: 1111|random sized text 12345 2222|random sized text abcdefghijk 3333|random sized text I'm sure this can be done somehow... I hope. TIA UPDATE: I should have mentioned that I'm running this on Windows XP, so I don't have access to some of the mentioned *nix commands (CUT is not recognized on Windows).

I add a new tag with this date to the db at the timestamp and I run delta import command. the select retrieves the line but i dont see any other sql.   • Google maps and J-Query: Individual markers?

    Hi there, I have created a Google maps mashup, where with a bit of input, I have managed to have a sidebar that links to a video icon/marker that then opens up an info window showing virtual tours. I would, however, like to put different coloured marker icons on the map depending on the category that the video is in. This would be easy enough to do, but my page is made up of a mixture of J-Query and JavaScript all calling to the individual flash files. Could someone help me with the code for adding extra marker icons for different categories?   • Which MS technologies would be suited for a data intensive application?

    I'm a junior VB.net developer with little application design knowledge. I've been reading a lot of material online regarding different design patterns, frameworks, and methodologies. It's become a bit confusing for me. Right now I'm trying to decide on what language would be best suited to convert an existing VB6 application (with SQL server backend.) I need to update the UI and add more user functionality and reporting capabilities. Initially I was thinking of using WPF and attempting the MVVM model for this big project. Reports would be generated from SSRS. A peer suggested using ASP.net and I don't have enough experience to determine what would be better. The senior programmers here are stuck on using VB6 and don't have any input on what to use. They are encouraging me to use the latest technologies. This application would be for ~20 users in a central location. Ideally I would stick to a Microsoft .net language. Current interface is similar to a datagrid table where the user would click in to see the detail of each record. They would need to have multiple records open at any given time. Internal clients within an intranet How complex are the interactions you expect to implement? not very... displaying data from SQL server to UI. Allow user updates to said data.     Hello, I was going through the source of google guice, and found an unfamiliar piece of code. It would be great learning if someone can clarify it. I have very basic understanding of inner classes, as they keep the implementation details close to the public interface. Otherwise the inner class may pollute the namespace. Now, I see the below lines at public static final Scope SINGLETON = new Scope() { public <T> Provider<T> scope(final Key<T> key, final Provider<T> creator) { return new Provider<T>() { ......... } It assign an inner class instance to the static variable, but Scope is an interface defined as (at) public interface Scope Is it possible to instantiate the interface?? or is it a succinct syntax for an anonymous implementation of an interface?? If anyone can explain what the author is intended by multiple nested classes above (Scope and Provider), and why it make sense to implement this way, it would help me to understand. thanks.
