  I have 2 databases with a 2 tables with HierachyID fields. For one database I can get a dal cs file, for the other database I cannot get a dal cs file ? HBus is a database I can get the dal cs for, ... SqlMetal /server:.\SQLSERVER2008 /database:HBus /code:HBusDC.cs /views /functions /sprocs /namespace:HBusDC /context:HBusDataContext This kicks me out a file, ... which works, but excludes the HierarchyID field for the table and includes all other fields for that table. This is OK I do not mind. • simpledateformat parsing date with 'Z' literal

  I am trying to parse a date that looks like this: 2010-04-05T17:16:00Z This is a valid date per http://www.ietf.org/rfc/rfc3339.txt. The 'Z' literal "imply that UTC is the preferred reference point for the specified time." If I try to parse it using SimpleDateFormat and this pattern: yyyy-MM-dd'T'HH:mm:ss It will be parsed as a Mon Apr 05 17:16:00 EDT 2010 SimpleDateFormat is unable to parse the string with these patterns: yyyy-MM-dd'T'HH:mm:ssz yyyy-MM-dd'T'HH:mm:ssZ I can explicitly set the TimeZone to use on the SimpleDateFormat to get the expected output, but I don't think that should be necessary. Is there something I am missing? Is there an alternative date parser?

Unless there's something new in Grails 1.2.1 or Groovy that I'm not understanding. They should be of the same type because the values are both the value returned by Calendar.getInstance().get(Calendar.YEAR)

  I am writing a piece of code in Java that needs to take a time sent from a bash script and parse the time to milliseconds. When I check the millisecond conversion on the date everything is correct except for the month I have sent which is January instead of March. Here is the variable I create in the bash script, which later in the script I pass to the Java program: TIME=`date +%m%d%Y_%H:%M:%S` Here is the Java code which parses the time to milliseconds: String dt = "${scriptstart}"; java.text.SimpleDateFormat scriptStart = new java.text.SimpleDateFormat("MMDDyyyy_HH:mm:ss"); long start = scriptStart.parse(dt).getTime(); The goal of this statement is to find the elapsed time between the start of the script and the current system time. To troubleshoot this I printed out the two: System Time = 1269898069496 (converted = Mon Mar 29 2010 16:27:49 GMT-0500 (Central Daylight Time)) Script Start = 03292010_16:27:45 Script Start in Milli = 1264804065000 (Converted = Fri Jan 29 2010 16:27:45 GMT-0600 (Central Standard Time))

• Unexpected behavior of IntentService

  I used IntentService in my code instead of Service because IntentService creates a thread for me in onHandleIntent(Intent intent), so I don't have to create a Thead myself in the code of my service. I expected that two intents to the same IntentSerivce will execute in parallel because a thread is generated in IntentService for each invent. But my code turned out that the two intents executed in sequential way. It there anything I misunderstood of IntentService. To make two service intents execute in parallel, do I have to replace IntentService with service and start a thread myself in the service code?   My input is String formated as the following: 3/4/2010 10:40:01 AM 3/4/2010 10:38:31 AM My code is: DateFormat dateFormat = new SimpleDateFormat("dd/mm/yyyy hh:mm:ss aa"); try { Date today = dateFormat.parse(time); System.out.println("Date Time : " + today); } catch (ParseException e) { e.printStackTrace(); } the output is: Sun Jan 03 10:38:31 AST 2010 Sun Jan 03 10:40:01 AST 2010 I'm not sure from where the day (Sun) came from? or (AST)? and why the date is wrong? I just wanted to keep the same format of the original String date and make it into a Date object. I'm using Netbeans 6.8 Mac version.

