A crazy question: Imagine a webpage file called somepage.php And it contains some html php contents in my editor I see: <html><head></head><body> <?=$welcome . $essay . $thatsAllForNowFolks . $footer ?>  </body></html> When I browse my site I see those comments in the final result, while I only want that comment to be only in my editor for my secretive inspirations and don't want the whole world to know what I'm thinking when I'm developing, as well as I see those comments for any and all my website visitors as wasted bandwitch of internet speed. How do I decomment my entire html/php files at the moment the html is served? Ideas, code and suggestions are much appreciated. My thanks in advance...

Low cost way to host a large table yet keep the performance scalable?

I have a growing table storing time series data, 500M entries now, and 200K new records every day. The total size is around 15GB for now. My clients are querying the table via a PHP script mostly, and the size of the result set is around 10K records (not very large). select * from T where timestamp > X and timestamp < Y and additionFilters And I want this operation cheap. Currently my table is hosting in Postgres 7, on a single 16G memory Box, and I would love to see some good suggestion for me to host this in low cost and also allow me to scale up for performance if needed. What causes subprocess.call to output blank file when attempting db export with mysqldump?

I am having some problems using subprocess.call to export a database using mysqldump. I'm using Python 3.1 installed on Windows 7. from time import gmtime, strftime import subprocess DumpDir = "c:/apps/sqlbackup/"; DumpFile = "mysqldump-" + strftime("%Y-%m-%d-%H-%M-%S", gmtime()) + ".sql"; params = [r"mysqldump --user root --password=mypassword --force --flush-privileges --compress --comments mydatabase --result-file=" + DumpDir + DumpFile]; subprocess.call(params, shell=True); The above code causes a blank file to be created in the DumpDir. I've tried getting python to print the command so I can test it via the CMD prompt using: print(subprocess.list2cmdline(params)); If I paste the output to the CMD prompt and execute it, everything works fine. Any ideas? I'm new to Python, so I am sure the answer is simple but I've tried so many variations to get this working that I just can't figure this out.

Negative zero using Crystal Report ToText()

Using Crystal Reports 8.5 on Windows Vista or 7, I'm using the ToText function to report a value: totext(Sum ({ap121w7.yrentamt}, {@type1099})*100,"000000000000000000") The result (if yrentamt is 0) is -000000000000000000 The dash (I assume it's a negative sign) is unneccessary and unwanted in my report. Is this a bug, or is there an easy solution? --Note-- I would very much like to avoid the following: if {ap121w7.yrentamt}=0.00 then yrentamt := "000000000000" else yrentamt := totext({ap121w7.yrentamt}*100,"000000000000"); I have about 100 files to fix with multiple formulas per file, and the above solution doesn't seem to work consistently either.

MYSQL: How do I set a date (makedate?) with month, day, and year

Hi? I have three columns, y, m, and d (year, month, and day) and want to store this as a date. What function would I use on mySQL to do this? Apparently makedate uses year and day of year (see below), but I have month. I know I can use STR_TO_DATE(str,format), by constructing the string from (y,m,d), but I would guess there is an easier way to do it. REFERENCES MAKEDATE(year,dayofyear) Returns a date, given year and day-of-year values. dayofyear must be greater than 0 or the result is NULL.

WeakReferences are not freed in embedded OS

I've got a strange behavior here: I get a massive memory leak in production running a WPF application that runs on a DLOG-Terminal (Windows Embedded Standard SP1) that behaves perfectly fine if I run it localy on a normal desktop (Win7 prof.) After many unsucessful attempts to find any problem I put one of those directly beside my monitor, installed the ANTs MemoryProfiler and did one hour test run simulating user operations on both the terminal and my development PC. Result is, that due to some strange reasons the embedded system piles up a huge amount of WeakReference and EffectiveValueEntry[] Objects. Here are are some pictures: Development (PC): And the terminal: Just look at the class list... Has anyone seen something like this before and are there known solutions to this? Where can I get help? (PS the terminals where installed with images prepared for .net4)

Hi, I have a stored procedure that returns a result with 250!!! columns. But I only need 3 out of the 250. I want to call the SP and put only the 3 column values in a temp table. I don't want to define a temp table with 250 columns! using KVO to filter an NSTableView using NSPredicate (with arrays)

My UI is not updating when I expect it to. The application displays "projects" using a view similar to iTunes -- a source list on the left lets you filter a list (NSTableView) on the right. My filters update properly when they are examining any simple field (like name, a string), but not for arrays (like tags). I'm removing a tag from one of my objects (from an NSMutableArray field called "tags") and I expect it to disappear from the list because it no longer matches the predicate that is bound to my table's NSArrayController. Writing datatable to database file, one record at a time in C#

