  • Paperclip: "missing" image when uses has_one

    - by EricR
    I'm working on a website that allows people who run bed and breakfast businesses to post their accommodations. I would like to require that they include a "profile image" of the accommodation when they post it, but I also want to give them the option to add more images later (this will be developed after). I thought the best thing to do would be to use the Paperclip gem and have a Accommodation and a Photo in my application, the later belonging to the first as an association. A new Photo record is created when they create an Accommodation. It has both id and accommodation_id attributes. However, the image is never uploaded and none of the Paperclip attributes get set (image_file_name: nil, image_content_type: nil, image_file_size: nil), so I get Paperclip's "missing" photo. Any ideas on this one? It's been keeping me stuck for a few days now. Accommodation models/accommodation.rb class Accommodation < ActiveRecord::Base validates_presence_of :title, :description, :photo, :thing, :location attr_accessible :title, :description, :thing, :borough, :location, :spaces, :price has_one :photo end controllers/accommodation_controller.erb class AccommodationsController < ApplicationController before_filter :login_required, :only => {:new, :edit} uses_tiny_mce ( :options => { :theme => 'advanced', :theme_advanced_toolbar_location => 'top', :theme_advanced_toolbar_align => 'left', :theme_advanced_buttons1 => 'bold,italic,underline,bullist,numlist,separator,undo,redo', :theme_advanced_buttons2 => '', :theme_advanced_buttons3 => '' }) def index @accommodations = Accommodation.all end def show @accommodation = Accommodation.find(params[:id]) end def new @accommodation = Accommodation.new end def create @accommodation = Accommodation.new(params[:accommodation]) @accommodation.photo = Photo.new(params[:photo]) @accommodation.user_id = current_user.id if @accommodation.save flash[:notice] = "Successfully created your accommodation." render :action => 'show' else render :action => 'new' end end def edit @accommodation = Accommodation.find(params[:id]) end def update @accommodation = Accommodation.find(params[:id]) if @accommodation.update_attributes(params[:accommodation]) flash[:notice] = "Successfully updated accommodation." render :action => 'show' else render :action => 'edit' end end def destroy @accommodation = Accommodation.find(params[:id]) @accommodation.destroy flash[:notice] = "Successfully destroyed accommodation." redirect_to :inkeep end private def check_owner end end views/accommodations/_form.html.erb <%= form_for @accommodation, :html => {:multipart => true} do |f| %> <%= f.error_messages %> <p> Title<br /> <%= f.text_field :title, :size => 60 %> </p> <p> Description<br /> <%= f.text_area :description, :rows => 17, :cols => 75, :class => "mceEditor" %> </p> <p> Photo<br /> <%= f.file_field :photo %> </p> [... snip ...] <p><%= f.submit %></p> <% end %> Photo The controller and views are still the same as when Rails generated them. models/photo.erb class Photo < ActiveRecord::Base attr_accessible :image_file_name, :image_content_type, :image_file_size belongs_to :accommodation has_attached_file :image, :styles => { :thumb=> "100x100#", :small => "150x150>" } end

  • Element.appendChild() hosed in IE .. workaround? (related to innerText vs textContent)

    - by Rowe Morehouse
    I've heard that using el.innerText||el.textContent can yield unreliable cross-browswer results, so I'm walking the DOM tree to collect text nodes recursively, and write them into tags in the HTML body. What this script does is read hash substring valus from the window.location and write them into the HTML. This script is working for me in Chrome & Firefox, but choking in IE. I call the page with an URL syntax like this: http://example.com/pagename.html#dyntext=FOO&dynterm=BAR&dynimage=FRED UPDATE UPDATE UPDATE Solution: I moved the scripts to before </body> (where they should have been) then removed console.log(sPageURL); and now it's working in Chrome, Firefox, IE8 and IE9. This my workaround for the innerText vs textContent crossbrowser issue when you are just placing text rather than getting text. In this case, getting hash substring values from the window.location and writing them into the page. <html> <body> <span id="dyntext-span" style="font-weight: bold;"></span><br /> <span id="dynterm-span" style="font-style: italic;"></span><br /> <span id="dynimage-span" style="text-decoration: underline;"></span><br /> <script src="http://ajax.googleapis.com/ajax/libs/jquery/1.8/jquery.min.js"></script> <script> $(document).ready(function() { var tags = ["dyntext", "dynterm", "dynimage"]; for (var i = 0; i < tags.length; ++i) { var param = GetURLParameter(tags[i]); if (param) { var dyntext = GetURLParameter('dyntext'); var dynterm = GetURLParameter('dynterm'); var dynimage = GetURLParameter('dynimage'); } } var elem = document.getElementById("dyntext-span"); var text = document.createTextNode(dyntext); elem.appendChild(text); var elem = document.getElementById("dynterm-span"); var text = document.createTextNode(dynterm); elem.appendChild(text); var elem = document.getElementById("dynimage-span"); var text = document.createTextNode(dynimage); elem.appendChild(text); }); function GetURLParameter(sParam) { var sPageURL = window.location.hash.substring(1); var sURLVariables = sPageURL.split('&'); for (var i = 0; i < sURLVariables.length; i++) { var sParameterName = sURLVariables[i].split('='); if (sParameterName[0] == sParam) { return sParameterName[1]; } } } </script> </body> </html> FINAL UPDATE If your hash substring values require spaces (like a linguistic phrase with three words, for example) then separate the words with the + character in your URI, and replace the unicode \u002B character with a space when you create each text node, like this: var elem = document.getElementById("dyntext-span"); var text = document.createTextNode(dyntext.replace(/\u002B/g, " ")); elem.appendChild(text); var elem = document.getElementById("dynterm-span"); var text = document.createTextNode(dynterm.replace(/\u002B/g, " ")); elem.appendChild(text); var elem = document.getElementById("dynimage-span"); var text = document.createTextNode(dynimage.replace(/\u002B/g, " ")); elem.appendChild(text); Now form your URI like this: http://example.com/pagename.html#dyntext=FOO+MAN+CHU&dynterm=BAR+HOPPING&dynimage=FRED+IS+DEAD

