  • API to toggle "Show hidden files, folders and drives"

    - by dbkk
Is there a function in Windows API to toggle the "Show hidden files, folders and drives" option in Windows Explorer (Tools Folder Options... View tab). I know of a related registry key, but changing that would not have immediate effect. The key is: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE/SOFTWARE/Microsoft/Windows/CurrentVersion/Explorer/Advanced/Folder/Hidden/SHOWALL Trying to do this from C#, but the question is not language-specific.

  • Software tools for allowing end users to reprogram interfaces

    - by iceman
What would be the examples of commercial software products (specially web-services) which allow the end user to reprogram their user-interface? I mean end users who do not know programming and they are allowed to add more functionality. One way of doing it is allowing XML gadgets like iGoogle does. What are the other approaches and also the technologies enabling them? This would be a futuristic application like collaborative software development for users.

  • Problem with Google App Engine Appstats

    - by Taylor L
    I'm having an issue getting Appstats to work correctly. Using /appstats or /appstats/stats ends up in an infinite loop that keeps redirecting back to /appstats/stats. This results in a 404 error saying the page isn't redirecting properly. Any idea what the issue is? Here are the relevant lines in my appengine-web.xml. I've tried using both /appstats/stats and /appstats and they both have the same issue. <admin-console> <page name="Appstats" url="/appstats/stats" /> </admin-console> Below are the http headers showing the infinite redirect loop: http://mysite.appspot.com/appstats/stats GET /appstats/stats HTTP/1.1 Host: mysite.appspot.com User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 6.0; en-US; rv: 1.9.2.3) Gecko/20100401 Firefox/3.6.3 (.NET CLR 3.5.30729) Accept: text/html,application/xhtml+xml,application/xml;q=0.9,*/ *;q=0.8 Accept-Language: en-us,en;q=0.5 Accept-Encoding: gzip,deflate Accept-Charset: ISO-8859-1,utf-8;q=0.7,*;q=0.7 Keep-Alive: 115 Connection: keep-alive Cookie: USER_LOCALE=en_US; JSESSIONID=POTIUPPpEmjHZoaNDWOSTA; ACSID=AJKiYcHiwT8jH7e01V9O5iFu3kpBhDd3k3oBwwxylv5u0DbJ- utvdpsgdb4Xim2WXwobkJmgTGGljvuh94_yVQ__- VPnBsTtUAhRjSyZ2Lv3G7oUHAxTsCWHJIMChGT3- XUyUNx8wxwvJisL_RTXH8Hc4TTLh_rVHm2k8gk8kgdbVZXexSV0K- a3coELTecWIBolt0qLd5L-5vALm382KsqbHorPXqoZMPTvR_06g_mR1cbmF2Ihnk6YhP7no58BNpESM9HvFyKNKXODo39hF4oaZCcW0Q9TBqUMgsrBqlcIh3- VvC7qvH0n_nAtrLTBbK_swnOFvCDcaf3whT9ty0CJ0VRNuNqIPOLHIeQAMgwXUNMr89P64EsgmuyONHR67glCQXEPOGXIaT1vcBJFwFoeNUqjdp824fHvoVhaL7Xlav- LTIFuM3f_ymHLmibk57PRuXUYEaAG HTTP/1.1 302 Found Location: http://mysite.appspot.com/appstats/stats X-AppEngine-Estimated-CPM-US-Dollars: $0.645553 X-AppEngine-Resource-Usage: ms=18965 cpu_ms=27884 api_cpu_ms=0 Set-Cookie: ACSID=AJKiYcF_YA7PB18b3T5OO7vEMo31f1hFhO8xKqFRiBUGrCr4YABAAyugZXcDfKMOM- r0FiK8xlOPfQWx3tOWIJ6ueOqK89X8M9YfHIs8WKUcSs6PwNZSKV0HKxvbqeWxfZI_cpo2YoS73s_RPlyEvjaYLOf6iXPpWeYyKTAbSqPOEBnVnTk3oso6ur66CIj3FnN8vsHfbanqY4sbaRsNj9pLjWZco0quYLOK1fd4wRZx_oAvk3jOlfAj7BZ7p9L1bO8oVCMpVn19cwT6zvO2-9RSjfiOPAacw7Cg0MT30r7Fr7SCj7VcSPAye4lc7tb9KL9ztZEk0xbEX-9vC6vHM_VfPJ54Kb_FycxE6lACsKTE4hj0bOa2-2quaOP0NSxfoH9ozLlQQCsGhpWBnlu__W06D0GqDqxcDUu2HocYqWuLi91aoa- aRTkqB_qo4aAa3OvHeKoFgwrS; expires=Mon, 12-Apr-2010 19:41:49 GMT; path=/ Date: Sun, 11 Apr 2010 19:42:08 GMT Pragma: no-cache Expires: Fri, 01 Jan 1990 00:00:00 GMT Cache-Control: no-cache, must-revalidate Content-Type: text/html Server: Google Frontend Content-Length: 0 ---------------------------------------------------------- http://mysite.appspot.com/appstats/stats GET /appstats/stats HTTP/1.1 Host: mysite.appspot.com User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 6.0; en-US; rv: 1.9.2.3) Gecko/20100401 Firefox/3.6.3 (.NET CLR 3.5.30729) Accept: text/html,application/xhtml+xml,application/xml;q=0.9,*/ *;q=0.8 Accept-Language: en-us,en;q=0.5 Accept-Encoding: gzip,deflate Accept-Charset: ISO-8859-1,utf-8;q=0.7,*;q=0.7 Keep-Alive: 115 Connection: keep-alive Cookie: USER_LOCALE=en_US; JSESSIONID=POTIUPPpEmjHZoaNDWOSTA; ACSID=AJKiYcF_YA7PB18b3T5OO7vEMo31f1hFhO8xKqFRiBUGrCr4YABAAyugZXcDfKMOM- r0FiK8xlOPfQWx3tOWIJ6ueOqK89X8M9YfHIs8WKUcSs6PwNZSKV0HKxvbqeWxfZI_cpo2YoS73s_RPlyEvjaYLOf6iXPpWeYyKTAbSqPOEBnVnTk3oso6ur66CIj3FnN8vsHfbanqY4sbaRsNj9pLjWZco0quYLOK1fd4wRZx_oAvk3jOlfAj7BZ7p9L1bO8oVCMpVn19cwT6zvO2-9RSjfiOPAacw7Cg0MT30r7Fr7SCj7VcSPAye4lc7tb9KL9ztZEk0xbEX-9vC6vHM_VfPJ54Kb_FycxE6lACsKTE4hj0bOa2-2quaOP0NSxfoH9ozLlQQCsGhpWBnlu__W06D0GqDqxcDUu2HocYqWuLi91aoa- aRTkqB_qo4aAa3OvHeKoFgwrS HTTP/1.1 302 Found Location: http://mysite.appspot.com/appstats/stats X-AppEngine-Estimated-CPM-US-Dollars: $0.002243 X-AppEngine-Resource-Usage: ms=64 cpu_ms=93 api_cpu_ms=0 Date: Sun, 11 Apr 2010 19:42:08 GMT Content-Type: text/html Server: Google Frontend Content-Length: 0

