    So I am using the HTML5 date input type, primary to trigger the 'wheels' in iOS. Everything is working fine in ie7-9 Chrome and FF. But Safari for OSX is very upset. It sees the need to add little 'up and down' buttons to the right hand side and generally mess up my visual stylings. My attempt to fix this, is to change the date inputs back to text inputs for desktop browsers, and leave it as date inputs for mobile: unless device.is # 'device' is a lib I use to detect mobile browsers dateFields = $ 'input[type="date"]' dateFields.attr 'type', 'text' #this fails dateFields.datepicker() dateFields.on 'keyup', (e) -> e.preventDefault() $(@).val '' Beyond altering the input type with js, I am at a loss for how to fix this little bugger.     I have a JUnit test that fails because the milliseconds are different. In this case I don't care about the milliseconds. How can I change the precision of the assert to ignore milliseconds (or any precision I would like it set to)? I also have a temporary table #temp(account, last_contact_date) which I use to update the table1.     I have an input text box for search of input, the id of the text box is: id="search". if a user enters 'cat' at first and hit search. In the function, I get the value 'cat' by using the syntax: var input = document.getElementById("search").value; After that, the user enter 'dog' in the search box and hit search using the same function. The function would assign 'dog' to the input variable. How would I compare the current value (dog) to the previously entered value (cat)? I have tried to assign the original input with a statement, something like var orig = input; but that would only overwrite the original input with the new input. What is the logical approach to this problem.

  • Why is this Java Calendar comparison bad?

    Hello folks. I'm having an inexplicable problem with the Java Calendar class when I'm trying to compare to dates. I'm trying to compare to Calendars and determine if their difference is than 1 day, and do things bases on that difference or not. But it doesn't work. If I do this with the two dates: String currDate = aCurrentUTCCalendar.getTime().toString(); String localDate = aLocalCalendar.getTime().toString(); I get these results: currDate = "Thu Jan 06 05:58:00 MST 2010" localDate = "Tue Jan 05 00:02:00 MST 2010" This is correct. But if I do this: long curr = aCurrentUTCCalendar.getTime().getTime(); long local = aLocalCalendar.getTime().getTime(); I get these results: ( in milliseconds since the epoch ) curr = -125566110120000 local = 1262674920000 Since there is only about a 30 hour different between the two, the magnitudes are vastly different, not to mention that annoying negative sign. This causes problems if I do this: long day = 60 * 60 * 24 * 1000; // 86400000 millis, one day if( local - curr > day ) { // do something } What's wrong? Why are the getTime().toString() calls correct, but the getTime().getTime() calls are vastly different? I'm using jdk 1.6_06 on WinXP. I can't upgrade the JDK for various reasons.

    I have a a model as follows: class Total include DataMapper::Resource property :id, Serial property :amount, Float, :default => 0.00 property :day, Date belongs_to :calendar end I am trying to select a specific Total from the data-store. class Calendar include DataMapper::Resource property :id, Serial property :name, String has n, :totals def get_total_for(date) return Total.first(:day => date, :calendar => self) end end When I call get_total_for(DateTime.now) I receive the following error on the call to the data-store. java.lang.IllegalArgumentException: day: org.jruby.RubyObject is not a supported property type. Is Date not allowed for usage in AppEngine? Is this a DataMapper issue? I have tried changing the name of the :day property to something else (hoping it was just a name conflict) but it doesn't seem to matter. Thanks for any help you can provide.

  • Hashbytes comparison in stored proceduring not matching record

    The password field in my user table (SQL Server 2008) is encrypted using HASHBYTES on insertion. I have a stored procedure with parameters for the username and plain-text password which does a SELECT using that username and the password sent through HASHBYTES, then returns the user record if it finds a match. The SP is always returning an empty recordset, but if I copy and paste just the SELECT from the SP to a new query window, it returns the matched record. There're no other statements in the SP. I'm missing something here; what is it?

    I have a game that I am working on in a C# console application, purely as practice before going on to better methods. As opposed to using something such as a Windows Forms App, which has button functionality built in, I am endeavoring to grab the cursor position (which I know how to do) and compare it to a number of area's inside a console application as defined by perhaps pixel location, but I also do not know if there is some sort of built in unit of space other than pixels (this last bit is the part I am unable to figure). P.S. I know this is in general terms, with no code already provided, but I do not feel that it is needed as all I am asking for is a brief explanation of how to grab X Y coordinates inside a console application, and stick them in int variables.   • artisteer wp-theme metadata (date, category) lost

    I am going nuts over wordpress and artisteer. I am trying something that used to be pretty straightforward - turning on and off the display of date and post category for my posts on my blog page. I find this in content.php global $post; theme_post_wrapper( array( 'id' => theme_get_post_id(), 'class' => theme_get_post_class(), 'title' => theme_get_meta_option($post->ID, 'theme_show_page_title') ? get_the_title() : '', 'heading' => theme_get_option('theme_single_article_title_tag'), 'before' => theme_get_metadata_icons('date', 'header'), 'content' => theme_get_content() ) ); And the instruction says that all you got to do is insert or remove 'date' in the 'before' line. I've done it back and forth with my content files and nothing changes on the output. I can't find the actual code that prints it all, wordpress used to be so simple before everything was dug down 10 levels deep and you now have to look through millions of different functions to find the simplest things... As you can probably tell, I usually don't work with WP =) But this is on my table now and I haven't stayed up to date with WP for a couple of years... Any input as to where I can find the variables is appreciated... I had expected to at some point find 'posted at '.echo($date).' in category '.echo($category) or something at least remotely similar...

    I have a project on going for a TV guide, called mytvguide in the database - I use PHPMyAdmin. This is the structure for one table, which is called tvshow1: Field Type channel varchar(255) date date No airdate time No expiration time No episode varchar(255) setreminder varchar(255) but am not sure how to get DATE, TIME to work with the pagination script (below is the script, which works for the version with DATETIME): http://pastebin.com/6S1ejAFJ However, although the DATETIME one works - it shows programmes that air on the day itself like this: Programme 1 showing on Channel 1 2:35pm "Episode 2" Set Reminder Programme 1 showing on Channel 1 May 26th - 12:50pm "Episode 3" Set Reminder Programme 1 showing on Channel 1 May 26th - 5:55pm "Episode 3" Set Reminder but I'm not quite sure how to replicate that for the fields that use DATE, TIME functions as seen above. Any advice on this is appreciated, thanks!

I can correct the problem by writing cout << (a>temp); where the operator> is similarly defined and i get no errors. but my assignment requires (temp < a) to work so this is where i ask for help.