Hi! I want to write a C# program that will read a row from a datatable (named loadDT) and update a database file (named Forecasts.mdb). My datatable looks like this (each day's value is a number representing kilowatts usage forecast): Hour Day1 Day2 Day3 Day4 Day5 Day6 Day7 1 519 520 524 498 501 476 451 My database file looks like this: Day Hour KWForecast 1 1 519 2 1 520 3 1 524 ... and so on. Basically, I want to be able to read one row from the datatable, and then extrapolate that out to my database file, one record at a time. Each row from the datatable will result in seven records written to the database file. Any ideas on how to go about this? I can connect to my database, the connection string works, and I can update and delete from the database. I just can't wrap my head around how to do this one record at a time. Thanks in advance for any help and advice.

Show that your result is again a low-pass filter. does this have to do with the coefficients being positive?

Merge changes when a file on a branch has split into two files on the master

This is basically the result of a massive class C on the master having been refactored down the line into two smaller classes, C1 and C2. C was then made a subclass of C2 and cut down to a skeletal version for backward compatibility. So from that point on, master contained C, C1 and C2. On that master commit git said C was renamed to C1. The branch was last updated before this happened. (All C++ code, if it helps to visualize the files involved) Obviously, when I tried a rebase of the branch onto master, there were conflicts that needed to be resolved. As usual, I used mergetool. So now the mergetool comes up with the following: On Local, I have the skeletal version of C. Base and Remote have a bunch of changes to C. Because the skeletal version of C exists on Local, I conclude that the changes from Base and Remote should actually go into C1, leaving C alone. My question is, how do I do this?

Quick example of multi-column results with jQueryUI's new Autocomplete?

I just found out that the jQueryUI now has it's own built-in auto-complete combo box. Great news! Unfortunately, the next thing I found is that making it multi-column doesn't seem nearly that simple (at least via documentation). There is a post here where someone mentions that they've done it (and even gives code), but I'm having trouble understanding what some of their code is doing. I'm just curious if anyone has ran across this before and could post a quick and easy sample of making a multi-column result set. Thanks much in advance.

If I search for "test," I get 0 results. But if I search for "test one" or "test two" I get the proper result. The search is ignoring the space. In reality I want both results if the user searches for "test." Any ideas? I tried contain and like.

Lightweight PHP server to bundle with application?

Does there exist some sort of PHP server that can be bundled with a locally-deployed application? It sounds wonky, but the end result is I can't use a remote web server to do anything. Clients will be downloading a package, and the plan is to use a Java backend that reads from a flat file. The flat file contains settings and is modified through a GUI written in HTML/JS, and this is where the server would come in. The forms in HTML should be able to submit to the server, which does a simple file write to the flat file. Is there any simple, lightweight server that has that simple feature? When running the executable for the application, it would start the installation process for the server before moving the web GUI files to the appropriate locations. Note that I'm doing this for a client, so I can't quite change the reqs and would rather not discuss their effectiveness. I would be ever thankful if people had suggestions for the server though!

NSFetchedResultsController not processing certain section driven moves

I utilize a NSFetchedResultsController (frc) with a Core Data store. I implement all the frc delegate methods. The table is sporadically updated by background threads. All the inserts, deletes and updates work fine, with the exception that updates to the frc's index key for rows toward to the bottom of the table (50 rows), do not result in a section move. e.g. if "name" is the index key and the name "Victor" is changed to "Alex", the victor row now shows the name Alex, but is not moved to the top of the table alongside all other names starting with A. As I noted, this is only for rows towards the bottom of the table. If a row like "Andy" is changed to "Ben", the move is indeed processed correctly by the frc. Any suggestions to fix this would be appreciated. I do not use a frc cache. Thanks

Accessing HttpRequest from Global.asax via a page

I'm trying to get a property (ImpersonatePersonId) from a page in global.asax but get a HttpException saying 'Request is not available in this context'. I've been searching for some documentation on where in the pipeline the request is accessible, but as far as I can see all Microsoft can produce of documentation is one-liners like "PostRequestHandlerExecute: Occurs when the ASP.NET event handler finishes execution." which really doesn't give me much... I've tried placing the call in both Pre and PostRequestHandlerExceute but with the same result. I wonder if anyone with experience in this would be so kind as to tell me where the Request object is available. My code from global asax is below. But i would like to use Windows vista SetFileBandwidthReservation api to have the best throughput possible. How should i next read the file for this to be the most worth it. Should i do exactly lpNumOutstandingRequests number of request of size lpTransferSize. Or can i do one synchronous request bigger than lpTransferSize.