  • How do I get MessageBox button caption?

    - by rodrigoq
Hello, I'm making a custom message box that lets you copy text, but I wanted it to look exactly like a standard message box, so I would like to set the buttons text to whatever the system language is, as the MessageBox class does. Does anyone knows how to get that text ("Yes", "No", "Cancel", etc)?.

  • LaTeX lstlisting not highlighting keywords when basic style is ttfamily

    - by Lex
Hello, I'm working on a LaTeX document and using lstlisting to display my Java source code. My setup looks like this: \lstset{ basicstyle=\ttfamily, keywordstyle=\bfseries, language=Java, frame=single, aboveskip=11pt, belowskip=11pt, breaklines=true, breakatwhitespace=false, showspaces=false, showstringspaces=false } The keywords are not highlighted bold when using ttfamily, but if I use small or don't specify the basic style, they're highlighted fine. What am I missing?

  • scp via java

    - by Lloyd Meinholz
What is the best method of performing an scp transfer via the Java programming language? It seems I may be able to perform this via JSSE, JSch or the bouncy castle java libraries. None of these solutions seem to have an easy answer.

  • What's your all-time creativity problem?

    - by furtelwart
Sometimes, you stumble with programming. Sometimes, it's a lack of creativity, sometimes, you need a new solution. But there are a lot of situations, you stick in, every time they occur. For myself, it's when I have to create the interface between model and viewer. I designed my data structure very well and drew a GUI prototype, but the missing link won't be written. What are your personal barricades in developing projects?

  • Google Ajax Search results differ from "normal" Google Results ?

    - by jAndy
Hi Folks, I guess anything important you might have to know is within the title. If I use the Google Ajax WebSearch API with, for instance, "Dummy Search" as phrase, my resultset is a different one than if I perform the same phrase over google.com. How can that be? My querystring paramter options are exactly the same, language etc. Thanks in Advance & Kind Regards

  • Fixing LOD gaps, T-junctions

    - by Jaka Jancar
I'm creating a heightmap renderer. One of the examples for solving gaps when doing LOD I found is this: (from Game Programming Gems 2 - Greg Snook - Simplified Terrain using Interlocking Tiles) Wouldn't this still produce a gap, if the three vertices encircled with red were not co-linear? Shouldn't the middle triangle be split into two, as I marked with the orange line? Am I misunderstanding the problem, or is there a mistake in the example?

  • What was your most useful/inspiring computer science course?

    - by MPelletier
I'm currently taking one course per semester, remotely, in a short 5 year program. My aim is to get better at my trade (programming and analysis, not surprisingly). However, I find that I'm not inspired by my choice of classes for next semester. Maybe I'm being too judgmental. I'd like to know what positive experience was gained from a course in particular. Have ou had a course that turned out to be an idea catalyst?

  • Eclipse Intro / Welcome page

    - by Raven
Hello, is it possible to have links on the welcome page which point to defined commands and for example, launch an dialog? I am thinking of having a welcome page, pointing out the steps what to do first, like: 1) change language (click here) 2) set up database connection (click here) 3) start working (click here) "click here" should be a link to call the actual dialog to set things up. I am using Eclipse with the command style menu. Grateful for any suggestions!

  • .Net Library for parsing source code files?

    - by Jörg Battermann
Does anyone know of a good .NET library that allows me to parse source code files, but not only .NET source code files (like java, perl, ruby, etc)? I need programmatic access to the contents of various source code files (e.g. class/method /parameter names, types, etc.). Has anyone come across something like this? I know within .NET it is reasonably possible and there are some libraries out there, but I need that to be abstracted to more types of programming languages.

  • Receiving data with Winsock

    - by Tamir
Right now, I'm programming the networking for my online game, and I'm not really sure what to do about receiving data. The problem is that I can't really guess the packet's size, so I thought of reading just 4 bytes from the packet and converting them to an int to know what's the packet's size. Then I'll just create a buffer in that size and receive the rest of the packet, is that a good idea? For your information, I'm using non-blocking i/o.