  • How can I modify my Shunting-Yard Algorithm so it accepts unary operators?

    - by KingNestor
    I've been working on implementing the Shunting-Yard Algorithm in JavaScript for class. Here is my work so far: var userInput = prompt("Enter in a mathematical expression:"); var postFix = InfixToPostfix(userInput); var result = EvaluateExpression(postFix); document.write("Infix: " + userInput + "<br/>"); document.write("Postfix (RPN): " + postFix + "<br/>"); document.write("Result: " + result + "<br/>"); function EvaluateExpression(expression) { var tokens = expression.split(/([0-9]+|[*+-\/()])/); var evalStack = []; while (tokens.length != 0) { var currentToken = tokens.shift(); if (isNumber(currentToken)) { evalStack.push(currentToken); } else if (isOperator(currentToken)) { var operand1 = evalStack.pop(); var operand2 = evalStack.pop(); var result = PerformOperation(parseInt(operand1), parseInt(operand2), currentToken); evalStack.push(result); } } return evalStack.pop(); } function PerformOperation(operand1, operand2, operator) { switch(operator) { case '+': return operand1 + operand2; case '-': return operand1 - operand2; case '*': return operand1 * operand2; case '/': return operand1 / operand2; default: return; } } function InfixToPostfix(expression) { var tokens = expression.split(/([0-9]+|[*+-\/()])/); var outputQueue = []; var operatorStack = []; while (tokens.length != 0) { var currentToken = tokens.shift(); if (isNumber(currentToken)) { outputQueue.push(currentToken); } else if (isOperator(currentToken)) { while ((getAssociativity(currentToken) == 'left' && getPrecedence(currentToken) <= getPrecedence(operatorStack[operatorStack.length-1])) || (getAssociativity(currentToken) == 'right' && getPrecedence(currentToken) < getPrecedence(operatorStack[operatorStack.length-1]))) { outputQueue.push(operatorStack.pop()) } operatorStack.push(currentToken); } else if (currentToken == '(') { operatorStack.push(currentToken); } else if (currentToken == ')') { while (operatorStack[operatorStack.length-1] != '(') { if (operatorStack.length == 0) throw("Parenthesis balancing error! Shame on you!"); outputQueue.push(operatorStack.pop()); } operatorStack.pop(); } } while (operatorStack.length != 0) { if (!operatorStack[operatorStack.length-1].match(/([()])/)) outputQueue.push(operatorStack.pop()); else throw("Parenthesis balancing error! Shame on you!"); } return outputQueue.join(" "); } function isOperator(token) { if (!token.match(/([*+-\/])/)) return false; else return true; } function isNumber(token) { if (!token.match(/([0-9]+)/)) return false; else return true; } function getPrecedence(token) { switch (token) { case '^': return 9; case '*': case '/': case '%': return 8; case '+': case '-': return 6; default: return -1; } } function getAssociativity(token) { switch(token) { case '+': case '-': case '*': case '/': return 'left'; case '^': return 'right'; } } It works fine so far. If I give it: ((5+3) * 8) It will output: Infix: ((5+3) * 8) Postfix (RPN): 5 3 + 8 * Result: 64 However, I'm struggling with implementing the unary operators so I could do something like: ((-5+3) * 8) What would be the best way to implement unary operators (negation, etc)? Also, does anyone have any suggestions for handling floating point numbers as well? One last thing, if anyone sees me doing anything weird in JavaScript let me know. This is my first JavaScript program and I'm not used to it yet.

  • Why is FubuMVC new()ing up my view model in PartialForEach?