With multiple cores and/or threads we need to change how we tackle problems in code. Yes we can still continue to write code to perform an action in a top down fashion to complete a task. • Error in Jaclplus component

  Hi, I am working on Joomla 1.5 and our site is using the Bluehost server.Till March 9th, 2010 our site was working perfectly.And on March 10th,2010 , the following error was shown in the site as Warning: Unexpected character in input: '' (ASCII=28) state=1 in /home1/tcscoinc/public_html/tcsrnd/administrator/components/com_jaclplus/jac lplus.class.php on line 73 Parse error: syntax error, unexpected T_STRING in /home1/tcscoinc/public_html/tcsrnd/administrator/components/com_jaclplus/jac lplus.class.php on line 73 For time being, i have just renamed the file jaclplus.class.php to make the site to function. As we are using Jaclplus component and we have purchased the Jaclplus component from Byos Tech , i have checked in the membership details.And we found that our Membership has been expired on 03/10/2010 . I have asked them but they had replied that it may not be a problem on membership. Please anyone share what can be the reason for the error.I am not able to open that file(jaclplus.class.php) since its a binary file.

• Unable to verify body hash for DKIM

  I'm writing a C# DKIM validator and have come across a problem that I cannot solve. Right now I am working on calculating the body hash, as described in Section 3.7 Computing the Message Hashes. I am working with emails that I have dumped using a modified version of EdgeTransportAsyncLogging sample in the Exchange 2010 Transport Agent SDK. Instead of converting the emails when saving, it just opens a file based on the MessageID and dumps the raw data to disk. And while I was working on it (failing to get it to work) I finally came across a message with c=simple/simple which means that you process the whole body as is minus any empty CRLF at the end of the body. (Really, the rules for Body Canonicalization are quite ... simple.) Here is the real DKIM email with a signature using the simple algorithm (with only unneeded headers cleaned up). Now, using the above code and updating the expectedBase64 hash I get the following results: Expected hash: VnGg12/s7xH3BraeN5LiiN+I2Ul/db5/jZYYgt4wEIw= Computed hash: ISNNtgnFZxmW6iuey/3Qql5u6nflKPTke4sMXWMxNUw= Are equal: False The expected hash is the value from the bh= field of the DKIM-Signature header. Now, the file used in the second test is a direct raw output from the Exchange 2010 Transport Agent. If so inclined, you can view the modified EdgeTransportLogging.txt. At this point, no matter how I modify the second email, changing the start position or number of CRLF at the end of the file I cannot get the files to match. What worries me is that I have been unable to validate any body hash so far (simple or relaxed) and that it may not be feasible to process DKIM through Exchange 2010.

  As per the trouble shooting guide for VS2010 Load Testing (http://social.msdn.microsoft.com/Forums/en/vststest/thread/df043823-ffcf-46a4-9e47-1c4b8854ca13), I'm trying to restrict the range of ports used for client-controller communication. HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\MICROSOFT\VisualStudio\10.0\EnterpriseTools\QualityTools\ListenPortRange\PortRangeStart HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\MICROSOFT\VisualStudio\10.0\EnterpriseTools\QualityTools\ListenPortRange\PortRangeEnd I've set these keys on the client as described but according to netstat the client is still listening on random ports. The controller is attempting to communicate on the same random ports as the client. Anyone experienced the same?

• Can't connect SQL 2008 Express to Access project

  I just installed SQL 2008 Express and want to create an Access project (ADP). When I get to the Microsoft SQL Server Database Wizard in Access and after clicking on next to create the database I get this message: The new database wizard does not work with the version of Microsoft SQL Server to which you Access project is connected. See the Microsoft Update Web site for the latest information an downloads I can't find any solution to the problem so far. Any ideas why and how to solve this problem?

• Why Java SimpleDateFormat().parse() is giving weird formate?

  My input is String formated as the following: 3/4/2010 10:40:01 AM 3/4/2010 10:38:31 AM My code is: DateFormat dateFormat = new SimpleDateFormat("dd/mm/yyyy hh:mm:ss aa"); try { Date today = dateFormat.parse(time); System.out.println("Date Time : " + today); } catch (ParseException e) { e.printStackTrace(); } the output is: Sun Jan 03 10:38:31 AST 2010 Sun Jan 03 10:40:01 AST 2010 I'm not sure from where the day (Sun) came from? or (AST)? and why the date is wrong? I just wanted to keep the same format of the original String date and make it into a Date object. I'm using Netbeans 6.8 Mac version.