    - by Jon M
    I'm getting started with FubuMVC and I have a simple Customer - Order relationship I'm trying to display using nested partials. My domain objects are as follows: public class Customer { private readonly IList<Order> orders = new List<Order>(); public string Name { get; set; } public IEnumerable<Order> Orders { get { return orders; } } public void AddOrder(Order order) { orders.Add(order); } } public class Order { public string Reference { get; set; } } I have the following controller classes: public class CustomersController { public IndexViewModel Index(IndexInputModel inputModel) { var customer1 = new Customer { Name = "John Smith" }; customer1.AddOrder(new Order { Reference = "ABC123" }); return new IndexViewModel { Customers = new[] { customer1 } }; } } public class IndexInputModel { } public class IndexViewModel { public IEnumerable<Customer> Customers { get; set; } } public class IndexView : FubuPage<IndexViewModel> { } public class CustomerPartial : FubuControl<Customer> { } public class OrderPartial : FubuControl<Order> { } IndexView.aspx: (standard html stuff trimmed) <div> <%= this.PartialForEach(x => x.Customers).Using<CustomerPartial>() %> </div> CustomerPartial.ascx: <%@ Control Language="C#" Inherits="FubuDemo.Controllers.Customers.CustomerPartial" %> <div> Customer Name: <%= this.DisplayFor(x => x.Name) %> <br /> Orders: (<%= Model.Orders.Count() %>) <br /> <%= this.PartialForEach(x => x.Orders) %> </div> OrderPartial.ascx: <%@ Control Language="C#" Inherits="FubuDemo.Controllers.Customers.OrderPartial" %> <div> Order <br /> Ref: <%= this.DisplayFor(x => x.Reference) %> </div> When I view Customers/Index, I see the following: Customers Customer Name: John Smith Orders: (1) It seems that in CustomerPartial.ascx, doing Model.Orders.Count() correctly picks up that 1 order exists. However PartialForEach(x = x.Orders) does not, as nothing is rendered for the order. If I set a breakpoint on the Order constructor, I see that it initially gets called by the Index method on CustomersController, but then it gets called by FubuMVC.Core.Models.StandardModelBinder.Bind, so it is getting re-instantiated by FubuMVC and losing the content of the Orders collection. This isn't quite what I'd expect, I would think that PartialForEach would just pass the domain object directly into the partial. Am I missing the point somewhere? What is the 'correct' way to achieve this kind of result in Fubu?

  • HTML/JS/CSS issue getting bigger by itself

    - by Azzyh
    Here's the picture to begin with. I have this check box, that when you check, then with jQuery toggle(); it hides that you see in first half of the picture (#writeComment) and shows #SCtryVOTE (what you see in the other half picture, to the right). Now i dont know why but of some reason it expands when its checked, why i dont know, is it because it needs more place than it have or? how do i make this work without having problems when its checked. Here's coding: $('#tryout').click(function () { $('#writeComment').toggle(!$(this).attr('checked')); $('#SCtryVOTE').toggle($(this).attr('checked')); }); the js jquery script part, heres the table and divs HTML part: <input type="checkbox" id="tryout"> <table align="center" width="400" cellpadding="0" cellspacing="1" id="theBoxer"> <tr style="background: #686868;"> <td align="center" valign="top" width="70" height="25" style="border:1px #FFF solid;">Opret</td> <td align="center" valign="top" width="70" height="25" style="border:1px #FFF solid;">Opret</td> </td> </tr> <tr> <td align="left" valign="top" width="70" height="112" style=""> TEST </td> <td align="left" valign="top" width="70" height="112" style=""> <div id="writeComment"> Smid en kommentar:<br> <form action="javascript:DoInsert()" method="post"> <textarea id="kommentar" name="kommentar"></textarea><br /> <input type="hidden" name="fID" id="fID" value="<? echo $_GET["id"]; ?>"> <input type="submit" name="Submit" value="Sæt ind!"> </form> </div> <div id="SCtryVOTE" style="display: none;"> <form onsubmit="if (!this.comment.cleared) clearContents( document.getElementById('comment') ); return true;" action="javascript:DoSCInsert()" method="post"> <textarea onfocus=" javascript:clearContents(this); this.cleared=true;" rows="5" cols="40" id="comment" name="comment" <?php if($vis["username"] == $pusername) { echo "DISABLED"; } ?>>Tryk for at skrive. Skal være detaljeret og grundet.</textarea> <br>Ja: <input type="radio" value="Y" id="SCvoteY" name="vote"></input> Nej: <input type="radio" id="SCvoteN" value="N" name="vote"> </input> <input type="submit" id="SCstem" name="Submit" value="Stem!"> </form> </div> Maybe you need the CSS part too for these two boxes: #writeComment{ position: relative; left: 5px; top: 10px; } #SCtryVOTE{ position: relative; left: 5px; top: 10px; }

  • Jquery, XML and Google Map

    - by EXPennD
    Hi, I'm integrating a Google Map in my website that user could add some thumbnails and details of their own house. Here's a code preview of what I want to happen. <!DOCTYPE html PUBLIC "-//W3C//DTD XHTML 1.0 Strict//EN" "http://www.w3.org/TR/xhtml1/DTD/xhtml1-strict.dtd"> Jquery and Google Map // var locations = {}; function load() { var map = new GMap2(document.getElementById("map")); map.setCenter(new GLatLng(47.614495, -122.341861), 13); GDownloadUrl("markerdata.xml", function(data) { var xml = GXml.parse(data); var markers = xml.documentElement.getElementsByTagName("marker"); for (var i = 0; i < markers.length; i++) { var name = markers[i].getAttribute("name"); var address = markers[i].getAttribute("address"); var type = markers[i].getAttribute("type"); var latlng = new GLatLng(parseFloat(markers[i].getAttribute("lat")), parseFloat(markers[i].getAttribute("lng"))); var store = {latlng: latlng, name: name, address: address, type: type}; var latlngHash = (latlng.lat().toFixed(6) + "" + latlng.lng().toFixed(6)); latlngHash = latlngHash.replace(".","").replace(".", "").replace("-",""); if (locations[latlngHash] == null) { locations[latlngHash] = [] } locations[latlngHash].push(store); } for (var latlngHash in locations) { var stores = locations[latlngHash]; if (stores.length > 1) { map.addOverlay(createClusteredMarker(stores)); } else { map.addOverlay(createMarker(stores)); } } }); } function createMarker(stores) { var store = stores[0]; var newIcon = MapIconMaker.createMarkerIcon({width: 32, height: 32, primaryColor: "#00ff00"}); var marker = new GMarker(store.latlng, {icon: newIcon}); var html = "<b>" + store.name + "</b> <br/>" + store.address; GEvent.addListener(marker, 'click', function() { marker.openInfoWindowHtml(html); }); return marker; } function createClusteredMarker(stores) { var newIcon = MapIconMaker.createMarkerIcon({width: 44, height: 44, primaryColor: "#00ff00"}); var marker = new GMarker(stores[0].latlng, {icon: newIcon}); var html = ""; for (var i = 0; i < stores.length; i++) { html += "<b>" + stores[i].name + "</b> <br/>" + stores[i].address + "<br/>"; } GEvent.addListener(marker, 'click', function() { marker.openInfoWindowHtml(html); }); return marker; } //]]> description I want this feature to be fully interactive. If possible user can drag and drop a marker to the location on the Google map and the description field would be enabled after adding the marker so user could add details and submit it. Also here's my current situation. The reason why I want it to be done in XML is the Content Management System that I currently use for this project don't allow me to add Database and Php scripts. The only thing that I have access is I could add new HTML on the BODY section and also External Javascript on the HEAD section. Sorry about the way I write it, it sounds like demanding. Its because I'm still learning Jquery. Thanks everyone!

  • undefined method `new_record?' for nil:NilClass

    - by TopperH
    In rails 3.2 I created a post controller. Each post can have a different number of paperclip attachments. To achieve this I created a assets model where each asset has a paperclip attachment. One post has_many assets and assets belong_to post. Asset model class Asset < ActiveRecord::Base belongs_to :post has_attached_file :photo, :styles => { :thumb => "200x200>" } end Post model class Post < ActiveRecord::Base attr_accessible :content, :title has_many :assets, :dependent => :destroy validates_associated :assets after_update :save_assets def new_asset_attributes=(asset_attributes) asset_attributes.each do |attributes| assets.build(attributes) end end def existing_asset_attributes=(asset_attributes) assets.reject(&:new_record?).each do |asset| attributes = asset_attributes[asset.id.to_s] if attributes asset.attributes = attributes else asset.delete(asset) end end end def save_assets assets.each do |asset| asset.save(false) end end end Posts helper module PostsHelper def add_asset_link(name) link_to_function name do |post| post.insert_html :bottom, :assets, :partial => 'asset', :object => Asset.new end end end Form for post <%= form_for @post, :html => { :multipart => true } do |f| %> <% if @post.errors.any? %> <div id="error_explanation"> <h2><%= pluralize(@post.errors.count, "error") %> prohibited this post from being saved:</h2> <ul> <% @post.errors.full_messages.each do |msg| %> <li><%= msg %></li> <% end %> </ul> </div> <% end %> <div class="field"> <%= f.label :title %><br /> <%= f.text_field :title %> </div> <div class="field"> <%= f.label :content %><br /> <%= f.text_area :content %> </div> <div id="assets"> Attach a file or image<br /> <%= render 'asset', :collection => @post.assets %> </div> <div class="actions"> <%= f.submit %> </div> <% end %> Asset partial <div class="asset"> <% new_or_existing = asset.new_record? ?   • How to read oom-killer syslog messages?