• Login to SQL Server Express via development environment (VS2010)

  Seems like I'm missing something simple, but my attempts to connect to SQL Server Express have failed. I feel like I need to add privileges for my account but I'm not sure where to do it. Dev Env: VS 2010 (Web) SQL: Sql Server Express 2008 OS: XP Trying to open a connection to database returns: Cannot open database "|DataDirectory|DropData.mdf" requested by the login. The login failed. Login failed for user 'devel.' I created the database using the interface in VS 2010 (Add new item - DB File) but my ASP.Net class only covered design-time access and not access in code, so I'm not familiar with what to do. I created a user (Devel) using SQL Server Management Studio to avoid connecting as SA, but couldn't figure out how to give any SQL-level access rights to this account. Any ideas? Thanks, Cameron

• Problem with Linq query and date format

  Hi All I have a C# console application written using Visual Studio 2008. My system culture is en-GB. I have a Linq query that looks like this: var myDate = "19-May-2010"; var cus = from x in _dataContext.testTable where x.CreateDate == Convert.ToDateTime(myDate) select x; The resulting SQL query generates and error because it returns the dates as "19/05/2010" which it interprets as an incorrect date. For some reason even though my system culture is set to en-GB it looks like it's trying to intrepret it as a en-US date. Any ideas how I get around this? Thanks. Alan T

• Windows Media Encoder object not created in ASP.NET on MS Server 2003 64 bit

  Hello, I created (and used) a Windows Media Encoder object in Microsoft Visual C# 2008 Express Edition on MS Server 2003 64 bit. This worked fine. However, when I attempted to create the equivalent Windows Media Encoder object using Microsoft Visual Web Developer 2008 on MS Server 2003 64 bit, the following exception was thrown: "Retrieving the COM class factory for component with CLSID {632B606A-BBC6-11D2-A329-006097C4E476} failed due to the following error: 80040154." It cannot be that the component isn’t registered, because both have a reference to the same WMEncEng.dll file. The Microsoft Visual Web Developer 2008 code also worked fine on XP 32 bit. Could it be a problem with permissions? Regardless, anyone have any ideas why this problem is occurring and, more importantly, how to resolve it? Thank you. • Problem with Hyperic monitoring on CloudFoundry - frequent alerts

  Hi, I'm running single instance CloudFoundry configuration with one web application. I turned on Hyperic monitoring with notification for case of web app unavailability. Now I randomly receive alert emails (Subject "An alert has been triggered - Deployment myapp - context unavailable") that the application is not running, but it obviously is running fine. In access log of Apache I see two requests every 15 seconds: 127.0.0.1 - - [17/Mar/2010:15:37:33 +0100] "GET /server-status?auto HTTP/1.1" 200 438 "-" "Jakarta Commons-HttpClient/3.1" 127.0.0.1 - - [17/Mar/2010:15:37:33 +0100] "GET /myapp HTTP/1.1" 200 - "-" "Jakarta Commons-HttpClient/3.1" At the time when I get the alert emails, everything in log still seems to be fine - two requests. Do you have idea what could be wrong? Did anybody have this kind of problem and solve it? Thanks, P

• Excel VBA: NetworkDays Error 2015

  Hi All, I have the this bit of code in a VBA class which is to workout the number of days between a property of the class (a date) and today’s date. Dim EmailDate As Date EmailDate = Me.Email.DateReceived Debug.Print EmailDate, Date Debug.Print NetworkDays(EmailDate), Date, Range("BankHolidays")) When I run it I get the following output 23/04/2010 19/05/2010 [GetMacroRegId] 'NETWORKDAYS' < [GetMacroRegId] 'NETWORKDAYS' -> '699990072' > Error 2015 I have tested it in a module, using dummy data, and get the correct answer. Can anyone see why this would be giving an error in a class? I have referenced atpvbaen.xls. Edit: I have found that when I run the code through a menu option I have created on the menu bar it fails, but when I run it via a button or through the VB Editor it works fine.