    - by Grant
    I have a Ubuntu 12.04 server which sometimes dies completely - no SSH, no ping, nothing until it is physically rebooted. After the reboot, I see in syslog that the oom-killer killed, well, pretty much everything. There's a lot of detailed memory usage information in them. How do I read these logs to see what caused the OOM issue? The server has far more memory than it needs, so it shouldn't be running out of memory. Para iniciar hablaremos un poco sobre el control File Upload, de esta forma daremos una idea general de que es y como trabaja. El File Upload es un control de asp.net que permite que los usuarios seleccionen un archivo de cualquier ubicación en el equipo y lo suban a un directorio predeterminado a traves de una página asp.net. En principio este control esta limitado para no permitir subir archivos de mas de 4 MB. Sin embargo, desde el webconfig de nuestra aplicacón podremos cambiar ese valor, ya sea para aumentarlo o bien para disminuirlo. Nuestro ejemplo, se enfocará en crear un webcontrol que permita seleccionar un archivo y guardarlo, asi que empecemos. Lo primero será agregar a nuestra página un webcontrol que llamaremos Upload.ascx Posteriormente en nuestro webcontrol, agregamos el siguiente código: <table style="width: 100%">         <tr>             <td colspan="3">             <div align="center">                  <asp:Label ID="Label1" runat="server" Text="File Upload"></asp:Label>              </div>             </td>                    </tr>         <tr>             <td style="width: 456px" rowspan="2">                                                             &nbsp;</td>             <td style="width: 386px">                                <div align="center">                         <asp:FileUpload ID="FileUpload1" runat="server" Height="24px" Width="243px" />                         <span id="Span1" runat="server" />                            </div>                      </td>             <td rowspan="2">                                                             </td>         </tr>         <tr>             <td style="width: 386px">                 <div align="center">                      <asp:ImageButton Id="btnupload" runat="server" OnClick="btnupload_Click"                     ImageUrl="~/Styles/img/upload.png" style="text-align: center" />           </div>                  </td>         </tr>         <tr>             <td colspan="3">                 &nbsp;</td>         </tr>     </table>  De esta forma nuestro control deberá verse algo así   Por último en el code behin de nuestro control agregamos el código a nuestro boton, el cual será el encargado de leer el archivo que se encuentra en el File Upload y guardarlo en la ruta especificada.  Protected Sub btnupload_Click(ByVal sender As Object, ByVal e As System.Web.UI.ImageClickEventArgs) Handles btnupload.Click         If FileUpload1.HasFile Then             Dim fileExt As String             fileExt = System.IO.Path.GetExtension(FileUpload1.FileName)             If (fileExt = ".exe") Then                 Label1.Text = "You can´t upload .exe file!"             Else                 Try                     FileUpload1.SaveAs(decrpath & _                        FileUpload1.FileName)                     Label1.Text = "File name: " & _                       FileUpload1.PostedFile.FileName & "<br>" & _                       "File Size: " & _                       FileUpload1.PostedFile.ContentLength & " kb<br>" & _                       "Content type: " & _                       FileUpload1.PostedFile.ContentType                 Catch ex As Exception                     Label1.Text = "ERROR: " & ex.Message.ToString()                 End Try             End If         Else             Label1.Text = "You have not specified a file!"         End If            End Sub   Como vemos en el código anterior tambien hemos agregado otros elementos los cuales nos dirán el nombre del archivo, el tipo de contenido y el tamaño en kb una vez que el archivo ha sido súbido al servidor. Por último deben tomar en cuenta que decrpath es la ruta en donde será subido el archivo, la cual deben variar a su gusto.

  • Facebook: Sending private messages to FB profile from a static website [migrated]

    - by Frondor
    I need to setup a static website for people to: Complete a form. And using anything from Facebook API, GET the form output via message to a Facebook Profile. I've been punching my head against "facebook developers" page all night long and can't find out how to do it. Seems quite easy, but the problem is that I don't know if you'll get my point :) Like the Send Dialog feature, you can set a certain user as recipient which will be displayed on the "To:" field once the dialog appears. FB.ui({ method: 'send', to: 'UserID', link: 'http://www.nytimes.com/2011/06/15/arts/people-argue-just-to-win-scholars-assert.html', }); Ok, All I need is to be able to use the same behavior but instead of setting a "to:" parameter, I'd like to set a "message:" parameter. I don't know how I can solve this becuase there's no parameter like this on the API actually. This is what I need to build (It's a prototype, this code won't work) <form action="mysite.com" id="order"> <input type="radio" name="chocolate" value="white">White <br/> <input type="radio" name="chocolate" value="black">Black <br/> <input type="submit" value="Order" /> </form> jQuery gets the values $(document).ready(function() { $("#order").on("submit", function(e) { e.preventDefault(); var formOutput = $(this).serialize(); var order = "I'd like to eat" + formOutput + "chocolate"; }); }); Facebook sdk sends this output ('order' string) FB.ui({ method: 'send', //or whatever to: 'UserID', message: order, //Its just an example, note the variable coming from the form link: 'http://www.nytimes.com/2011/06/15/arts/people-argue-just-to-win-scholars-assert.html', }); As we all know, what I wrote isn't possible, so I'm asking for any alternative solution if somebody can give me, I'm not very friendly with facebook APIs :) I though in another solution which consist in using the form output directly on the 'link:' parameter of FB.ui and then reading it with jQuery on some landing page. For example, on the message sent, the linked content redirects to this URL: http://mysite.com/dashboard.html?chocolate=white and the dashboard page source code: <script> var choco = getUrlParameter('chocolate'); $("#dashboard").text("This person wants" + choco + "chocolate") </script> <div id="dashboard"></div> And this way, I will be able to see which kind of chocolate the person selected by parsing some parameters on the URL when clicking on the link section of the message: using a code like this: FB.ui({ method: 'send', //or whatever to: 'MyUserID', link: 'http://mysite.com/dashboard.html?chocolate=white', }); But no this try, my biggest problem is that I don't know how to dynamically "customize" that "link:" paramenter with jQuery. I think the best solution is to use a code like this along with the dashboard page in order to "translate" the shared URLs and see what kind of chocolate people are demanding xD FB.ui({ //declaring a variable (example) var string = getFormData().serialize; var orderString = "mysite.com/dashboard.html?" + string; // end the variables // start facebook API code method: 'send', //or whatever to: 'MyUserID', link: orderString, }); I was working here until I gave up and started to post this http://jsfiddle.net/Frondor/sctepn06/2/ Thanks in advance, I'll love you for ever if you help me solving this :D

  • Access Master Page Controls II

    - by Bunch
    Here is another way to access master page controls. This way has a bit less coding then my previous post on the subject. The scenario would be that you have a master page with a few navigation buttons at the top for users to navigate the app. After a button is clicked the corresponding aspx page would load in the ContentPlaceHolder. To make it easier for the users to see what page they are on I wanted the clicked navigation button to change color. This would be a quick visual for the user and is useful when inevitably they are interrupted with something else and cannot get back to what they were doing for a little while. Anyway the code is something like this. Master page: <body>     <form id="form1" runat="server">     <div id="header">     <asp:Panel ID="Panel1" runat="server" CssClass="panelHeader" Width="100%">        <center>            <label style="font-size: large; color: White;">Test Application</label>        </center>       <asp:Button ID="btnPage1" runat="server" Text="Page1" PostBackUrl="~/Page1.aspx" CssClass="navButton"/>       <asp:Button ID="btnPage2" runat="server" Text="Page2" PostBackUrl="~/Page2.aspx" CssClass="navButton"/>       <br />     </asp:Panel>     <br />     </div>     <div>         <asp:scriptmanager ID="Scriptmanager1" runat="server"></asp:scriptmanager>         <asp:ContentPlaceHolder id="ContentPlaceHolder1" runat="server">         </asp:ContentPlaceHolder>     </div>     </form> </body> Page 1: VB Protected Sub Page_Load(ByVal sender As Object, ByVal e As System.EventArgs) Handles Me.Load     Dim clickedButton As Button = Master.FindControl("btnPage1")     clickedButton.CssClass = "navButtonClicked" End Sub CSharp protected void Page_Load(object sender, EventArgs e) {     Button clickedButton;     clickedButton = (Button)Master.FindControl("btnPage1");     clickedButton.CssClass = "navButtonClicked"; } CSS: .navButton {     background-color: White;     border: 1px #4e667d solid;     color: #2275a7;     display: inline;     line-height: 1.35em;     text-decoration: none;     white-space: nowrap;     width: 100px;     text-align: center;     margin-bottom: 10px;     margin-left: 5px;     height: 30px; } .navButtonClicked {     background-color:#FFFF86;     border: 1px #4e667d solid;     color: #2275a7;     display: inline;     line-height: 1.35em;     text-decoration: none;     white-space: nowrap;     width: 100px;     text-align: center;     margin-bottom: 10px;     margin-left: 5px;     height: 30px; } The idea is pretty simple, use FindControl for the master page in the page load of your aspx page. In the example I changed the CssClass for the aspx page's corresponding button to navButtonClicked which has a different background-color and makes the clicked button stand out. • Why are my labels not updating in my update panel in ASP.NET?

    - by CowKingDeluxe
    I have a label in my update panel that I want to update its text on after a successful asynchronus file upload. Here's my markup: <asp:UpdatePanel ID="UpdatePanel1" runat="server"><ContentTemplate> Step 1 (<asp:Label ID="label_fileupload" runat="server" />): <br /> <ajaxToolkit:AsyncFileUpload ID="AsyncFileUpload1" Width="200px" runat="server" CompleteBackColor="Lime" UploaderStyle="Modern" ErrorBackColor="Red" ThrobberID="Throbber" UploadingBackColor="#66CCFF" OnClientUploadStarted="StartUpload" /> <asp:Label ID="Throbber" runat="server" Style="display: none"><img src="/images/indicator.gif" alt="loading" /></asp:Label> <br /> <asp:Label ID="statuslabel" runat="server" Text="Label"></asp:Label> </ContentTemplate></asp:UpdatePanel> Here is my code-behind: Protected Sub Page_Load(ByVal sender As Object, ByVal e As System.EventArgs) Handles Me.Load If (IsPostBack) Then Else label_fileupload.Text = "Incomplete" label_fileupload.CssClass = "uploadincomplete" statuslabel.Text = "NOT DONE" End If End Sub Public Sub AsyncFileUpload1_UploadedComplete1(ByVal sender As Object, ByVal e As AjaxControlToolkit.AsyncFileUploadEventArgs) Handles AsyncFileUpload1.UploadedComplete System.Threading.Thread.Sleep(1000) If (AsyncFileUpload1.HasFile) Then Dim strPath As String = MapPath("/images/White.png") AsyncFileUpload1.SaveAs(strPath) End If label_fileupload.Text = "Complete" label_fileupload.CssClass = "uploadcomplete" statuslabel.Text = "DONE" End Sub When I set the labels to update via a button click, they work. But when I set them to update via the Upload complete event, they don't work. Is there some way around this to get the labels to update their text / css class from the UploadedComplete event of an asynchronous file upload control?

  • Hidden Field losing its Value on postback

    - by Ratan
    I have a ascx page where I am using a hidden field to store the value of a the drop down box as it is generated using a google address finder. My problem is that when I try to store the value directly in the hidden field : hfDdlVerifyID.Value = ddlVerifySS.SelectedValue; in the event of a button click, the value is stored but on postback is lost again. Whereas, if i try to use Scriptmanager to do it, nothing is stored. getBuild.AppendLine("$get('" + hfDdlVerifyID.ClientID + "').value = $get('" + ddlVerifySS.ClientID + ").value;"); ScriptManager.RegisterClientScriptBlock(this.Page, this.GetType(), "storeHidden", getBuild.ToString(), true); // Page.ClientScript.RegisterClientScriptBlock(this.GetType(), "storeHidden", getBuild.ToString(), true); string test = hfDdlVerifyID.Value.ToString(); The ascx page is : <asp:UpdatePanel ID = ddlUpdate runat="server"> <ContentTemplate> <asp:Panel ID="pVerify" runat="server"> <br /> <fieldset> <legend> <asp:Literal ID="lVerify" runat="server" /> </legend> <asp:CheckBox ID ="cbVerify" runat ="server" Text ="Use the value from the following list, (Uncheck to accept address as it is)." • Invalid length for a Base-64 char array.

    - by Code Sherpa
    As the title says, I am getting: Invalid length for a Base-64 char array. I have read about this problem on here and it seems that the suggestion is to store ViewState in SQL if it is large. I am using a wizard with a good deal of data collection so chances are my ViewSate is large. But, before I turn to the "store-in-DB" solution, maybe somebody can take a look and tell me if I have other options? I construct the email for delivery using the below method: public void SendEmailAddressVerificationEmail(string userName, string to) { string msg = "Please click on the link below or paste it into a browser to verify your email account.<BR><BR>" + "<a href=\"" + _configuration.RootURL + "Accounts/VerifyEmail.aspx?a=" + userName.Encrypt("verify") + "\">" + _configuration.RootURL + "Accounts/VerifyEmail.aspx?a=" + userName.Encrypt("verify") + "</a>"; SendEmail(to, "", "", "Account created! Email verification required.", msg); } The Encrypt method looks like this: public static string Encrypt(string clearText, string Password) { byte[] clearBytes = System.Text.Encoding.Unicode.GetBytes(clearText); PasswordDeriveBytes pdb = new PasswordDeriveBytes(Password, new byte[] { 0x49, 0x76, 0x61, 0x6e, 0x20, 0x4d, 0x65, 0x64, 0x76, 0x65, 0x64, 0x65, 0x76 }); byte[] encryptedData = Encrypt(clearBytes, pdb.GetBytes(32), pdb.GetBytes(16)); return Convert.ToBase64String(encryptedData); } On the receiving end, the VerifyEmail.aspx.cs page has the line: string username = Cryptography.Decrypt(_webContext.UserNameToVerify, "verify"); And the decrypt method looks like: public static string Decrypt(string cipherText, string password) { **// THE ERROR IS THROWN HERE!!** byte[] cipherBytes = Convert.FromBase64String(cipherText); Can this error be remedied with a code fix or must I store ViewState in the database? Thanks in advance.

  • Getting Oracle's MD5 to match PHP's MD5

    - by Zenshai
    Hi all, I'm trying to compare an MD5 checksum generated by PHP to one generated by Oracle 10g. However it seems I'm comparing apples to oranges. Here's what I did to test the comparison: //md5 tests //php md5 print md5('testingthemd5function'); print '<br/><br/>'; //oracle md5 $md5query = "select md5hash('testingthemd5function') from dual"; $stid = oci_parse($conn, $md5query); if (!$stid) { $e = oci_error($conn); print htmlentities($e['message']); exit; } $r = oci_execute($stid, OCI_DEFAULT); if (!$r) { $e = oci_error($stid); echo htmlentities($e['message']); exit; } $row = oci_fetch_row($stid); print $row[0]; The md5 function (seen in the query above) in Oracle uses the 'dbms_obfuscation_toolkit.md5' package(?) and is defined like this: CREATE OR REPLACE FUNCTION PORTAL.md5hash (v_input_string in varchar2) return varchar2 is v_checksum varchar2(20); begin v_checksum := dbms_obfuscation_toolkit.md5 (input_string => v_input_string); return v_checksum; end; What comes out on my PHP page is: 29dbb90ea99a397b946518c84f45e016 )Û¹©š9{”eÈOEà Can anyone help me in getting the two to match?

  • Error in ASP.NET MVC 2 View after Upgrading from ASP.NET 4.0 RC to RTM

    - by Chris
    In my View, I am trying to loop through a list in a LINQ object that as part of my View Model. This worked fine earlier today with the VS2010 RC and the .NET 4.0 RC. <% if (Model.User.RoleList.Count > 0 ) { %> <% foreach (var role in Model.User.RoleList) { %> <%: role.Name %><br /> <% } %> <% } else { %> <em>None</em><br /> <% } %> It used to happily spew out a list of the role names. No data or code has changed. Simply the software upgrades from RC to RTM. The error I am getting is this: \Views\Users\Details.aspx(67): error CS0012: The type 'System.Data.Linq.EntitySet`1' is defined in an assembly that is not referenced. You must add a reference to assembly 'System.Data.Linq, Version=4.0.0.0, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=b77a5c561934e089'. But System.Data.Linq IS referenced. I see it there in the references list. I tried deleting it and re-adding it but I get the same error. Any ideas?

  • codeigniter & cjax framework, fatal error class 'CI_Controller' not found

    - by Martin
    I'm having this weird error with Codeigniter 2.1.3 and latest cjax for codeigniter. Weird thing is, when I download the latest codeigniter, and latest cjax framework for codeitniger and copy to my friends server, and call: domain.com/ajax.php?test/test2 to show the test ajax examples ... it works like a breeze, but when I do this on my server, I get server error (even tho, we both have same php version and such). Server then throws in error log file this error: PHP Fatal error: Class 'CI_Controller' not found in /hosting/www/domain.com/www/application/response/test.php on line 3 Now, I've read thru stackoverflow with people having this problem and solving by changing the construct and calling CI_Controller instead of Controller. But I already do that ... - I mean it's in the basic example that is suppose to work without touching the code, and it does, just not on my domain for some crappy reason. Ajax.php from cjax framework for codeingter should load controller from folder response, named test and call function test2, which looks like this (the actual file named test.php): class Test extends CI_Controller { function __construct() { parent::__construct(); } /** * * ajax.php?test/test/a/b/c * * @param unknown_type $a * @param unknown_type $b * @param unknown_type $c */ function test($a = null,$b = null, $c = null) { $this->load->view('test', array('data' => $a .' '.$b.' '.$c)); } /** * ajax.php?test/test2 * * Here we are testing out the javascript library. * * Note: the library it is not meant to be included in ajax controllers - but in front-controllers, * it is being used here for the sake of simplicity in testing. */ function test2() { $ajax = ajax(); $ajax->update('response','Cjax Works'); $ajax->append('#response','<br /><br />version: '.$ajax->version); $ajax->success('Cjax was successfully installed.', 5); //see application/views/test2.php $this->load->view('test2'); } I was hoping someone could bring some light into this problem - or maybe someone has already experienced it? Thanks for your time! Mart

I save the stream as a string and pass it onto another activity which contains a WebView to render this HTML on the screen: response = httpClient.execute(get); InputStream is = response.getEntity().getContent(); BufferedReader br = new BufferedReader(new InputStreamReader(is,"utf-8")); StringBuffer sb = new StringBuffer(); String line; while((line=br.readLine())!=null){ sb.append(line); sb.append("\n"); } is.close(); Intent intent = new Intent(this,Trial.class); intent.putExtra("trial",sb.toString()); startActivity(intent); Log.i("SB",sb.toString()); In Second Activity, the code to load the WebView reads: WebView browser = ((WebView)findViewById(R.id.trial_web)); browser.getSettings().setJavaScriptEnabled(true); browser.loadData(html,"text/html", "utf-8"); When I run this code, the WebView is not able to render the HTML content properly. It actually shows the HTML string in URL encoded format on the screen. Interestingly, If I copy the Loggers output to HTML file and then load this HTML in my WebView(using webview.loadurl(file:///assets/xyz.html)) everything works fine. I suspect some problem with character encoding. What is going wrong here? Please help. Thanks.
